Real time business functionality using SAP Xi and hardware included????

Hi All,
I am quite new to sap-xi. i have practised some of the scenarios that can be done with xi.
I was just trying to visualise some of the real time business requirements where SAP XI is used.
For example
Some may have used Sap XI to transform data between file server and SAP system or may a web serve asking for details from sap system to display datas or some times sap xi systems sits betweem an integration server (like biztalk etc) and sap system.
Can anyone of you can give me some of the real time requirements you have dealt with over the years
in terms of business functionality and servers involved in the whole system?

Help on Business Function "Reporting Financials 2" and its impact

Hi All,
I am looking at 'SAP Help' for Reporting Financials 2 (EhP4).

basically I want to use the standard extractor 0FI_AA_20 FI-AA: Transactions and Depreciation . when i try to run the extractor i get an error saying: Business Function "Reporting Financials 2" is not switched on
In order to use the new data sources the pre requisites are:
1. SAP Enhancement Package 4 for SAP ERP 6.0
2. Activated the Reporting Financials 2 business function.
The EnP4 is already implemented what i have do next is to activate the business function.
Can any one help me with more details on what all gets activated with this business function 'Reporting Financials 2' and its impact.

Hi,
in SFW5 you can get an overview over the business functions. There you could activate the appropriate Business Function.
But I would recommend you strongly before to read some information and documentation about business functions and the enhancement package concept.

Using sap script and standard print program RFKORD10 I need to create a customer statement where the main window will be as follows

For each document number selected there will be one to many records in VBRP. For each invoice item in VBRP:
u2022     Select BSTKD from VBKD where
o     VBELN = VBRP-VGBEL and
o     POSNR = VBRP-VGPOS

o     VBELN = VBRP-VGBEL
If there is more than one PO per invoice then list them in the Customer PO field without repeating the other fields.PO shouldnu2019t come more than once per invoice.

The custom form is getting displayed properly. But the requirement is to have it as an editable PDF. So the functional team is working on configuring the settings of PDF forms with customers email address.
But for right now, i customized the standard form F140_ACC_STAT_01 and standard print program RFKORD10_PDF and did the configuration. It is getting displayed (I tested only with the transaction FBL5N - customer open line items..)
Please let me know any further details on this.

Hi Nilson,
The business processes mentioned can be used for any industry. There is not restriction as such.
These business processes are more relevant for those industry.
e.g. Outsourced Manufacturing / WO Collaboration is extensively used by High-Tech companies. Even the recent enhancement requirements have come from High-Tech companies.
Similarly, Kanban / SMI is extensively used by Automotive. But SMI is also popular with High-Tech.
CP industry is biggest consumer of Responsive Replenishment process.

Divide key figures in real time cube by using planning function

Dear all,
I have a real time cube which contains one key figure which is defined by 10 characteristics.
For one country, the users types the values fpr the key figure in a wrong format, so I have to divide those values by 1000.
I have tried to do this with a planning function "Revaluating" and a filter (on this spec. country). I have combined this two element in a planning sequence. When I run this I just get the error message "planning function ended with errors" without any further information.
Is there an other way to devide values within the cube? the BI release is 7.0.
Any help would be great.

What you are doing is absolutely right.. However, I want to ask a few question..
1. Are the characterestic values included in the filter ? ie. If you want to change for Country: UK, is UK present in filter?
2. Are there any other characteristics that you have not included in the function and are getting changed by chance ? Like you might need to include 0fiscyer in To Change if you are assigning 0Fiscper.
3. Write a small FOX function with hardcoded values to check if the system is accepting the values or not..
It should work.. Please write back in case you need more help..

Real time data monitoring using multiple thermocouples via indicators and waveform

I apologize in advanced for this question is probably somewhat simple but I am brand new to labview as well as to the forum and could use some pointers. I have a CompaqDAQ with two 9213 16 channel modules and I am trying to read in 30 thermocouples into a waveform as well as display 30 indicators so I can label each indicator with the corresponding thermocouple for real time monitoring. Each thermocouple corresponds to a specific location and it is critical that the interface have an accurate indication or label for each one. I am wondering if there is an easy way to do this besides splitting the signal and having 30 thermometers on my block diagram? Perhaps an array of some sort? If I use an array to create the 30 thermometers, does the DAQ assistant automatically sort the thermocouples in increasing numerical order. For example, would the first and second indicators on my interface automatically be assigned to the a0 and a1 channels of the first module or would I have to do this manually? Same for the waveform? Thanks a lot!

I see you are using the DAQ Assistant to create your task. Now I understand why you are asking about labeling. That is the NI Salesman's easy start up spiel... But anyway, have you ever created a task in MAX instead of using the DAQ Assistant? The interface is similar, and there may be a step or two more, but your end application will be more efficient and you will have more options with your data and properties. For instance, I tried to update the physical channel names in the DAQ Assistant setup ,which it does let you do, but it doesn't propagate that change forward to the waveform chart legend. Also, I don't know of any property node for that dynamic data type, although I never use it either. I suggest setting up your task and channels in MAX, if you don't mind giving it a go.
I wrote another example since I figured I didn't really lead you to the end with helping you out. It uses a cluster, although a little barbaric. I thought there was a more eloquent way of doing it by changing the labels, but I could not get it working as I anticipated.

It is not fixed to use the respective formulas, as per the requirement we build the respective formulas. At some times if the requirement satisfies the BI Content, then we will use the content formulas

Transporting a business function: lock out users and suspend batch?

Hi gurus,
SAP advises in help.sap.com to lock out all users and suspend batch jobs before activating a business function in development. I did that in development, activated the business function, and saved it to a transport. Does the same recommendation to lock out users and suspend batch jobs hold true in the QA and Production systems when the transport is moved in? ... or is it ok to transport it during a time when there is user and batch activity going on?

You do have to lock out users and suspend batch, even using a transport. There is a pdf called
SAP Enhancement Packages Selecting and Activating Business Functions, In it, it says to lock out users and stop batch activity in all systems,

Real Time Arranger Functions?

Can Logic or Main Stage function as a real time arranger and furnish backing tracks on the fly? Is there a plug-in to do this?
I currently use a Roland RA-800 arranger module to create styles and harmonies based on the notes that I am playing on a simple MIDI keyboard. It does this in real time for live performance. This arranger module is basically the electronic circuits from an arranger keyboard (like a Roland G-70) but does not have an actual keyboard.
I would like to replace the dedicated arranger module with a laptop and software. Any suggestions?

You definitely need to wrap the code running on your FPGA in a While loop so that it continues running. Commonly we set the loop to run indefinitiely (wire a constant to the Loop termination terminal) and then control the operation of the VI within the loop using the front panel controls.
But regarding clusters and Read/Write... from the LabVIEW help...

In our application I will definitely need tyo write to individual elements of a cluster. One basic thing I am doing is controlling a stepper motor driver, giving it pulses, direction, etc. I have been able to make it work using the Call VI and then Bundling by Name whatever cluster I want access to.
To update individual elements of a cluster in your FPGA VI, you need to create individual controls on the front panel of the FPGA VI. Add the updated data to the cluster that you are maintaining within your VI. In the new While loop, create a shift register and use it to store the cluster as a state variable of your VI. Then whenever you need to update nay values in the cluster use the Bundle by Name function as you described.

Business functions in SAP Upgrade

Uncomfortable asking them for their support
we are conducting tests to migration to V5 V6 technique in SAP, but we wanted to make
some validation to determine whether to migrate functional features are enabled only business we want to activate and validate these improvements and new screens and fields, but when doing so, we see that there is some functions were fitted but failed to see nothing else, know whether it is also necessary to activate the desired business function is further supplemented by some configuration?
