Reader version listed in GUI does not match that of executable file (again)

I posted regarding this issue before (http://forums.adobe.com/message/4817948), but was never able to find an answer.
Presently I am deploying Adobe Reader 10.1.5 via the MSI installer and group policy. The issue is that a user shut down her Windows 7 computer midway though the MSI installation interrupting (i.e. screwing up) the installation process. I had to delete a few registry entries and reboot the user's PC in order to re-initiate the Reader installation (something I've done in the past).
To verify that Reader was installed sucessfully, I browse to the Reader executable (AcroRd32.exe) in Program Files, double click the executable, select About Adobe from the Help menu, check the version number in the information box and see that the version number is 10.1.4 (i.e. the old version that I am upgrading from). However, when I browse to the Reader executable (AcroRd32.exe) in Program Files and and open the file properties, I see that the version is 10.1.5 (i.e. the new version that I am upgrading to).
So the Reader version listed in GUI does not match that shown in the executable property box.
This is the second time that this has happened with a Windows 7 PC. I've never experienced this sort of thing with a Windows XP PC.
Why is the version number different in the GUI? Where is the version number read in from for the GUI? The registry? Can anybody shed some light on this situation?

Let me clarify that the tool posted on http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html is not the uninstaller for Reader. Instead it is a cleaner tool used for any botched up installation as mentioned above. This utility should only be used in rare circumstances. Instead reader has its own uninstaller which can be used through ARP (Add Remove Programs) in Windows or you can also use the command line "msiexec /x AcroRead.msi" to uninstall Reader.

I have an interesting situation...
I have Adobe Reader X installed on a Windows 7 desktop. When I go to the Reader installation files right click on the executable (AcroRd32.exe) and open properties, I see that the version is 10.1.4.38 and that the update date is July 28th 2012 (Which is consistent with the Reader X 10.1.4 release date). However, when I double click the same executable file and open About Adobe from the Help menu, the information box that appears states that the reader version is 10.1.3.
So the Reader version listed in GUI does not match that of executable file's properties. Very, very strange.
I am fairly sure that the version stated in the property box is correct, but am not 100% certain. So where is the version number read in from for the GUI? The registry? Can anybody shed some light on this situation?

App Signing Error, Number of Folios Does Not Match the Main Folio File

Hi All;
I have a 250 page standalone app that I am trying to compile for the Apple Store. I read through the forums and enabled "AppBuilderLoggingEnabled.cfg" in my user directory to capture the issue. Here is the snippet of the log that was created that, to me, shows why the app isn't being signed.

I've stripped out special characters from the article titles and re-built the app only to face the same error. I went ahead and created a new AppID in the Apple Developer Portal, created new provision files, and the error remains. I am now creating a new folio and importing the articles into the new folio to see if that will solve the "number of folios does not match" issue.
Any help or insight would be amazing. Thank you all.

I created a new folio and imported all of the articles again. After hitting "Create App" for this new folio, at about 10 pages in a "PDF Export" error stopped the create app process. I went into InDesign to update the layout for the 10th page to see that the PDF export issue was stopping me from updating the layouts as well. Something in the InDesign file wasn't playing nice with the folio creation, so I created two new InDesign files, deleted the article, and built a new article from scratch. I was able to import the new layouts as a new article to the main folio and hit "Create App" again. This time there were no issues with the creation process. I synched up the provision files in App Builder and was able to code sign the application.
I guess the moral of the story is to double and even triple check every article along the way to make sure there are no issues being introduced into the process that will ultimately cause headaches during the distribution phase of app creation!

My iPad was purchased and registered in the USA. I am on a temporary assignment in Mexico. I purchased a iTunes gift card. When I tried to redeem it I get an error message. "Your iTuens store ([?]) does not match that of the gift certificate ([?])". I seen on another post that I need to change my region. I did that and still get the same error. Any help is much appreciated.

If you have a US iTunes account, you cannot use a gift card
from Mexico in that US account. Additionally, you are supposed
to be in the US when using your US account.

Use the trackpad to scroll, thats what it was designed for. The scroll bars automatically disappear when not being used and will appear if you scroll up or down using the trackpad.
This is a user-to-user forum and most people will post on here if they have problems. You very rarely get people posting to say there update went smooth. The fact is the vast majority of Mountain Lion users will not be experiencing any major problems with the OS, or maybe with apps which are not compatible, but thats hardly Apple's fault if developers don't update their apps.

It sounds like you have two Apple ID’s and that is ok. Start with taking a look at the article below to go through and know how to use multiple Apple ID’s. You will need to make the decision to use one or the other if that is the case when it deals with your purchases. Does anyone know if it is possible to get rid of the message 'Could not use the history eraser because the current canvas size does not match that of the history state'?. It comes up if I hit the alt/option key while I have the eraser selected. Something I do by accident all the time.

The way you've described it, one gets the distinct impression you do not have a clue as to what the history brush does and how to use it.
You need to read up on it. Read the Help files and google for tutorials.
First you need to create an image (with actual pixels in it), edit it as desired, then make a snapshot of the edited image, then target the snapshot with the history brush tool, then go back in the History panel to the step before your edits and selectively paint your edits in with the History Brush.

Getting this error message as of this morning: The version of iOS on “iPad” does not match any of the versions of iOS supported for development with this installation of the iOS SDK. Please restore the device to a version of the OS listed below, or update to the latest version of the iOS SDK. I've downloaded the latest SDK and gone through the usual turn off and turn on again for iPad and computer, removed and reinstalled the iPad from Organizer and have no idea how to make apps build now. Okay these are the steps I took to solve the problem - they may not be the right ones for you but they've solved the problem and saved time hunting for some other solution. Firstly I changed my MAC system to Lion with the £20 download, then I deleted the old Xcode and installed the new version that is app based and doesn't support Snow Leopard, then all was well. I can now update my xcode via the app which is quicker and more logical and can update my iPhone rather than chug along avoiding updates as I need to update my existing apps on the app store and upload a new one.

2. I have setup my mom's ipad mini and wifes iphone 4 a while back and the accounts have merged almost. Some of their apps when I set them up show up on my app list, some of my wifes songs transferred to my itunes account, when I go to update my apps it asks me for their passwords and already has their usernames listed, all while logged in under my account. Also, when i log out and then log in under them, the same songs, movies, etc that are downloaded under MY account show up. Shouldn't I log in under them and see their songs, etc? Logout, log in under my name and see MY list?

Numbering in printed output does not match that in source after about 500 pages (RH 7)

Hi There,
I have just upgraded to RoboHelp 7 and have created a new
word template. As with the HTML source I work with, this template
has a numbered style called "step" which has nothing much special
about it.
I just published a word doc (*.doc) and noticed that - at
around pg 500 in the output doc - the numbering stops matching that
in the source document: each topic in the source doc starts at 1,
but after a cut-off point in the printed document each numbered
step starts to continue the preceding list (so if one topic ends
with numbered step 15, the next begins with numbered step 16).
I have compared the source files for topics that are "as
expected" and "not" and I cannot see any difference between the
HTML therein.
Has anyone else seen this / is there any known solution?

I can make the numbering correct throughout by selecting to
output not as a single document, but as separate chapters compiled
into a single master document.
This is not ideal, but is a satisfactory work-around. If
anyone knows any better solution, please reply!

HT1331 The menu on my airport utility does not match that which is described in in this article

I am trying to mount and share a 2TB USB WD drive on an airport extreme. This will be used for time machine backups and large video file storage.
I have successfully (at least the system said it was successful) written and read the graphics files and completed a full time machine backup on the drive.
There was a Time Machine backup on this drive, but Time machine didn't seem to want to use it, so I created another. The one I created is approximately the size of my MAC hard drive data, is called "bfmj9.sparcebundle" and is dated when the full backup completed. There is another folder in the directory called "backups.backupdb" which comprises many files which look like dates. It was last updated before I started to the backup yesterday.
So I called support and was given some instruction and Apple documents which seemed to have a different menu structure than what my AirPort Extreme shows. In particular, one says to:
Manually mounting hard disks using the AirPort Disk menu bar item
Click the AirPort Disk menu bar icon () and select the Base Station with desired USB hard drive.
Select the desired hard disk(s) (AirPort Disk).
Enter the username and password required to access the AirPort Disk(s).
When I click on the menu item, I do not get the list of hard disks.
Perhaps I have set the disk up incorrectly. The strange part is that both the new time machine backup and my other files are behaving properly.

Apple updated the airport utility but have not updated the documentation for some time.. really slack considering it is significantly different.
The new utility is a poor substitute for the original and perhaps by not publishing new manuals they can hide their shame at how much functionality they removed.
It is possible to load a real utility even into mountain lion.. I strongly recommend you do so.
Download the real utility.

Click to open the DMG so you can see the pkg file.. do not proceed further. It cannot install onto ML.
Download unpkg, install and run it.
http://www.timdoug.com/unpkg/
Drag the airport utility pkg onto unpkg.. and presto.. it will be unpacked to a new directory on your desktop.. AirPortUtility56 .. now drill down to Applications Utilities. And there is your new shiny tool.. drag it to your existing utilities folder.. or just start from there.
Not hard and unpkg is free.
You cannot remove 6.1 toyland version so just ignore it.. as it richly deserves. Do not attempt to run both.
Just remember when you want the airport utility start the real one. 5.6
