Im New to BW Projects . My ambition is to learn BW-BPS . So can anyone tell me , when i need to start learning BPS.
Im Certified BW Consultant(3.0b). Im planning to write Delta Exam . So can any one send me the Siemens PDF file of Delta Exam (SAP-BW 3.5 Delta) to [email protected]

SEM-BPS Exam

I am planning to write to certification BW 3.5Version.I dont have any idea regarding SEM-BPS.
1.How many question can I expect from that topic?(Approximately)
2.Can I overcome the exam without knowledge of SEM-BPS.
3.I am planning to take the exam on 27th of september 2007.Is it enough time to prepare for exam(without having knowledge in SEM-BPS).If not How much time is preferable to take exam.

U definitely have enough time
1) 10-19% out of 80 questions.
2) Remeber, you need to score 70%+ to be certified. If you are very confident about the rest of the section, you can. (I wont do that)
3) BPS (TBW45) is a 5 day course with SAP education. Thats enough time for a normal person to do it.

BPS is currently very well documented on SAP's help website which is entirely free and does not require a login or anything of that kind. I highly recommend taking a look at this when you get an opportunity to do so.

Look under the Business Planning tab and right below the information about Integrated Planning there is a ton of information on BW-BPS.

How to select several values from a user exit variable in a planning folder

Hello,
I have created a user exit variable for limiting the values only to which the user need to access.
For a simulation part, it is then necessary for him to select several values from these values (not only one, and not all)
But It seems in this case the user has only two possibilities :
- keep all the values without any restriction
- restrain the selection to only one value.
It seems possible for the user to access to a multiple choice window, but this possibility doesn't seems to work : in all tests we did, only the first value was taken into account by BPS.
If this method is not good do you know an other manner to permit the user to choice several values amongst a set of pre-selected (because the original set is too important) values ?

It seems BPS offers the possibility to the user to select several values amongts the pre-selected values presented by the user exit variable, but it doesn't work. We can use a popup in which we enters the required values, but in final, only the first value is taken into account.
I don't know if it is due to a BPS bug or if it is not a good solution in regard to BPS philosophy. In this case, the concerned caracteristic isn't in the header but in lead columns.
I must present a solution to my client next monday, so I have not enough time to open an OSS message.
An alternate solution should be interesting too.
My need is to present to a user a selection of values amongst all values from an infoobject (the user exit variable seemed to be a good solution) and the user must have the possibility to select some values amongst these as filter.

Oracle 11g B2B commandline utilities to manage trading partners, agreements

Hi,
I am working on Oracle 11g b2b server configured with ebMS messaging protocol. My host trading partner is having more number of remote trading partners and hence more agreements. I am exploring the possible means of automating the creation and deployment of trading partners, creation and deployment of agreements and updating some of the trading partners configuration through commanline utilities. Are there any commandline utilities available to do these activities as a self-service in Oracle 11g b2b server? I couldn't find the details in b2b user guide document. Hence I need help to identify this facility.

In section 18 - B2B Command Line Tools, of Oracle B2B 11g user guide, it is mentioned that -
Self-service APIs are not available in this release.and as far as I know these API's are still not released. Please contact Oracle Support to get formal confirmation about the date when it may be released. You may also ask for any workaround available.

In 11g, all the commandline utilities are listed in single ant script, which is located at $SOA_HOME/bin/ant-b2b-util.xml file.

Hi,
You can use BPS and Implement IP parallely so you can use both the tools simultaniously.
Even all the BPS variables can be used in IP.
Need to build all the data flow from the scratch.
Need to understand what stands for what comparing BPS and IP.
Instead of Function Module based on ABAP in BPS we have Function Types based on ABAP OO concept.

We have manual layouts to input data in bps. planning functions are used to modify or calculate results from the entered or already available data in the cube.

    After this i tried to create planning layout from planning level but its giving message ' select a node in the related tree '.

after this i tried to create planning layout and planning function but iam unable to do that.

Please select the planning level you created by clicking over it. then you are able to create a function in the area below. remember that a function belongs to a planning level.

Would you like to clarify this pl.. ?? It's regarding master data in BPS .

Dear All,
I got some problem in planning layout,
Now every user can entry any values to e.g. Info Object A. In other hand, i have already setup the value in the 'master data text' for Info Object A.
I think before, the user only capable to entry the value entried in that 'master data text', but the fact now, the user can entry any value beyond the values written in 'master data text'.
But ..
It will be different, if i check the mark 'with master data', user can't entry incorrect value.
My questions are..
1. Is it okay to change the IO become 'with master data' ?? Will it have neg. impact to the FOX / Exit Function / Other ?? (Because i've already made for all planning functions ??
2. Is there another techniques that user can't entry any value instead user only capable to entry the value written in the master data text ???
3. Would it be okay if i check 'with master data' but i don't have any attribute object there ??
Really need ur obvious explanation / sharing..

Questions on BPS BAPI calls and PDF forms

I will need to create a button on a BPS form and that button is supposed to call a BAPI. One of the buttons will create a PDF of the form (using the contents of the form) and print said form to a 'default' printer. The issue is that not all cFolder users will have an ECC logon name. What am I to do in this instance? Will I need to pass some type of credentials to the ECC backend in order to run this BAPI?
Also, how can I get the contents of the form(s) to the BAPI? I assume that I will need to create the PDF in the code of the BAPI. Please be patient with me as this is my first time to work with cFolders and/or BPS.

Well, if you are able to log on the BPS application (thus, a Web Interface if I'm not mistaken) then it means that some user is logged on the ABAP-side. It is either a "personal" user or a technical (common) user, that is used for anonymous access.
You will certainly be able to track down this user with the SM04 transaction.
You should be able to add a button to the BPS page. One idea would be to call an URL with an ICF service behind that will be able to process the parameters contained in this URL.
It will be this very ICF service that will call the BAPI.

CRM fields not populating in BPS layout for opportunity Planning 0crm_order

Hello Support,
We are using SAP CRM 5.0 SP09 with BW 7.0 SP 09.
When creating an opportunity in CRM, the product data ( quantity ,
values) are not appearing in Planning tab( SEM-BPS Layout) .
Kindly let us know what needs to be done to resolve this issue.

In your CRM system, check your mapping from CRM to BW are correct.
You can do this in transaction SPRO. Menu path 'SAP Implementation Guide --> Integration with other mySAP components --> SEM --> Change mapping between CRM fields and InfoObjects'. Select planning application 'OPP' and click on 'Mapping table - system entries' on the left.
In here you should see the mapping from the InfoObject to the CRM field (eg. Infoobject 0CRM_EXPREV uses structure CRM_BW_OPPT_H and field name EXP_REVENUE).
In order for the value to be passed to planning you must tick the 'Empty' checkbox on.
