Re:"Alarm Clock" message

hi,
I got the similiar problem as mentioned in "Alarm Clock" message.
Can anyone be so kind tell me how it comes and how to deal with it?
Thanks,

i m writing a program using kstat library for
monitoring purpose.
when i run the program it runs perfectly but after
some time it prints
"Alarm Clock"
and ends.
The program doesnt crash or throw any exception.
It is a java program which uses jni to load a C++
library written by me which uses the kstat for
monitoring.
I hope the message is from the system.
Because i m not printing it anywhere in my program.
It is a threaded program which uses pthread library in
C++ layer.
can anyone tell me what could be the reason.

hi
this is a kind of signal from the system. One way is to mask it using signal handling and then you won't get it. You will get it in applications which are heavly multithreaded and/or running like a server.
I used to mask it like this
signal(SIGALRM, alarmClockSigHandler);
Where in the method alarmClockSigHandler, I simply print out a message.
It is declared in signal_iso.h in /usr/include/sys/iso directory.

    Hello there philp_69,
    If I understand correctly it sounds like your phone hasnt been recognized in iTunes on your PC since the last couple of updates. I would use the troubleshooting in the following article which will walk you through the steps one by one.

  • Incompatible message with iHome Alarm Clock

    I have an iHome alarm clock and after upgrading to the latest version of IOS the clock and my iPhone are no longer working together. I get the message that the phone does not support this accessory.  I have tried resetting my phone and deleting and redownloading the necessary apps. It is very frustrating. Can anyone out there shed light on a solution?

    I'd say the most likely answer is they did not follow Apple's design specifications for peripherals and now it's catching up with them.

  • Help, since my update to my Iphone 4, it will no longer charge on my alarm clock docking station. The station I purchased four months ago from Target.

    It will still charge my ipod,but not my iphone. I keep getting a message on my phone when I put it on the dock, saying that it is not supported by this divise. Please help. I am not going to go out and spend another 35.00 on an alarm clock when this one works perfectly fine, my phone is just being picky. Please help.

    Talk to Toyota. The fault is in their in-car system. Talk to Toyota corporate. The dealers are clueless. Your system needs to be updated.

  • Problems with 'Alarm Clock'

    Good day.
    I use my Ipod as Alarm Clock - it's pretty good to wake up while listening to the favourite music. I made it to start playing playlist without beeping.
    I don't know why, but sometimes (after watching video, listening to the music before I go to bed) my alarm clock doesn't work correctly: when it's time to wake up, it just shows a message *wake up* as usually, but without playing music, so I'm being late for some times already...
    Please, tell me what to do, how to fix this problem, 'cause I hate ordinary beeping alarm clocks.
    P.S.: Sorry, if my english isn't very good.

    Pick a sound, song, etc. for the alarm and make sure it is not the default one.

  • Is there an alarm clock app that ignores other notifications while you're sleeping?

    my bb had an alarm clock application that was awesome - it "held off" all notifications that i would get during the night until i turned off my alarm clock in the morning. so, all the email notices, late night text messaging, facebook "pops" all were silenced and I could get a solid night's sleep keeping my phone on for the alarm app. does the iphone have such an app?

    its already that way...
    just put it on silent, the alarm still sounds.
    my vibrate is off when in mute so it doesn't vibrate either-
    but the alarm works when the phone is on silent. just make sure the ringer volume is up.

  • Alarm clock - inaudible

    Hello. I have the IPod Nano 5g and when put the alarm for a morning jog, a problem arises.
    If you choose to sound the alarm settings - a signal, the morning shows in the dynamics of just one short beep, which you can not hear.
    If you choose to sound the alarm settings - playlist, the music playing in the morning not in the dynamics, playing in the headphones, which is also impossible to hear (if I did not sleep with headphones). It turns before each bedtime to remove the headphones from the socket? But it is not practical.
    Is it possible to do something to music alarm clock fed to the speaker when the headphones are included? Or at least given a choice in setting the alarm sound - a signal that was a normal tone?
    Maybe this can be corrected in the new firmware IPod Nano 5g?
    Apologies for the Google-translator. Sincerely, Alex from Ukraine.

  • Native Alarm Clock interrupted by push notifications

    I have an iPhone 3 GS with the latest ( as of 3/1/2011 ) IOS installed. The Clock application has 3 alarms set to go of each Weekday, 15 minutes apart , using the default alarm sound. This is designed to make sure I get out of bed for work in the morning, even if snooze or "ok" the first alarm.
    Environment:
    My iPhone is plugged into the charger ( can't have it not wake me up due to dead batt)
    Home Screen is in the foreground ( no apps open )
    Screen is locked ( but not passcoded )
    Alarms are set, the first one has snooze enabled, the 2nd and 3rd do not.
    For the last 2 days, the 1st alarm goes off, I swipe to unlock the screen, the popup message disappears, and the alarm sound stops. Note that I am not given the option to snooze or acknowledge the alarm, as soon as I unlock the phone, the alarm turns off.
    The next 2 alarms do not sound. If I fall back asleep ( like I usually do ), I wake up by myself, am late for work, and generally have a bad day.
    Has anyone else seen this issue? I've tried a multitude of alarm clock programs, but I always come back to the native one since it's the most reliable. I literally own 3 alarm clocks but prefer the iPhone for that purpose.

    I verified the issue. When my TextFree application notifies me ( popup message ) that I've received a new text, and then alarm goes off before I unlock the phone screen to view it, the alarm will not sound.
    I turned off notications for TextFree last night, and this morning( day 3 of 3 of testing ) the alarms that I set up worked perfectly. This issue might be true for any program that can do popup notifications, but my texting program is the only one that gets a lot of traffic.
    Solved.

  • Alarm Clock (NOT Jan. 1 issue)

    I've had an issue with my iPhone alarm clock for a while now. If your alarm starts going off and then you get another notification then the alarm stops going off. I feel this is something that definitely should not be happening. I wanted to e-mail Apple directly about this, but couldn't manage to find the e-mail address. I'm assuming it's probably just [email protected], but I wanted to find the site link for it so that it would actually go directly to the right department.
    Anyways, anyone else ever have this issue? I would love to see a fix for this come out considering it's been an issue as long as notifications have been around.

    I have a feeling it's not a huge problem because of the fact that it has not yet been addressed. I will check the places you suggested as well as call Apple, but I have a feeling neither will have a solution.
    I figured out how to replicate the issue. I have a game that will send people on missions and when they get back it gives a notification. I sent someone on a mission that took two minutes and then set an alarm to go off after 1 minute. The alarm starts going off, but then when the notification for the mission complete comes up the alarm stops sounding and vibrating. This is a huge problem in my eyes, and should definitely be taken care of.
    If anyone else could try replicating this and let me know their results I'd be very grateful.
    Thanks,
    Andy G

  • Alarm Clock won't work. Please Help!

    My alarm clock won't work. When I set it to the time and it goes off , the sound does not come on. Can someone please help me.

    I have the same problem. The iPod is only a week old and the alarm worked on 30th of December, but today (1st of January) it has refused to work.
    I've tried restarting the iPod, force quitting the clock, changing time zone and I've even tried setting an hour ahead & behind, in case the problem was connected with the daylight savings setting on my Mac.
    The alarm won't work and I'm stumped!
    Edit: just found this on another thread about this very subject...

  • CLI alarm clock

    I would like to use an alarm clock with a command line interface.
    I looked into a combination of "at" and notifications but I think it does not fit. For example atq shows little info about scheduled "alarms".
    Remind seems nice, if only there was a way to get notifications for passed alarms. Most calendar applications will show passed alarms when the computer is turned on.
    Any suggestions?

    This is what I use since years:
    #!/bin/bash
    # Issue an alarm using at and xmessage
    # Usage:
    # AL [@] delay [message timeout]]
    # where @ denotes absolute time
    # If not absolute time:
    # delay is in minutes
    # timeout is in seconds
    # Defaults to 5 minutes delay: "ALARM"
    # Message defaults to "ALARM"
    PREFIX="now + "
    SUFFIX=" minutes"
    DELAY=15
    MSG='ALARM'
    TO=60
    if [ "$1" == "-h" ] || [ "$1" == "--help" ]
    then
    echo "AL - Issue an alarm"
    echo " AL [delay (in minutes) [message [timeout (in seconds)]]]"
    echo " or"
    echo " AL @ time [message [timeout (in seconds)]]"
    echo " defaults: delay=15 message=\"ALARM\" timeout=60"
    exit
    fi
    if [ "$1" == "@" ]
    then
    PREFIX=""
    SUFFIX=""
    shift
    fi
    if [ "$1"x != "x" ]
    then
    DELAY=$1
    if [ "$2"x != "x" ]
    then
    MSG="$2"
    if [ "$3"x != "x" ]
    then
    TO=$3
    fi
    fi
    fi
    # Xdialog Version
    echo "BELL;DISPLAY=:0 Xdialog --timeout $TO --msgbox "\"$MSG\"" 0 0" | at $PREFIX$DELAY$SUFFIX
    # xmessage version
    # echo "BELL;DISPLAY=:0 xmessage -button OK -default OK -timeout $TO ""$MSG""" | at $PREFIX$DELAY$SUFFIX
    if [ "$PREFIX"x != "x" ]
    then
    echo "Alarm \""$MSG"\" in $PREFIX$DELAY$SUFFIX using timeout $TO seconds"
    else
    echo "Alarm \""$MSG"\" at $DELAY using timeout $TO seconds"
    fi
    There is no information about already scheduled alarms as yet. This should be easily implemented by writing the effective alarm command to some log file.

  • Curtis iMode IP200 iPod alarm clock radio- will it fit the classic?

    Hey everyone! I currently just bought the 80gb ipod classic. I have a Curtis iMode IP200 iPod alarm clock radio that fits my old 4g ipod and I was wondering if the classic is suppose to fit in it. It doesn't seem to which is disappointing because I do like the clock. It came with lots of adaptors and I have the adaptor that came with my classic but it is not fitting. It looks like it can fit though...I don't much about the universal dock but will that make my classic fit this clock? or is the universal dock just another ipod charger... Thank-you.

    The Extreme Mac Luna will do 1, 2, 3, and 5. Not many other radio docking stations will get close. Most don't even recognize the iphone3g. I was lucky enough to already have the ExtremeMac clock radio when I got my iPhone... it's white, has dual alarms, charges but does give you that error message and tells you to put the iphone in airplane mode. I never do, and it clicks a little when a call comes through, but I can live with that.

  • Alarm Clock, Calculator icon, etc.

    I was having problems with my Treo 650, so the Sprint service center did a hard reset. Now I am missing all kinds of icons on my phone. How do I get them back. For example, I don't have my alarm clock icon and my calculator icon. They have ordered a replacement phone, but I need the alarm clock and calculator now. Thanks.

    Thanks so much. It worked!
    I didn't notice that it said "System". I guess it always said "All", so I never noticed the other selections.
    I have had my Treo 650 for over 4 years. I took it in because my text messaging isn't working, and they did a hard reset. They have ordered a new phone for me, because they can't fix it.
    Thanks again!
