Reducing margins when printing multiple pages on one sheet

When I print a pdf document from Preview, a document from Pages, or from any other application and select the Layout-> Pages Per Sheet as 2, 4, or more, very large margins are put around each sheet and between the pages on the sheet. If these margins could be reduced, the print size would be bigger. Is there any way to reduce these margins (say down to 1cm or so)?

I figured out a way to reduce the margins. You can do it quickly by choosing Scale to Fit-> Fill Entire Paper, from the Preview settings in the print dialog box. You can also increase the scaling to make the writing fill up more of the page manually by choosing Scale -> and putting a higher percent. The preview window is helpful in showing what it will look like.

  • A way to reduce margins when printing multiple pages per sheet?

I really like the new leopard print dialog box. Is there a way of reducing the large margins when printing 2, 4, or more pages per sheet (in Layout)?

You could use custom page sizes (in the Page Setup dialog) or you could see if the settings in the Paper Handling panel help at all.

  • Stop printing multiple pages on one sheet

When printing from Acrobat or Reader, the print preview and settings show that I am printing a single page on one sheet of paper. However, it actually prints two pages side-by-side on one sheet of paper. How would I stop this? This is the only program that does this. I have checked all printing settings in all Adobe products as well as the printer settings in the device's properties. Your help is greatly appreciated.

It seems like an issue the with PostScript drivers installed on the machine. Did you install the latest version of PS Drivers on the customer's machine?
    You can also check this:
    Click on Advanced
    Select PostScript options
    Select Language Level 2
    and then try.

  • Printing multiple pages on one sheet not working.

    Hey All,
I'm reasonably new to the mac environment and am having trouble getting pages to print multiple flyers on a single sheet. I've set the flyer up in Page Setup for it's actual size which is 4 x5.5inches. I've created the flyer within this size sheet. When I select Print and choose 4 pages per sheet under layout options, nothing happens. The preview does not update and the printed doc (both pdf and on my deskjet only have one small image as opposed to 4. Any ideas as to what's going on?
I've used this type of feature on many other applications so I think i have a good grasp as to how it's supposed to work but am prepared to be educated!
    thx!

Here doing that I get a normal behavior:
    You may try:
    a - quit/close Numbers
    trash the preferences file:
    <bootVolume>:Users:<yourAccount>:Library:Preferences:com.apple.iWork.Numbers.pli st
    empty the trash
    restart Numbers.
b - try to do the job from an other user account

  • Keep recto/verso page placement when printing 'Multiple' pages on single sheet

    Dear All,
my book is designed for duplex printing. Every chapter starts on recto (odd) page.
When I need to print it for proofreading in the multiple mode (2 pages on single sheet), pages do not follow the original intent as the first page is placed on the verso page (left half of the sheet), not recto one (right half). I couldn't find any option to place the first page on the recto 'side' in the Print dialog.
My current workaround is to place one blank page at the beginning of my PDF file.
But I'd like to avoid this manual step in the future. Is there a more efficient way?
Btw, it would be nice to add a single option for this into the Print dialog. It could be handy for everyone.
What is the best place for such kind of feature request?
    Thanks, Jan

  • In Pages '09, OSX 10.8 how do I print multiple pages on one sheet of paper.  (I used to be able to do this in earlier versions via the "page setup" menu.

Forget it.  The answer is that the multiple page per page setup comes up in the printing menu.  (When you do command-P)

Click on the Show Details button in the Print dialog.
Whenever options seem to disappear, have a look around and explore what is available. Particular when they have what appears to be relevent labels.

  • Any way to get more than 100% zoom on print jobs when printing multiple pages?

I know how to increase the size of a print job, when I am printing one page at a time. But when I go to print 2 pages at once (the multiple page print function), there are always large margins around the page. I'm ok with saving paper and printing up two pages, but it seems silly to see small print and wide blank margins. Is there any way to increase the print zoom, when printing multiple pages per sheet of paper?

I once overshot the limit by marking too many photos to fit within 99 pages, but I could never figure out how to fool the application and had to give up trying to add those 14 extra photos.
I asked a friend (who practically lives in Terminal) if he had any way of modifying that limit, but he reminded me that if their printing services are set up to bind books and bill for only 99 pages, fooling the application might be useless if the service only prints me a 99 page book and discards the additional pages.
I can understand that you wouldn't want to let people print 1000 page books, but I sent feedback anyway to allow me to increase the limit. Anyone know of any service that lets you print beyond iPhoto's limits?

  • Disable Auto-Centring When Printing Multiple Pages

    Hello,
I am using Adobe Reader XI Version 11.0.04 (mac). I am trying to print multiple pages (specifically custom 1 by 3 portrait), but am finding that the 3 pages auto-centre (appear in the middle of the page). Is there a way to disable this auto-centring so that the three pages can be flush to th left of the page (e.g. left margin).
    Thanks

  • Print multiple pages on one page in Preview?

I tried to print a PDF in OSX Lion and I was unable to find the option to print multiple pages on one Page. Instead there is an option to print multiple copies of pages on one page. Does anybody know where I can find the old option from (as in Snow Leopard, Leopard, Tiger..)? (See screenshot.)
    Thanks!

Look under the "Vorschau" menu for the Layout menu, and then choose "Seiten pro Blatt."
    Hope this helps.

  • How can I print multiple images on one sheet:  PSE 10/Mac?

When printing, I can have all of my images in the dialoug box - but cannot figure out how to get more than one image on a sheet!  For example, I am printing several photos a 2x2, and want to put as many as possilble on 1 sheet instead of using a seperate sheet for each image.  I am on a Mac.
Any ideas??  I can't seem to find the answer.  Thanks!

Thanks for the reply to wdwpartners question.
I am new to PSE 10 (on Windows 7) and having the same problem with printing multiple photos on one sheet.  With 14-20  images both contact sheet and picture package force you into 2x2 prints, not the image's original HxW ratio thus loosing some of the image on paper.  Am I missing something?
My old version of PSE gave me an option to "print multiple photos" and custom select the image dimentions which was very useful to me.  Please let the powers that be know this user asked for that option back!!
    Thanks for a reply.

  • Print multiple photos on one sheet in Photoshop Elements 11

I want to print multiple photos on one sheet in Photoshop Elements 11
I am using Mac OS10 10.7.5  I am using Photo shop Elements 11.  Could you please help me?  New to photoshop elements.  Thanks.  Jodie

Well, you can start with File>Picture Package. If that doesn't offer a layout that works, create a new file (file>new>blank file) the size of your paper at the  resolution you want, then copy paste your pictures into it and use the Move tool to position them.

  • When printing multiple pages from an internet email or webpage, only the first page is properly fitted on the page. All subsequent pages are cut off on the right side. What's the fix?

I have set the print settings to "Ignore scaling and Fit to Page" and it seems to work only for the first page of a multi-page webpage or email chain. Nothing I've done seems to fix it. I've set the print settings to 90% scale in page set-up in order to print FedEx online waybills properly, but I can't seem to solve the other problems.

Doc: I've had a similar experience, and here are the details, investigation, and a workaround. My printer is a Brother MFC-645CN, and I'm using Snow Leopard (10.6.8) on a 2010 iMac quad i5 connected to the printer over my ethernet LAN. Are you using a Brother printer?
Firefox has shown this kind of nasty issue for the past six months or so. It seems to be related to the imaging algorithms in Preview when dealing with Firefox (now at v.12) and the Brother printer -- the screwy second page (and beyond) show up skewed and up-sized when doing a print preview also. No such problem seen in Safari or anything else. I am not currently using any other Mozilla apps on this Mac besides Firefox.
A few months ago I tested printing from my administrator account and  a different user account. Firefox printing was completely normal and as expected. When I went back to my main user account, back came the funky second page.I went through extensive troubleshooting to try to chase it down, systematically removing and replacing apps and preferences and many other Library files related to printing, Brother drivers, Firefox, and Preview. Nothing helped. Solution was to migrate my user files to an account where the printing problem wasn't happening. I deleted the problem user account.
Everything was fine for about three weeks, and then with no warning, printing was back to the bad second page, just as before. I am stumped, and I'll let smarter people try to figure it out. I use Firefox a lot, and it's possible that some add-on setting is interfering, or a web page I visited turned the printing funky again. I just don't know.
Also checked on a Mac G4 running Leopard (10.5.8) and Firefox 3.6.28. No printing/preview problems there.
Now, for the work-around I am currently using -- print each page separately, one at a time. Page 1, then page 2, etc. Preview and printing looks completely normal. Hope this works for you until the bug is located and squashed for good.
    Glenn
