Re acrobat write v8

I have a color pdf file that I am trying to change to b/w for printing. I have figured out how to change the text color. But I am stumped on how to change the background page color. Can someone help me with this problem.

Which Acrobat version are you using?
By saying Acrobat writer, do you mean Adobe PDF printer in Acrobat or PDFMaker in Office products?
Also, you might try repairing Acrobat from the Help menu.

Acrobat Writer won't create pdf from GenoPro webpage

A teriffic genealogy program is GenoPro. It prints to the web (or to the hard drive) as an actual html web page(s). I can click on any name and go there, click on any name in the pedigree chart and go to that person. I tried creating pdf and chose the entire site. It would get only the main page. So I figured I could click on each name and append. It would not do that. Just said general error.
There is another genealogy program named Gramps. It can also make a web page family tree, also on your hard drive. I tried the same thing, created pdf using entire site. This worked. Every name has a clickable link, every pedigree I can click on any name and go to that name.
I am trying to figure out why GenoPro won't.There is no reason why it should not work. I am mystified.

I will have to change some of my problem. Acrobat Writer does indeed use all of the names in the GenoPro webpage to pdf when I use create from web page. The only problem rather than a page of ancestry I get the following code. And it is the same for each person. The only actually formatted properly page is the initial one with all the names. Any ideas why this is happening?

What Adobe Acrobat writer programs are compatible with both XP Pro and Windows 7?

I am upgrading from Adobe Acrobat Writer 4.0. My version has issues with Windows 7 that I loaded into my new laptop.

.WAV sound plays in Acrobat Writer not Reader

Hi:
I apologize if this seemingly simple question was asked before, but I could find any previously posted answers..
I message in the first created a pdf on a PC using Acrobat Writer and added sounds from .wav files. The sounds are embedded in command buttons and sound tool objects. They play fine on all PCs tested but when I tested the file on a Mac the sounds failed to play using Reader.
I found a Mac I could spend time with and discovered when using Writer on a Mac my pdf played just fine. When i choise to open the pdf using Mac reader the sound wasn't heard.
Does anyone have any idea whats wrong?

All I can suggest is that if you can ungrade to Acrobat 9 pro extended, you can embed your .wav file if you convert it to mp3. Then as long as the mac has Reader 9 the playback will have no problem.

No existe ni ha existido nunca un Acrobat Writer. Sí existió un accesorio llamado PDF Writer, que se descontinuó hace muchos años (y versiones) porque nunca funcionó bien.
Si lo que requieres es producir archivos PDF a partir de archivos producidos en otras aplicaciones, lo que necesitas es Adobe Acrobat. No tengo idea sobre cuál es la versión más reciente que finciona con Win 98 SE, ni dónde puedes adquirirla, lo que supongo dpende del país en que estás.

Acrobat Reader 9 and Acrobat Writer 7

Good morning
I have a nice issue with these 2 adobe products
We have 2 products installed in our pc: Adobe Reader 9.x and Adobe Writer 7
We have developped a SAP-Procedure who load a PDF form in wich users can modify some data
The procedure need Adobe 8.1.x (up) but the presence of Reader 9 and Writer 7 will generate an error loading the form
IS it possible to unregister the Adobe 7 module loaded in IE and re-load Adobe Reader 9 activex modules?

Thanks for the answer. I've found a little workaround... The only way is
uninstall Adobe Reader 9.x and re-install SO the program could
re-register AR components in IE. This because AA7 lock some keys and cannot unregister them manually!

Share Acrobat Writer?

If i install Acrobat Full version eg: Acrobat 8 STD to a server and share the Acrobat printer (Adobe PDF) out. Does it work?

Win 7 error: no acrobat pdf writer driver (but writer not installed)

Is there a way we can use Acrobat Standard to assign a password for opening of signed PDF file once it has been downloaded from DocuSign?

Prior to implementing DocuSign, we used to scan manually signed document to a PDF file and then store the PDF file in a HR file share. We would then use Adobe Writer Standard to assign a read/write password to the PDF file. We now use DocuSign to have documents electronically signed and download the DocuSign PDF in our HR folders. However Adobe Acrobat Writer does not allow us to assign a password. It pops up a dialog box saying ""you cannot change security on this document because the document is signed or certified". We want to continue being able to store the PDF in our HR file share with passwords to restrict who can view off the share. Is there a way we can assign a password to the PDF file once it has been downloaded from DocuSign?

Thanks Bernd. We can't assign passwords before signature process starts as people will not be able to open the PDF without knowing the password. I think we will change our process and simply leave the electronically signed PDF in DocuSign and then "print" the PDF to our local file share for internal HR purposes. thanks again.

Acrobat Pro. 7.1.0 problem with Windows 7

I recently upgraded my desktop to Windows 7 64 bit. Prior to that, I had been running Vista Home Premium 64 bit.
Acrobat runs, and I can read Acrobat documents, so that is working. However, when I go to "Devices and Printers",
I don't have the Acrobat Writer available to me. I tried re-installing, and got an error message that it could not
add the printer (something about it couldn't access the Program (x86) folder to install an Adobe.dll file). So, I
was wondering if anyone else has encountered this. It seems that Windows 7 "protects" itself in certain ways
which won't allow programs access to folders needed to install correctly. Haven't been running Windows 7
too long (since beginning of the year), so have lots to learn about this OS.

In Windows 7 you will need Acrobat Reader / Acrobat version 9.2 or better.

I'm distributing Elements 6.0 from a server and having user go to Start, Run and typing \\servername\project folder name\setup.exe but keep getting the error "Incorrect command line parameters. I'm trying different variations in the command line field in Tuner such as: setup.exe /s /v/qn What am I missing?

Creating an automated silent install of Acrobat using InstallShield Tuner - Part 1

For anyone who has tried to use the InstallShield Tuner application you'll know how buggy the program is and be aware of the lack of support from Adobe. After 4 months working on and off I managed to get a (mostly) working silent install. I thought I would share my findings with everyone so as to help prevent a few headaches.
Note I am based in England and some of my comments may not apply to US customers.

Acrobat 6.0.1 Admin Install Point Creation & Maintenance
Creating the Install Point
1. Copy files to the network share that will be your Admin Install Point.
For Acrobat Professional these files are on the Acrobat CD
For Acrobat Reader you will need to download the latest version from www.adobe.com. Adobe is using a new compression package called Netopsystems FEAD Optimizer to deliver its Acrobat Reader application. To extract the files double click the downloaded .exe file and wait until the actual Reader installation begins. The uncompressed files are temporarily stored in %system root%\Cache\Adobe Reader 6.x.x\ENUBIG. Copy these files to the network share.
Once the installation files are copied to the network share select them, right click, choose properties, switch off read-only attribute for all files (inc sub folders).
2. Install the InstallShield Tuner 6.0.1 from Adobe Acrobat
(http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/deployment.html)
3. Install the software that you intend to create a .MST file for (Acrobat Reader or Pro) and update it to the same version number as the Tuner (6.0.1 at the time of writing). The latest Acrobat can be downloaded from Adobe as can patches for Acrobat Professional.
Note: After further investigation his step may not be necessary.
4. Due to a bug in the InstallShield Tuner the PCs language and regional settings must all be set to English US. (START Menu Settings Control Panel Regional and Language Options). Set everything to English US.
5. Run InstallShield Tuner 6.0.1 for Adobe Acrobat and when prompted choose Rdr60ENU.itw (for Acrobat Reader) or AcroPro.itw (for Acrobat Writer Pro). These files can be found in the location you specified in step 1.
Acrobat Reader Configurataion
1. When prompted choose Create a New Transform
2. Select Adobe Reader 6.0.1.msi as the base .MSI file
3. Give the .MST file a name
4. Click Create (this may take a minute to process)
5. Configure your install options
6. File - Save
Acrobat Writer Pro Configuration
1. When prompted choose Create a New Transform
2. Select AcroPro.msi as the base .MSI file
3. Give the .MST file a name
4. Click Create (this may take a minute to process)
NOTE: Do not click on the Organisation Product Properties field. If you do the installer will return a transform error when you try to deploy Acrobat. Instead enter these details in the Abcpy.ini file and via the command line. (See step 5)
5. Amend the Abcpy.ini file as below:
ISX_SERIALNUMBER=xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx (where xxxx is your serial number)
USERNAME=xxxxxxxxxx (where xxxx is the users name)
Company name should be entered from the command line (See Installing Acrobat Writer section below)
