Blue Print: Assume the client is already having sound legacy system in place.
Also assume that all the processes in FICO are neatly documented with visios.
Now study those process flows and prepare a list of sub processes.
Now prepare the fits/gaps/ assessment.
If the process fits into SAP it would be a fit. If an enhancement / modification is required, it goes into the red column.
Record all the discussions with the core users against each process and sub process.
Also list down the dependencies for each process / analyse the integration aspects.
Also plan how you would convert the legacy data into SAP.
The whole document should have illustrations / scenarios and ultimately signed off. This at any cost should not be changed unless, there is a total turnaround in the process requirements.
With the finalised blue print, you could start the activities in the implementation.
Now regarding the interview questions:
- Starts with your resume. How you have projected yourself. Have you shown real time experience or faked up projects. In any case, it is very easy to make out whether you have experience in implementation or support environment. You could never fool the interviewer.
Initially the interviewer would try to make an assessment on your genuinity.
- When did the implementation start?
- When did it GOLIVE?
- Were you involved in the end to end implementation or was it a partial role?
-If you are supporting the client, who implemented SAP?
- What tool do you use to track the support activities?
- How many tickets have you handled so far?
- Name some critical issues which you resolved and without which the production or business got affected?
- What is the system landscape ?
-Have you developed any reports / enhancements / technical / functional designs?
- Are you aware of interfaces / ALE / IDOCs ?
- Are you aware of SLAs
- Rate yourself on a rank of 1 to 10 in FI and CO
- How often have you interacted with client during implementation / support?
- What process designs have been prepared by you?
- How do you react when you get a critical issue or cross modular issues?
And so on and on

  • Real time collaboration issue after Kerberos authentication setup

    Hi,
    We are using SPNego (kerberos) authentication for our portal (EP 7.0 SP10). When user clicks on log off link, he comes back to the portal home page again so there is no way for the user to log off from the portal. I don't see this as a problem for the users who are not having access to collaboration. But for the users having access to collaboration, when they login to the portal second time (before expiry of the first login session which they couldn't close as log off is not working), they get warning stating
    "You are logged to the same portal already. Real-time collaboration capabilities will not be available in the current portal session until you terminate the other session and then restart this one by refreshing the browser or logging on again."
    How to resolve this?

    Most people set the logoff link to a URL which contains soem javascript which closes the browser.

  • Real-time reporting issue

    In UCCX7 admin real-time reporting, the status box always shows "not connected" so we're not able to run any real-time reports.
    Why is this status box showing "not connected"? and how do I resolve it to be able to run real-time reports?

    No it's certainly possible.  I would try that first, see if it's working at all.
    Sometimes, running this page from an end user PC, can fail if your JRE is not the right version.  One way to find out if that is the case:  uninstall your java, reboot, then launch the RTR page and it will automatically isntall the correct version for you.
    Try these, and report back.

  • Java.vm.version property -- Time critical issue!

    Yesterday I upgraded my Java runtime environment in response to a popup that automatically appeared. Today my code doesn't run because the system property java.vm.version is screwed up.
    My program checks to see that the user's version of Java is at least at version 5. To do this, I call System.getProperty("java.vm.version") and examine the third character. Normally the value of the property is something like "1.6.0_03-b05", which indicates the JRE is at version 6. Today, the value returned is "10.0-b19", which is meaningless to me, and causes my program to exit.
    Looking at all the system properties, here are some relevant ones:
    java.vm.version=10.0-b19
    java.runtime.version=1.6.0_05-b13
    java.specification.version=1.6
    java.vm.specification.version=1.0
    java.version=1.6.0_05Is there a bug somewhere that is causing java.vm.version to return a weird value?
    Am I simply querying the wrong property? Would it be more appropriate to query one of the other properties?
    I've got about 50 users to support. If (or rather when) any of them upgrade their JRE, their copies will simply crash. I need to be proactive and address this problem before it gets critical. And if there's a bug in the release, I'm probably not the only program developer who will be caught by it.

  • PXIe 8133 Real Time Configuration Issue with MAX

    I seem to be running to a weird problem in configuring a PXIe 8133 into an RT system. After I change it in bios to boot safe mode, MAX detects the system no problem through remote connection. When I try to change its IP (while the PXIe8133 is in Safe Mode), it does not allow me to do so. Specifically, the text on top of Network Settings Tab mentions that it cannot apply the settings. I also have tried reformating the RT, and uploading software. The format performs OK, but still the same problem with IP and communication. The software upload results in communication timeout.
    I am not running any firewalls, etc. The link is direct cable between the host and the target (PXIe8133). I am running LV2010 RT on the host.
    If I am missing a simple step in getting through this obstacle, please let me know. Any suggestions are apreciated. Thanks in advance.

    Hello,
    Just wondering are you using DHCP or static IP addressing? If you are using static IP, ensure you have all the fields on the 'Network Settings Tab' populated including the Gateway and DNS server. Both fields can be populated with the address 0.0.0.0. Hope this helps.

  • CCX - Real Time Reporting Issue/Question

    If no agents are ready in a call queue is there a way to track any attempted incoming calls in CCX reporting?
    The company I work for has all calls routed to a third party answering service after normal business hours. In addition, if a call sits in a queue for over 1.5 minutes it is also forwarded to a third party answering service to act as tier one support.
    Any direction is appreciated.

    No it's certainly possible.  I would try that first, see if it's working at all.

    I will list out few of critical issues in
    Implementation :
    1 . Ensure 100% mapping of business process for all modules with SAP(avoid customization in support phase)
    2.  Unit & Integeration testing should be through with all validations
    3.  Master datas(Vendor,Customer) care must be taken will uploading datas thru LSMW,
    If there are common vendors for all plants,Create a vendor for a plant extend it to other plants
    4. Check tax procedures are customized according to requirements.
    5. Complete all print document customizations before go live
    6. Complete end user training(2 or more cycles) should be top priority before go live(This will avoid
    cancellation/reversal of documents after post go live)
    7. Ready with standard MIS reports & customized reports for business decision making
    8. Excise opening balance updation in tables for RG1 register in tables(Note 951955) on go live
    9. Check all tables datas are updating correctly
    10. Declare go live to SAP Support
    11. Check All user authorization should be correct according to their roles.
    12. Centeralize all master datas creation(avoid duplication)
    13. Create transaction variants to avoid entires in unnecessary fields & make certain fields mandatory.
    14. Ensure document numbering is completed for all documents
    15. Validate accounting entries are hit properly according to requirement in quality client with FI CTM(Core team member).
    After Go live :
    1. Missing authorization for users will play key part here,For ex : PGI while doing delivery,Excise capture & post in MIGO/J1IEX.
    2. Do internal audit every month,identify transactions if there will possibility for misuse or wrong entries,requires validation,identify users weak in certain areas.
    3. Identify there is enhancements to be done in transaction process(By step-2)
    4. Prepare a list of month & year end activities to be performed for all modules give to users
    5. Prepare  a list of frequently used transaction codes module wise give it to users
    6. If there is subcontracting,ensure challan creation,GR,reconcillation should be done regulary(monthly)
    7. Train the users,take reports in respective modules.
    8. Additonal customization might be done in print documents.
    9. Instruct users/CTM's to adapt SAP Standard practise
    10. Update excise tax rates after every indian budget

    Usually this error I anticipated were either related to printer message not configured properly, or accounting document not updating correctly. Check either or and see where the problem is. Check this blog I wrote on this error: I came across one problem at one of my projects which I would like to share for everyone's experience. The problem was when client was doing MIGO and when he was saving the document, it was making the MM document, but when you hit back button or go for display it came up with this error 'UPDATE WAS TERMINATED'. This problem came up in both MIGO and SD billing document posting. Now I had to jott down what the problem really was, so I started closing up on problem, by creating many PO's and doing MIGO'S against them with different document types, all went great and those documents got posted, but when I used the same GL'S as client was using as he was charging it to cost center and the GL'S used there were consumption GL'S,those GL'S were causing the problem. How I found out that GL was causing problem, as I used another GL which was not for consumption and the document got posted. Now as the problem got cornered, now we had to figure out how to solve it. Here at client we have two plants, one for Pakistan and one for Philippines, so I checked the same scenario on Pakistan and the document got posted with consumption GL as well. So now its more clear that problem is with client Philippines posting. So I sat down with (ABAP) consultant to check out the problem. He went through his checking and pointed out that one document No. 40000400 was not getting updated. Now the question came what document this number is assigned to. Suddenly it clicked my mind to check the client Pk document which was posted with same Gl, so when we displayed that document we came to know that this number range was getting assigned to CONTROLLING DOCUMENT. So we went back in customizing, and found out that CONTROLLING DOCUMENT current number was stuck on 40000100, whereas the last number recorded in table was 40000400, so we updated the current number there and thats the end PROBLEM SOLVED. This controlling document Number was causing this problem on both MIGO and SD billing document. Another solution which came to our mind was to clear the Buffer, so that the number ranges of the clients gets updated and we notified our basis person as well but in mean time we solved the issue

    I want to do real time playback of a FCP project from my MacBook Pro, and it appears my new Matrox MX02 Mini box will allow an HDMI output of my 720p60 project from the MacBook Pro. Pretty cool. What are your best suggestions for encoding a reliable playback product? Compress to an MPG2 program stream? Make an HD Quicktime? Or....? Bye bye 480 DVD's!

    David, if I could ask your setup for a QT playback out of the DVI port on the MacBook Pro:
    1) You take the DVI output into a DVI monitor, or do you use a DVI-to-HDMI cable?
    2) Audio is from the quarter-inch jack on the MacBook Pro?
    3) Can you achieve good 720p?

  • Starting a Physical Standby DB which is configured with real-time apply

    I wanted to get clarification on the correct procedure for starting and stopping a physical standby database. The Dataguard documentation states the following:
    1. Start and mount the database:
    SQL> STARTUP MOUNT;
    2. Start log apply services:
    To start Redo Apply, issue the following statement:
    SQL> ALTER DATABASE RECOVER MANAGED STANDBY DATABASE
    2> DISCONNECT FROM SESSION;
    To start real-time apply, issue the following statement:
    SQL> ALTER DATABASE RECOVER MANAGED STANDBY DATABASE
    2> USING CURRENT LOGFILE;
    My configuration is using real-time apply based on the information provided by the RECOVERY_MODE column of the V$ARCHIVED_DEST_STATUS view. Should I execute both ALTER statements or just the second one. If only the second one, how will the database re-synchronize, especially after a long down time. Also, must I do anything on the primary database prior to starting up the physical standby?
    I'm using Oracle 10g SP1 on a linux server.

    No. But you can recover until the last arch file generated on the primary, then you cancel the recovery and then use query#2 to start applying real-time. Refer to Note:343424.1 on Metalink.

    Duration of the project depends upon teh project size.
    if it is a small indian company (500 crores) it should take between 5-7 months
    team required: each consultant for each module depending on scope(Apprx:-2 abaper, 1 MM,1 SD, 1 FI, 1 CO and 1 for PP)
    Support Project:
    Duaration of support project will be 1,2, 5 years depending upon the agreement betwween company and client.
