Recommended version of BO 4.1

Hi,
we are using BO4.0 SP7and we are going to upgrade to 4.1 but we don't know which version should we choose.
I read somewhere that SAP recommend some version and SP. Has anybody heard about it?
Or which version do you recommed?
We are going to use 4.1 SP3
Regards

Update version from - to
BIP 4.0 SP7 p2 - BIP 4.1 SP4 p3
DS 4.1 SP2 - BODS 4.2 SP3
IS 4.2 SP3 (new installation)
Issues I got related to BI:
1) IE9 Freezes when trying to schedule reports to destination from BI launchpad, from CMC it works fine.
SAP Support Comment:
According to my investigation, the issue was already identified as a bug of our product and escalated to the development team for investigation. Actually, the fix for this issue already ready but we need to wait the Patch4 of 4.1 SP04 released which is target to relase on 31st Oct 2014, however, the schedule might be change without further notification. So far as we identified, the issue will only happen to IE9, as we tested, the same workflow is work for Chrome.
Work around I took: This happened only to BI launchpad, NOT for CMC, there are only few schedulers that use BI launchpad to schedule reports, they were happy to use Google Chrome instead of IE. So I setup single sign on for Chrome. According to support guy, it didn't happened to all customers just for few.. (I haven't tried the above mentioned patch yet)
Chrome sso kb - 1887193
Firefox sso kb - 1767654
2) APS was split before update, After update, when refresh webi reports got error csEX (WIS 00000)
DSL Bridge aps was missing connectivity parameters, so I added those missing parameters by looking at other related aps
Related kb : 1644361
Issues I got related to BODS:
DS vs BIP/ IPS compatability matrix: 1740516
1) This applies only if you been using DB2 as repository
Installation Guide p24: ds_42_install_win_en.pdf
Ensure that the software has a temporary table space with a page size of 32K
So far we have default page size as 4k, we need to create new database for DS repos and make it default 32k and migrate them manually using .atl files.
Other than these I didn't get any issues, hope this helps !!

    Hi,
You need to choose the appropriate image based on your hardware configuration. I recommend you use the hardware/software compatibility matrix.
Access the software advisor link below and select hardware/software option. Enter the modules that you are using in your switch and it would show you the minimum version you need and the recommended version code.

    Thanks in advance

What versions of Oracle database can I use with OWB 10gR2 Beta 3?
    - Oracle Database 10gR2
    - Oracle Database 10gR1 with 10.1.0.4 patchset applied.
    - Oracle9i Database (9.2). Note that some OWB features are only supported on Oracle Database 10g, as detailed in the Release Notes. Oracle Database 10gR1 is strongly recommended for OWB Paris Beta.

  • WLC recommended version for 802.11n

    Hello,
I have to set up a wireless network using 802.11n. I was wondering if the 4.2 version is the best one? Is there any document that tells wich version to use depending on the the configuration we need to set up, for example?
    jr94

    Hello,
Thanks for your replies. I know that I will only be able to manage 1252 with that version, and it is the model of my AP, so it is ok. But I was wondering if I should better use 4.2 or another train of releases. As 802.11n has been released on 9/11, I do not know if 4.2 is the best one.

  • Recommend Versions of XI

I have a SRM,BI and ECC system on WAS 700
Can u suggest what XI version should i go for and y?
XI 7.0 or XI 3.0 will do?
can anyone give me a comparison of the two
    Rgds
    Aditya

    Hi,
    Go for PI 7.0.
    1. All new features for XI 7.0 are almost same as for XI 3.0 at least till SPS 19.
    Some differences are as follows:
    •     Adapter Enhancements like JMS, JDBC, Oracle-JDBC and CIDX Enhancements
    •     New Conversion Agent,
    •     Receiver Determination Enhancements
    •     Multi mapping
    •     User defined enhancements
    •     Unbounded Processes (Integration Processes).
    2. One more difference is the ABAP stack (which is 7.0 and not 6.40) but from the developer point of view there is nothing new.
    3.     PI 7.0 = XI 7.0 i.e. PI 7.0 can also be called as XI 7.0
    4.     For each SP in XI3.0 there is a corresponding SP being released for PI (XI 7.0). A comparison of the service packs in 2004 and 2004s:
    In 2004           - In 2004s
    SP12 & lower = SP04
    SP13 + 14       = SP05
    SP15               = SP06
    SP16               = SP07
    SP17               = SP08
    SP18               = SP09
    No Major difference as such...
    Diff between XI and PI
XI 3.0 vs. PI (XI 7.0)

  • Recommended JVM Version for ZfS 6.5 SP1 on NetWare 6 SP5 w/NCS

Quick question - what is the recommended version of the NetWare JVM to use
    with ZfS 6.5 SP1? I'm running NW6SP5, ZfS65 with SP1 applied, and Tomcat
3.3. Right now I'm using JVM 1.4.2_6 and just wanted to verify there are no
known issues with JVM 1.4.2_6 playing well with ZfS 6.5 SP1. Running on on
a 2 node cluster.I plan to add ZfD 6.5 SP1 to the cluster soon - primarily
for HA inventory services. Thanks in advance for any input.

    Ron,
Thanks for the general advice. That's what I thought, but sometimes we
all need a sanity check. Especially when you see java thread death
messages when the distributor starts up :-) Not due to the JVM.

  • Recommended Oracle version for SAP 4.7 and for BW 3.5

    Hi,
where I can find the SAP's recommended version of Oracle for SAP ERP 4.7 and BW 3.5?
    Thanks
    Message was edited by:
            giovanni maria maccioni

    Hi,
    Recommended would be 10.2.0.2
Oracle has ended the customer care support for 9.2 in July 2007:
Note 925871 - Discontinuation of 'Customer Care Support' for Oracle 9.2
At the same time, SAP customers have a "free" year of  Extended Support for Version 9.2.
9.2.0.8 is the latest patch set provided for 9.2. (see note 1021844)
I think that, if you are planning to perform a new installation, it would be better to do it in 10.2

  • How do I choose and then install the correct version of Adobe Flash Player for my machine?

First thing - My computer -   PROCESSOR: Intel Celeron 450 @2.2 Ghz,  MEMORY: 4GB,  OS:  Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 64 bit,  BROWSER:  IE 9.0.8112.16421
Everything was hunky-dory until the auto-installer updated my version to the Flash Player 11.2 version and that's when it all went downhill.  As soon as it installed that version, none of the TV networks, news networks or Hulu recognized that I had Adobe Flash Player.  In addition, I could no longer create a blank new tab in IE or use the tools button (the little gear symbol) in the upper right hand of an IE window.  Because of the IE problems, I figured it was a problem with IE and went about searching for a solution in that arena.  I finally found something at Microsoft that helped me determine if it was an IE problem and went through the various steps.  The final step required booting into safemode and trying to replicate the problem.  IE worked fine in safemode so, Microsoft determined the problem had to be with outside influences.
After several frustrating attempts with other fixes including virus scanning and firewall settings, the problem persisted.  I then un-installed Flash Player per Adobe's instruction and re-installed the recommended 'latest' version.  The problem remained.  So, when all else had failed I did a full system restore to a point over a month ago, which is prior to the occurence of the problem, while at the same time noting which drivers and programs would be affected.  I already had a sneaking suspicion that it was Flash Player because I read the full system requirements for the recommended version that the auto installer was trying to install (see below).  I then began updating everything one at a time to see if any of the windows/software/driver updates had any affect on IE.  None did until I got to the Adobe Flash Player and updated it.
Now, what I think the problem is:  The auto installer ONLY looks at Operating System and Browser to determine which version of Adobe Flash Player is correct.  In this regard, my machine should use the latest 11.2 version.  HOWEVER, if you look at the full system requirements for the 11.2 versions, you will note that it requires a...... 2.33 Ghz processor!  In this regard, 11.2 is NOT the correct version for my machine as it only has a 2.2 Ghz processor.  And I think therein lies the problem.
So.  I freely admit that I am not a computer expert and am, in fact, so far removed from ever even contemplating wearing such a title that I'm sure all who read this are sitting in your offices having a good laugh at my expense.  As such, I welcome anyone and everyone to tell me what I've done wrong and how I should go about fixing it.  If my deductions are correct, then could someone please tell me how to choose the correct version for my machine and then tell me how to actually install it on my machine.
I know that this is a long post and I thank you all for your patience and any help you choose to offer me.

    Mr. Willener,
    Thank you for your reply.
I did un-install and then re-install per the Adobe recommendations which are what you listed in your reply.  The problem remained until I did a MS Windows restore to a restore point a month or so ago.  The IE problems vanished.  However, now I'm using an outdated and unsupported version that is lower than most of the web pages require for their sites, at least the ones I want to view (they all say I need to upgrade my Flash Player which, when I did, put me in this fix).
    As to:
    Pat Willener wrote:
    Usuallyexasperated wrote:
it requires a...... 2.33 Ghz processor!
You can safely ignore that requirement; it is simply not true.
Why would Adobe post a system requirement of 2.33 Ghz for 11.2 if it simply were not true?

  • Advice on upgrading ASA 5510 from version 8.4(4)1

    Hello all,
Due to an issue we need to upgrade our ASA. Cisco Support team recommended upgrading to version 8.4.7, but, as we'll upgrade, we'd like to upgrade to version 9.
We still use Cisco VPN Client for Remote Access VPNs so I'd like your advice on which version to install on ASA.
Would you recommend version 9.0.3? 9.1.X?
    Thanks in advance,
    Igor

We have a pretty huge ASA and ASASM complex, and we are just about finished upgrading from an assortment of 8.4.x, 8.5.x, and 8.6.x installs to 9.1.3 on everything. There is one gotcha on some systems in that there is a file system change or some sort of bug that is fixed in 8.4.5 I think. So you _may_ have to first upgrade to a newer version (8.4.7 would work) before going to 9.1.3.
Our Cisco team has recommended going to version 9.x, and this is supported by recent tickets I've had on our stuff still running on 8.x, as the TAC engineer often says we need to upgrade to version 9.
Four our setup, we had some fatal bugs in 8.4.6 and 8.4.7 that kept us running 8.4.5 for a very long time on some equipment.
Anyway, I would recommend going to 9.1.3, which is one removed from the recently recleased 9.1.4. Our AnyConnect VPN complex has been on 9.1.3 for a few months now with no issues. Be sure to read the release notes thoroughly as 9.x changes some command contexts, new features, etc.

  • Which version to use: 8.1.7.3 or 8.1.6.2 ??

What is the recommended version for production level databases 8.1.6.2 or 8.1.7.3 ??
We have a enterprise DB systems running on Solaris 7 and Solaris 8 (SPARC) with lots of JDBC interfaces.
    Any pointers ??

the most current release for either 8.1.6 or 8.1.7 is recommended to maximixe bug fixes so you don't "rediscover" them.
First, install the base version (8.1.6.0 or 8.1.7.0)and immediately go to the metalink web site to download the rdbms patchset to get the rdbms as current as possible.
the metalink web site is :
Also 8.1.7 has more features and bug fixes than any 8.1.6 version.
some of the new java related 8.1.7 features include :
    1) an apache jserv front end with the oracle jsp engine in it. it supports servlets 2.0 and jsp 1.1 code.
    2) an oracle servlet engine inside the jvm which supports servlets 2.2 and jsp 1.1
    3) the ejb 1.1 spec requiring entity beans be supported while rdbms 816 supports ejb 1.0 spec which only required session beans to be supported.
    4) also i recall seeing that the terminal version 8.1.7 will be supported for a much longer time period than an intermediate version like 8.1.6 - so you might delay another rdbms migration by using 8.1.7 now.
while downloading the patchset for your rdbms, you might want to check the metalink "product lifecycle" section for when 8.1.6 goes out of support for your o/s platform.
I believe that rdbms patchset 8.1.7.1 is starting to become available and that rdbms patchset 8.1.6.2 or maybe 8.1.6.3 may be available. (i work mainly with 8.1.7 so i'm not sure about 8.1.6.x)
However, the current patchset version definitely depends on your o/s platform and can be accessed at the metalink web site referred to above.
    i hope this helps ...

  • I need version 3. 6.18 back as version 4 is not compatible with the electronic filing system of the U. S. Bankrutpcy Court.

I'm copying the message I received from the U. S. Bankruptcy Court:
ECF users are advised NOT TO UPGRADE to version 4.x or 5.x of the Firefox browser.
The Firefox browser versions 4.x and 5.x are not fully compatible with the court's ECF system. Several issues involving electronic filing have been reported. Furthermore, the "View Labels" button from the Creditor Mailing Matrix is not functional when using the upgrade. The recommended version of Firefox for use with ECF is 3.6.18, and the recommended version of Internet Explorer is either 7.x or 8.x.
If you have any questions, please contact the ECF Help Desk at 503-326-1510, 541-431-4005 or 866-777-0442.
I need to get version 3.6.18 back.

To downgrade to Firefox 3.6 first uninstall Firefox 4, but do not select the option to "Remove my Firefox personal data". If you select that option it will delete your bookmarks, passwords and other user data.
You can then install the latest version of Firefox 3.6 available from http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html - it will automatically use your current bookmarks, passwords etc.
To avoid possible problems with downgrading, I recommend going to your profile folder and deleting the following files if they exist - extensions.cache, extensions.rdf, extensions.ini, extensions.sqlite and localstore.rdf. Deleting these files will force Firefox to rebuild the list of installed extensions, checking their compatibility, and reset toolbar customizations.
For details of how to find your profile folder see https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Profiles
3.6.17 is the latest release version, 3.6.18 is due out on June 21st.

    Hi
There is still an issue for me. When i check to see if add-ons are up to date it identifies "Java(TM) Platform SE 7 U9" as out-of-date and gives me an orange "Update" action. When i hit this it takes me to the Java website giving me "Recommended Version 7 Update 9". This is the one i've already got so i cannot get rid of the orange Update action buttons.
Furthermore, if i try the link earlier in this thread to test to see which version of Java i should be using it says "Congratulations! You have the recommended Java installed (Version 7 Update 9)" so i'm not sure what this talk of version 7.10 is about?
