Recent events don't update on my iDevices

I don't want to use PhotoStream. But before PhotoStream was available, I did have my most recent iPhoto events synchronize to my iPhone and iPad via iTunes. These don't update though anymore. My iPhone is tiny (which is why I don't use PhotoStream) - but I still set up each device to the most recent Events. But the events I find are old.
What should I look at to see why this doesn't update?

I finally took my computer to the genius bar. Turning off iPhoto syncing on my iPad and turning it on again fixed it both for my iPad and iPhone.

IPhoto events don't update

I want to have the events from my last 3 months iPhoto to automatically update on my phone and pad. They don't.
After a lot of experimenting, I got them updated by opening iPhoto and then hitting Sync in iTunes with the Photos tab open. Is that the normal way to do this? Every time I add photos to iTunes, I need to expliciitly sync?

I went to my Apple Store and they were really disappointed... they suggested to report this to Apple.

New mail events don't update iCal

When I receive via mac mail an iCal event update, to schedule a new or change an existing event, clicking the event opens iCal but the event is not shown or changes are not applied.
This started with the MobileMe changes in Snow Leopard and I was hoping Lion would solve it, but the behaviour is the same.
I have deleted and recreated my MobileMe calendar or create a calendar synced with Google without result.

Heres's something for you to think about.
I added the same mail box with all of the same details as an IMAP account. The mail.ap allowed me to add the account but just named it "xxxxxx 2".
All of the new email that was missing showed up in the IMAP account.
It has worked on 4 machines so far (only another 16 to do). 3 were POP and they worked fine with the abovestated method.
The other 1 was already IMAP and all I did was press the plus to add another account and all of the mail appeared in the IMAP account as though the threat was enough.
Give it a try - it might work for you too.

Iphone mail hyperlink created events don't update to outlook calendar

I created an event using a hyperlink in mail on my iphone. The event never sync'd to my ipad or outlook (active sync and exchange). After a support call to apple(with no results) and spending some time and about $175.00 with an outside IT person, we found the problem. When we deleted the location information, the event would immediately show up in outlook and any other mobile devices syncing to that calendar. I am speculating that there are some characters that either the iphone or exchange does not like in this locaion field. The iphone picked up all of the location characters automatically through the hyperlink in mail. I just started using this hyperlink feature and really like how quickly i can create an event......so much for that unless i delete or clean up the location field.

there are many posts on this subject.. I myself had the problem and fixed it with a manual and not elegant process... but it works.
Exchange-Outlook have many documented issues with recurring appointments and users with more than one device: either a desktop + laptop or a laptop+smartphone, or laptop+iPhone, etc. The issue gets bigger if there are delegates with access to same account.
Outlook 2007 had many issues to sync with devices (whether or not iPhone was not the issue). they reportedly fixed those issues with Outlook 2007 SP1 released few months ago. After installing that SP1 I had no more problems... until recurring appointments created again that malfunction you describe
AFAIK the best workaround is to manually delete the corrupted recurring appointments. recurring appointments get corrupted very frequently. You can change the view on outlook calendar and show only corrupted appointments or recurring appointments and fix the issues. Not elegant but works.

oh boy ! I'd ask you if you knew what kind of files they were or where they came from, but I don't think you could help me a bunch. Try going to the Utilities folder and running Disk Utilities. If you want to empty the Trash and it won't empty, go to the finder and choose "secure Empty trash". Worse case scenario-you may have to reinstall Snow Leopard, but I don't know what else to suggest. If you have a DVD of Snow Leopard, boot up from that, and reinstall the OS. This will not touch the stuff you have on your Hard Drive, then you can update from 10.6 to 10.6.8, otherwise Onyx? Maybe those files are part of the OS which needs them to keep running. if you hold down the Shift key on reboot, you can reboot in Safe mode and maybe you can take the files out of the trash that way

The only thing I can think of is if you got a replacement D610 as rumored here:

In that case, you would need the new version of Camera RAW or DNG converter as per Camera Raw plug-in | Supported cameras .
The other thing to check is if the files open in the Nikon native ViewNX software. If they don't it's time to call the service center.

it sounds like your work changed something on their network. Try asking your IT people if they recently blocked any ports related to remote management or changed their firewall settings to block incoming connections.

All day events don't show on wiki calender

for some reason any all day events i put in ical doesn't update on the wiki, its fine for any other events that aren't all day, has anybody found a solution for this? Also is it possible to colour code events?

Even stranger, I have this problem with one calendar and MobileMe (and thus my other Macs.)
Only one calendar, and multi-day events don't show up. Uncheck 'all-day' and they appear. Re-check 'all-day' and they turn into multi-day events on me.com

When I use find file http://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/30073/find-file (which does tend to find files that "Finder" can't), it's not coming up with any other itunes library files that have been modified in the past week, which I know it would have been - unfortunately, I don't have a very recent backup of the hard drive. It would be a few months old so it wouldn't have the complete library on it....any ideas? I'm wondering if restarting the computer might help but have been afraid to do so in case it would make it harder to recover anything...I was looking at this thread https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4211589?start=0&tstart=0 in the hopes that it might have a helpful suggestion but it's definitely a different scenario.

Recently Played Artists not updating!

Alright, so there is already a thread about this, but Spotify hasn't addressed it yet, so I figure I'd start a second one. It's been about 3-4 weeks since my "Recently Played Artists" or my friends "Recently Played Artists" have updated. This is very frustating to me and others I've heard from. I'd like to see my own because there are days where I'll go through 2-3 artists' entire collection of work, then the next day do some other artists, but sometimes I like to look back and see what I had listened to (which would be in Recently Played Artists) without having to add a bunch of songs to my or a playlist. Not that that matters - for the last several weeks whenever I've followed a new playlist, it won't show up on my account page. Luckily it still shows up in the left hand bar, but I use my phone a lot and it's not as easy as it is on the computer. I also like to see what my friends are/have been listening to as well, but since I haven't seen a change in any of theirs for 3-4 weeks, unless I'm on and looking at what they are currently playing, I don't know. This brings up another issue I've been having where sometimes it will say the last person listening to music was, say, 4 hours ago... but if I close Spotify and restart it (which takes 10 seconds), then 4 people are listening to music live and I'll see in my feed that others had been listening in the time between 4 hours. My computer is always connected to wifi, and I had never had this problem before. The amalgamation of these little (but irritating) problems has really defeated the feeling of connectedness I've had since getting Spotify several months ago. Additionally, seeing what you and your friends' Recently Played/Top Played artists is what, to me, makes Spotify more enjoyable than just listening to music in my iTunes library. Hey Rustie! So yesterday morning I sent them a breakdown of things I found/noticed. I was on a Free test account and noticed some problems with specific ads that would just completely pause the music once they were done. But I was mainly trying out the Recently Played Artists obviously, and keeping an eye on the activity feed too since I was having trouble with that. Everytime there is an an-app update, say someone adds a song to a playlist you follow, the activity feed stops refreshing until you close and restart the app. I noticed this on my account and didn't know what was causing it, but on the test account is where I pinned down in-app updates as being the source of the issue. For Recently Played Artists - no luck. I played Of Monsters and Men for two days straight (let it play while I slept too) so that there would be no question it would make it to the Recently Played. The list didn't update in the 3 days I had the account however. When I sent them the email yesterday, I was sort of disappointed. I told them exactly who I had listened to and what I had noticed with the app, and up until this email they'd been very eager to hear from me, but when I told them nothing had happened I just got a generic email about how cases like mine are being collected and that Spotify is looking at it... Well I know they're looking at it as I've been emailing them about it for the last week haha, I guess I shouldn't be expecting a full report on what they've found or what they're doing about it other than "looking" but I would've like to know if it's a bug or a programming error or something rather than just being told again that the issue is being addressed. I'm not mad at that though, I understand technical difficulties can be tough, and there are a lot of people complaining so I'm sure they really ARE working on it, but what annoyed me is that this is clearly a problem, and so they put out an update that changes the shade of green for the app icon...? Maybe I'm seeing things but it looks like the update changed the color of my mobile app icon, which is completely pointless to me and any amount of time that went towards changing the color very slightly should've have gone towards dealing with actual issues in my opinion. But I may just being seeing things. Anyway, they certainly are trying to figure this issue out so that's good to hear.

Followup to the recent event dispatching change. As it turns out we do require capture phase listeners on both FlexEvent.MOVE and FlexEvent.RESIZE. Will make the change to always dispatch these event types but if it proves too much of a performance loss (as measured by our performance suite), we will find a way to work around the need for capturing. Currently UIComponent listens for MOVE,RESIZE that it may update the focus rectangle. DataGrid listens for RESIZE globally to dismiss any active item renderers.

"20 most recent events" does not transfer the 20 most recent events

I've always used "sync 20 most recent events" for uploading photos to my iPhone.
Recently I've noticed that the 20 events on my iPhone are not the 20 most recent events. Instead, there are 20 events with certain events missing.
If I look at my events in iPhoto going back in time and compare them with the events on my iPhone, the 6 most recent events are missing completely, then there is an event, then there are missing 2 events, etc.
I upgraded from iPhoto '08 to '09 about 3 weeks ago, but I don't see any link with the missing events. I.e. certain events from before the upgrade are missing and certain from after the upgrade.
I couldn't find this problem already reported in this forum.
What I tried so far, every time without success:
- in iTunes I selected to NOT sync photos to my iPhone and to remove all existing photos from my iPhone, and after syncing all photos were STILL on my iPhone
- I deleted the "iPod Photo Cache" folder and when syncing again the exact same events were transferred to my iPhone
Any ideas of how I could fix this and get the 20 most recents events to my iPhone?

Smart Albums don't update dynamically. I have to open each Smart Album individually for it to update.

Be sure to send a bug report to Apple via http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphoto.html. I've experienced the same problem. The albums have updated sometimes when I go to another album or event and then back to it but not consistently.
