Recording audio from Flash video

I'm not sure if this is in the correct section, but . . .
I would like to know how to record only the audio from Flash video. Specifically, there's a website my daughter loves which has Flash movies showing little animations with children's songs. I'd like to be able to get just the audio from those songs onto my MacBook so we don't have to go online to listen to them every time.
Thanks.

  • Recording Audio from DVD Video

    Hi,
    I have a music concert video on DVD. I would like to record a song off the video so that I can learn to play the guitar part. Is there any software out there that will separate the audio from the video, or in other words, capture the audio and maybe convert it to mp3 format so that I can play it in iTunes without playing the video?
    Sincerely,
    Jim

    Audio Hijack will let you capture audio from any running Mac Os X application.

  • QuickTime: Screen Recording with audio from Flash video?

    I saw a short flash video on a website that I wanted to save. SO I tried using the new QuickTime's Screen Recording feature, but no matter what options I use (Line input or Internal microphone), I get no audio.
    Is this because Flash won't allow it, or am I doing something wrong?

    just figured this out myself today. you're on right track.
    open system pref and go to SOUND - got to OUTPUT tab and choose soundflower (2ch) as your OUTPUT
    open safari and open a new window - drag SWF file into that. it should play in the browser window. hit pause on the video.
    open quicktime. go to NEW SCREEN RECORDING, and use the arrow to the right to open options. Choose sound INPUT as soundflower (2ch). do not raise the volume in the record window - keep it at lowest possible else you'll get an echo.
    you are ready to roll.
    so the browser will be outputting sound to soundflower, whilst the quicktime screenrecord gets input from soundflower. works like a charm. sounds great.
    good luck.

  • Recording audio from firewire video source

    What does it take for Soundbooth (or more specifically OS X) to recognize firewire video as an audio source?
    I have a video conversion box that accepts analog video/audio input and connects via firewire to my MacBookPro. I can use that to capture video with Premiere or OnLocation, and extract the audio from that, but in the event I'm just converting an audio source, I'd like to use the same box to capture audio directly to Soundbooth. But 'Audio MIDI Setup' shows only built-in input and a USB audio source.
    Otherwise I either have to use built-in audio input (normally not available because I have external speakers plugged in), or get a USB or firewire audio interface. I'll probably do that eventually but was hoping for a software solution of some sort.

    You should look into WireTap Studio from Ambrosia software. It will record ANYTHING at all that goes through your sound card, regardless of the original source. I know, "If I paid for SoundBooth, why should I go buy another piece of software?"
    I've used Wiretap since 2002 when it was still a freebie. It's gotten a lot better in eight years, and when you see everything you can do with it (like recoding streaming audio from the web, or podcasts, getting soundbytes from DVDs, or recording from your TV or even live with a mic) you'll agree that it's another $69, but $69 well spent.
    I used Wiretap to convert more than 1400 cassettes into mp3. I've also pulled songs from movies that are unavailable anywhere. I've recorded live TV audio. You have a multitude of format and quality choices for recording and saving.

  • Recording Audio from Video Tape

    Hi! I want to record audio from a video tape and put the audio into my imovie. I have done this funtion before, but I can't seem to remember how! I am able to play the movie (the video tape) in a VCR which then goes through my "bridge" (DV Converter) and into the computer. When I open imovie and import the video and audio into a "clip", I can't seem to play the clip and record the "audio" in the audio section. Again, I have done this before, I just don't remember how. Can anyone help??

    Hi Kim - welcome to the forum!
    You would simply extract the audio from the clip - select it, then go Advanced>Extract Audio (Command J). This will place the audio in the top audio track. Then you can delete the clip, and move the extracted audio to wherever you want it.
    Does that help?

  • Audio from Flash CS3 Video overlapping

    audio from Flash CS3 Video overlapping
    help stopping the FLVPlayback instance (which has an instance
    name of theVideo) when another button is clicked!
    How do I stop flv playback when user clicks a navigation
    button ...
    Excuse me in advance for asking about a topic that may be
    very popular!
    I'm using the attached code to go from the main stage to one
    subset of .swf files (loaded movies) and I apparently have no
    problems with overlapping. Hell, the files even seem to unload
    themselves correctly. Then, when I go to my second subset of .swf
    files (with the exact same AS3 structure), which has a Flash Video
    file (made by the FLV Playback component), I get into an
    overlapping problem associated with the audio.
    How can I stop, cancel, or unload the audio when the file is
    clicked away from (the user selects another button on the main
    stage)?
    Code attached. Please let me know if anything else is needed.
    Yours Sincerely,
    Jntspecialty

    I have tried to clean up code and do this right.
    I need help referencing (storing the value in the variable
    "stopsoundoverlapReq") the "flvplayback instance AFTER theVideo is
    instantiated (ie, the frame that contains theVideo has rendered)"
    correctly.
    Also, now I need help with the name of my nav bar button's
    method followed by parentheses, which should include the
    appropriate method parameter.
    On my main timeline, I tried to clean up the code and use:
    var stopsoundoverlapReq:FLVPlayback =
    stop("videopage.swf/MovieClip(ldr.content).theVideo");
    Then for my nav bar button on this same timeline use:
    any_btn.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, stopsoundoverlap);
    function stopsoundoverlap(event:MouseEvent):void
    stopsoundoverlap.stop(stopsoundoverlapReq);
    The 3 errors I get now are :
    1046: Type was not found or was not a compile-time constant:
    FLVPlayback. var stopsoundoverlapReq:FLVPlayback =
    stop("videopage.swf/MovieClip(ldr.content).theVideo");
    1061: Call to a possibly undefined method stop through a
    reference with static type Function.
    stopsoundoverlap.stop(stopsoundoverlapReq);

    var stopsoundoverlapReq:FLVPlayback =
    stop("videopage.swf/MovieClip(ldr.content).theVideo");

  • Anyone know if there is an adapter to record audio from an outside source in real time to an iphone 4s or 5s video?

    Anyone know if there is an adapter to record audio from an outside source in real time to an iphone 4s or 5s video?

    Hi @imobl,
    You sound like an Apple support guy who hasn't been able to answer my questions.
    To respond to some of the points you made,
    - I did not ignore Ocean20's suggestion. If you has read my post, you would have known that I took my phone to the apple service centre where they tried this restore on THEIR machines. I am assuming that Apple guys know how not to block iTunes. So I actually do not understand your point about me trying the hosts file changes on my machine. Do you not believe that apple tested this issue with the correct settings?
    - you also give a flawed logic of why the issue is a hardware issue. You mentioned that If I thought that the issue was with the software, i should try a restore and getting it to work. The problem is that my error (23), and many others comes up when the restore fails. And you would be astonished to know that not all errors are hardware errors. Sometimes even software errors prevent restores. Funnily enough Apple itself mention that 'in rare cases, error 23 could be hardware related'.
    - all Apple has done so far is replicate the issue. I don not know how anyone can conclude that the issue is a hardware issue.
    And by the way, I am not certain that this is a software bug. Again if you read my Posts, you will notice I only want a confirmation,/proof that the issue is hardware related as they mention..
    Please refrain do. Responding if there is nothing to add.

  • Can you record the audio from a Video embedded in a pdf?

    I can't seem to find anything on this, so I will ask. A client sent us a company produced interactive pdf and wants us to use the audio from a video clip that is in the pdf. We asked for the audio clip but they don't know who to get it from and just keep saying it is in the pdf. While others try to explain that a pdf and an mp3 are not the same thing. I get to look into a fall back position of trying to extract the audio (or video). There is no copyright issue here. Client peon just can't/won't get the proper file.
    Maybe some one can help or point me to info that says it is not possible.
    Thanks.

    WireTap Studio did the trick. I downloaded a free Trial version and bob's yer uncle.
    Thanks Michael

  • Recording audio from device on server

    I have some really nice audio recording gear hooked up to my computer, and I got a neat idea. I want to turn my PC into a web server and serve a flash application from it that allows a user to record audio from MY hardware (basically record the output of a mic hooked up to the "server") and then download the resulting audio file to his or her computer. Is this possible to do using a single flash application? I'm sure I could send commands to a C application on the "server" that would do the recording, but I'm wondering if there is a more simple solution. Also, monitoring the audio while it is being recorded would be nice.
    Thanks

    The issue I see with iTalk and similar iPod apps is that the iPod has no line-level input, so you'd have to use one of the earbud/microphone combinations or an external microphone like this one which will be limited as to quality. There are some other options here. But if you want pro quality, and particularly want to tap straight off of a mixing console, a device like the Alesis is going to be necessary, though there may be something less expensive that I can't find.
    If a microphone works for you, then iTalk might be fine. There's a freeware version of iTalk, iTalk Lite, you can try, to see if it will do the job. It doesn't have the advanced playback controls and has a limit of 2MB per recording, but it should allow you to test it out. Voxie is another possibility.
    Regards.

  • Audio from inserted video keeps playing on next slide

    Hello,
    I'm experimenting with Adobe Presenter 6. I have inserted a
    video clip into a slide. There is a stop action on frame1 with a
    button that advances to frame2. The video has audio, which
    unfortunately keeps playing if I advance to the next slide. If I go
    once slide further ahead, the audio from the video stops. Has
    anyone else encountered this problem? It's driving me crazy!
    Thanks!

    Hi Doc!
    I actually ran into the same situation...not with a video
    clip, but with a basic flash animation that had audio in it. I'm
    not suggesting that the following will definitely work for you, but
    it might be worth taking a look at:
    Any audio that's set to "Event" while editing in Flash will
    continue to "stream" , even while navigating between slides. In
    most cases that I've seen (from my experience), audio will stop if
    the offending slide is placed immediately before a question slide.
    I realize that might not be practical in every case, so....
    1. Make sure that audio sync settings in flash are set to
    "Stream". What this does is effectively kill off any audio once you
    navigate away from the slide that has the embedded flash on it.
    2. you can always add a stopAllSounds(); method in flash, but
    that's not highly recommended
    UNLESS your content slide (with the offending flash object )
    comes immediately before, or within a range of question slides.
    Again, this too might not be entirely practical based on what
    you're trying to do.
    I realize that might not help, but as I said, it might be
    worth taking a look at how you're incorporating your video.

  • Where did the "record audio from speakerphone" option go in Connect 8??

    When I went to start a recording today in Connect 8, I noticed that the "record audio  from speakerphone" option is missing on the pop-up where you enter your  recording name and description.  Where did this option go?  This is how  we record all of our meetings where we do not have integrated audio  (usually due to using an operator assisted line.)  I did double-check my flash settings and made sure the meeting had access to the microphone.

    Connect 8 records all audio from the Phone if that was used, or VOIP or via Universal Voice. It picks up all audio in the meeting.
    If you have associated a universal voice audio profile with the meeting, choose Audio > Join Audio Conference.
    Choose Meeting > Record Meeting.
    In the Record Meeting dialog box, enter a name and summary for the meeting recording.
    A recording icon (red circle) appears in the menu bar to indicate that the meeting is being recorded.

  • Recording audio in Flash

    Hi - I know you can ercord audio using flash media server but
    is there any other way just using flash alone where you wouldn't
    need to require a user to download any other plugins in order to
    record audio from a microphone. i'm working on a site that let's
    people submit songs but want them to be able to record directly on
    the site itself in a one-click way. any ideas of how this can be
    done?

    You need server side functionality to do this.

    The first thing I would suggest is to run through the guide by Daniel_Potyrala on the link below to completely uninstall and then reinstall the Flash Player Plug-in.
