Reader X says document can't be printed

I have a simple 1 page PDF document. I get two error messages "The document could not be printed", followed by "There were no pages selected to print" when I try to print it to a HP 5520 printer. Nothing happens at all.
I'm running Windows 7, Adobe Reader X (10.1.12).
I can print from other programs.

Try
disable Protected Mode [Edit | Preferences | Security (Enhanced)]
change View documents in PDF/A mode to Never [Edit | Preferences | Documents]

PDF Documents can not be printed

Recently, after a new Adobe Reader updated, I can not print PDF document any more. (Word documents all can be printed.) Every time when I clicked "print", the error messag "Before you can perform print-related task such as page setup or printing a document, you need to install a printer."came up. I uninstalled the Adobe Reader 8 and installed Adobe Reader x, but no use. How can I solve this problem?

Try deleting and re-installing the printer.

Adobe Reader 8.1.2 : can not change Printer Command

Hello all,
I encounter the following problem with Acrobat Reader 8.1.2, installed on Debian GNU/Linux, trying to print :
When I choose a printer (within the list given by a CUPS server) I can not change the Printer Command which prevents me from printing : the default printing options (-o InputSlot -o PageSize ...) are not compliant with my LPRng printing system.
Note that I was able to do it with 7.0.5 and 8.1.1 versions.
Would you please help me to resolve this problem ?

Hello Jean-Noel,
The print command text box (in the Printer properties dialog) has been made read-only to avoid confusion and discrepancies with the drop-downs available to modify the options.
If you want a particular print command to be used you could try out the Custom printing option. The command typed there is remembered between different sessions of the Reader.

I updated to Reader 11.0 and can no longer print PDF files

I have restarted my computer and tried PDFs from multiple sites, including ones I have previously been able to print. Adobe repeatedly tells me there are no pages selected to print. There are definitely pages selected.

Having trouble loading adobe reader, it says it can not be loaded

I am having trouble down loading adobe reader, it keeps telling me it can not be loaded. I had it on my computer but it kept giving me a screen that I had problems with the adobe reader?

I am using windows xp with #3 updates. I was trying to download adobe 9.3 and the system would not let it download. I was using adobe reader and it just stopped working. I have now removed all of adobe froom the computer and downloaded adobe 8.2 and it is now working. I just can't update it to a newer version.

I made a document in pages this morning and attempted to open it just now, but it says "document can't be opened". I have tried restarting the app and ipad, nothing seems to work. I can't email it to myself either, because it can't create an email or export the document because the 'creating email,page just loads forever. I need this important document ASAP, please, do you have any suggestions? The app and my ipad 2 are both updated.

Have you tried going to iCloud.com and see if you can open the file on your computer? If that doesn't work, more than likely the document isn't going to open. It's corrupt for some reason, and without being able to get into the file, there is no way to email it or change the format as you already know,

Document can't be opened in pages

Created a doc in pages on my ipad. Now it says "document can't be opened". Will let me copy but not email or save to itunes. It is in the icloud but tells me I need a newer version of pages for icloud. Won't let me open on my mac either. Can anyone help - need this file! Have checked on other forums and some people say to open in an older version - how can I download an older version of pages either on Ipad or mac. Have already tried deleting pages app and reinstalling.

After upgrading the iPad, iPhone, and Mac to the brand-new Pages (and latest OS numbers released on October 22), had the problem Sandro described:
Created a document in iPad Pages
Opened and edited the document in Mac Pages
Got "Document can't be opened" when attempting to open the document in iPad Pages
My solution: power off then power on iPad. Now the Pages documents open fine on the iPad too.

I am using pages on my iPad. I have been working for several weeks on a document. I tried to open the document on my iPad and it says "document can't not be opened". When I go to pages for iCloud and try to open the document I get the message "You need a newer version of pages for iCloud to open this document".
Is there anyway to recover my document? I have hours and hours of work and I would hate to lose it.

Pages for Mac document can't be opened on Pages for Ipad?

If I create a doc with any of the templates availables in Pages for Mac (Mountain Lion, and stored on iCloud), shouldn't be possible to edit it in the Pages for iPad (IOS 7) version? It just says "Document can't be opened" or something like that.

That is not true to my knowledge, as you can reopen the file from iCloud on the Mac without problem.

Again, where are you getting this from? My understanding is that formatting from OSX is retained but a degree of it can't be edited or created in iOS.

Where are you? Generally you can get phone support depending how and when you bought either your device or software.
Yes unfortunately Apple periodically makes statements that are not true and has been held to account by the consumer authorities. It has happened here in Australia and the EEC has done the same. Unfortunately it is based in the USA where in recent times corporations have not been held to account.

Why can't I print a document from a website using Adobe reader?

Adobe has been bugging me to update to latest version, so I finally did (got so sick of it popping up all the time on my screen). Now that I have, I can't print out anything off a website. It keeps saying, "Document cannot be printed" or something like that - and then it tells me that no document is selected, yet it clearly is selected. Anyone know what's going on?

I can print word documents, internet pages etc. But today I can not print anymore my pdf document, although printing is allowed and only copying is forbidden.
How to solve the problem with the pdf?

Can't read on-screen documents in Pages or Numbers, but they print correctly. Any suggestions?

Shortly after installing Yosemite on my iMac I had a system malfunction which meant the OS had to be re-installed. Since then I have not been able to read any iWorks documents, Pages or Numbers, on the screen, nor produce any new documents. The font colour is set to black and it doesn't make any difference if I enlarge the font or change the colour; I am still left with a blank screen. The same goes for Pages and Numbers documents downloaded from my external hard disc. Bizarrely, the documents print out perfectly. Has anyone any idea how I can get round this problem? Ted Cox

In a word, yes. In a little more detail.... When you restore from an iCloud backup, you must erase the device and start all over again. There is no other way to access the backup in iCloud without erasing the device. Consequently, you are starting all over again. Therefore, it would also be my assumption that Pages and Numbers will work again and that the deleting apps issues would be fixed as well.
If the documents are not in the backup, and you do not have a backup elsewhere, the documents could be gone forever.
