Recording audio or music from inside a mac

If i play a song or audio in my macbook, is there any apllication that can record that same audio im playing on my mac and save it into a new archive?
Thanks a lot!

Not sure what you mean. If you're talking about playing a cd, then import it in itunes. You can choose the format (mp3, aac, aiff, etc) in preferences/advanced under the import tab.
If you're talking about actually making music, then Garage Band is the program you have to look at.
cheers

Soundflower is a freeware way of patching audio from running app's into another app to record it - several free/shareware recording app's available if you haven't already got one, google 'freeware os x recording'.

Wiretap Pro or AudioHijack for more elegant but very reasonably priced solutions.

I'm sure there are others if you google around, but the above two app's demonstrate what you're looking for.

  • How do I sync music from iphone to mac?

About a year after the rest of the world, iTunes sent to my iPhone the U2 album that everyone else was force-fed and some other music too from a German radio station. I never asked for any of this, but actually quite like it, so I wanted to transfer the music to my Mac. A simple sync by plugging iPhone 6 into Mac did nothing. So I restarted the iPhone, also nothing. I highlighted the songs in iTunes on the iPhone and clicked "Add To", but apart from taking an age, that didn't work either. Anyone have any bright ideas? I looked around in the forum, but found nothing helpful. The handbook or instruction manual was no help either. All I want to do is get the stuff that iTunes forced on to my iPhone to my Mac. Sounds simple, but apparently it isn't. Grateful for helpful responses.

Go to iTunes website and purchase latest iTunes this is very necessary it is the only way you can sync your files to your laptop because iPods/iPhones don't work the same way as normal mp3 players that come out as removable disk in the computer.
AnywY get iTunes the pages one because you constantly update your iPhones iOS so yea get otunes and stick the cable that connects from tour iPhone to your Mac book the. Open iTunes then your iPod will come up as an iPod or iPhone.

  • Migration iTunes Music from Windows to Mac

Hello, I currently have a PC on Windows Xp, I usually use iTunes for Windows to manage and buy my music for my iPod and iPhone.
I would like to buy a Mac mini to replace my Windows XP computer.
I currently stored my music managed by iTunes for Windows on a Buffalo Raid NAS and that work very well.
    My questions are :
I would like to know if I will able to use my music from the Mac Mini ?
Is there any migration process to be able to use my personal music and my music bought on iTunes store on the Mac Mini ?
I will lose all my personnal data on my iPhone, if I connect my iPhone to iTunes for Mac on the Mac Mini,
Is there any migration process to be able to use my Apps bought on iTunes store on the Mac Mini with iPhone ?
On my Windows Xp computer, we have 2 windows user accounts (one for me and one for my wife to be able to our own contacts each other on our iPhones), so we have one iTunes library for each account and we are using the same iTunes Store Account for the 2 iTunes Library, will we be able to do the same on Mac Mini and iTunes for Mac ?
    Thanks for your help.

No, but encourage it.  Hold down the option/alt key while starting iTunes and guide it to the library.itl file in the iTunes folder.

  • How to move music from pc to mac book pro

I just bought a macbook pro for school. I have a large number of music files on my pc. I copied all the file to my mac book and then fired up itunes and scanned for media. It seems that itunes is making a second copy and putting them somewhere and my hard drive runs out of space. I guess I don't know how to work the macbook yet. Can someone giveme advise to get my macbook itunes to just recognize themusic files and import them to itunes?

There is a iTunes Library in your Music folder and yes iTunes is organizing them utilizing copies of your originals.
Since things are messed up and your just starting out, you can go ahead and click and drag the iTunes Library to the Trash can and from the Finder menu > Empty Trash.
Now place your PC music files on a external drive where there is enough room, (perhaps a copy is already there?)
Delete the copy of files from the PC drive if they are on your Mac's drive, this way you have enough room.
Your basically starting over again with one copy of the files on the external drive.
Now restart iTunes and it will create another iTunes Library blank as before, now head to the iTunes menu or import the music from the external drive.
Now it will copy them and organize them into folders according to artist/album get artwork, etc., with tags etc. provided your logged into iTunes and online into the iTunes Library.
Remmember with Mac's, just like Windows, you need ot unmount the drive first before physically disconnecting, with OS X you simply drag the external drive icon to the Trash can, which turns into a Eject button.
Or you can select the drive and press the eject key, or the eject arrow in the Finder window on the left side.

  • How to transfer music from PC to Mac?

I'm trying to transfer music from my PC to my MacBook Pro before college. I have a wireless network set up that I could use to copy my music, but that has just been copying files. I also want to transfer my playlists, though, so that I don't have to make them all over again. I read on the Apple web site that you can use your iPod as a hard disk to do this, but I'm not sure if this will work between PC and Mac because it is formatted for my PC. If this is possible, could someone tell me how to go about it? Or suggest another way to get my playlists onto my Mac?

    See: http://lifehacker.com/242468/geek-to-live--how-to-move-an-itunes-library-from-a- pc-to-mac-and-back
    or: http://www.myfirstmac.com/index.php/mac/articles/how-do-i-move-my-itunes-library -from-pc-to-mac-and-keep-my-settings-intact
If you already have your music over and just want to get the normal (non-smart) playlists over, you can also go to PC and export the playlist to a file ("File" > "Library" > "Export Playlist...") and then import that into iTunes on the Mac.
