  • Re: Recurring Journal entries

    Hello,
Is there a way to deal with recurring journal entries in BPC?
    Please share your thoughts.
    Kind regards,
    RJ

The "project" field should also be available in the "Account Balance" grid.  Every journal entry has a project code so it makes no sense that you can not view, filter, or sort by this field.

  • Recurring Journals in HFM

I am currently reporting half yearly, and have completed Dec 08 data, and now successfully loaded June 09 data.
However, when I went to use the recurring journals (for June 09), the Dec 08 data has changed, despite the Dec 08 period being locked and closed. The journals (4 of them) are still in Dec 08 journals and marked as "Posted", however the impact of those journals has changed the Dec 08 balances.
If anyone has any suggestions as to why/how Dec 08 data has changed, I would be very grateful !!
(Please forgive me if there is another post on this topic, I did a search on "recurring" and "journals" and cant find any, so if there is one, please include it).

    Hi,
I am sorry Oracle Applications does not have this feature as of now.
If you click on lines you will find that the currencies which can be choosen is Monetary or Stat.
Secondly if you have to generate such recurring foreign journals, you need to give conversion rates.
I hope I making things clear

  • Error when changing the POV period of a recurring journal

We recently upgraded from HFM 9.3.1 to 11.1.1.3 and are going through our first monthly close with the upgraded application. Everything had been working fine until today when one of the application administrators attempted to post a recurring journal. He was able to open the recurring journal, but after he set the POV to the current month, he received the following message:
An unknown error has occurred in the HsvDSJournals object.

If you have the clip in your viewer window
to change the speed it is in themotion tab.
I also use the right click alot and run in to this problem.
You could just pull the clip to the end of your timeline,
    adjust the speed,
then place the clip back where you want it.
But that is not an efficent work flow

  • Loan transaction - straight line or reducing balance method

    Hi all,
i have a question here.  It is regarding interest rate instrument product in SAP-TRM.
For interest rate instrument/ loan product can we set whether the interest can be charged either on straight line method or reducing balance method?
Your soonest feedback is highly appreciated.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
Both are supported. For straight line method you can choose the Interest Form - Amount and for Reducing balance method choose - Fix or Variable Rate option in interest structure.

  • Project Code in recurring journal postings

    Hi All,
Does anyone know whether SAP plans to include the option of using project codes on recurring journals in future versions as it's been flagged up a few times by our customers?
    Kind Regards,
    Matt

    Hi Matt,
Based on the road map for the new version, I have not seen this detailed new feature. It might be include already. However, this is too detailed function. It is no document to prove up to now.

  • Could it possible to post Recurring Journal entry every day?

    Hi Experts
Could it possible to post Recurring Journal entry every day?
    Please provide the configuration steps.
Note: Defined Document type and number range,
In FBD1 , when I try post the entry, showing only monthly intervals.
    Thanks in advance
    Srinath

    Hi Srinat,
Please try with Run Date and Run Schedule, T.code OBC1 and OBC2:
    Run Schedule for Recurring Entries
Plan which contains the required run dates for recurring entry original  documents. Using the run schedule, accounting documents can be created from recurring entry original documents at any intervals.
    Procedure
Specify the run schedule by which the recurring entry original document is to be carried out. Alternatively, you can specify the run by specifying an interval in months and a run day.
If you use a run schedule, you must have defined this previously in the  Financial Accounting configuration. In addition, make sure that the recurring  entry program is carried out as often as appropriate and with the suitable  parameters. For a run schedule with weekly dates, for example, the recurring entry program must also be started weekly.

  • Handling Recurring Journal Entries in BPC 7.0NW

    Hi all,
I'm looking for suggestions on handling the posting of Recurring Journal entries in a Legal Consolidation.  I'm new to BPC, and am afraid I don't know the "best" way to do this.  Currently, we are assuming that we would "copy" the previous months' entries into the new month, but when I do this, the Description of the entry says "Copy xxxx", which of course is not acceptable!  The users don't want to have to open and maintain the description on 30 entries every month when the values posted are the same.
Perhaps there is another way to handle these entries?
Thanks in advance for any comments-
    Valerie

The documentation around re-opening journals isn't really clear; I wasn't sure of the purpose of re-open.
Can you re-open a journal multiple times?  In other words, the journal is created in January, and you re-open it in Feb, Mar, Apr, etc. for many months?  Or do you flag each new journal as re-open, and re-open the one from the period before in the new month, i.e. the Jan journal re-opened in Feb; the Feb journal re-opened in Mar.
Can you change the values in the journal after you re-open and before you save?
And lastly, does the new journal in any way affect the original journal?
I know there is a translation table associated with re-opening journals, but as far as I can see I can leave this table with a single entry indicating "*" for all dimensions, which means the Entity, Account and Intercompany dimensions will stay the same upon re-opening.  Is this your experience?
    Thanks for you help!

  • Recurring journal creation - Amount type QTD not found

    Hi
Query while entering recurring formula lines
I am not able to find amount type QTD while creating recurring journal line. I want to perform calculation on quarterly total for an account.
I am able to find only PTD and YTD in the drop down.
How can this be set / is possible to configure the same?
    Thanks

    Hi
I am particularly looking for amount types in formula line after you select "Actual / budget" and currency.
You have options to select amount for period ragne as PTD or YTD and I do not find QTD there.
Later looking at the Docs I noticed that formula line can take only PTD and YTD and not QTD.
I am looking from the perspective of how I can calculate total of last 3 months Sales for commision calculation!!
Suppose if I start from Jan onwards on Qtrly basis
Please give some clues if possible
    Thank you

  • Post journal of Balance carryforward

    Hello Expert,
Normally In SAP R/3, when we run balance carryforward of GL account (Tcode:F.16), system will carry forward balance in next year and dont post any journal in FI.
One of our client of china wants to post journal of Balance carry forward . Is it possible in SAP R/3? and what is use of posting key which customized in OB53 transaction?
I heard that it was possible in SAP R/2. I dont know whether it is right or wrong.
    please help me.
    Thanks

Yes dear you can carry forward balance through Journal entry. I dont see any reason why you cannot do the same in thing in SAP R/3.
As far as OB53 concerns, defined posting key are used while carrying forward balances of P & L accounts through F.16  to Reatained Earnings account.
This will not have any impact on your JV if you are posting the same manually.

  • Recurring Journals - Request Project Field is available

    Hi,
My customer has asked that the Project field be included on the Recurring Journals option.
This would allow them to post monthly rent journals automatically with the correct analysis using the project field.
Please consider this update for a future release.
    Thanks
    Greig

    Hi
Thanks for your idea, actually, we have already aware of that and decided to do the enhancement in next main release version.
We will add project field to Recurring posting and posting template. Also we will do a complete check to add project field to more forms if necessary for project assignment.

  • Recurring Journal Entry Attaching Supporting Documentation

Can someone tell me how to attach supporting documentation to a recurring journal so that it will show on each of the monthly entries. Similiar to what can be done on a manual journal.

    Hello,
Supporting documentation means you mean to have long notes for a entry or any word document  ??
For long notes you can use Long text field.
Later case Standard sap dont give any option unless you go for any Z Program wherein
you can have this kind of functionality.
Below is a link which talks about linking Document in Sales order.
How to Attach Document in Z Transaction
    Hope this helps

  • Journal Entry - Balanced CheckBox defined by Default

    Hi Experts,
I have the following requirement in a project that I’m involved with: when the user posts a Journal, the system must show a warning if the journal is unbalanced.
I know that JRN_BALANCED parameter can be configured in the Model Parameters on the Planning and Consolidation Administration Client, but this does not meet our requirement, because it will force the user to always post balanced journals. The user must be able to input balanced and unbalanced journals.
If the "Balanced" checkbox is checked on the journal menu, the system will show this warning, but the user has to check it every time he creates a new journal. So ideally, the best option would be making the "Balanced" option always checked by default.
Is this possible? If it is, how I can achieve it?
If not, is there any other solution for meeting this requirement?
    Best Regards,
    João Afonso

    Hi João,
I don't think you haven't other choices in BPC but you can build easy a query in a report with a connection to the journal tables that extracts the list and you can do it a list with "condition formattings" as warnings.
