The sleepimage file still reappears even if never slept. Delete it (hibernate off, etc) - within minutes its back.

NF980-G65 Must press reset button to get post boot problem.
I've seen other posts here & on New Egg where I ordered the MSI 980-G65 Mobo, about when booting for the first time you may find you need to press the reset button to post boot. It seems this is not an isolated problem.
I read the mobo book while building & read the first thing to do is get into the Bios & load optimized defaults on page En-32. I did that & I always have to press the reset button to post boot every time I start up for the first time. Any self restarts after that are ok. I installed Gskill Ripjaw series DDR3 1600Mhz ram & set the voltage for 1.5v. It booted with ram default @ 1333Mhz. I set the NB freq to 1:4 to set it to 16oo Mhz, I thought it was cuz you have to OC the settings to get the ram to run @ 1600Mhz. I still had to press reset to get it to post. I know that making any changes other then keeping default settings may cause these problems. I also read here someone else stated to clear the CMOS, move the ram around & it worked for him. I didn't do that. I decided to load the failsafe defaults, save it, & restart. It booted ok at cold boot. So, back into the Bios I reset all my settings all over again, saved it, rebooted ok from cold start.
One thing to know, The setting for ganged ram @ 128bit is duel channel mode. The unganged setting puts you in single channel mode @ 64bit. Useing 2 sticks, 2X2GB in Dimms 1&2 as per the mobo book duel channel mode arrangement. CPUZ will verify that your in duel channel mode.

I have just bought an NF980-G65 mob., with an AMD Phenom II X4 955 (Deneb 4c)
3.2 GHz, DDR3-1333, 2 MB L2, 6 MB. I also bought the G-skill 1600 ram, I was a bit put of when it came as it was for an Intel pro, as stated previous.
I have it set up with two Nvidia 7800gt G.cards.
I installed a new hard drive W.Dig. 650gb black. when I tried loading win7 64 i kept getting a blue screen with various faults on it.
It would work as far as the grey line "loading windows" and even the logo but would then crash.
The amazing thing is that i put my old hardrive back in and it booted up as 32bit win7 and loaded the drivers.
this seemed to work until i tried to install a game and it crashed again all i saw was a quick message about "memory"
needles to say i have returned the g-skill ram as that was the only thing not in the mob recommended ram.
I am with any ram now and I'm having difficulty finding somewhere that has a stock of recommended ram i.e.
Patriot PGS34G1600LLKA, GeIL GV34GB1600C8DC, or lots of very expensive Kingston. £100 is about my limit.
Any way that said, as you are running G-Skill ram do you think i had another problem?
the one i bought was GSKill 4GB DDR3 Dual Channel Memory Kit (2x2GB) PC3-12800 1600MHz (7-8-7-24)

To expand on the problem, I've tried importing a different catalog and I get the same problem so I think the issue is in the application. Also I've tried using different mice and get the same result. Do you think I need to uninstall LR and reinstall it?
First, try rebooting your computer.
Second, exit Lightroom and delete the LR preferences: Preference and other file locations in Lightroom 5. On Mac, reboot after deleting. Sprinkling that magic fairy dust often fixes weirdness in the LR user interface. -

Hi.
I have my new mac mini with Maverick that does not go to deep sleep even if i press power button or menu Apple-Sleep mode. He goes only to something like stand-by (power lid is on; after i turn off and then turn on the power he does not wake up just starting). I tried "sudo pmset -a hibernatemode X", tried mode 0,1,3, and even 25. nothing helps. he goes to deep sleep (when all data on HDD) only first time after i change hibernatemode couple times and force it to sleep. Today i even tried to force it to sleep (menu Apple-Sleep mode) and NOT turn off the power for whole night, in the morning he is in this "stand-by" mode anyway.
Could anyone help me please? i need it sleep but don't want to keep my power on for whole night.The warranty entitles you to complimentary phone support for the first 90 days of ownership.

Try this - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)

I have just been having problems with my Canon MP250 printer and decided to uninstall and re-install the printer and everytime I try to re-install the printer trough preferences and all I keep getting was a message saying "preparing to queue"...... I then decided to try and reload the Canon printer drivers and for some silly reason I deleted the existing Canon printer drive. Now I cannot load them from the CD provided with the printer or from downloads through the Apple store. If anyone out there could help me I would be greatly appreciated......

Anyone else haveing a problem with appointments not syncing, duplicate appointments when syncing with Outlook? Noticed the problem a couple of days ago.
Also, noticed that my primary SMTP disappeared, and I had to re-establish to send e-mail.
Apple tech support was worthless on both issues.Hi I am also in the UK, but not with Tiscali and am having the exact same problems. I can also send with wifi, but not 3G. I have tried amending all sorts of settings, including those above and amending the smtp server to the settings for my provider, but all to no avail.
It is thoroughly frustrating, as I cannot send emails unless I have wifi access.
Any further suggestions would be very welcome. -
I am having same problem with apple tv need 4.4 version and can not find solution this a brand new product out of box yesterday why would it not already have updated version. I am getting frustrated that I can not get this mirroring icon to work. I have tried all suggestions in this thread and nothing works. I also hooked up to laptop through iTunes with micro USB nothing!!!

Graphics problems with my second monitor...
Ever since I updated to Lion, I get some display problems with my second monitor (a Samsung LED XL2370).
Single windows appear darker and with bad graphics, especially when dragging from the normal monitor to the external one or openign them..
And after 'waking' my MacBook from sleep today, the background image of the normal display was missing. It was just a grey screen, but perfectly functional. And nothing changed when I checked the display settings and tried changing the background.
Any ideas??

I am using an early 2008 MacBook Pro and am having issues with it deleting text on its own (in word, emails, etc.). As I am typing it all of a sudden starts deleting and I can't stop it. This happened once before and it was due to a buldging battery pressing on the track pad. I checked the battery and it appears to be fine. What can I do?

This procedure is a test, not a solution. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
Step 1
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is localized to your user account.
Enable guest logins* and log in as Guest. For instructions, launch the System Preferences application, select Help from the menu bar, and enter “Set up guest users” (without the quotes) in the search box. Don't use the Safari-only “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac.”
While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your personal files or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin.
Test while logged in as Guest. Same problem?
After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it.
*Note: If you’ve activated “Find My Mac” or FileVault, then you can’t enable the Guest account. The “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac” is not the same. Create a new account in which to test, and delete it, including its home folder, after testing.
Step 2
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode* and log in to the account with the problem. The instructions provided by Apple are as follows:
Shut down your computer, wait 30 seconds, and then hold down the shift key while pressing the power button.
When you see the gray Apple logo, release the shift key.
If you are prompted to log in, type your password, and then hold down the shift key again as you click Log in.
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including wireless networking on certain Macs. The next normal boot may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
*Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t boot in safe mode.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of steps 1 and 2.
