Recovery from a crashed OS

Question

I am using Oracle 10g 10.0.1 on windows advance server 2000. The situation is that OS has been crashed and we have all the oracle's data available in hard drives. Now we have installed fresh copy of windows server. Now please guide me how to start oracle, is it possible to install oracle in diffrent location then copy all datafile of previous one on new one?
Please help me as soon as possible....

1.- The files you need for this recovery are only : the datafiles. Maybe the controlfiles and redo logs are not going to function now depending of the crash so, before carry out the following steps take a backups of all the datafiles.
2.- Install the Oracle Server in the fresh installation of Windows 2000
3.- In order to set the issues easily create a database with the DBCA with the same sid of the previous database. This step is to save time for creating a database in a manual way
4.- Shutdown the database and remove from the OS the datafiles, redo logs and controlfiles of the database that you created with the wizard
5.- Create the controlfiles for the database with the files of the old database
Creating a Controlfile: Example
This statement re-creates a control file. In this statement, database demo was created with the WE8DEC character set. The example uses the word path where you would normally insert the path on your system to the appropriate Oracle directories.
