Records Management add and read note

Hello
We are in the process of imigrating our paperarchiv from Excel-Sheets to records management. For the data-imigration of the paperrecords I found a bapi. So far so good. I also have to add a note to the paperdocument. For this I have found nothing. I tryed it with bapi's for documents with negative results. How can I create a note and add this note to the paperdocument?
Any suggestions or code?

I assume you are using the records and not cases. The easiest way is to create an own service provider like SRM_SP_NOTE. the problem with this is, that it has no API as far as I know. The other possibilty is to use cases instead of records. There you can create notes with the case API.

Thanks for the suggestion. When i tried to implement the same with an OUTER JOIN to capture the records that satisfied and not satisfied the join condition, the SQL statement is not getting created properly and as given below
"from DEPT [empty] EMP where (1=1) And (DEPT.DEPTNO=EMP.DEPT(+))"
THere is no ',' operator between the two tables in the FROM Clause. When it is corrected in the ODI operator, the task is executed successfully.
Can you please suggest the way forward to avoid this error?

Trouble with loading videos - Manually manage music and videos not supported now with iOS5 and a 1st gen iPad?

Since updating my iPad 1st gen to iOS5.0.1 videos don't get loaded properly into the Videos app.
On the Summary page in iTunes of my docked iPad, I have always checked the box for "Manually manage music and videos".
I have my reasons for doing it this way, but that's for another thread perhaps.
The problem is that when I load a video to my iPad this way - by simply just dragging it from the desktop and onto the iPad, under Devices in iTunes - it copies/updates, and shows up on the iPad like it always has before iOS5. But now, with iOS5, when I undock, it can't be found anywhere within the Videos app on the iPad. The only way I can find it is to do a Search, which seems to find it, but when I click it, a different video plays - the first video in the Movies list in the Video app. Dock the iPad again, yes the video is there, according to iTunes, but no way to play it once iPad is undocked.
My suspicion is that with iOS5 you are no longer able to use the "Manually manage music and videos (Mmm&v)" that you will be forced to run everything through iTunes - and probably iCloud. I've unchecked the Mmm&v box, and get prompted with "Are you sure? - All existing content on the iPad will be replaced with content from your iTunes library". READ - "Rebuild your entire video and music collection, and this time run it all through iTunes. Welcome to iOS5. Have a nice day or two wasting your time rebuilding your entire video and music collection. Don't fight it. Use iTunes for everything! Until we finally make iTunes a decent piece of digital media management software, then you'll have to do it all again."
Okay, rant over - Anyone out there with running iOS5 on a 1st gen iPad with the Mmm&v option checked and able to load a video manually (not through iTunes)? Any other thoughts?

Yea, i managed to fix my issue in a wild fashion way But I DONT suggest it to anyone.
I like to hear why it happened after upgrading iTunes and if there is any peaceful solution.
Bythe way, here is how i fixed it :
1-i checked "manually manage music and videos" checkbox and clicked on "Sync" button
2-It showed a threating message that it will erase my music and videos ,......
3-I clicked on OK button and let iTunes do any thing she said , but the second it started to delete my treasures from my iphone, i disconnected my phone by pulling USB cable.
Now i have my musics and videos untouched and got that Option enabled again and i can manage my Music/Videos and Books manually.

Imported sealed Management Pack and its not showing up in Data Warehouse Job MPSyncJob

When i try to Import a sealed Management Pack (with defined new Dimensions for Data Warehouse) it works fine, and it shows up under Management Packs under the Administration Pane. But its not showing up in the Data Warehouse Job "MPSyncJob".
No errors in the Eventlog on the DW Management Server and cant see any errors in failed Data Warehouse Jobs either.
I imported the MP three Days ago and still nothing.
Now what?

I have a smaller SCSM Lab that i can import this MP in and the classes are created in the DW. Now is the question why its not working in my PreProd env and why i dont get any errors in the Event Log? Anyone that can Point me in the right direction for

Firefox keeps freezing up and reading "not responding" in the top bar I uninstalled Firefox and reinstalled it but it won;t work I have Firefox 6 I guess and Windows 7 and Office HELP !!!!!!!!!! IT IS DRIVING ME CRAZY

For the past few weeks I guess every 5 MINUTES ! Firefox freezes and the top bar reads NOT RESPONDING it stays that way for abit and is frustrating ! My Kapersky says no threats or virus I am fine, I deleted files and photos and music it made no difference. I uninstalled Firefox and reinstalled Firefox 6 and still it does it....and did it again as I write this.............

MDM Maps in Import Manager crashes and does not open

I am having problems with some of my maps in the Import Manager. While working in the Import Manager the maps are fine and I am able to import the data, but once I exit out of Import Manager and try to open the same map, it crashes and closes the application. I am not sure what the issue my be. Could it be the fields I am mapping to are creating a conflict somewhere? Has anyone encountered the same problem. Any insight on this issue would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

This was happening to me as well. Basically, the data I was submitting was much too large for MDM to handle which resulted in a timeout. To resolve this, I copied my data to temp tables to minimize the number of records I was sending it. After my experience with Import Manager, I think it's safe to say that it was not intended for large data loads. In the future I will be using Import Server and translate my data to XML.

So one day when I opened my mozilla firefox Ive got the "Firefox is already running but not responding.To open a new window,you must first close the existing firefox process,or restart your system."
So I checked my task manager but there is no process,I then checked hours in the internet to find a solution.Yes,I also checked for solutions in this site.Then,I try uninstalling and restarting,it also didn't work,Next I also tried downloading profilemanager and tried to run it but as unlucky as I can be,it also didn't work. Please help :(

The Reset Firefox feature can fix many issues by restoring Firefox to its factory default state while saving your essential information.

To Reset Firefox do the following:
#Go to Firefox > Help > Troubleshooting Information.
#Click the "Reset Firefox" button.
#Firefox will close and reset. After Firefox is done, it will show a window with the information that is imported. Click Finish.
#Firefox will open with all factory defaults applied.

LR Color Management - Calibration and Monitor (not your typical post)

I see that there are still many issues around color management and printing in LR. I have had similar problems in past and Im still trying to work though them. The most touted problem is not calibrating or having a bad monitor profile. Well, I have tried calibrating my display with worse results. I get better results with an un-calibrated display, not exact results, but closer than with a calibrated display. My only computer is a Dell Latitude D830 with an LCD display and Nvidia Quadro 140M graphics card with a Spyder2 Suite calibration tool.
After doing a fair bit of research online and speaking to other photographers (pro and amateur) Ive learned that laptop displays are notoriously difficult to calibrate due to their inability to display a wide range of color and contrast. There is also no way to adjust white point, RGB or any other setting on my display, only brightness and contrast. (perhaps a big part of the problem?)
I was told that only high end displays (NEC, LaCie, Eizo etc @ $1000,00 this being the low end, and up) were the only way to get accurate colors. Others had said that LG and Samsung make a decent display at the $300.00 price point that would deliver good results but not pro level color management. Other than that go, back to an old CRT display. What is a semi-pro level display that renders excellent color that I wont have to re-mortgage my house to pay for?
So heres my question to all of those who have said you need to calibrate and you have a bad profile can you please tell us your system set up (i.e. display, calibration tool, room lighting and set up etc..)?
Im really interested in what you are doing more, better or differently than everyone else.

Nothing much. Same calibrator in addition to another Huey Pro which gives almost indistinguishable results. I use both a Apple Mac Book Pro and a Mac Pro with a 30" DELL wide gamut adobeRGB display. Colors on the two are identical (if they're not outside of the laptop's gamut) and identical to prints from labs and direct prints. Of course these displays are between far better and quite a bit better than the display on a typical Dell laptop that are notoriously bad. If you're looking at your monitor at the right angle and you have calibrated the display correctly, the color should look homogeneous (i.e. completely neutral and the same grey everywhere). If you cannot find an angle at which this is correct, than it is likely your monitor can simply not be calibrated or that your calibrator is defective (there was a batch of defective Spyders a while ago). In general, it is certainly not true that laptop displays cannot be calibrated.

They are quite wrong and a rather snooty thing to say. The point of these high priced displays is that they will give better color in [B]non[/B]-colormanaged applications, but with a good calibrator, a reasonably good screen and [B]correct color management [/B](such as that in Lightroom, Photoshop, preview.app, Safari, etc.) you will get about as good color as the more expensive displays. Some of these, such as the EIZO give you wider gamuts higher bit color, or hardware adjustable white point, which are also a major selling points if you're doing very critical work but only if paired with good calibration and managed apps. Pro level color management is a function of the calibrator and the software - and only in part of the display. Most displays, with a few exceptions, can be made to give good color, as long as you use a hardware calibrator and managed apps.

After much research and troubleshooting, GoToMeeting replied with the final answer: We do not support the uploading of recordings to editing software. If you are having issues uploading a recording, unfortunately, we do not have tools or steps to resolve this. It is not a supported feature. I am sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused you.
The no longer plan to support editing of recordings made with their software. So, we are planning to find a new meeting provider.

Help, My CC Desktop Download Manager freezes and does not launch

Hello, I have a seat in Kiewit Enterprise License, but I need to download Audition and when I click the download link, my manager pops up all white and the circle of death begins to spin then freezes for hours? What can I do?

Google Mail, calendar and reader not shown in HTML5

Good Afternoon,
I have a 32gb iPad. I was checking emails in gmail website and works great in html5. But it seems that i changad the view to "desktop view" and from then i cannot change it again to html5. So, all Google apps are shown in desktop view.
What i can do to see them in the new html5 look?

Go to Settings >> Safari and clear your "history", "cookies" & "cache". Then try accessing Google Mail.

Records Management - Drag and drop functionality

Hi,
I'm trying to find out how it is possible to limit 'drag and drop' functionality for nodes. For example, let's say we have model nodes A and B with all element types assigned and visible for all roles. I want to be able to automatically store documents in both A and B nodes but not to be able to drag and drop documents from node A to node B.
Does anyone have idea if/how this is possible?

To restrict the drag and drop functionality, please check the function module SRM_REC_UPDATE_NODE_DESC. I havenu2019t implemented this but I guess this would help you.

Adobe Reader add-on does not appear in IE9

After updating Adobe reader 11, I can no longer open pdf in Explorer (works in Chrome). When I go to Manage Add-Ons, Reader does not appear on the list, therefore I can't enable or disable.
Any suggestions on how to get it to appear and work in IE9? This was never an issue prior to the "upgrade"

Try going into Settings > iCloud and toggling the Contacts button off and on and see if you can then add contacts in the Contacts app

The Notes features of the 3G iPod Nano only supports TXT files and not Word Documents. If you want to be able to read these word documents, you'll need to copy the text from each over to a text file. See here for more information.

Records Management Sytem link to DMS Document

I'm trying to programatically create a document in DMS from Records Management System and create a link to the document. I can create the document using BAPI_DOCUMENT_CREATE2 but cannot figure out a way to link to the document.
Does anyone know if there is a BAPI or function module to do this?

BAPIs SRM_RECORD_ADDELEMENT & SRM_RECORD_ADDELEMENTS can be used to add one or more than one elements in a record.
Please note that if adding an object to arecord is one processing step in a bigger process which may need access to same record again & again then it is better to use record APIs(methods of IF_SRM_SP_RECORD) . BAPIs should be used for one off access to records since every BAPI opens record, makes changes & then closes record.
For a bigger process which requires access to same record again & again, opening & closing records so many times becomes costly for performance.
