Reader 8.1.2 display/memory limits?
I work on graphics-heavy books, which I convert into PDF to send to my printer. A typical 192-page project with all pages as 1200-dpi bitmap art is around 300mb once converted to PDF.
Since upgrading my Reader from 7x to 8.1.2, I've encountered a peculiar problem when reviewing my files (besides hanging and generally running horrendously slow)... after displaying a number of pages (roughly 176), the Reader will not completely finish loading the file, giving the error "Couldn't find XObject named 'Im0.'" The file itself is not corrupt, as I can open and view it within older versions of Reader with no issues, and Acrobat Pro 6 (and I've tried this on several computers with the same results.) Also, if I open the file in Reader 8 and simply jump to the end of the file, I can view them... so the problem definitely seems to be related to the amount of data it views/loads.
It seems to me that Reader 8.1.2 has memory issues, but then again I'm not software-literate. Is this a known problem? More importantly, is this an issue that affects the entire Acrobat 8x family?

I have the following Lenovo notebook :
Product: ThinkPad T61 8898-55G [change]
Operating system: All [change]
Original description: T7100(1.8GHz), 1GB RAM, 120GB 5400rpm HD, 14.1in 1024x768 LCD, Intel X3100, CDRW/DVDRW, Intel 802.11abg wireless, Bluetooth, Modem, 1Gb Ethernet, UltraNav, Secure chip, Fingerprint reader, 4c Li-Ion, WinVista Business 32
I configured my Notebook with a Dual-boot Windowx XP Pro SP3 and Windows Vista Bussines SP1 (32 bit)
I have 2x 512 MB PC2-5300 667 MHz DDR2 memory inside.
I read on the Lenovo site :
Memory Compatibility
(**) Windows Vista supports up to 4GB maximum memory (32-bit versions of Windows Vista cannot support 4GB). Windows XP supports up to 3GB maximum memory
I like to update my memory with
2x 40Y7734 1 GB PC2-5300 667 MHz DDR2
or
2x 40Y7735 2 GB PC2-5300 667 MHz DDR2
I like to know if I choose for 2x 2GB , will :
Windows XP SP3 work just fine only it works with 3GB instead of 4GB installed memory
Window Vista SP1 (32-bit) with the 4GB (even not supported) work stable ?
Because the prices of 1 GB and 2 GB won't change much nowadays.
I prefer to use 2x 2GB modules, but I like to know will it work (even with the memory limitation) stable on XP or on Vista
or it is better/safer to use 2x 1GB modules
Can anybody help/explain me or advice me ?

Message Edited by electronic on 01-16-2009 09:51 PMYou're better off with 2x2GB, you may decide to run a 64-bit OS someday...and you will notice a difference between 2GB and 3GB when running a 32-bit OS.

I need to update iOS 6.1.3 on my iPad2 to 6.1.6, due to security issue. Why is no update available? I do NOT want to install iOS 7, due to memory limitations.
Any upgrade will be to the most recent, compatible version, in this case 7.0.6.

Memory limitation to load a Jpeg
Hi all,
I want to use the loader component to load an image within my
Flash lite movie, when I try to do it with a Jpeg (612pix X 792 pix
/ 96dpi X 96dpi), the device emulator says me in runtime:
Problem with content: 11 - Not enough memory available to
decompress
if I do the same with another Jpeg (533pix X 526 pix / 96dpi
X 96dpi) there is no problem.
My question is: what are the memory limitations to load and
to display an Image (Jpeg or bitmap)?Hi Thamis,
Take a look at the flash.net.FileReference class here:
http://livedocs.macromedia.com/flex/2/langref/index.html
This is the built in Flash support for file upload. You'd
handle the upload with a servlet/jsp/etc. server-side component to
save it to disk or as binary data in a database.
Best,

Hi, I have implement push notification services for my Windows app . I used shell toast to display the notification on my app. The notification does come through but is cut-off - displaying only limited contents, I need the whole
set of contents to be displayed on the notification. I don't have much idea of windows app 's push services , can any one help please ?
NikithaHi Nikitha,
This is by design, ShellToast will only show the limited content, this is consistent with the design principle of notification, see
https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/apps/hh465391.aspx
Present information in the simplest possible form. If your content doesn't require a headline, omit it. A message such as "Your download is complete." is entirely complete and needs no additional presentation.

When I open about this mac -> more info and I switch through the tabs (display, memory, storage, support, service) it lags (fps drops, animation looks choppy not smooth) even though all the mac (programs , interface ) works smooth . Why does this happen? (over 300 gb free, same programs installed, free desktop-downloads -no garbage there- everything neat and tidy.) Need some help. Only there it the animations goes like 2 fps and is not smooth. I do not understand why because the programs are the same so its the usage. Nothing is changed, yet i experience this little issue for a couple of days.
OK, I'm confused. When I do About this Mac > More Info in OS10.9, I don't see any animation other than the window resizing. Is that the animation you are describing?

Apple OS/X 10.4.1 Memory Limitations?
I just read this about Linux memory limitations this morning...
http://www.linux.com/feature/119287
How does Apples OS/x 10.4.1 fit into this picture? What are the OS defaults when it comes to memory? What are the equivalent commands that I could use to check and configure this?
Thanks in advance...I'm not sure what you want to check. I'm not familiar with all the Unix commands, so I'm not sure if Unix has a command that tells you how much RAM you can install, especially because that limit is more one of the hardware than the OS.
If what you want to know is how existing RAM is being used then you can use Activity Monitor (Utilities folder) or the Unix command 'top'. Use the Terminal in your Utilities folder to run 'top'. -
Memory limitation for session object!
what is the memory limitation for using session objects?
venuas already mentioned there is no actual memory limitation within the specification, it only depends on the jvm's settings
how different app-server handle memory management of session objects is another part of the puzzle, but in general you should not have problems in writting any object to the session.
we had the requirement once to keep big objects in session, we decided to do a ResourceFactory that returns us the objects, and only store unique-Ids into the session.
We could lateron build on this and perform special serialization tasks of big objects in the distributed environment.

Adobe reader x eats up my memory
I run my adobe reader x (10.1.1) on windows 7. In most cases, when i open the first pdf file, everything works fine. Problem occurs when i try to open the second one. The reader stop working and the memory usage goes up to like 1.6 Gb and keeps increasing. I have to end the prcess before it eats up all my memory. But for some other files, like the pdf file from http://unicode.org/charts/PDF/U0370.pdf, i cannot open at all. Is it a universal problem or just a special case happen to me?
Thank you for the reply.it happens to both. I can see multiple instances of Adobe Reader, only one of them is acquiring large amount of memory
As for the pdf i linked, when i tried to opening it, everything stucked. Two processes of adobe reader were shown in task manager, and one of them used up almost all memeory. So i had to terminated it. For other pdf files which caused problems (when they are opend as a second pdf file), i can always reopen it as a first pdf file without problem. This one is different; i can never open it, no matter open it directly or download it and open it locally. i don't know why.
One thing stranged is that this issue never happened before until two days ago, i used to open 10+ pdf file for paper reviewing.
Thanks for your reply. -
Standard Edition Memory Limitations
What is the upper memory limitation for the SGA size when using Standard Edition 9.x on Windows 2000?
What about Enterprise?According what I know the SGA in one OS is limited by the OS and the parameter SGA_MAX_SIZE. I have never heard that SGA has limitations related to the license.
SGA_MAX_SIZE
Parameter type
Big integer
Syntax
SGA_MAX_SIZE = integer [K | M | G]
Default value
Initial size of SGA at startup, dependent on the sizes of different pools in the SGA, such as buffer cache, shared pool, large pool, and so on.
Parameter class
Static
Range of values
0 to operating system-dependent
SGA_MAX_SIZE specifies the maximum size of SGA for the lifetime of the instance.

DV6500 Physical Memory Limitation to 3gb
Hi All,
My DV6500 Entertainment PC came with Windows Vista 32-bit preinstalled which limited my usable memory from 4gb to 3gb. I recently upgraded to Windows Home Premium 32-bit which I believe has a physical memory limitation of 4gb (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/desktop/aa366778%28v=vs.85%29.aspx#physical_memory_l... but upon inspection my windows still shows 3gb usable memory. Is there something I need to tweek in windows or bios to fully use all 4gb as installed on my laptop? Thanks in advance.
This question was solved.
View Solution.Hi:
That's what this forum is for...asking and answering questions.
So there is absolutely nothing for you to be sorry for.
Unfortunately, there is no way you can re-map or re-dedicate the memory configuration. It is what it is.
However, your PC's BIOS may have a setting to allow for more dedicated graphics memory to be used.
I was very surprised to see that in my dv6810us BIOS, there is a video memory setting. The default is 64 MB. However, I could change the setting to 128 MB or 32 MB.
So, I changed it to 128 MB.

Hi...
I have tried to use more than 2 MB memory (using memory blocks) on FPGA. During compilation Xilinx tool chain generated error "AR #21955"....which is explained as memory limitation (in xilinx website). Can't we create memory blocks of more than 2 MB?? (or) all memory blocks size in a vi should not cross 2 MB??. I need to create arbitrary wave forms of milli/micro second precision for some minutes......so i need many no. of points to get required waveform....Is there any way to achive it....when I transfered each point from a RT vi (not on FPGA) it takes more time (to transfer data from RT vi to FPGA vi for every iteration).
Thank you,
Cheers,
RavinderThe size of the memory blocks you can allocate in the project and use in your FPGA VI is limited by the size of the memory available on your FPGA device. This memory is in the range of 80-192 kB depending on which FPGA device you are using. Please check the data sheet or manual for your device for details.
http://sine.ni.com/manuals/
So unfortunately you will not be able to store the complete waveform on the FPGA device.
Your best option is to stream the waveform from host memory to the FPGA device using DMA and generate the data from the DMA FIFO in the FPGA VI.

I have an HP dv6448se that originally came with Vista x86
I have recently upgraded the OS to Win7 x64
The listed memory limitation of the laptop is 2048 (2GB)
What is it that limits the ram to 2GB? Is it a hardware thing, or was it an OS thing? Would the new OS recognize two 2GB chips, or am I stuck with two 1GB chips?Hi:
