Re-register Blackberry

Hi,
I just bought a Blackberry Pearl 8100 on ebay that was advertised as NEW, never opened. The phones works, but when i tried to register the phone for the Blackberry Internet Service with my PIN and IMEI i got a message that says that the phone is already registered with another service provider and that should be re-registered.
I found out that the phone is branded as Global (a carrier from philipines). So i entered to the Global (BIS) website and when I entered the PIN and IMEI it says that this phone is not registered. So i don't get it, when i try with my local provider it says is already registered with another provider and when I try with Global it says is not registered.
Please can someone help me in order to register my phone with my local carrier?
Thank you very much!!

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
Need to contact your service provider to have your device properly provisioned with a BlackBerry data plan & your (BIS) BlackBerry Internet Service activated.
If it helped you, click like.

  • Stolen Blackberry - someone registering Blackberry ID?

    Hi everyone,
A friend of mine had her blackberry stolen yesterday. She's called her provider and they provided the IEMI number, so I presume it's blocked. However she recently got an email requesting that someone is trying to "register a new Blackberry ID". I assume they tried to register it but the phone is probably still using her email address.
Would it then be possible to track the phone somehow? I'm guessing as the IEMI number is blacklisted then they can't be using the phone's GSM functionality, so must be using Wi-Fi somewhere.
Can I get in touch with Blackberry to perhaps investigate or provide an IP to the authorities from where the ID request came from?
    Thank you,
    J

Has she reported the theft to the local police or law enforcement agency?
A BlackBerry can't be tracked from an IEMI, or its PIN.
The user would first have had to load/install some sort of tracking software like SmrtGuard or BlackBerry Protect. If she had installed something like this, and then had service blocked to the device via her mobile carrier, then even those applications will be disabled.
She should have asked her carrier to block or suspend the IEMI to the device. Some carriers will do this, some will not, and it is up to the carrier whether they will or not.
So, no, it can't be tracked under the circumstances you've stated. And likewise, BlackBerry or RIM doesn't investigate device thefts.

Likely because you don't have the correct data plan provisioned to your account.

  • URGENT HELP WITH BLACKBERRY ID!

    Hello,
I have a persistent problem with my BlackBerry ID. When I registered I stupidly entered my email address without the number in it, so it was incorrect. Unfortunately, this is the only email address the phone recognizes, so when I type in my actual registered BlackBerry ID and password, it tells me to 'Enter the user name associated with this smartphone.' When I do that, it tells me (correctly) that that user name does not exist.
So, how do I get my phone to recognize my registered user name? I can successfully log in to everything BlackBerry on my computer with it, but not my phone.
    Please help.
    Thanks.

  • Blackberry Z10 will work on GPRS?

I'm going to use Z10. For first set-up & registering Blackberry ID, Wi-fi connection sufficient or does it require Blackberry internet service? Also for using apps like facebook, app world, youtube etc., does gprs connection sufficient?

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
BB10 devices no longer use BIS, so no it is not required. Standard data plans are normally quite adequate to use BB10 devices for all BB-proprietary services, including all that you listed. Your specific situation may vary depending on your specific carrier and their plans, so you really would need to talk to them to be certain.
    Good luck!

  • Problem with registration

    hi...
i have this kind of problem, my gsm card already activate for BIS (Blackberry Internet Service) when i put into the phone, already try to register device to network using Host Routing Table, but after register to network, i do not receive any notification, and the edge is still in small letter instead of EDGE (this is when the device already successfuly registered to BIS service)
so anyone has knowledge on how to register blackberry to network so it can be activated on BIS
or this handheld of mine is broken? i have latest OS 4.6.1.199

Is your device new? It sounds as if it has been already registered previously and never removed from the previous account.
Call the previous owner and ask them to ask their carrier to remove the PIN from their account, or you can call that carrier and ask.

  • Bbz10 connecting problems

I have a blackberry data plan service but every 2 days it disconnects and can't see bb logo and I have to switch on wifi. I register blackberry and every time I call Vodafone they try to refresh the service but this time doesn't work at all. They still cannot support new bb 10.. Help please

It's not released in Egypt yet is it?
I'd suggest first off getting a new micro sim for the device. The newer technology on SIM cards if you're using an old one could make a difference.

  • BBM All in vain

    I had been struggling since yesterday to restore my BBM after switching on Z10 from Bold 7970. I have done the following so far;
    Hard Re-Boot
    Security Swipe
Switching ON flight mode then switching OFF
    Registering Blackberry in NETWORK category
    But all in vain.
I have an unlimited global data plan with service provider and my blackberry world ID is logging me in Blackberry World.
In the BBM set up, after clicking on first option of "Restore using Device Switch" TEMPORARY SERVER ERROR message pops up.
The service provider is helpless and suggested to escalate this issue on blackberry.com. So her I am.
    Any help??

Ask your carrier to escalate you to Blackberry support. No idea why your carrier would send you here to a community forum.
The community may be able to help, but they should have escalated you to BlackBerry tech support.

  • Free ePocrates Rx Pro offer from BlackBerry - I can't register my device!?!

I am a previous Palm user but now purchased a BlackBerry as my new device because of an offer for a free ePocrates Rx Pro (a medical software program) subscription with a new BlackBerry purchase.

There is notechnical support contact information listed anywhere.
According to the offer guidelines, I have to register within 14 days of the purchase, which will expire tomorrow as I have been trying unsuccesssfully to register for two weeks now.
Could somebody help me with this problem?
I hope that the BlackBerry offer was real!!!

  • Register with blackberry

Having problems registering my new phone with blackberry on orange, when I am on my pc I am told to put in my pin and IMEI number, which gives me the error message that this is not available on a HTML browser.
Then attempting to go on blackberry.orange.co.uk on my Curve I am given the change to manage my email accounts rather than register my phone.
    Can anyone help?
    Thanks.

Try doing this from your BlackBerry. Go to your Setup icon, or personal email setup icon.

  • How to register a blackberry with the appropriate service provider ?

    Hello,
I've just bought a Pearl 8100. I've inserted my SIM card and the phone is working ok. However I can not send or receive any email and can't access the net. When I bought it, I was told to contact my service provider (Orange - UK) to get the phone set up. That's what I did and I was directed to a web site (w3.blackberry.orange.co.uk) where you have first to register as new user by giving your PIN and IMEI. However I haven't been able to complete the task as a message popped up saying that the phone was already registered with a different service provider and that I had to re-register it with the appropriate one. I personnally never registered the phone before but basically that's what I have to do so I need some help because I have no idea how to do that... Thanks....

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!
You will need to contact your carrier for assistance. Be sure that you have an adequate service plan from them to enable your access to their BIS. Be sure that they can properly register your BB into their BIS. If you obtained your BB second hand, it is quite possible that the prior owner did not release the PIN from the Orange BIS...in which case your new carrier won't be able to create a BIS account for you on their network. And, typically, only the owner of the account (at Orange) will be able to convince Orange to release the PIN from their BIS...
    Good luck!
