A book style slideshow with fairy tale effects?

Can anyone shed some light or just give me your input on doing a slide show for a couple who is getting married? The desire is to have the slideshow unfold as a fairy tale. A book with pages turning, each page is to include story(wording) and photo, I'll use a transition for turning page and adding fairy dust....Thank you in advance. MilliMac

Obviously I can't know exactly what is in your mind.
Are you thinking about a cover page with a title?
You could search some fairy tale books for a suitable picture to scan into your computer.
Over this you could make the title in a flowery font similar to Apple Chancery.
If the rest of the pages are composed of photos you could give them a border with a bit of a pattern. You could scan in the pattern from a book. Some programs like Photoshop Elements etc. have patterned backgrounds - don't forget LiveType.
These backgrounds could be put on track V1 with the photos above on V2. You could double click the phototrack and open Motion. Then scale them down to about 60 - 70% so that they sit in the centre of the screen with the pattern showing as a border around the outside.
Use the Page Peel etc. for each picture.
You will have to experiment until you find something that seems OK to you - even if it's not exactly what you had in mind originally.

Okay, Even if i remove the scene numbers from Story and export the file to Final Draft 8. The format in incorrect. The "transitions" ex. CUT TO: are not in the correct allignment. Also there are numbers on each of the dialogues
Pretty much alot of the formatting is not the same. Spaces that break dialouge and action which are there in Story, are not converted over to Final Draft.
Please fix this as soon as possible.

Story Markers not obeying end jump

Hello. I created a simple DVD with Stories -- 3 tracks each with 3 stories which correspond to the 3 chapters in the specified track. There is a Stories Menu with a button for each Story to 1) Play All (points to the track) and nine buttons, one for each Story Marker. The End jump for each Story Marker points back to the Stories Menu. The End jump for the whole Story is Same As Track. However, when simulated or played off a disk image, the story does not end jump, but rather continues to the next chapter. Have tried everything and searched for a solution, but it is confounding me.

What you should do is make a story for each section and set the end jumps for each story. So with 3 markers, play all story markers 1,2,3 and set the end jump for thee story (do not leave as same for track), section 1 story marker 1 set end jump for the story, etc. Should do the trick.

Story does not yet compare to Final Draft as a screenwriting tool

I was very excited to discover Story was included in the cloud - I was hoping I could use it to supplant Final Draft.
However,
Story is not a great tool yet and is not nearly at the same level as Final Draft when it comes to the writing experience. I am re-converting back to Final Draft.
Text typing is sluggish - I'm often waiting for the cursor to appear where I place my mouse, text takes time to appear - even in offline mode. The mouse doesn't move fluidly in the software - which actually is a problem when you are trying to place it for editing.
There needs to be many, more formatting options - there doesn't even seem to be an All-Caps option which is unforgivable in screenwriting software. Auto-complete is wonky and editing a character list to remove or re-order names is ridiculous (why wouldn't you auto-create a character list and let me edit that list easily from inside the writing interface - as opposed to some unintuitive, seperate character list that requires me to close my script?). For example, I have a character now named "A" that I cannot seem to remove from the project because I cannot access the auto-correct list.
And saying - "make a character list and then edit it" - is not an acceptable answer because the program should do that for me automatically (updating all the way) as I go.
Opening scripts takes way too long. Using the auto-format keys feels broken - I should type a sentence and then CNTL-# and be typing in the next element on th new line immediately, rather than having to hit the return key and THEN format. While that may be a preference of mine that isn't shared by others, I should be able to make the program do that easily (which is one of Story's failings - it doesn't let me manage my workspace nearly enough).
When I save, the script should open AT THE PLACE I SAVED. Especially when you force me to quit writing to manage the project frequently and loading scripts takes so long. This is a really annoying trait of the software and again seems simple to include or offer options for letting me set that preference in there somewhere.
The organizational options are really unflexible. I want all my scripts in one place - not each in its own project. Why force that? Why not be more flexible? For a company that makes things like After Effects - which has incredible workspace flexibility - this product feels strangely dictatorial.
The downloaded program is buggy (for example - the formatting bar is selected, but doesn't show, unless i select it again, the mouse feels loose).
It feels like the software was designed to do many things. What it isn't is a comperable challenger to Final Draft. Sorry. And I WANTED this to be the case.

What's the version of your exchange server?
Try to check if Message restriction is enabled on these users:
For exchange 2003:
1. Open ADUC, right click the user and choose properties.
2. In Exchange General tab, click Delivery restrictions tab, Make sure the user is allowed to accept message from everyone.
For exchange 2007:
1. Open EMC, expand to Recipient Configuration->Mailbox, right click the user and choose properties.
2. In Mail Flow settings, click Delivery restrictions.

Adobe story does not export lines of dialogue that are amrked with (CONT'D) into a csv file.

For some reason Adobe story does not export lines of dialogue that are marked with (CONT’D) into a csv file. The rest of the dialogue exports fine, bit the bits that are marked with (CONT’D) do not show up in the dialogue column !. Can this be changed with some settings or is this a bug? The script was imported from an FDX file. If anyone has a fix for this, please, let me know.

This is indeed a bug.
Just to get correct data in csv, a workaround for this issue could be to replace word 'CONT'D' with a place-holder word, perform an export-to-csv and then change it back.
1. Press Ctrl+F in script to open Find/Replace
2. Replace word 'CONT'D' with a placeholder word, say 'TEMPCONTD'
3. Export the script to csv
4. Now replace the placeholder word with 'CONT'D'

Fairy Tale Story Ending! iMac Related!

I would like to share my story from this past Christmas.
So I buy my daughter the Imac21.5 for Christmas. I'm on detail away from home for the past year so I wanted to get her something special, she's 16.
So since i'm in Georgia and she is in NY i'll need to fly the Imac on the plane. I want to take no chances so I want to carry it on and keep that thing in my lap. The baggage lady says, since it is Christmas travel, it will have to go in a carry on. I go out and buy 3 pillows and tape them all to the monitor ensuring a safe trip. The baggage lady assures me that the baggage will be handled carefully, and nothing will happen to it.
So I get on my plane leaving for my first leg of trip to Chicago. I get stranded there for 30 hours in the airport, meanwhile my daughter's Imac is enroute to Syracuse NY. Weather finally clears Chicago a day later and I get to Syracuse.
I find my luggage (which arrived a day earlier) and immediatly check on my daughter's Imac. Wham! Smashed, glass top broken etc. I goto the baggage desk and show them, the twit says, "thats not my problem". I said, "oh yes it is". And she refuses to give me a claim form saying that it is not covered. She would not even give me a baggage claim form at all. I ask for her name, and she only gives me her first name, and refuses to give me her last name stating that she doesnt have to because company policy states she doesnt. I ask for a manager, and she states she is the one who deals with this stuff and its too bad too sad. Well, little does she know, I just happen to be a federal agent who takes photographs for a particular agency which needs not mentioned. So I take pictures right there of my stuff that is smashed (and the lady who denied me a claim form), and displaying that I indeed took serious pre-cautions to safeguard the computer. My bags had to be tossed around violently for damage to have occured.
So here I am, having been stuck in Chicago and now my daughter's Christmas is ruined.
Like the good dad, the moment I arrive in Syracuse, I take the computer to the Apple Store. They fixed the computer and I had it back 2 days after Christmas. So it ended with my daughter still getting her computer.
Heres where it gets better. When I left the airport, I immediatly called customer support line for the airport and they assured me that the lady should have given me a claim form and that she will be disciplined. I was given a email to send my complaint to, and I sent a detailed write-up of the incident and the pictures to go along with it.
They responded that the lady in question had been unprofessional and terminated. I also received a check in the mail to cover the cost of a new Imac plus 500.00 to cover any lost software.
NICE!
So, I'll be going to the Apple Store again to get yet another Imac. Btw, it cost me 130.00 to fix the other one!
Score one for the good guys.....

I usually avoid speaking to agents of your government like they have the plague! But a Mac guy could be a good guy (so no one tell me if the terrorists are using Macs) so I will make an exception.
Good on you that you did not let that Grinch completely steal your Christmas. Good on your airline/airport for honoring your claim.

Adobe Story Will Not Update

Hello.
I have been trying for the longest time to get back on to Adobe Story to continue working on a screenplay I am writing. But all I ever get when clicking on it is that it insists on updating. After it does that, Adobe Air says it's preparing to start loading then stops and a warning pops up, saying "Sorry, and error has occured. This application cannot be installed because this installer has been misconfigured. Please contact the application author for assistance."
When I click the CLOSE button, the whole thing starts over from the beginning: Adobe Story installs an update, Adobe Air pops up and loads something, then stops and the warning shows up. Then it repeats AGAIN. I once spent several hours on this with no change. What is this?
I noticed in the discussion forums that others are having problems on this. I don't want to delete Adobe Story because I do have a screenplay already in the works and am afraid it will all get deleted. This is not an option for me, that cannot happen. I also do not have the foggiest idea when I downloaded Story in the first place, so I can't be sure if it was before all the new updates or not. Although I thought it was, maybe it wasn't.
I need help on this severly. Please, please, please help me not lose my work. How do I get passed this?

Even though I saved it, has it been deleted? Please tell me it hasn't been. I log on to my account on the adobe sight and all my work is gone. Same with the app version.

Adobe Story did not download

I downloaded the CS6 Premiere Family on my Macbook Pro and for some reason it skipped over Adobe Story. Has this happened to anyone else? I have CS6 Master Collection education edition subscription and have successfully installed it on my PC desktop.

I recently bought the education version of CS6 Production Premium and it does not contain a desktop version of Adobe Story (though an earlier purchase of After Effects CS5.5 did). I think Adobe's idea, now that the free version of Story has been so crippled - all the collaborative features, reports, etc, seem to have been stopped, presumably to encourage us to take out their vastly overpriced subscription. You might just as well use Celtx (free) or Scrivenor (cheap). I used to share my work on Adobe Story Free with another writer, which I can't do now, so we simply email each other copies of the script as a Celtx file, which we can both open, work on, and email back. Just about as quick and easy.

Story Plus not included with CC sub?

I just got a year membership with Adobe CC however when I try and use adobe story I can only use the free version, even though it says I am subscribed to plus... why is that?

Please make sure that the subscription plan you have opted for CC membership includes Adobe Story plus. If it's an education plan, it might not have Adobe Story plus available.

Adobe story is not going online, error "not responding", will not go online to sync

I am on a mac book pro, latest version, I am trying to go online, work online, in order to sync with the cloud so my writing partner can see the latest draft. never had an issue before and now it won't go online. I have signed out, closed the app, signed back in, tried different wi-fi's etc etc. nothing is working and I am needing to force quit the app because it is just not responding. I get the spinning beach ball.

I bought my imac in Nov 2011, not quite a year later I got the pink screen of death (I followed instructions to remedy) all seemed fine for a little while then when I played World of Warcraft it would crash. The mac would seem to be quite hot (top right of casing) anyway I took it back to the Apple shop, they looked it over told me there was nothing wrong. Seemed ok for a while but now my mac crashes even when not gaming. I have had every sort of crash I think possible, black screen, grey vertical pinstripe, black screen but can still hear everything I was watching ok, stuttering screen etc etc so I have to reboot to get back.
I did AHT, utility repairs, upgrade from lion to mountain lion erased & clean installed hoping that would fix it but no! tried smc fan fix but it won't let me get into that?
So I am guessing (I am a noob not an IT expert) that something major is wrong with the graphics.
I am also guessing a trip back to the apple store is imminent, at my expense (as I am now out of date for warrenty etc)
Any ideas? Help?

Worth a shot: Since you are only 5 months out of warranty, call Apple Customer Relations. Tell them exactly what you stated in your posting (politely). If you have any receipts or paperwork documentation from your trips to the AS tell ACR. See what they can do for you!

Adobe story is not loading. Once the program has accepted my password, it get stuck on the "loading" page.

This may be an issue with the Flash Player or the Browser. First try updating to the latest version of flash player. You can install the latest one from here: Adobe Flash Player Install for all versions<https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer>. Then try to login again. ?Can you also try a different Browser to see if that is the issue?
