RBACx Encrypted Password Change Utility

Hi all,
In the OIA/SRM installation guide, there is a reference to a tool, to find out the password of rbacxservice.
"Oracle Identity Analytics utilizes an encrypted password when communicating with the database.
To change the default database password, use the RBACx Encrypted Password Change Utility"
Could you please help me finding out this tool.
Many thanks in advance.
Warm regards,
Manipradeep Sunku.

The mentioned tool only encrypts the password so that you don't have to store a plain text password in the config file. It does not decrypt it. The default rbacxservice password is rbacxservice.
The tool does not come with the OIA/SRM distribution so if you need it, you will need to contact support.

  • External HFS encrypted password change & Drive mounting in Disk Utility without password

    I have two questions:
    1. I have an external HFS encyrpted drive that was encrypted via Mavericks Disk Utility. I have the password for it in 1password but I cannot cut and paste it when it attempts to mount. It is a very long password and it would not be practical to type it manually. It seems that Apple does not permit pasting such passwords (I have also tried to copy the password to a sticky note and then into the drive mount password prompt with no results, thus it is not unique to 1Password). At any rate, to remedy this situation, I would like to change the password to something smaller and memorizable (which is very very unfortunate as I find this a gaping security issue for who, in their right mind will manualy type in a 60 character password every time?). I have not been able to locate a method to change this external drive's password. Any assistance would be greatly apprecaiated.
    2. Alarmingly, I AM able to mount the drive WITHOUT entry of the password if I do a verify disk and repair disk. This is horrifying. This means that without any password someone can mount the drive just by running these utilities.
    Thanks in advance.

    You wrote: "It's definitely formatted for windows...I have Disk Warrior, but it doesn't see my drive "DiskWarrior only works on disks in Mac OS formats, e.g. "Mac OS Extended" (aka HFS Plus or HFS+), "Mac OS Extended (Journaled)." It won't fix disks in MS-DOS/FAT32 format.
    There are PC-specific disk utilities, akin to DiskWarrior for Mac, so if you have a PC as well, a PC disk utility might help repair the directory corruption if run from a PC.
    External drives, whether they're formatted for PCs or Macs, can be subject to the same causes of directory corruption discussed in See my "Data corruption and loss: causes and avoidance" FAQ. Some of those causes have nothing to do with hardware failure and many are preventable.
    Good luck!

  • Password Change Utility

    Does anyone have, or know of, a utility for users to change their Oracle passwords without having access to SQLPLUS directly?

    I'm pretty sure 9.0.1 comes with iSQL*Plus-- 9.2 certainly does.
    You could certainly put together a little web-based utility to do this sort of thing pretty quickly if you wanted-- shouldn't be more than a week of effort. Might be fewer headaches than enabline iSQL*Plus.

  • Scheduler Agent Installed as Service Encrypted Password Change

    All,
    We have a Scheduler Agent installed as a service in Windows Server 2003, SP2. We want to change the password of the Master Repository. When I change the ODI_SECU_ENCODED_PASS in the odiparams.bat file it doesn't reflect this change in the service. I tried looking around in the snpsagent.conf wrapper file to see if the password is stored anywhere but dont' see it. I see it references a file called snpparams.bat, unfortunately I cannot find this file on our machine. If anyone knows how to get the new password to take effect without having to drop the agent and recreate it, thus losing all schedules that we've created, I would greatly appreciate the help.
    Thanks in Advance,
    Josh

    Hi Josh,
    the snpparamens.bat is exactly the same of odiparameter.bat. It had this name when the software was Sunopsis (SNP). Probably you saw the reference at some old document...
    If you drop the service nothing will be loose, just recreate it to get the new parameters. The scheduling list is stored, as everything in the ODI, at the repository, it means that all scheduling orders are at tables. Because of that you need to made a "update scheduler" when create a new scheduling.
    If you are still afraid, just create a new agent at another port (as service) and change the logical agent to it. Update the scheduller list an take a look if everthing is OK.
    After that you can drop the old service.
    Does it make any sense to you?

  • ICM 7.5 Agent Password change utility/interface

    I am running ICM 7.5 Enterprise. is there a web or any other interface which can be provided to Agents to change their pasword ?

    vibin.v wrote:Any idea of the sql statement to update the password?  the ICM is anyway running  MSQL 2005
    That's not a good idea. All ICM integrators and admin users should understand the basics of how configuration changes are made in ICM. This is a complex path in order to ensure that the key component, the duplexed Call Router has changed the in-memory copy of the configuration. Changing the database (which one were you thinking of - Logger, AW?) using SQL Query Analyzer or any other native method is more than likely to totally mess up your system.

  • How to write a pgm to change the existing encrypted password

    Hi all,
    can anybody tell me how to write a pgm to change the existing encrypted password.
    thanks in advance.

    Well, it's going to depend on how it's implemented in the current system.
    But basically it's going to look a lot like the current login actions. Presumably you have something that takes the user ID and password, encrypts the password, looks up the encrypted password in the database matching that user ID, and compares them. This functionality would also take a new password (preferably twice so they can be checked for consistency), and if the existing encrypted passwords match, it will encrypt the new password and put it in the database where the old one was.
    And if the application has a mechanism for new users to sign up, it'll look a lot like this as well.
    But I'm just guessing. This is all going to depend on how the existing functionality is written. Probably the best thing you can do is talk to a programmer at your organization who has worked on the application, and ask them for help.
    Hope this helps anyway.

  • EFS, password change denies access to encrypted data

    Hi,
    Has anyone had the issue with admin changing users password in Console One
    resulting in users not being able to access their encrypted data.
    Laptop users are using EFS to encrypt their data.
    These users have WinXPPro SP2 and we are running ZfD 6.5SP2.

    not fix the issue.
    Could someone explain in more detail what this fix does as I may have

  • APEXExport Utility - Encrypt Password?

    Hi,
    I was wondering if there's a way to encrypt the password for the APEXExport utility? The utility works very nicely, but due to security purposes, I can't have the unencrypted password sitting there. I wanted to schedule it to run daily as a job, but the password would be an issue on the server.
    Thanks,
    Nora

    If you've licensed the Advanced Security Option for the database, you can use the Oracle Wallet Manager to store encrypted passwords for use with batch utilities and shell scripts.

  • How to change encrypted password backup

    HI
    I have an encrypted password for my iPhone backups on my MacBook. I have tried my passwords with no avail. Is there anyway I could reset the password? I really want to backup my new iPhone 6. I've tried iCloud didn't work for me.
    thanks

    This may possibly apply, but I suspect it's unlikely:
    iOS: Troubleshooting encrypted backups - Apple Support
    More likely this article applies, especially the section I've included below the link:
    Create and delete iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch backups in iTunes - Apple Support
    Make sure that the password you use is one that you'll remember. If you encrypt an iPhone backup in iTunes and forget your password, you won't be able to restore from backup, and your data will be unrecoverable.
    If you can't remember the password and want to start again, you must perform a full software restore and choose set up as a new device when iTunes prompts you to select the backup from which to restore.

  • Weblogic admin user password change w/o disrupting existing users

    Hi Folks,
    As a business policy we need to change the password of the admin user in weblogic after a cycle of specific period.
    Please let us now how can we do that without losing the other existing users in 'my realm.'
    I understand that we can use the weblogic.utils.security.AdminAcoount utility to give the new password, which will create a new DefaultAuthenticatorInit.ldift file in +<domain-home>/security+ folder (according to Doc ID 1082299.1).
    The password will change but the users in 'my realm' will be lost. (there are many users and it is a production environment so recreation is out-of- question)
    Is there a way we can retain the users and still proceed with the password change?
    Cheers,
    Jeegar

    Hi Jeegar,
    This can be doen by followin the standard procedure by login to console and navigate to :-
    DOMAIN_STRUCTURE--->Security Realm--->myrealm--->Users and Groups---->User tab click on the user weblogic
    --click on the password tab and put the new password there and save (password is changed for the user here)
    ---Logout from the console and login to the console again using the new password
    But when the server starts it do not read the password for the user directly from the realm rather it picked the same from the $DOMAIN_HOME/servers/AdminServer/security/boot.properties
    Now in order to make this change available when the server starts change the values for the username and password in boot.properties and specify them in plain-text and save the same.
    Now next time whenever the server will start it will pick up the new values from the boot.properties and once the same had been accepted those will be encrypted again.
    You might have to make the change for the boot.properties for all the Managed Server if you have the Managed Servers in the domain which will be located at the location $DOMAIN_HOME/servers/<<Managed Server Name>>/data/nodemanager/boot.properties
    You can test the steps on some lower environment first and try the same in Critical environment once the testing goes successful.

    Vijay

  • How can i find my encryption password?

    i totally forgot my encryption password and i need help...

    Hello APaq17. Welcome to the Apple Discussions!
    According to my deskside support i need to figure out my SSID.
    The SSID is the same as the wireless Network Name. By default, your AirPort Express Base Station (AX) will broadcast a wireless network with a Network Name of "Apple Network NNNNNN" unless you changed it.
    How do i find my encryption type?
    By default, the AX's wireless network would be unencrypted. You enable wireless encryption by using the AirPort Utility. Depending on the model of your AX, it should be capable of providing the following security types: WEP, WPA, & WPA2.
    (ref: AirPort Utility > Select the AX > Manual Setup > AirPort > Wireless > Wireless Security)
    Where can i find my password or network key?
    Again this would be something you would have created when enabling wireless encryption.

  • How to encrypt password in serverstopper class??

    Hi,
    I have configured the weblogic server as windows service and currently using boot identity file for username/pw to startup. To enable graceful shutdown of the server, i am using serverstopper class. But to facilitate changing of pw, i am reading the password from a property file in which the password is stored in plain text format. Is there a way to encrypt the password and configure serverstopper class to use the encrypted password or the serverstopper class can use boot identity file to shutdown? When i tried the serverstopper class without username/pw, i am not able to shutdown the service and getting anonymous user can't shutdown the service. Thanks in advance for your reply.
    Thanks,
    Kuppusamy.V.,

    Hi Kuppuswamy,
    Here is the simple "WLST interpreter script", I didn't have time so tried to keep java code as simple as possible(didn't follow good coding practices :-( ). Before executing this java program you need to generate keys. Below is the procedure for that.
    Assumption :-
    BEA_HOME :- /usr/VASVijay/bea10mp1
    WL_HOME :- BEA_HOME/wlserver_10.0
    1) Go to WL_HOME/server/bin and set the environment by executing "setWLSEnv.sh".
    2) Then execute below command which generate "userconfig" and "userkey" files in the directory you had execute this command
    java weblogic.Admin -adminurl t3://adminserverl:port -username <adminusername> -password <adminpassword> -userconfigfile userconfig -userkeyfile userkey -STOREUSERCONFIG
    This command prompts for "Y" or "N", select "Y", then creates two files "userconfig" and "userkey"
    3) Validate above keys are correct, execute below command
    java weblogic.Admin -adminurl t3://adminserverl:port -userconfigfile userconfig -userkeyfile userkey -GETSTATE
    Above command should display "RUNNING".
    4) Compile below java code and execute. Change the server name(VASMS1) in "shutdown('VASMS1','Server') according to your server name.
    import java.util.*;
    import weblogic.management.scripting.utils.WLSTInterpreter;
    import org.python.util.InteractiveInterpreter;
    public class VASServerShutdown
    static InteractiveInterpreter interpreter = null;
    VASServerShutdown()
    interpreter = new WLSTInterpreter();
    private static void connect()
    StringBuffer buffer = new StringBuffer();
    buffer.append("connect(userConfigFile='/usr/VASVijay/VASDomains/VASNewDomain/userconfig',userKeyFile='/usr/VASVijay/VASDomains/VAS
    NewDomain/userkey',url='t3://localhost:8001') \n");
    buffer.append("print(cmo)");
    interpreter.exec(buffer.toString());
    public static void serverShutdown()
    StringBuffer buffer = new StringBuffer();
    buffer.append("shutdown('VASMS1','Server')");
    interpreter.exec(buffer.toString());
    public static void main(String args[])
    new VASServerShutdown();
    connect();
    serverShutdown();
    Let me know if you have any issues or you require something additional.
    Thanks.

  • HT5624 Hello, how do I reset my encrypted password

    I can't recall my encrypted password for my  back up. How do I remove the password?

    You will have to guess until you get it correct, or you can just make a new backup and start fresh, unless you are on a Mac.  See the instructions below.
    Source: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS5162
    iOS: Troubleshooting encrypted backups
    Symptoms
    When you restore from a backup in iTunes, you may be asked for a password to unlock the backup. Learn what to do if you can't remember or do not know your backup password.
    Resolution
    One of these situations may apply:
    Backup encryption was enabled, but you do not know the password
    An administrator installed a profile on your device that requires backup encryption
    When backup encryption is first enabled, iTunes asks to enter a password and then creates a new encrypted backup for the device. iTunes will continue making encrypted backups until you deselect the Encrypt backup checkbox in the iTunes Device Summary screen. You need the backup password to disable backup encryption or to restore from an encrypted backup. The setting to encrypt backups is stored on the device.
    You can keep trying to restore the device from backup until you remember the password. If you're having trouble, try:
    Leaving the password field blank
    Your Apple ID password
    Your computer account password, if you have one
    Email passwords you may have used
    Your Wi-Fi network password
    Website passwords you may have used
    A password for hard-disk encryption software, if you use it
    If you have ever had a VPN connection or an Exchange email account set up on your iOS device, try using the password associated with those accounts. If you have changed your password for that account in the past, try using an old password. If that doesn’t work, contact the administrator for the account and see if they have a default password enabled on the account.
    Profiles are common when the device is part of an enterprise deployment and may be required for Exchange, VPN, or internal security. Administrators make iOS Profiles using the iPhone Configuration Utility or Apple Configurator. Profiles may enforce backup encryption. The first time your device syncs after such a profile is installed, you must enter a backup password. In some cases, an administrator may have synced the device for you and entered the backup password then. If so, ask the administrator who issued the device to you for the backup password.
    Mac only: Password saved in Keychain
    If you are using OS X, the password might be saved in Keychain Access. Follow these steps to see if this is the case:
    Open iTunes Preferences and select the Devices tab. Note the time of the device’s backup.
    Right-click the desired backup and choose "Show in Finder".
    Finder should now be open, showing the backup selected. Click the Edit menu and choose Copy.
    Open Keychain Access from /Applications/Utilities/.
    Paste the backup folder's name into the search box in the top-right corner of Keychain Access.
    If there is a password for the backup, you should see it in Keychain Access.
    Double-click the backup in Keychain Access.
    Click the button “Show password”.
    You may be asked to enter your login keychain password. After doing so, click Allow. You should see your backup password.
    Use this password to restore from your backup.
