  • Import of Solution Manager reference data to ARIS

    Hi all,
I would like to import SAP Solution Manager data to ARIS.
Is it possible to perform that simply importing a SolMan file including reference data to ARIS or do we need to create an interface between SolMan and ARIS?
We would like to do this in the most simple way as possible since it is for demo purposes only.
So if you have any idea please let me know.
    Thanks,
    //Anders

    Anders,
I have done similar demos in the past. based on my experience I am giving a quick step by step procedure for doing this.
Create Project in SAP Solution Manager and define system landscape by choosing the
SAP components based on the selected scenarios.
(ii) Analyze and Select the content from the Solution Manager BPR based on the
    finalized Scenarios/Processes.
(iii) Establish a Project Database on the ARIS Server and merge the As-Is Scenario/Process
from the existing ARIS DB into this.
(iv) Synchronize Solution Manager Project with ARIS and establish the link between
    ARIS Project DB and SolMan.
    (v) Perform analysis of the As-Is Process in conjunction with selected scenarios from Solution
Manager reference content and define the structure and scope.
(vi) Align the As-Is Process with the Reference Framework from Solution Manager and
    add/delete steps as required.
(vii) The Business process architecture is adapted to the SAP Reference Content aligned to the
structural layers of Solution Manager (Scenario, Process and Process Step).
(viii) Synchronize the Business flows created in ARIS  with Solution Manager and update
    structure on both ends.
Hope this helps you. Let me know if you need anyother information.

  • Search for [Remote Key] and [Remote System] in Data Manager

    Hello all
I would like to be able to search on the remote key and the remote system in the MDM Data Manager is that not possible? I thought I remembered seeing that possibility under the Free-Form Search but now I can't find it.
I have, however, found this in the Data Manager reference guide:
REMOTE SYSTEM AND REMOTE KEY FIELDS
MDM uses the remote systems defined in the Remote Systems table
within the MDM Console to store and maintain key mapping information
for each record or text attribute. It does this using a virtual “key
mapping” field that you never see in the MDM Client.
This virtual key mapping field is very much like a qualified lookup field
into a virtual key mapping qualified lookup table.
Key Mapping information stored in virtual lookup field
    The Remote System and Remote Key fields are normally not visible;
however, they do appear in several places in the MDM Client.
Specifically, both fields: (1) appear in the File > Export dialogs in Record
mode for exporting value pairs; (2) are recognized by the File > Import
dialog in Record mode for importing value pairs; and (3) appear in the
Edit Key Mappings dialogs in both Record mode and Taxonomy mode,
for viewing and editing value pairs.
Is there any way to search on the value in the remote key from the Data Manager?

Not sure search i think not possible.
But you can see keys as mentioned:
    Enable Key mapping in Console.
MDM Client maens MDM Data Manager.
They do appear in several places in the MDM Client or Data Manager. Three different methods to see in DM are given already below:
Specifically, both fields: (1) appear in the File > Export dialogs in Record mode for exporting value pairs; (2) are recognized by the File > Import dialog in Record mode for importing value pairs; and (3) appear in the Edit Key Mappings dialogs in both Record mode and Taxonomy mode, for viewing and editing value pairs.

  • MDM Data Manager Masks, field Shared

    Hi experts,
while creating a mask in the MDM Data Manager I noticed the field Shared. It can be set to Yes and No.
Can anyone tell me what this field does? I couldn't find any reference to it in the documentation of the MDM Data Manager, current version, MDM 7.1 SP07, May 12, 2011.
    Best regards,
    Marcus

    Hi Adrivit,
could you please elaborate a bit more?
I just created a Mask that is not shared. Then I logged on with another user. That other user can see the mask and select it in the data manager. That other user also see the records contained within the mask.
I don't see any chenge when I set the Mask to shared.
Is this something that is related to Roles, maybe?
    Best regards,

  • Error while running data manager

    Hi
If I run the copy function in the data manager I am getting this error.
"[Errcheck] An error occured while checking an error from webservice. 91: Object reference not set to an instance of an object."
What should I do now ?
    Thanks and Regards
    Vijay

    Hi
i think you need to define the source and the destination properly
if you will copy 2 accounts in only one account you need to specify twice the destination account
    example
    source                                     destination
    account1,account2                    account3,account3

  • Cross reference data from 2 different ecc system.

    Hi Sdners,
Iam working on a scenario where i have to get data from two different Ecc system, consolidate them and send it back to their respective system.
But some refernce data in both the systems are different and when iam merging data from 2 system i have to maintain either of the reference data. But problem comes when i syndicate it back to ECC ,it cannot accept a new reference data.
Please suggest me some answere how to proceed in such case.
    Its urgent.
Points will be rewarded for Genuine answeres.
    Thanks in advance,
    Regards,
    Neethu.

    Hi,
First enable keymapping property to YES  for the table which you want to do
    importing and syndicatig.
Create two remote systems type inbound/outbound .
Import the data from first remote system and map the corresponding fields.
Don't forget to map the remotekey field which is on the destination side.Make clone
of one of the dispaly field and map to the remote key field.
After importing you can see the records from which remote system are imported
using Edit Key Mappings option in DataManager. It shows that remotesystem
    name and corresponding remote key.
Do the same for second remote system too.
After merging data in data manager , you can see the merged record and see the
two remote systems names and two remote keys by using Edit Key Mappings
option so the merged record goes back to both remote systems when you syndicate
    the records.
Syndicate the data from first remote system by selecting destination properties and
output remote system property under map properties tab as your first remote
    system.
Do the mapping for corresponding fields and don't forget to map the value field under
remote key .Then MDM generates remote keys for only records belongs to your
first remote system. You can see this in destination preview. It does n't genarate
remote keys for second remote system. Then check the option Suppress records
without key under map properties tab and execute the syndication. Finally we can
    see the accurate records.
Do the same for second remote system too.
    Hope it helps
    Cheers

  • Import Comments data and Dimension Members from csv file via Data Manager

    Dear Experts,
I have two questions regarding the data manager.
Q1.Is it possible to import "Comments" from the csv file via Data Manager?
We'd like to import the amount with "Comments".
    My image of csv file is like below;
    ACCOUNT,CATEGORY,TIME,ENTITY,INPUTCURRENCY,AMOUNT,COMMENTS
    1100000,ACTUAL,2010/06,LC,30000,This is comment
Q2.Is it possible to import the dimension "members" from the csv file via Data Manager?
We have a user-defined dimension named "Project"
and would like to import the members, instead of maintaining them in BPC administration manually.
I found an online help information which says "Import Master Data from a Data File Example",
but I could not find any relevant sample package for this.
(I tried to import the members by using "Import" package, but it failed...)
    reference:http://help.sap.com/saphelp_bpc75/helpdata/en/86/8b1bfc12c94fb0b585cca70d6f1b61/content.htm
Thanks in advance for your help.
    Fumi

    Hi Fumi,
In this case, I would suggest you to create a customized SSIS package which will fill-in the "Comment<APP>" table, according to the csv file you have. I do not know any standard package that allows you to import comment the way you would like...

  • Data Manager : SQL Update Error

    HI Gurus,
    In Data Manager,
we are trying to execute assignment on 900 records at once, assignment working fine when we split it in to 300 inbatch, but it gives assignment execution failed : SQL Update error, while we execute on 900 records in a streach. we are wondering what causes this error when it is executed more than 400 records. please through some lights on this.
Note: Assignment got one IF conditon , IF (expression, value), here expression got <conditon1> OR <condition2> OR <condition3>...... OR <Consition35>
    Thanks in advace

    Hi,
I feel you are getting this error because the assignment which you are trying to execute is little complex, and database does not have sufficient resources at that point to execute the SQL statement. I feel,  this will be happening on irregular basis.
Please check below document for more details about cause and actions (page no 210)

  • Syndication process - Tags in Data manager Selecting the map in Syndication

    Hello Experts,
I am supporting a repository in MDM 7.1, and there is a part of the syndication process that i don´t know how does it work. This is the process what i mean:
The repository works with 3 different maps, the map is selected in  MDM Data Manager belong a 'syndicatable' tag. Two of the maps are selected inside Qalified tables.
What i need to know is where could i see the configuration for that automatic mapping (it is performed belong MDSS), could anybody help me?
    Thanks in advance,
    Mariano Pinkava.

    Hi Mariano,
In addition, please go through page 223 (mds.ini) & 272 of Console Reference Guide.
    Syndication File Location:
When MDSS completes a syndication to a port, it places the syndication file in the portu2019s Ready folder. The Ready folder is part of the following fixed directory structure, located beneath the MDM Serveru2019s distribution root directory:
    root/DBMSinstance_DBMStype/RepositoryName/Outbound/ RemoteSystem/PortName/Ready
    where:
u2022 root is the distribution root directory (set in mds.ini).
u2022DBMSinstance is the network identifier used to specify the DBMS instance name and DBMStype is the four-character identifier for the DBMS type (i.e. MSQL, ORCL, IDB2).
u2022RepositoryName, RemoteSystem, and PortName are the values entered in the Code property for each item in MDM Console.
    Thanks,

  • Reference Data of Customer from R3 to CRM

    Hi Group,
we downloaded ECC customers to CRM 5.0. now we have a situation where we want to see reference data of Customer: 1) Prev.aact no, 2) Buying Group in CRM.
these feilds are maintained in ECC in "Company Code Data" of Customer Master under "Account management" tab.
can somebody help me figure out which fields in CRM are these mapped to and where can i see them in CRM "BP" transaction.
Appreciate your time. and help is awarded.

    Hi Anu,
As Jai mentioned it is not easy to bring in additional customer master fields from R/3 to CRM during the download.
This can acheived by extending the middleware functionality. Also you need to extend the CRM BP with these additional fields.
First identify the fields on CRM BP in order to recive the data from R/3 fields. For this you may use some of the unused fields in the CRM BP or extend the BP using EEWB to accomodate new fields.
Then you have to enhance the middleware by writing a custom function module to move new field data into bapimtcs structure. Then move the data from bapimtcs structure into appropriate CRM fields. Also you need to take the precaution for delta changes on these fields.
This process is involved lot of development effort and you should be able to get some code samples from this forum's previous threads.
<u><b>Here the note which exactly addresses your requirement : 863611</b></u>
    Reward points if it helps

  • Classes in Master Data Management

    Hello All,
Why Classes are used in Master Data management. What is the Concept of Distribution Class for distributing Master
Data. Kindly help me to understand the Concept.
    Regards,
    Hazam

    Cookoid
You comment regarding 'changing the nature of authorisations' is an interesting one because as you have already pointed out and is consistent with the way the product(s) work; you cannot change any more than your SAP credentials allow you to change.
All that said, quite rightly; the idea of being able to perform mass changes on ANYTHING in your SAP system of record should not be taken lightly and due diligence should be applied in determining who should have such tools and under what circumstances they should be used. Design and testing in QA or pre-production environments is an absolute must and this discipline should be applied with the same level of enthusiasm and commitment as you would any objects that you develop for productive use even if they are LSMW or regular BDC's.
The product supports a controlled release approach if implemented in a particular way, using centralised license management and workflow controls around the scripts and data templates and workbooks. Scripts can be restricted to particular SAP instances, particular volumes of data, particular transactions, particular times of day/week/month for execution.
Additionally you have two types of licenses, author/developer licenses and runner-only licenses. This avoids you landing up in a situation where inexperienced users can create their own automation objects, in such circumstances these users would typically only be given a runner license.
Some customers don't choose to use this governance and compliance approach though and choose to buy only the authoring tools, accordingly they essentially leave the door open to the creation of potentially harmful objects.
Again exhaustive testing is always recommended. WIth over 1,000 customers globally there are plenty of ASUG member references and you should actually be able to get referrals to existing customers who can tell you how they have introduced and manage controls around the use of the products.

  • Reference Data - self provided

    Hi
Just starting to work my way through this - is it possible to set up reference data from anywhere other than Azure? Say for example I had an internally maintained list of Product Names I wanted to use as lookup for reference data, how could I reference
that (other than by repeatedly importing it from Excel)?
To add complexity, can SSDQS talk to Master Data Services? (and if not... why not?)
    Cheers, James
    James Beresford @ www.bimonkey.com

    SSIS ETL Framework on Codeplex

    Hi James,
Thank you for your comments and questions.
    1. MDS does "talk" to DQS, via the MDS Excel add-in. The Excel add-in has a built-in functionality to de-duplicated its records, and this is done via DQS. You can either use a pre-defined KB in the DQS server, or a default KB that we will create on the fly
    based on your Excel data.
    2. As for using reference data - there are three ways to go about doing that, only two available now.
      a. Onboard this data into your knowledge base via import or via knowledge discovery. This way the domain in the KB will contain all your reference data, and you can use this for cleansing or matching purposes. This is the easiest, swiftest way of
    doing that.
      b. Create a service and onboard it to DataMarket. The service itself does not need to be running on Azure - you can host it yourself. This is what was done by our current reference data providers (MelissaData, CDyne, Digital Trowel and Loqate, which
you can see under the data quality services category). There is an API for doing that will soon be published for general availability. This is especially relevant if you feel that your data may be relevant for additional users, and so you may want to onboard
it to datamarket for public consumption.
      c. (To be available in the next update of DQS) - create a "private" reference data service, and hook it directly to DQS (via the "direct" section in the reference data setting tabs in the DQS configuration. Again, this API has not yet been publicly
released, we are currently working on finalizing it and will provide updates later on.
Right now, it seems that the best solution for what you're trying to do would be a, but we are planning on improving this capability soon.
    Thanks,
    Elad
