ReferenceUSA

Has anybody managed to access ReferenceUSA using Safari and starting from their county library's web site?
Entering your library card number on the library site is supposed to redirect you with authorization to access ReferenceUSA databases. It is supposed to bypass the login screen on ReferenceUSA.com
This works for me using vanilla Firefox 3.0.6, but not vanilla Safari 3.2.1.
That suggests Safari is handling the underlying security transaction differently. I tried turning on 'always accept cookies' and clearing Safari cache but no luck. What else should I try?
The ReferenceUSA help section is Windows-centric and no clues except reduce Explorer's security settings or turn off Norton firewall. No help for Safari or Mac users.
I can use Firefox for this site but would prefer Safari. Thanks for any useful ideas!

Hi,
I got it to work. I'm running v10.6.6 with Safari 5.0.3 which is up to date. From your Safari menu bar click Safari / About Safari. If Safari isn't up to date, click your Apple () menu (top left in your screen) Software Update ...
If Safari is 5.0.3 already, from your Safari menu bar click Safari / Preferences then select the Security tab. Click the *Show Cookies* button. Delete any cookies related to: cclibraries.com and referenceusa.com
Quit Safari (Command + A) then relaunch Safari and try accessing the login area again.

  • Reg - Reference User...

    Hi,
If any possible for reference user?
A is main person the same access give to B.
If any update it is automatically change to B also.
    Thanks
    Rajesh...

    Hi ,
this function exists for assigning authorizations and its name is 'referenceuser'....
Simply create a user of type 'reference' in SU01 (usertype on logon-tab).
then assign the roles to this reference user.
Then assign this reference user to user A and user B.
Now both users A,B have the same authorizations. If you change authorizaitons of the reference user, for instance assign an additional role, both user will get this change in parallel. other settings than authorizations are not affected by this function, only authorizations assigned.

  • User-based partitioning

    Hi everybody,
I'm trying to implement user-based data partitioning. I want to store users with the department "IT" in the Database and others in the second Data Store an SAP System.
With the following config.xml I achieved this, but the users that were stored in the sap system became no sap account and could not login to the sap system. This is becaue I've set the <homeFor> <principal name="account"> .. on the database side.
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>

to the <homeFor> section of the database
and <notHomeFor> section of the sap system
and of course adding: <principal type="account"> to <homeFor> of SAP System.
    It didn't worked.
So my question is how can I specify that an account for the user with department "IT" should also be created in the database and all other accounts in the SAP system?
    Regards

    James,
yes. We want to setup external users in a seperate datastore. From the EP documentation I know it is possible but I do not seem to find any docs on how to set it up.
    Thank You, Madhavi
