Refresh problem of Webdynpro application which is wrapped in a BSP IFrame

I have a BSP Iframe inside which I am calling a webdynpro application ('zwdc_re_replenishment'). The requirement is that this WD application should be reloaded whenever a timeout occurs. Currently, when there is a timeout, an error is shown.
In order to achieve this, for this WD Application , I have a SICF node to which I have attached a customized Errorpage via the option 'Redirect URL'.
Whenever the WD application undergoes a timeout error, my custom error page is called which is named as errorpage.htm. On this page in the 'OnInitialization event', I try to call the WD application URL again (via the following code) which should reload the application. But instead I get a blank page.
CALL METHOD cl_wd_utilities=>construct_wd_url
  EXPORTING
    application_name = 'zwdc_re_replenishment'
  IMPORTING
    out_absolute_url = lv_def_url.
response->redirect( url         = lv_def_url
                    permanently = 1 ).
Just as a note I have already tried out the following methods as well but nothing works
*navigation->exit( lv_def_url ).
*navigation->call_application( lv_def_url ).
Is this because my WD application is inside a BSP Iframe and therefore reloading it manually does not work ?
Please help!
Thanks.
Sukanya

Hi Thomas,
First of all, thanks a lot for replying !!
Sorry for the confusion. Although seems like you have answered my question already.
Actually the requirement for embedding WDA inside a BSP Iframe came up since there are some WD report applications  that are accessed by very controlled environments in which the users were not able to close the WDA session directly (without the IFrame)  and were getting some errors. Hence the WDAs had to be wrapped inside BSP IFrame which solved the above problem.
I am working with only one BSP app which has the Iframe and one WD app which is called within the BSP app.
Now, the other requirement that came up was that whenever the WDA session inside the BSP IFrame expires, there should be no error page and instead the WD app should be reloaded.
So  I was trying to reload the WD App in the following way.
1. For the SICF node of WDA, I attached an errorpage.htm for all the tabs under the tab 'Error Pages'. I have defined this errorpage.htm inside the same BSP App which has got another default.htm page. So the BSP App has 2 views : default.htm which has the IFrame and Errorpage.htm.
2. So now when the WDA expires, the events of errorpage.htm are called like OnInitialization, In this event I was calling the methods navigation->exit( 'URL of the same WDA' ).
I did this because I wanted to reload the WDA whenever it expires. I tried to specify the WDA Url in the SICF node of the same WDA in 'Redirect URL' under the Error Page tabs but it didnot work.
Now I realize this is not gonna work. I didnot want to modify the WDA and so I didnot specify any exit plugs in the WDA which would have taken care of reloading the WDA. But that seems to be the only way out.
Actually speaking there are multiple WDAs which will open inside the same BSP IFrame via their own Application URLs. I have coded the BSP IFrame to read the URL Parameters and open up the corresponding WDA.  So now I have to define an exit plug in all of these WDAs.
Do you suggest that this will solve the problem of WDA refresh ? Just to confirm.
Thanks again.

  • Problem in Running a Webdynpro Application Which uses itext.jar

    Hi,
    I have created a Webdynpro DC which uses a DC called xxx_lib which contains the external JAR Files. (itext.jar etc)
    This JAR file is in my library path as well.
    I have added the lib_dc as used DC under the webdynpro DC.
    The Compilation and build went fine without any error. But when in run the Application Under ---> Content Administration --> Webdynpro , I am getting the following Error.
    The initial exception that caused the request to fail, was:
    <b>java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: com/lowagie/text/Element
    Failed to create delegate .....
    (Hint: Is the corresponding DC deployed correctly? Does the DC contain the component?)</b>
    Please let me know if somebody knows the solution.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Sekar

    Hi Sekar,
    Please look into the link below.
    https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/7b8180e5-0601-0010-0c94-9bccb92de9c1
    Goto section 2.2.3.1 Defining Libraries Page No. 75
    It gives you the entire process of creating the library DC and referencing the same in your WebDynpro project.
    Hope this helps.

  • Problem acessing webdynpro applications deployed using SDM

    Dear All,
    We have two seperate boxes for ECC 5.0 and (WEBAS + EP).
    I am trying to run ESS and MSS on portal.
    I downloaded BP for ESS/MSS 100(for souce cose) and ESS/MSS 60.1(iview and other content) both.
    I deployed them both through SDM.
    I maintained all required JCo connection with ECC system as my target system.
    I maintained SAP_WEBDYNPRO_XSS system as my WAS system.
    I can see ESS/MSS roles and pages etc in portal.
    Also in webdynpro content administration i can see all deployed service i.e. ess/ar/pdata etc.
    When i select any of the service, and drip down to application node, i get error
    "Failed to find classpath for sap.com/ess~ben"
    or whatever service i select.
    when i run the application i get attached error.
    if you have any clue.. what is missing?
    thanks for your time,

  • Sending Email problem in webdynpro Application

    Hi all,
          I have the written following coding to send a mail.It was working fine till we upgrade our mailing server to Exchange server2007.
      Properties properties = new Properties();
       String SMTPIPAddress = "mail.exchange.com"
       String SMTPAddress = "mail.smtp.host";
        String mailId = "[email protected]";
        Session session;
        Provider p;
        properties = System.getProperties();
        properties.put(SMTPAddress, SMTPIPAddress);
        session = Session.getDefaultInstance(properties, null);
        Message message = new MimeMessage(session);
        message.setFrom(new InternetAddress("[email protected]"));
        message.addRecipient(Message.RecipientType.TO,
                                                       new InternetAddress(mailId));
        message.setSubject("Conference");
        message.setText(strMailBody.toString());
        Transport.send(message);
    Now I am geeting the following error.
          Exception : Sending failed;  nested exception is:
           javax.mail.MessagingException: 530 5.7.1 Client was not authenticated
    When I approahed the Admin people for the above error, since some relay must opened to receive the mail, they said it cannot be done in the exchange server.
    Is there any other way to send mail (different codings)
    Thanks in advance
    Ponnusamy P

    Hi Ponnusamy,
    First of all, use
    Session.getInstance()
    instead of
    Session.getDefaultInstance()
    <i>Since the default session is potentially available to all code executing in the same Java virtual machine, and the session can contain security sensitive information such as user names and passwords, access to the default session is restricted.</i>
    Second, I forgot, <i>To use SMTP authentication you'll need to set the mail.smtp.auth property [...]</i>. See also <a href="http://java.sun.com/products/javamail/javadocs/com/sun/mail/smtp/package-summary.html">com.sun.mail.smtp (JavaMail API documentation)</a>.
    Everything together becomes
    Properties props = new Properties();
    props.put("mail.smtp.auth", "true");
    props.put("mail.smtp.host", "mail.exchange.com");
    Session session = Session.getInstance(props, new MyAuthenticator());
    BTW, does the <i>AuthenticationFailedException</i> contain any additional information that indicates why authentication failed?
    Just note that JavaMail supports <i>SMTP Authentication (RFC 2554) using the LOGIN, PLAIN, and DIGEST-MD5 mechanisms [...] When using DIGEST-MD5 authentication, you'll also need to supply an appropriate realm; your mail server administrator can supply this information. You can set this using the mail.smtp.sasl.realm property, [...]</i>.
    So only LOGIN, PLAIN and DIGEST-MD5 are supported. It's very well possible your Exchange server is configured to support only NTLM and I can imagine your Exchange admin won't allow LOGIN authentication due to security reasons.
    And a last remark. <i>If your username is foo, your mailbox name is Foo.Bar and your server is FUBAR, your username for connecting to your mailbox is not foo. Instead, it would be FUBAR\foo\Foo.Bar</i>.
    Kind regards,
    Sigiswald

  • Problems in triggering webdynpro application from Workflow using SWFVISU

    Hi everybody,
    We have created a webdynpro application which we are linking to our task using transaction SWFVISU .
    The method for the task is WEBSERVICE-DISPLAY.
    SWFVISU has been configured with parameters :
    application name : ZXXXXXXXXXXXXX
    and namespace  : sap.
    When i create a workitem in the UWL , and click on it, i get a dump with the following description : 'Exception condition "URL_CREATION_FAILURE" raised.'
    Now the strange thing is that if i use a standard SAP Webdynpro application , this works properly.
    Could anybody advise us on whether we are missing something ?
    Thanks,
    Joe

    Hi Raja,
    Thank you for your reply.
    I tried changing the method but it still throws the same error. i dont think this error is related to the Task method , since it can also be a dummy method (as is the case with the leave approval workflow 12300111) .
    Any other helpful suggestions ??
    Thanks,

  • WebDynpro Application issue consuming asynchronous webservice from SAP PI

    Hello experts i ask you for help thie following issue:
    i am developing a webdynpro application which is supposed to
    send some data from inputfields, and a file, in order to achieve it, that dynpro application is consuming an asyncrhronous webservice , this service is running in SAP Process integration .it uses only a component.
    Iam having serious problems at mapping the asynchronous PI web service model -->to -->controller >and then to->view
    since when i deploy the application into the  SAP portal´s application server, it runs , but  inputfields cannot be written.i dont mean unabled, what i mean, is. cannot write anything on them.ECXEPT the file upload UI element.
    I have reviewed sap help page, 3 sappress books, about dynpro, and the procedure i am performind is agree with them.
    endpoint test answers the folloiwng:
    Message Servlet is in Status OK
    Status information:
    Servlet com.sap.aii.af.mp.soap.web.MessageServlet (Version $Id: //tc/xi/NW04S_20_REL/src/_adapters/_soap/java/com/sap/aii/af/mp/soap/web/MessageServlet.java#1 $) bound to /MessageServlet

    ModuleProcessorClass not instantiated
    ModuleProcessorLocal is Instance of com.sap.aii.af.mp.processor.ModuleProcessorLocalLocalObjectImpl0_0
    ModuleProcessorRemote not instantiated
    what i did is the same as before(in another projects weh i used to import rfc models):
    1.- import webservice model,and add it to component
    2.-map web service model to controller context
    3.-map controller´s context to view context
    4.-create actions and methods
    5.-binding context controller to ui elements
    Dear experts, my questions are:
    What am i doing wrong?
    should i permorm another steps because the web service is in another application server (SAP PI)?
    Should i create a stand alone proxy and then access it from webdynpro?
    when i call the web service model excution it seems does not run, neverthless the invocation does not have any syntax error , what coul it be?
    Thanx in advance!!

    just for the sake of other who may hit this thread , the solution is to add sap-client=<clientno> in the url for wsdl

  • Is Adobe reader 8 or higher supported in webdynpro applications

    Hi,
    We have developed a webdynpro application which opens up a Adobe form for the user. The problem is for a user who is uisng IE 7 and adobe version 8 or higher, when he runs the application the adobe form does not open up he has a small 'X' sign coming up instead.
    Please let me know which version of adobe and IE are compatible for adobe forms embedded in webdynpro ABAP
    Thanks.

    Hi,
    The problem could be your form's layout type. I think its xACF if its WD ABAP or ActiveX if WD Java. So try your layout type to be changed as Native in WD Java or if you are using WD ABAP then as ZCI. I think it will work.

  • Webdynpro application not functioning from Apache Reverse Proxy

    Hi Experts,
    We are currently working on custom webdynpro application, which needs to be exposed to Internet. We are using Apache HTTP Server as a reverse proxy.
    We canable to access URL, but no images are getting displayed and also the application not functioning when we click any button/links.
    Below is the HTTPD file configuration.
    ProxyPass /esampleApp  http://hostname:port/webdynpro/dispatcher/local/esampUI/ESamplingApp
    ProxyPassReverse /esampleApp  http://hostname:port/webdynpro/dispatcher/local/esampUI/ESamplingApp
    When we look into  image URL, which is being called from Apache, we  found out "webdynpro" is missing in the URL.
    Actual URL in Portal Server: (working)
    http://portalhostname:port/webdynpro/resources/local/esampUI/Components/esampling.ui.ESamplingComp/logo.gif
    Apache URL:
    http://Apachehostname:port/resources/local/esampUI/Components/esampling.ui.ESamplingComp/logo.gif
    Please suggest.
    Thanks
    Aravind

    We also had the same issue, but the problem was that instead of http https was getting called.
    This has to do with 2 settings:
    1. Check the reverse proxy re-write URL's again. Note that there will be 2-3 entries one for webdynpro as well.
    2. Open your system definintion in system admin-sys configuration adn check the WAS settings. this should point to the FQDN of the proxy server and not to the R3 server.

  • Check authrozation problems in WebDynpro

    Hello,
    In SAPGUI there exists a tool for analysing authorization errors (go in a SAPGUI menu to System->Utilities->Display Authorization Checks or start transaction code SU53). The tool display which authorization check has failed and displays the current user setting for the failed authorization object. The tool is important e.g. for system adminstrators in order to quickly analyse authroization problems.
    In WebDynpro screens I didn't find that functionality. How would I analyse authorization problems for WebDynpro applications?
    Best regards,
    Matthias

    Hello, Matthias,
    I believe that when you have and AUTHORITY-CHECK within your WDA component, if this check is not successful, it will generate an entry on t-code SU53.
    If you need to display in your wda component the same information SU53 displays, I believe you'll need to develop it, because I think there's no such tool in WDA.

  • SSO b/w portal and webdynpro application customized login??

    Hi,
    I  have one webdynpro application which has a login screen (Created as Webdynpro view). If user enters user/passord, the same gets checked from a custom table in the db (Method for checking user credtentials has been written in view controller). if user credentials are correct it performs some actions defined in webdynpro application.
    I want to configure SSO b/w portal and this webdynpro application sothat when user logon to the portal and open this webdypro application, Login page of webdynpro application should not be shown i.e user credentials should be passed from portal and corresponding authentication method in webdynpro should be called to authenticate the user.
    How to do the same without touching webdypro application ?
    Can we call a method of webdynpro application from portal?
    Regards
    Deepak

    1) To enable ticket authentication for the web dynpro iviews, you must maintain the definition of the system running the Web Dynpro application and set logon method to "SAPLOG"
    2)Since you have customized login screen, you need to bypass this screen manually when you login from portal.
    Add parameter to the application while defining the iview.Give some constant value.
    Check value of this parameter in webdynpro and fire to next view.

    I already set the value for jbo.server.internal_connection and then deployed to Weblogic Server. When I was tested the application, all the records from table had shown on the screen but I found the application can't insert row to table PS_TXN. I I want to know it always happened?
    Herewith I attach the detail log from log file which was generated by Weblogic Server:

  • View custom payslip using the standard webdynpro application in ESS

    Dear All,
    We want to display a custom developed payslip in the Salary Statement webdynpro application in the ESS. Our Custom Payslip gets called from a custom program. Can anyone please let us know how to call this program from the standard webdynpro salary statement appplication.
    With Regards,
    Kaustuv Goswami.

    Hello,
    What you have to do is create an iview for Webdynpro Application which you deployed on the portal ....add it to the workset and the role ....then copy the PCD Location of it and then goto the ECC SPRO -> Cross Application Components -> Home Page Framework -> create a new Resource and specify the PCD Location in the URL of the PCD Column of it ...then create a Service ...assign the resorce created for it ...and then finally add the Service to the SubArea you want and it will show in the portal under that SubArea like Personaol Information or others....
    Hope it helps.
