Random Shutdowns- how i got a new macbook
hey
i bought my macbook like a month ago and started to experience RSD like 3 days after. i was sooo upset, so i posted a reply to a thread here and ppl recommeded i start a new thread. i managed to solve my prob by getting a nice new macbook. here's how:
hey today i went into my apple store where i bought my macbook, i waited in line at teh cash bypassing the genuis bar. i repackaged my defunct macbook and took everything in, all my instruction manuls everything. i told the cashier wht was the problem quietly (i thought cuz they were selling macbooks left right and centre they would appreciate me not yelling out "macbooks have uber problems!") and the cashier said "we'll exchange it right away". He took my old one with the bill and the serial number and gave me a brand new macbook which i am using right now. granted i didnt have much on my old mac cuz it was almost new but the way the apple ppl acted they definitly did not want this prob publicized.
this really only works if you have a macstore you can go to and visit in person, it helps alot to actually physically be there. and if you have a newish laptop. also, be considerate, dont rant or yell. think about it: these ppl dont want to deal with an irate customer.
hope this helps any1 who has a prob!
Macbook Mac OS X (10.4.7)
hey
the macstore i returned my laptop to was pretty well stocked, my bro had a alt. configured macbook (black) and expereinced problems with RSD. they were able to configure a new one for him and he got a new comp in 2 days!
i still think the best idea is to, if possible go into a mac store and talk to the sale associates

I just got a new macbook pro. How do I get the 900+ songs that I took off of cds into iTunes on my computer from my iPhone. I had no problems syncing the music I had purchased from iTunes. I have tried to sync it using iTunes match, this did not work. I would like to have access to my full library without going into the user profile of my old computer, which is on my new computers hard drive. I would like to eventually delete the old profile so that I have more space on my hard drive.

I am English but live in Spain, When I got my new Macbook Pro I set the language to English, so far so good. Then I stupidly set the keyboard to British when it is obviously a Spanish keyboard. How can I reset it to Spanish. Sorry cant find question mark
LizMaddock,
you can reset the input source to Spanish by selecting the Keyboard pane of System Preferences, selecting the Input Sources tab, and pressing the “+” button in the lower-left corner to select one of the Spanish input sources. The “Spanish – ISO” input source is most similar to the physical Spanish keyboard layout. -
Hi!
I just got my new Macbook today (!!!) and I love it, but I can't figure out how to authorize this computer to play my purchased itunes music. I don't have any other computers authorized to play my purchased music, as I have de-authorized my previous computer. How do I authorize this new one? I know the FAQ section says to go to Store > Authorize computer, but I can't seem to find where this is located? I've never owned a Mac before.Silly me... I didn't realize that the top of the screen changes as you change windows (unlike windows computers). Thank you so much for the help. I really appreciate it!

I just got a new macbook pro (my other one stopped working). I am trying to sync the music on my iphone to my new mac's itunes library. I've clicked sync in iTunes but it doesnt work. how can i do this? I don't want it to delete everything from my phone or old computer.

You don't need to delete anything from your phone or you old computer.
Copy the entire /Music/iTunes/ folder from old computer or backup to /Music/ on new computer.
If you cannot use the old computer or don't have a backup...
-> Recovering your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device
Then immediately make a backup of your new computer.
Get an external drive and plug it in and use -> Time Machine -

i got my new macbook pro os x version 10.7.4 processor 2.4 GHz Memory 4 GB 1333 MHz DDR3 2012 but there's no idvd it should come with ilife but i didn't found it how could i install it thanks
Apple no longer distributes iDVD.
1) Buy an old iLife from a place such as e-bay or Amazon. Make sure it is a version that has iDVD. Do not buy it from Apple since their version no longer has iDVD.
2) Try a third party application (none really have the features of iDVD though).
Burn (free) - http://burn-osx.sourceforge.net/Pages/English/home.html - includes basic DVD authoring but you will definitely have to read the documentation.
Easily Burn Movies to a DVD without Apple's iDVD. - http://www.creativetechs.com/iq/easily_burn_movies_to_a_dvd_without_apples_idvd. html - directions for using Burn to make a TV DVD. Note, Burn also has a separate application which lets you do more fancy menus.

I have an old Mad with OS X 10.6.8. I just got a new MacBook Air. I want to transfer my Office 2011 to the new computer. I have the product ID number. How do I do this?
You may get a dialog box indicating you need to contact Microsoft to activate it if you've used up all your activations (2 for the professional version or 3 for the home/student version). Don't worry - you won't be hassled, just explain that you just bought a new computer and you are transfering the license.

I got a new macbook pro but i have lost some music, tv shows and films. How can i get them back?
Click here and follow the instructions, or move them from the old computer. Any movies you've previously rented aren't transferable.

Just got a new Macbook Pro with Maverick. In Mail, how do you get the format bar to show?
You are still under warranty. Call Apple Care. Make sure you get a case number as all repairs have an additional 90 days of warranty.
#1 - You have 14 days from the date of purchase to return your computer with no questions asked.
#2 - You have 90 days of FREE phone tech support.
#3 - You have the standard one year Apple warranty.
#4 - If you've purchased an AppleCare Protection Plan, your warranty last for 3 years. You can obtain AppleCare anytime up to the first year of the purchase of your computer.
Take FULL advantage of your warranty. Posting on a message board should be done as a last resort and if you are out of warranty or Apple Care has expired. -
I got a new macbook pro and now I need to know how to remove the prior owners itunes id from my computer?
If you purchased a computer from another person, you need to wipe it clean. To do this, click on the link - Erasing disks securely
Depending on your model Macbook Pro...
Start up from your install disc, go to Disk Utility and select the disk and click erase - to securely erase data click Security Options and Erase Free Space which will entirely wipe your disk, overwriting it with zeros so that no data is recoverable.
