Really need help here!-Why won't all selected Photos sync to my iPod Touch?

This is really a concern to me: I can only get about 9 months of my iPhotos to sync onto my iPod Touch - but with OS 2.x I could get all the photos-- used essentially all my free space.
I just upgraded my first generation iPod Touch (Dec 2007) to 3.1.2 - OK WiFi and apps updates working fine- but as to syncing photos: I have 15,688 photos & videos from my cameras in my iPhoto library.
I don't expect to have all the photos synced, but when I check last 12 months, only about 9 months is synced - 5899 photos and there is 4.9 gb of free space on my iPod Touch. With OS 2.x I could get more photos and it would go down to just a few mb of free space if I wished.
What is going on here? Why so much free space and yet no more photos syncing? I tried to click ALL EVENTS and that simply erased all my 5899 photos and there were NO PHOTOS. So now I went back and requested last 12 months of events (about 138 separate events from end 2008 until present) - and again, exactly 5899 photos yet still some 33% of my iPod capacity is UNused?
This is really a concern to me-- if a corrupted photo or event, then why did it work just last week when I was in iPod Touch OS 2.x?
Thanks for any suggestions here. I'm trying manual syncs and other stuff - so far no luck.

First a really big THANKS - I was not aware that this iPod Photo cache folder existed and it had grow to over 15 gb in size! (Now it is 3.85 gb in size).
BUT BUT-- problem not solved... Although I trashed that file and then re-synced my iPod Touch, it is still only going back to July 2009 with the events - not 12 months as I request; and none of the events that I checked prior to the previous 12 months are not on my iPod Touch, first generation running system 3.1.3 (7E18). I STILL HAVE 3.0 gb of available space on my iPod. Again, I never had this problem when 2.x was the OS for my iPod Touch.
The number of events seems to be exactly 51 - is that perhaps a limit? I don't think it would be but when I look inside the iPod Photo cache folder, there are 51 folders (plus 2 other items) and the folders are numbered from F00 to F50.
I would like to get to the bottom of this - not sure if I should start a new post or ??? Thanks again and any ideas or tests to run really appreciated!

Why won't my album artwork sync to my iPod Touch but it shows up on iTunes?

Ok I had this problem, and for me at least what happened was that not all the album artwork was attached to all songs on the album.  So if you right click one of the albums you are having an issue with, the click artwork tab, and go through each song on the album, if it is missing from any of them it will not sync properly to any device.  Find the songs that have the artwork, and then right click to copy it, then go to songs without it, and right click in the blank box and paste it in there.  Then once finished with any issues you are having sync iPod, this should fix the problem.  It worked for me, and it was unbelievably frustrating to know I have the artwork, but it wasn't showing up anywhere on the iPod.  Hopefully this fixes the issue for you, like it did for me!

  • Why won't all the photos from iPhoto sync onto my iPhone 5?

I am trying to put all the photos from iPhoto on my Mac onto my iPhone 5. Through iTunes, I select sync photos with iPhoto, then sync all photos, albums, events and faces. There are 285 photos in my iPhoto library and I would like to sync them all, but after the sync when I look at the photos on my phone, only 187 synced. What am I doing wrong?

I find the easiest way to transfer photos from iphoto or your computer in general onto your iPhone is to select the ones you want and click share then either iMessage or email them to yourself, its much faster and I don't know about you but i find iTunes to be a real pain when you sync photos because it always messes up your albums on your phone!

  • Why won't some track information sync to my iPod?

Recently, my mom upgraded from her extremely old Sansa e250 to a 32GB iPod Touch. I'm helping her migrate her music over to her iPod. I copied her old Sansa's music onto my computer, which are all mp3 and mp4 files. I put these files into iTunes (on her laptop), and synced them over to her iPod. I then realized some files did not have album artwork, an album in the track info, and some other incorrect or missing details. So, I went into each track, corrected as necessary. Then, I ran a Get Album Artwork for all tracks, which it found for most of them. I went online to find the album artwork iTunes didn't have (some of the mp3s were ripped from old CD's, like George Clinton's Computer Games) and pasted it into track info. After the entire collection was ready to go, I synced again. I opened the Music app on the iPod, and I noticed that while the Apple artwork synced over, some track info that I edited, and the artwork I pasted in, did not. The music still plays fine, but it's kind of annoying when there's something missing or you see that music note. For example, one track was Supertramp's "Babaji". I entered in the album Crime of the Century for it. iTunes found the artwork for it, synced it over, but the album name did not. Any advice?

  • Need help setting up Network on iMac so I can WiFi my iPod Touch

Have 1st Gen iPod touch with Stanza app (book reader). Need to set up WiFi Network connection on my iMac (Leopard 10.5.5) so I can connect to internet with iPod touch and download books into Stanza. Need detailed info on how to do this, please. I've tried using the setup assistant in Network, but nothing I enter works. I use BellSouth DSL internet service, so don't have to log in each time I turn on DSL. It appears it's a DHCP configuration. Can anyone help me with this, please. Thanks very much.

Thanks for your reply, Julian. Actually, I'd had my iMac set up properly since last Sept., but my brother has now moved in with me and he also has a new iMac and a new iPod touch and I was trying to remember how to set up the network on his Mac so he could use his Mac with his iPod touch to do his downloads using the network connection from his own computer. I do not have a router. We share our BellSouth DSL modem by simply moving it from one Mac to the other when we want to get on the internet. Both Macs have built in Airport, which is what I know I'd been using - I say BEEN using, because today I really screwed up my Mac when I was trying to remember how to set up the network and now I can no longer use my iPod touch-to-iMac WiFi function either.
When I first set up my network, I got help from someone in a forum and thought I'd printed and kept the very simply instructions he gave me, but I can't find them. I seem to remember him telling me I'd have to get my Mac's IP address, which I have, but when I go thru the network setup assistant it doesn't ask me to enter it anywhere. Also, the setup assistant tells me that I can't connect automatically to the internet, which is not true. I don't have to log in when I plug in my modem - I'm automatically connected.
I'm familiar with internet sharing, cause that's what I've been using when I downloaded apps updates, etc. But now, I can't even get Airport to turn on. The more I try, the more confused and frustrated I get. I'm usually pretty good with this kind of thing, but I'm completely baffled now.
I do want, and think this is what I was doing before I screwed things up today, to share my Mac's wired internet connection to the iPod touch wirelessly, as you said, and which is what I'd been doing. Can you help me? It was so easy the last time I did this, but I just can't get it done now!
Did I screw things up because I already had one network set up on my Mac and was trying to set up another one on my Mac (just to test it out before I tried to do it on my brother's Mac)? HELP!
    Thanks for your help.

  • Why won't some songs play on 1st generation iPod Touch after paying to update to software version 3.1.3 (7E18)?

This weekend I purchased the software update for the 1st generation touch from iTunes to update it to version 3.1.3.  Prior to the update, the iPod was still 100% working.  The only reason I paid for the upgrade was so I could get the App Store.  Since upgrading, approximately 50% of my songs won't play.  When the problem occurs, the album art will show up on the screen, but after a few seconds of silence, the "play" button pops up indicating that the song paused or stopped.  If I push play again, it looks like it will play for a second or two, but then it does the same thing.  Then if I skip to the next song, and its a song the iPod likes, I can hit play and that song will play without a problem.  All the songs on my iPod have been downloaded from iTunes or ripped from CD's I purchased, so it's not like I have a bunch of shady, corrupt music files.  I'm just frustrated because Apple wants to charge me for support since this is an older product.  However, the product was working fine until the other day when I PAID for their software update.  If anyone went through a similar issue and has info it would be much appreciated.

    Try the standard fixes:
    - Reset. Nothing is lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Restore from backup
    - Restore to factory defaults/new iPod.

  • Why won't Calendar and Contacts sync with my iPod

Every time I try, my menu says no contacts available in this computer---despite having an address book full of them. Also my calender (iCal) no longer syncs with my iPod. Running 10.7.5 in my laptop and the latest (2.0.1) software in my 120 g

My apologies for the previous incorrect solutions! What I have finally done to alter the Contacts group in the iPod (in my case an iPod Nano 4th Generation) with iTunes 11.x is the following:
I connected the iPod as per usual and iTunes opens and the iPod shows up on the desktop. I then click on the iPod icon to open its folder which shows that there is a Contacts folder. Opening this I saw a Contacts file called 'iSync.vcf' which I moved to the Trash.
I then went to Contacts (the actual app) and exported those vcards I wanted to be on my iPod. Since I didn’t need every card on my nano I did each card individually; if you want all the cards then just select all the cards you want to export (or make a new special group for the iPod) or command-A a group and then export these vcards, either directly to the iPod Contacts folder, or to a folder on the desktop from which you can later move the vcards into the iPod folder (in case you want to add or subtract cards). note: if you have exported a group of cards from Contacts you cant remove cards from it later)!
To add vcards to the iPod from then on, just drag a new card, or an updated vcard, into the iPod Contacts folder - conversely to remove a contact, drag the card out of the folder.
Hopefully this solves the problem. I’ve checked it out several times today with my iPod and it seems to work well.

  • REALLY Need Help Here...

I think I'm going to lose my mind. I'm new to Logic 7, and I can't seem to consisently create new tracks without something bizzarre happening.
I went to the Environment to create a new stereo Aux for routing some tracks to. I said "Create New Audio Object." I tried to make out from the pop up list of AUXes used which was new and available, and chose it. In order to make it show up in the Arrange Window, and I suppose therefore the MIXER window, I Command clicked it. Now it REPLACES whatever track in the ARRANGE window was highlighted. And you can't seem deselect all tracks so nothing is highlighted in the arrange. So this new Audio Object, upon trying to get it to show up, REPLACES tracks. So my audio acoustic guitar track is now the new AUX. Oops. REVERT TO SAVED.
Help. This track creation thing is just nutty. Even the manual says to use CREATE NEW TRACK, and doesn't tell you that in the ARRANGE WINDOW this results in a COPY OF THE ABOVE TRACK. Geez. Insane.
So how do create an AUX in the Environment, make it show up in the mixer and or arrange, and NOT have it replace an existing track in the arrange?
    Thanks so much
    Tom

    Thanks Donald.
Boy, you know, the most dependable way I have found to do it so it always works is...
What you say. I have 48 audio tracks in my autoload environment. I just go to arrange (when I need audio tracks, not instrument tracks) and add a bunch of tracks. Then I do your trick....I drag the audio tracks from the environment over the arrange window and everything is happy.
This solved a nightmare I had tonight. I was importing audio, and therefore need audio tracks. I decided to start SLOWLY, and created ONE audio track in the arrange window. I assigned to TRACK 1. Then dragged a file from the audio window into the arrange and placed it. I then named it immediately (Create Track Name). I kept doing that for about 28 tracks. When I was done, it was a mess. Things that I had named BASS were playing floor toms, etc. I would rename the floor tom track to Floor Tom, then look up, and the actual bass track changed its name to Floor Tom as well. Oh geez. I just deleted everything, and dragged the audio tracks from the Environment as I said, and finally got what I needed.
Some of this is me, I know, but there are honestly some serious bugs in this program. I had two guitar tracks playing just fine, and after switching windowsets around all of a sudden they were gone. I mean, NOT PLAYING. I went to the Environment to find them. Still Gone. Like they VANISHED from the program. I finally just reimported their audio.
It's like wrestling with a big polar bear, this Logic;)
Thanks for all your help. Let's hope Apple....king of the easy interface, gets this program in shape in the next century....;)

  • Really need help! Imac won't boot up.

Seems to have happened shortly after I updated iTunes, but when I try to boot up, it just hangs at the apple logo with the spinning gear icon. Sometimes it shuts down after about 5 minutes, sometimes it just hangs there forever. I've tried booting off the DVD and running Disk Utility. The only option given is to verify disk, and when I run it, it fails with "error: filesystem verify or repair failed". It also doesn't give me an option to run archive and install ... only erase. I tried that and halfway through the dvd authentication process, it says it cannot read the DVD (I know it's good).
Also tried to boot in safe mode. Just stays at the apple logo. Can't eject the DVD, either.
I'm basically dead in the water. Could really use some advise.
    Thanks

Ok, for whatever reason, I was able to boot up with the DVD and Disk Utility sees the Macintosh HD volume now. But when I try to run the install, I get "Mac OS X cannot be upgraded to v 10.5 on your computer. Mac OS X v10.4 or later could not be found on your computer" I'm on 10.5.6. Any ideas where to go from here?
Before you reinstall, run the DU from the DVD and see if you can repair the HD. The menu is at the top left after the language screen.
If your disk is an up-to-date disk, or whatever it was called, it may require reinstalling Tiger first.

I have had the same problem with mine. Just been through the online helpdesk and found this article. Basically you need to ensure the file extension (eg .jpg) appears after the file name in orer for the pictures to sync with your apple device. Hope this helps
iTunes: Synced photos without extensions do not appear on iPhone, iPad, iPod, or Apple TV

Did you get an answer? I have a TV show, and about ten episodes. 8 of them sync just fine, the last TWO will NOT sync not matter what I try. It is all one show. I even tried making a playlist of the two episodes, and the playlist won't sync either

  • Why won't all my photos download from Icloud?, why won't all my photos download from Icloud?

Restoring my IPhone 5 and every time it stops 1/4 way through while trying to bring my photos and videos back from Icloud.  Do I need to go back to the Genius Bar?

Many users have lost photos while preforming a restore from backup or upgrading the iOS.   Recall, only photos in the camera roll are backed up to iCloud.  There is a way to turn backups for camera roll on/off, perhaps these users had camera roll turned off.
    See:
Settings>icloud>Storage & Backups>Manage Storage,  tap the device's name and on the next screen, be sure Camera Roll is turned on.
    IMPORTANT...
Photos should be regularly synced to a computer (like you store photos from a digital camera) using either USB via iTunes (on a mac use iPhoto or Aperture to move them to an album) or using photo stream - and then moved into permanent albums for storage.  If using Photo stream, but sure to move the received photos to a permanent album.  If you have been doing that, then you can sync those photos back to your device.
If you haven't been saving photos except relying on iCloud to store them in a backup, then that is risky, as many users have discovered.  I'm afraid I have no advice in this case - there is no "cure".
