Read Variable using DSP Test Integration Toolkit

Hi,
I am using LabVIEW DSP Integration tool kit to get some variable values from DSP code during run time. I am able to get symbol values if I am specifying symbol name as string input. I am expecting to read from LabVIEW code some global variable values, if i am giving variable name as string. I could not find any help over the same.
Any help to resolve the problem is highly appreciated.

This toolkit is no longer officially supported by NI, but you can download the VIs that were included in this toolkit, and there are still resources available on NI.com.

Hello,
After good experience with CCS2 & DSP Tollkit I've got CCS4 from TI.
There is no connection from the toolkit to this CCS version.
Is there is new version of the toolkit or some support ?

hello.... i am 3rd year electrical engineering student @ RVCE banglore India, and i am doing a project on low power MP3 players using LabVIEW as a development platform and i have the support of DSK 6713 DSP kit by TI in my Dept Lab... but as a student i can't afford NI LabVIEW DSP Test Integration Toolkit for the interfacing of LV with DSP.. so.. if somebody is having NI LabVIEW DSP Test Integration Toolkit, i request them to kindly give me that software which is absolutely required for the completion of my project... thanks in advance...

We're really glad that you are interested in the DST toolkit, however, it is inappropriate for you to request that someone upload a piece of software that cost money. This is the equivalent of asking someone to do something illegal for you. That having been said, your school may have the software already. I would contact [email protected] to see if your school has a license.

i have been trying to locate this particular toolkit "labview dsp test integration for TI dsp",but it gives me error "no content available. i have been refering to this particular book that guides on how to use labview with TI dsp.
check chapter 9,section 2(ie 9.2).

I did some more research into your issue and found out that unfortunately, NI no longer officially supports the DSP Test Integration Toolkit as seen here: http://zone.ni.com/devzone/cda/tut/p/id/5839
I also see that you located our example VI here http://zone.ni.com/devzone/cda/epd/p/id/4311 and that the VI asked you for a .pjt file that you could not locate in CCSv4. Being that we no longer support the DSP Test Integration Toolkit, your next course of action would be to contact TI and inquire what .pjt file corresponds to in the newest version of CCS. I hope TI can be of more help to you with this issue since, as I said before, we no longer support this toolkit.

How to call test Sequences developed by using CVI Test Execuitve toolkit in Test Stand?

There is a feature in TestSatnd which can convert CVI sequence to test Stand Sequences. But test stand is not recognising these sequences saying " not a valid CVI test sequence". Is there any version Issues, while converting these sequences to TestStand?

In continuation of previous question..
As per the suggestion, when I am trying opening one sequence(.SQU) file,developed in CVI Test Executive V 1.0.1., in CVI Test Execcuitve V 2.0.1, Executive is throwing error.
The Pop Error is " Section [Sequence] missing from sequence file c:\xxx.squ"..
and when I am trying opening these sequence file in sequence editor, the tool it self is crashing.
Please suggest!!
Is there any specific tokens which we need to add in .SQU files of V 1.0.1, so that V 2.0.1 can understand them? Just to check the possibility of manual updation of .SQU files.

I came to know about the LabVIEW DSP Test Integration Toolkit support for Code Composer Studio from the link http://zone.ni.com/devzone/cda/tut/p/id/5839. I would like to know if this works with Code Composer Studio version 4 also. I am using CCSv4 with TMS320C6748 board. If not, can you please tell me if NI has brought out any software that helps in real time data exchange between CCSv4 and Labview?

I'm afraid I haven't made my question understood clearly.
What I am looking for is a method to get the value of variable inside excel (e.g. put it into a cell / range of a worksheet, so that we can reference it and use it as an input for planning function execution).

I got error from my report as A READ-ONLY bind variable used in OUT or IN-OUT context in formula column. I already face this problem but at that time i cleared , but now i cont able to do, please give suggestion to this

I find my ERROR in that report, that A READ-ONLY bind variable used in OUT or IN-OUT context is
when we assign a database column in a placeholder are summary column.
From that placeholder or summary column will call by formula column
you might be face that error, But how means
when that database column , we are assign that decode, case or NVL funtion using else condition as Null you may be face that error.
Without my knowledge it may seem some other problem also
without any idea we con't able to clear this error.

Read shared variable using D/3 DCS

This is a rather odd question.. I think it can be done, but I have not yet figured how.
A client has a DCS System (I believe from NovaTech), which communicates with a database.
They use a different PC to get data from a cFP using Shared Variables.
There is mention of data being sent over a Modbus Interface.
They want to know if it is possible to read the Shared Variables directly using their DCS System. If the DCS was from NI, it would probably be easier to accomplish. However, I am not at all acquainted with the NovaTech product, but I believe there must be a way to innterface to it. Probably using Data Sockets and/or PSP Protocol.
I realize the above is rather obscure... I have sent an email requesting more info and I am preparing the next email. I figured that I'd better do some background investigation and ask proper questions.
Has anyone attempted such a thing or similar? How about reading Shared Variables from Non-NI software? I did find some threads discussing reading/Writing (to/from) Shared Variables using LabWindows-CVI, but I suspect this will be quite different. Maybe I'm wrong..

hi deviprasad...even i face the same problem whenever i tried using test configuration tool...
i think it means...its trying to make a connection : HTTP connection to ABAP Runtime ......which fails due to lack of proper authorization...
if u login to ur integration builder with a user having the proper authoriztion(i dont know exactly)...u can do the test..... coz during the test there is a connection between java and abap stack...
pls rectify me and convey me if u get the proper answer....or if i m wrong..
pls try to do use the test after login to IB through a user with maximum authorization....

How do I send SQL statement to SQL Server and return data without using Database Connectivity Toolkit?

Hi, I've been trying to figure out how to pull data out of my SQL Server databases and from reading some posts and doing some tests with examples, I can kind of get data connecting into my SQL server, but so far nothing that helps. Is it possible to actually get data out of a SQL Server database without using the Database COnnectivity Toolkit? and if so, how? are there whitepapers and/or examples of this? So far, I cannot find anything that works. thanks.

I haven't ever done it before in LabVIEW and don't have the time to do much of the research right now.
That having been said, you will want to look for either a .NET library or an ActiveX control. Aside from the toolkit, you aren't going to find a native solution to LabVIEW - which means using other libraries. A quick google search returns this:

Session variable using :GROUP variable in init block

I'd like to filter using session variable.
This session variaible should be build using :GROUP special session variable
I'd like do something like this (init block):

but it seems to doesn't work properly (It means I have always 'No' value)
After investigation i did some simple test
initialization block like this:
select upper(':USER'),upper(':GROUP') from dual
set variables using above init block: UPP_USER and UPP_GROUP
next i did simple reques with 4 columns:
*1. VALUEOF(NQ_SESSION.USER)*
*2. VALUEOF(NQ_SESSION.GROUP)*
*3. VALUEOF(NQ_SESSION.UPP_USER)*
*4. VALUEOF(NQ_SESSION.UPP_GROUP)*
and my result is:
1. Administrator
2. Administrators;IT_Deparment ....
3. ADMINISTRATOR
4. _:GROUP_
Why in 4th column I didn't get: ADMINISTRATOR;IT_DEPARTMENTS ....
Can I use special variable GROUP in initialization block?
Could someone explain it?

try (select 'VALUEOF(NQ_SESSION.USER)', 'VALUEOF(NQ_SESSION.GROUP)' from dual instead.
(You migth have to force a fill of the group variable first)

with Http Test Client you post your messages
directly to the Integration Engine (not using adapter framework)
so you can use Http Test Client to simulate any message
