RE: Podcasts, photocasts uploading  to i tunes podcast site

i am pretty new at podcasts
excuse the simple question
i notice that if i type in photography in the podcast site ( itunes) there are results that bring up people's personal
photoshows with music in the background. These are not the top ten listed but nevertheless they are available to subscribe to
i would like to be able to podcast my own movies using thekenburns effect on my photos with my music in the background ( from Garageband). Now my questions:
1. can i do this and upload it to this podcast site so that people could subscribe to it?
2.How do i use my own music ( GB3) my own photos ( iphoto 6) and Imovie to upload the whole production ( i guess thats called a podcast) so that people could subscribe to it?
is iweb simply a podcast that is geared for the web
whereas an uploaded podcast to the podcast directory is just for those who go to the podcast site?
anyone able to straighten this all out for me

"can i do this and upload it to this podcast site so that people could subscribe to it?" - you don't upload it to itunes directly, you upload it to a server and then inform itunes of it's availability. But yes.. you can do that easily in iMovie, export to garageband, publish to .Mac, submit to itunes.
"How do i use my own music ( GB3) my own photos ( iphoto 6) and Imovie to upload the whole production ( i guess thats called a podcast) so that people could subscribe to it?" welllllllll... ok, it's like this.
Create your music in garageband, export it to itunes, open imovie and import your song, use your photos, movies, and music in iMovie to creat your podcast. Export out of imovie to garageband (select the SHARE to IPOD command in the SHARE menu)
when in garageband, add any other voiceover, or other effects, then publish to .Mac and submit to itunes.
Hope this helps, if you need more, email me.

  • Help- Changing iweb podcasting site and adding feedburner

I set up a podcast with iweb then realized I wanted to change a few things.
    1. I want to change the website name in iweb from "Site 2" to "Awake Podcast"
When I do this it changes the feed, and I can't access the old feed.
    2. I wanted to change the feed to feedburner so I can track the podcast.
How do I do this? What order? Which feed to I adjust? What code do I need to add?
I'm new at this. Any help would be appreciated.
    Justin

In order to change iTunes to a different feed (and as you've found changing the site name in iWeb changes the feed URL by changing its name) you have to add a special tag to the feed:
    <itunes:new-feed-url>URL OF YOUR NEW FEED</itunes:new-feed-url>
This can't be done within iWeb which doesn't allow you to tamper with the feed. Download the existing feed from the server, Open it in TextEdit *IN PLAIN TEXT MODE* not Rich Text. Add the tag just below the 'channel' tag near the top of the feed (on a new line). The URL must be full and include the http://
Upload the feed manually to the server, replacing the existing feed.
Now change the name of the podcast site in iWeb and do a complete republish. Make sure that it hasn't over-written or removed the modified feed: you may need to upload it again, and you may need to recreate the folder it was originally in. Wait for iTunes to recognize the new feed - it shouldn't take long.
If you want to involve Feedburner you will have to submit the new version of the feed to Feedburner. Mke sure Feedburner have uploaded their version of the feed. Then you will have to download the new iWeb feed and modify it by adding the tag with the Feedburner URL. Once you have done this *DO NOT* do anything in iWeb until you are sure that iTunes has transferred to the Feedburner feed. Then you can add new episodes in the usual way.

  • How do I create a non-apple ID account for a new adminstrator for a Podcast Site Manager

http://myinfo.apple.com is inoperable.  I need to create a new account for an Administrator for our Podcast Site Manager account.  We have one that no one can access.  Can someone assist or point me in the direction of someone at APPLE that can?  I called their helpdesk and THEY couldn't even help.

I'm afraid I don't know anything about this: it doesn't appear to be relevant to ordinary podcasts. Is this an iTunes-U matter? - perhaps that forum would help.

       1. Use Apple's Express Lane.
Go to https://expresslane.apple.com ; click 'See all products and services' at the

  • ITunes Podcast Site Manager vs. iTunes U Public Site Manager

The link for help files for the iTunes Podcast Site Manager goes to "Using iTunes U Public Site Manager".  There are significant differences between these two iTunes administration sites.  I need help for iTunes Podcast Site Manager, not iTunes U Public Site Manager.
Specifically I need to set media types for our shows, and since a change to the iTunes Podcast Site Manager interface, I've not figured out how to do it.  The instructions (from "Using iTunes U Public Site Manager") say you do it on the Collections tab.  There is no "Collections" tab at the iTunes Podcast Site Manager.
Anyone know how I set media types in the iTunes Podcast Site Manager?
    thanks - john

can other people upload pictures to my iweb site and other people comment or rate them? if so how?

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. If you use a MobileGallery from iPhoto to house your photos and videos you can set it up in the settings so visitors can upload items to the gallery via email.
You can them embed the gallery in an iWeb page like this: MobileMe Galleries and Quicktime Movies.
I've not tried emailing a photo to a gallery so can't comment on how well it works.
For photo pages or album pages in iWeb visitors can add comments and attachments, photos, which other visitors can view. How they are added I don't know. Here's what the iWeb Help says about that:
    +*About visitor comments and attachments*+
+If you publish your site to MobileMe, you can let visitors add comments and attach files (which other visitors can download) to blog, podcast, and photos pages. These comments and attachments are visible to anyone who visits your website. To prevent automated programs from posting spam to your site, anyone who posts a comment is first required to type a displayed group of characters.+
+Comments appear as soon as they’re posted, and you can delete a comment and its attachment at any time using iWeb or by visiting your site with any browser. You can also turn off comments to prevent new postings without affecting the comments already posted.+
+Comments and attachments are stored on your iDisk. Each comment can be a maximum of 32 kilobytes (KB), and each attachment can be up to 5 megabytes (MB).+

  • How do I convert a word document into a pdf and then upload it to a web site

How do I convert a word document into a pdf and then upload it to a web site so people can read it from my
site with Dreamweaver 4?. How can I do this? Can anyone please help? I'm only a newbie. Thanking you in anticipation.

First you need to install a means of printing to pdf from word.  I like cutepdf writer ( http://cutepdf.com/Products/CutePDF/writer.asp ).  Once installed you will print the doc in word and under the printer selection you choose pdf.
Once you have the file you put it in your local site folders and upload it using Dreamweaver.  Be sure to link to it from a page so users can get to it and I would recommend giving the link a target of _black so it will open in a new window (see the properties inspector in DW).

Thanks for simplifying this for everyone, Murray.
Antimusic: While it is not possible to upload an Adobe video to your site, you can embed a video from http://tv.adobe.com using the embed code for the video. Is that what you were looking for?
    Thanks,

  • I keep trying to upload my resume on job sites on my iPad and there it seems that I don't have a program that is recognized. Is there an app I can get that will allow me to do this? When I click on the tab that says upload resume it says choose from galle

WHen trying upload my resume on job sites I only have the option to choose from photo library. Is there an app I can get that would help with this or one that is like Microsoft word?

Since the ipad, and all apple mobile devices do not have the file structure like on a computer the sites aren't able to locate your file.
Many job sites and employers allow you to 'copy and paste' your resume into a text box on their site.
If they have an email option, then that would be best.
I'm not aware of an app the will allow you to upload your resume. But this seems to be a poplular queston so there might be something in the app store.
