Re iPhone update download failure

I don't know how many times I've tried to download the latest update (l have an iPhone 4) and it fails each time giving error message 9006. When I look this up, it relates to security software, but I turned off my security software and it's still failing. Help???

Ok, discovered another firewall, PC Tools Firewall Plus, is up and running, but I can't find it to turn it off. When I search it gives me a link to my start menu, but that folder is empty, there is no other folder that I can find with this firewall in it, so how come it is running? Could that be stopping the download and how come it's never stopped any other downloads, like music, files from emails etc?

IPhone OS Update download failure -3259

I have been trying to download the latest OS for my iPhone using iTunes for the last 2 days.
It always starts and estimates 2 hours.
It always fails with error -3259
It has made it to 127MB one time.
I have updated iTunes, tried with and without firewall and antivirus, forwarded all ports in the router to my workstation........
I am connected to a T1 and am not experiencing any service issues.
There is no QOS running in the router.

I guess the 9th or 10th time is a charm. I finally got it to download. First, I made sure that all other Wi-Fi devices connected to my router were closed, so that nothing else was drawing from the server. Next, I restarted my desktop and only opened itunes. It finally fully downloaded. Not sure if what I did was the reason, but it finally worked.

IPhone Update Software Failure

Hi Folks,
I am currently running iOS 4.3 on my iPhone 4. iOS 4.3.1 is available so I tried to update it, however once the 666Mb file has downloaded and iTunes starts to 'process' the file, iTunes displays an error advising my network connection has timed out and the whole process has failed.
I have tried this on 3 different internet connections (yes, downloading the update file every time) and I am getting the same error. I keep getting prompts to update the software...if only it would let me!
Any ideas on where to go or what to do?

I didn't know you had Kaspersky. Yes, that's the problem. It's a great product, but it can be overly protective. You should be able to configure it to allow the firmware update, but it might be easier just to disable it each time you update (which should only be a couple of times a year).

Iphone update download error

I have been trying to update my iPhone 3G now for the umtieth time. It sometimes downloads up to 210 MB but the download never completes and instead iTunes reports: stopped (err = -3253). It also reports in a separate window: There was a problem dowloading the software for the iPhone (xxxx"s iPhone). The network connection was reset.
This seems to happen when our satellite broadband slows down slightly which makes me think that iTunes/Mac OS X resets the connection far too soon. Very annoying! Is there anything I can do about this?

Error codes in the 3000 range generally mean that iTunes cannot contact the gs.apple.com server on ports 80 or 443. This may be because out-of-date or incorrectly configured security or firewall software that is interfering with itunes attempts to contact Apple's servers. So, try disabling ALL security & firewall software.

Sprout Workspace Update Download Failure

In trying to update the Sprout Workspace software, I repeatedly receive a failure notice when attempting to download from the HP Support Website. The update for the MS Office Plug-in worked fine. Anyone else seeing this problem? Fix or workaround?

There was a short term issue with the update on the web page that has now been resolved.
Please try again either by running HP Support Assistant or manually downloading the update to your Desktop and installing it from there (Run as Administrator). I checked the update today and it is working.
A new version is available for the Sprout Workspace application, 2014-12-17 , Version1.0.3.1143 A, 292.06M, sp70135.

CC Update Download Failure

I am running CC on Windows 7 Ulitmate 64-bit.
It currently wants to update Illustrator, InDesign, Phototshop, and Dreamweaver but attempts to do that fail with:
Update Failed
Download Error. Press Retry to try agina or contact customer support (49)
Retrying results in the same error.
I tried to remove and reinstall Dreamweaver, which kind of worked, but it fails with an error in an update patch. Retrying takes me back to the above error.

You may want to look at temporarily disabling any active security software you have installed to see if that helps with the stability of your Internet connection.

Updates Download failure U43M1D204

Unable to get current updates for Photoshop, Bridge and After Effects (Camera Raw?) due to "Update Failed" message with error code. Was able to re-install Photoshop, but got a message that "Patch Failed" and it is apparently related to the update problem. Any news on this?

This worked and CC Updater now shows no updates outstanding. Can the renaming of the folders remain as I changed them. Also what did we do different, that Atul Saini's manual download link did not fix?

Iphone update download times out, has anyone else had this problem?

I was prompted through iTunes for a new iOS update (6.1) and have tried downloading 5 times now (both ways - just download, and also download and install). However, the download seems to time out. Is there a known way around this?

My "brute force" method finally worked - on the 8th attempt at downloading, I finally got the whole file and all is now well. "Keep trying" is not a very elegant solution, but it did work (each time I downloaded I did get further along before receiving the time out error code - so it was trending toward a solution).

3.0 update download error -5000

My wife has purchased the 3.0 update but all attempts to download retrieve a 0.4kB file and error -5000.
Similar problems are reported elsewhere but not this particular error number -5000. She has tried over several days so it is not likely to be a server problem. There do not seem to be any other network problems and I have ensured firewalls are off and no virus /blocking software is running.
In case it is relevant, we share the iTunes music folder and she only has read access to that. I changed it to read/write access in case iTunes was trying to store the download there but that made no difference.
Has anyone found a resolution to the update download failures?

This really sounds like a network or server error. Having the write access to that directory turned off was also a likely contributor. The actual update file is over 200 MB. If you haven't deleted (and emptied the trash as well) that file, do so before you try the download again. You also might want to repair permissions as well as switching permissions in the middle of something may have created a problem.
If you are the admin on the system, why don't you download it under your sign in. I'd be curious to see if you have problems.

I'll reload it tonight when I get home...basically, I bought a new iPhone and downloaded some new medical apps. also had to download an update for iTunes into my mac laptop so I could access iCloud (which was NOT on my prior iTunes software)

I'm having the same problem. Mine do not show up in the purchased apps. It seems like I had this problem before with a different upgrade & was able to resolve it by emailing the question to Apple directly. Now I can't seem to find how to do that on their website or if it's even an option. I guess we're just supposed to solve these problems ourselves.
