Readability "Send to Kindle" no longer works with FireFox 14.0.1

Readability "Send to Kindle" no longer works, once I upgraded Firefox to 14.0.1 on a MacBook Pro running 10.6.8. The Setup Your Kindle page comes up, but after typing my Kindle's e-mail and selecting "kindle.com" from the drop down, your program no longer prompts "this may not be free" and just hangs there. I deleted my Readability plugins, redownloaded, and reinstalled. The browser icons have this affect, and just running the JavaScript function does the same thing. It works fine in Safari, and it worked fine before Firefox 14.

n Firefox make sure you have at least two (2) tabs open - (Ctrl+T opens a new tab)
In the address bar of one tab, type "about:config" - minus the quotes, of course
You'll see a warning. Click "I'll be careful, I promise" and continue to the configuration page.
There's a search bar at the top. Type "js" - again, minus the quotes.
In the results you'll see pdfjsviewer.disabled with a vaule of false. Click it once, then right click it and choose Toggle to make the value "True".
Close that tab.
Click Tools>Options and go to the Applications tab
Locate Adobe Acrobat Document (or Portable Document File (PDF)) in the list and click the drop-down to select "Use Adobe Reader (in Firefox)". (Mine doesn't have that because I also have Acrobat Pro installed)
Click OK.
Click Tools>Addons to see that the Acrobat plugin is installed
Close and restart Firefox. PDFs should now open in a browser window with the Reader plugin.
Note: This doesn't work for me since the update to 23 and I should have the choice of Reader or Acrobat plugins. Firefox is trying desperatelt to FORCE users to use their crappy PDFJSViewer, which doesn't handle multimedis or forms PDFs.
As to the NPAPI and security risks, that's blown WAY out of proprotion. There are antivirus companies trying to sell their products to Mac users (who will NEVER need them) and they use this "urban legend" to bolster their case.

• DigitalPersona no longer works with Firefox 4.01

My HP laptop has a fingerprint reader which provides the "key" for digitalPersona personal -- which remembers and enters usernames and passwords for websites. When I upgraded to Firefox 4.01 it no longer works. I can swipe my finger, but digitalPersona no longer recognizes the login pages.
I do not normally use IE, but the package seems to still work in IE.

• Flash no longer works with Firefox 13

so I have Firefox 13.0.1 and upgraded flashplayer to 11.3 and flash no longer works. I've tried lots of things, but finally downgraded flas player to 11.2. Still no joy. The only way I can get Flash to work is if I start Firefox in safemode with add-ons disabled. If i manually disable add-ons from within Firefox is still doesn't work, so I guess that isn't quite the same as the safemode disabling. I don't have RealPlayer installed. I tried creating a new profile, but still no joy. Any other ideas for me to try please?

• Tabs in Yahoo premium mail no longer work with Firefox 37.

In Yahoo mail premium-add free I can no longer access or close tabs. Messages open in tabs, tabs persist but I need to exit mail to close them. I can get back to In box and other categories but not the tabs. I figured it was Yahoo until I noticed the functions work with Chrome. Note: The free yahoo does not have multiple tabs and appears to be working normally. Regards

Make sure that this also does not happen in Safe Mode:
Try Firefox Safe Mode to see if the problem goes away. Firefox Safe Mode is a troubleshooting mode that temporarily turns off hardware acceleration, resets some settings, and disables add-ons (extensions and themes).
If Firefox is open, you can restart in Firefox Safe Mode from the Help menu:
* Click the menu button , click Help and select Restart with Add-ons Disabled.
If Firefox is not running, you can start Firefox in Safe Mode as follows:
* On Windows: Hold the Shift key when you open the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.
* On Mac: Hold the option key while starting Firefox.
* On Linux: Quit Firefox, go to your Terminal and run firefox -safe-mode <br>(you may need to specify the Firefox installation path e.g. /usr/lib/firefox)
When the Firefox Safe Mode window appears, select "Start in Safe Mode".

If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, theme, or hardware acceleration. • Veetle is no longer working with firefox, any idea why, or how to fix it??

As of two days ago, Veetle channels no longer appear using Firefox browser v. 8, yet seem to work perfectly fine with Google Chrome. Although similar issues have been raised in previous questions they (1) deal with earlier versions of FF, or (2) I have already attempted the posted remedies to no avail. Any idea what is causing the problem, and how to fix it? Furthermore, in your "educated guesses" below, you don't show the plugins I have for Veetle, although I do have them.

Right-click on any blank space on the Veetle page. A dialog box will appear, at the bottom will be listed "View page Info." Clicking on "View page Info" brings up a Firefox dialog box with the following tabs: General, Media, Permissions, and Security. Under the Permissions tab there are six functions listed that may be "allowed," or "blocked." Inspect the function for "Set Cookies." If this setting is checked "block," channels will not be displayed in Veetle. In order to recover the channels, "Set Cookies" must be checked for either "allow," or "allow for session."

• Roboform no longer works with Firefox 3.6.2 -- what do I have to do?

I reinstalled Firefox 3.6.2 due to HDD crash when I lost all my software. My Roboform used to work just fine with Firefox before the crash. I already paid Roboform for my software but I do NOT have an account nor a password. What is going on!!??? HELP
Laverne
P.S. I also tried FF 3.6.10 and 3.6.9 -- same problem

Please contact Roboform for support, especially since you are a paying customer.
Roboform seems to have at least two different programs available now and I suspect that you installed the wrong Firefox extension for the "paid" version of their software. <br />

I think this extension - https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/750/ - is what goes with their "paid" service.

• EMBED SRC="sound.wav" HEIGHT=1 WIDTH=1 HIDDEN=TRUE No Longer Works with Firefox 22.0

I am a web developer and ever since the Firefox 22 update, sounds no longer play for any users on the website. I have even recreated the problem myself on a clean install of windows 7/clean firefox/clean quicktime install. The sound code worked flawlessly prior to the 22.0 update and has caused a big rift between my users and myself, mostly blaming me and not putting any blame on Mozilla. It has been frustrating as all of us have tried to work through our own ways/solutions with absolutely no fixes. The sound in question is located at http://www.trophyfishingonline.com (sorry but you'd have to register/login) but after, you click simply "Test Sound" and it will attempt to play. Prior to installing Quicktime, it did instruct me to download the plugin which I did and it did not work or play. Again, this worked flawlessly years for everyone(including myself) on Firefox and suddenly it does not work across the board for hundreds of users on different platforms, installations, etc. Please help - this is a bit of an emergency as a web developer who relies on the Firefox platform for his business.

I found the related bug (looks like it will be fixed in Firefox 23)

• My facebook games, farmville and cafe world, no longer work with Firefox 4.0, why?

When I try to send gifts or requests for help in either of these games, my friend list will not load. When I use Internet Explorer, they work fine. I did not have this problem when I used the previous version of Firefox. And my older version of Firefox was much faster than Explorer, so I prefer to use Firefox, but it won't work correctly with my games.

The best bet would be to contact the add-on developers and let them know you'd like to use their extensions on the new version.
You can use Add-on Compatibility Reporter to do this.

• Quicken download from Citibank no longer works with Firefox 4.0

I used to be able to download transactions to Quicken using Firefox 3.x with no problems, but now it doesn't work when trying to do the same thing using Firefox 4.0. There are two symptoms of the problem:
1) Clicking on Account Activity -> Download Statements from the initial page does nothing.
2) After clicking on "See All Account Activity" from the main account page, then clicking on "Download Your Statement", then choosing a date range and "Quicken" format, nothing happens, except that the page refreshes as if you hadn't clicked any date range or format.
If I set it up to use IE Tab 2, then it works OK, except that I then have to log in twice -- once on the main page, then again when it switches to IE Tab 2.
I would prefer not to use IE Tab 2 (or IE) to do this download, because I have more control over the download if it gets done via the Firefox engine.
I don't know whether FireFox 4.0 or Citibank is at fault here; I was able to use Firefox 4.0 to download a statement from a different credit card company yesterday with no problems.

• LLoyds internet banking no longer works with firefox, ok with IE

i have been happily using Firefox and LLoyds banking for years. now it does not work. i get past login screen to "my accounts", which correctly displays balances etc. (There are some spurious characters a third of the way down on top of the usual layout). As soon as i try to actually do anything else, the page resets to the login page.
This has been posted a year ago by someone else and i have tried what was suggested ie:
1) clear cache
2) delete cookies for the lloyds pages

But i still get the problem. The website is fine using IE but i dont want to!!

• The visitor counter on my website no longer works on Firefox but still works in ME. How do I fix it?

I have a free visitor counter (by easycounter.com) on my website. It has been working fine in both Firefox (3.6.16) and MS Internet Explorer.
Yesterday, I noticed it no longer works with Firefox but still fine with MS IE.
Earlier in the week I did download a few add-ons recommended by Firefox.
Can anyone advise what the problem might be and how to fix it? The code for the counter is still intact on my page at www.qsl.net/ve3bdb.
Thanks in advance.
Incidentally, the page now takes forever to load when using MS IE, but I don't know if that's related.

No problems here with that visited counter on your website.

Start Firefox in <u>Safe Mode</u> to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
