Kevin-
You say you uploaded the pictures to the iPad? Then they should still be there, and you can copy them to your computer through iTunes.
There are utility programs for a computer that can recover deleted files from hard drives, and they may work for camera memory cards as well. I've used DiskWarrior for Macintosh to recover pictures from an SD card before.

I am hoping that someone can help me understand how it can be so easy to lose the last 2 years data on an iphone by synching to itunes for the first time since 2012? If this happens from itunes automatically overwriting your phones system why would'nt there be warnings and red sirens going off on your phone? Can somone please let me know if this lost data is recoverable and maybe even let me know how to recover it?
Thank youGlad to help! The reply you got was very generic and didn't completely address your questions.
Basically, all it said was to restore your backup. What I addressed was your query about how and why this happened. iTunes did give you prompts and warnings. And if you'd used iTunes back in 2012, then you'd have lost much less data when you made the incorrect selection.
Do you have an iCloud backup? Were you backing up your device at all?
I just found it amusing that you were 'ticked off at Apple' when Apple didn't cause this problem. You did.
Have a great day! -
HELP! I just got a 5S....synced to my computer....and lost the photos/videos that I took today before connecting to my computer that I need back! Is there any way to recover these?
If you took pictures and then set up your phone using a back up from an old phone, you have erased the pictures. If you emailed or texted them to someone, you may be able to get them back that way.
Best of luck. -
Only an exclamation point shows up when I click a thumbnail in my iphoto folder. Is there any way to recover these photos by using the thumbnails? Please help. Thanks!
That exclamation mark is displayed when iPhoto cannot link to the original file. First make sure you are running a "managed" library by checking iPhoto's Advanced preference pane to make sure the checkbox to copy files into the library during import is checked.
If it is checked you can try the following: make a temporary, duplicate copy of the library and apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
Fix #1
Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
Select the options identified in the screenshot.
Fix #2
Using iPhoto Library Manager to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
Download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
Click on the Add Library button, navigate to your Home/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File ➙ Rebuild Library menu option
In the next window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments but not books, calendars or slideshows. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

I have just upgraded to os x lion 10.7.4 and I seem to have lost approx 4000 photos from iPhoto. Is there a way to recover these photos?
The Lion upgrade does not touch iPhoto. However, you may need to purchase an iPhoto upgrade.
Look in your /Home/Pictures/ folder for the iPhoto Library file. -

I made a huge mistake, my wife loaded pix under guest and as I closed it to get to my account pix were deleted. Is there any way to recover these pix? Please help!!!
You can try data recovery software, like Stellar Phoenix. That may (or may not) recover some or (probably not) all of them. Any that cannot be recovered have probably been overwritten and are gone for good.
Note that you should not do anything further with the machine until you have the data recovery software, and should not install said software on the machine, since that may overwrite the data you're trying to recover. You'll want to have some other drive you can boot from and use the recovery software from. -

I was trying to use my external hard drive to back up my mac computer. It had files on it from my pc computer. Time machine erased all my existing files. (I thought it was only going to erase the duplicate files and rewrite them). Is there anyway to recover these files from my external hard drive. My mac has renamed the hard drive time maching and it will no longer show up on my pc. What can I do?
Yes, the Old Master file has a folder for each year where I find all photos from that specific year. I am attaching a screen shot of the file.
In the meantime i have managed to download all photos (it did not download any video files though in mpg, avi, 3gp, m4v,mp4 and mov format) to a new iphoto library. Unfortunately the photos are quite mixed and often doubled up. I ma considering to purchase iphoto library which checks all duplicates in iphoto. this will save me a lot of time. What do you think? -
Note: I have an ipad as well, and the messages did not appear there either.
There isn't a way but I guess you could try turning iMessages off restart the phone and turn them back on. Just have the person resend them to you.

Is there any way to recover accidentally deleted photos?
Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 5.6 running on Windows 7 PC.
After importing a group of photos including JPG and RAW files from a memory card (which was later reformatted), I noticed that the photos ended up in a folder on the wrong external drive. I tried to move them to another folder on the main drive using Lightroom and somehow deleted the original files. I can still see them in a Collection, but they cannot be edited or Developed as the underlying file cannot be found. Is there any way to recover these photos? Willing to listen to all suggestions. Thanks for your input.Find an "undelete utility" (one such utility is called Recuva, but I have never used it) and see if it can recover your RAW photos. If you are going to do this, do not perform any other tasks on your computer except to find, download, install and run this undelete utility. If possible, download and install on a different drive than the photos were on. You can also try this undelete utility on your camera card.
While I'm at it, you might want to develop and implement a backup strategy, in which you don't delete from the camera card until you have TWO (or more) copies of your photos, on TWO (or more) different physical disks. And don't forget to back up your catalog file regularly and automatically. -
My 5 year old daughter was looking at photos and videos that we took while visiting the zoo yesterday. While looking at the various items, she somehow managed to erase a bunch of photos and videos from the device. I have not sync my ipod since taking the missing media so I can't use Itunes to get it back. Is there any way to recover these deleted items?
Sorry. They are gone.

Is there any way to recover deleted texts on iPhone?
I just accidently deleted a text string from my iPhone - is there any way to recover it?
To restore from a iCloud backup you have to put your iPhone into setup mode.
The steps to do this are given here: Transfer content from an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to a new device - Apple Support -
My daughter just synched her new iphone with her itunes account and it wiped out her contacts and pictures. Is there any way to recover them?
Sorry, unless she backup up the new phone before or is using iCloud to save the photos, the photos are gone.
