  • BW Bex Browser in SAP GUI for JAVA 6.40 R2.2 for Linux Desktops

    Hello,
I am using SAP GUI for JAVA v 6.40 R2.2 on a Linux desktop. But during the installation it doesn't ask for BW Bex installation option (as in SAP GUI for Windows). Is it the case that BW Bex is not supported in Linux Environment? If it is then kindly suggest some way to install the same.
    Regards,
    Yashodhan

    Hi Yashodhan,
the Business Explorer does not exist in the Linux environment.

  • SAP GUI for SAP BW 3.5 on linux RHEL 4 oracle 10.2.0.2 & kernel 6.40

    Hi all,
Pls let me know wat version of SAP GUI can i use for "SAP BW 3.5 on linux RHEL 4 oracle 10.2.0.2 & kernel 6.40" and where can i find it in service market place.
    Thanks in advance.
    Praveen

    use my links:
    software is located at ftp://ftp.sap.com/pub/sapgui/win/640/compilation5
    patch is at ftp://ftp.sap.com/pub/sapgui/win/640/patches
in summary you need to download and install these components in this order:
    1. ftp://ftp.sap.com/pub/sapgui/win/640/compilation5/50078731_4.zip
    2. ftp://ftp.sap.com/pub/sapgui/win/640/patches/gui640_26-10001615.exe
    3. ftp://ftp.sap.com/pub/sapgui/win/640/patches/bw350_12-10001615.exe
so, you install SAPGUI, patch SAPGUI, patch BW add-on from SAPGUI.
about your 23/24 patch question, you only need to install the latest, so, that would be patch 24 in your case... but you should install the latest one which in patch 26. use my links!

i have free access from www.ides.consolut.eu

    Hello Ajit,
in general, please try to find an answer to your questions first in the material available online before posting them.
Under "Key Topics", you can find the link to the SAP GUI Family page, which includes download links as well as the platform availability matrix and the manual, which describes the installation options.

    Hello All,
I have a requirement to detect the SAP GUI Logon type (GUI for Windows vs. GUI for Java) during the execution of a program.

  • Unable to Print Purchase order automatically using SAP GUI for JAVA

    Hi SAP gurus,
Some of the PC's in our company use windows and some LINUX. Therefore we use two types of SAP GUI. One for windows and the other one JAVA. PO approval was set to print automatically. In a windows setting, there are no problems with this setup. But in SAP GUI for JAVA, no print outs are produced and no error messages are displayed. I am using SAP GUI for JAVA version 7.10 ver 6. and I use Front end printing for linux access method G.
    please help,
    gungertz

    hi gungertz,
You can use U type access method for printing SAP document using linux desktop.

    Hi Dave,
Please see the support matrix for SAPGui for Java.
    https://websmp201.sap-ag.de/~sapidb/011000358700008661652002E
    ...and the following text:
"There is no 64-bit version of SAP GUI for Java available. SAP GUI for Java can be run on 64-bit hardware provided there is a 32-bit Java runtime environment available for that hardware and operating system. For updates see SAP note 1018530. "
So in short you need to install a 32 bit JRE.
Also, you might like to try the newly released 7.10 version.
    Regards,
    Nelis

  • SAP GUI for Java 7.10 rev 7 - strange behavior using mouse

    Hi,
I use last revision of SAP GUI for Java 7.10 on linux and I've noticied that some mouse actions do not work as expected. I'll use describe an examples:
    (1)
In rev.6 I simly push button on screen and move over text, text is marked and then I can use CTRL-C to copy text to clipboard.
In rev.7 pushing button and move does nothing. I need one initial click more and then it works as expected.
    (2)
Click to icon in an ABAP list sometimes activate another icon from screen (it seems that focus isn't moved from its previous position to new mouse cursor position).
Because rev.7 has been released at the end of 2008, it is possible, that some dotted revision (solving these troubles) has been released, does anybody know solution?
    Thank you for some hints,
      Pavel

    Hello Pavel,
we have not yet been aware of such issues, so a newer dotted version would likely not make a difference.
    (1) The behavior pretty much depends on the specific component you are clicking and selecting its text.
So a specific test case identifying the component is required to investigate the issue.
    (2) Also for this case I ask to provide the exact context, even if it happens there only "sometimes".
Please provide also information requested in [note 326558|https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/326558], parts 2.) and 3.)
If you could provide all this as part of a [support message|http://service.sap.com/message] would be great.
    Best regards
    Rolf-Martin

  • SAP GUI and Java reqs

I am putting together some documentation for the Java requirements for SAP applications on RHEL5 for customers.
Can someone sanity check this for me please?
The SAP GUI requires at least Java 1.5 to run, so a customer should install the Java 1.6.0_16 version from Sun.
1.Download the Sun JRE from http://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp.
    2.Install the Sun JRE.
3.Set the PATH variable so that the Sun JRE is the default version of Java. You can verify this with the java u2013version command.
4.Install PlatinGUILNX_9.JAR from SAP to install the SAP GUI.
The SAP engine on the other hand requires version 1.42 JDK. Moreover, the only JDK supported for 64-bit Linux is the IBM version.
    1. RHEL 5.4 and newer ships with the right IBM JDK so install the IBM JDK. By default, it will install in /opt, so we show the path for the IBM JDK as /opt/IBMJava2‑amd64‑142 in our instructions.
2.SAP NetWeaver 7.0 requires strong encryption. You need to obtain and install the Java Cryptography Extension (JCE) Unlimited Strength Jurisdiction Policy Files for the IBM JDK you are using beforehand starting the installation. Register to download the JCE files at https://www14.software.ibm.com/webapp/iwm/web/preLogin.do?source=jcesdk and download the ZIP file from https://www14.software.ibm.com/webapp/iwm/web/reg/pick.do?source=jcesdk&lang=en_US.
2.The file you download is named unrestricted.zip. Copy the file named unrestricted.zip to /opt/IBMJava2‑amd64‑142/jre/lib/security directory.
Do not unzip the file. Instead, copy the archive.

    Hi,
That's a good documentation, but what do you mean with
4.Install PlatinGUILNX_9.JAR from SAP to install the SAP GUI.
You should post where to download that file, some days ago I downloaded a new version of SAPGui for Java ( 720 ), I don't know what version of SAPGui for Java is PlatinGUILNX_9 or where  can I download that version, I downloaded my SAPGui for Java from:
    ftp://ftp.sap.com/pub/sapgui/java/
You can see different versions and releases... 720.

  • Installation of SAP GUI on MAC OS 10.3.6

    Hi,
I am using an Apple imac machine running on MAC OS 10.3.6. I have installed SAP GUI rev8 in it, but when i tried to connect the SAP Sever it failed. I have a SAP Server running on SUN Solaris Platform. Is there any configurations to be done in the server to accept request from Apple machine. Which version of JRE will GUI rev8 support.
Please let me know how to make connection from GUI to my server.
    Regards,
    Saravanan

    Hi Saravanan,
first there is a update of Java GUI 6.30 rev 10 for MacOS 10.3 (Panther) available or a 6.40 version for MacOS 10.4 (Tiger).
    please refere to thread:
SAP GUI for Java 6.40 rev 4 (no longer) available
    or
SAP GUI for Java 6.40 rev 4 is available at
    ftp://ftp.sap.com/pub/sapgui/java/640r4/ and
    http://service.sap.com/sapgui-java
    second:
You have to do no special configuration to connect from a Mac.
If you connect to the server via a JavaGUI on Linux, etc. just use the same configuration and connection string for Mac OS X.
    FYI:
Your connection string can look something like:
    conn=/H/192.168.1.10/S/3205
where 192.168.1.10 is the server IP adress and 3205 is the portnumber.
For details please refere to the documentation:
    9. Technical Background -> Connection Strings
    and
    6. User Configuration

  • Portal w/SAP GUI; Help -- Application Help causes all windows be destroyed

    Hello All -
I have a user who has portal windows (IE) open in the portal, multiple sessions.  When he has a SAP GUI transaction in the application content area and selects the SAP GUI 'Help' --> 'Application Help' link, all the session windows are closed, and the primary goes to SAP help.
This destroys what the user was working on.
My computer does not do this, even when that user is logged in on my computer.
    Any ideas?

    Hi,
Your requirements are not 100% clear. In  your message you say you are looking for SNC between SAP GUI and SAP ABAP, but the help page you posted a link for is not related to this, but explains how to use SNC for CPIC.
If you are looking to use SNC for authenticating users of SAP GUI to SAP ABAP, then you have a number of options. If your SAP ABAP server is on Windows then SAP have a library which can be obtained for no cost to give you basic SSO using Active Directory authentication (aka Kerberos). If your SAP application server is on Unix or Linux, then you can look on SAP EcoHub for third party SAP certified products which provide this functionality. SAP have also just launched a new product which has some functionality for SAP GUI SSO, but this is not free.
Please let me know if you have any more questions or need clarification.
    Thanks,
    Tim
