Regarding work center master creation In PP

Hi Iam Kiran working on routings and work centers creation.I want to know how the formulaes are derived for caluculating capacities,shedulling,Costing.where can I find study material regarding formulae derivation.For the above mentioned.Please respond if your having any material with respect to this content.

Hi Kiran,
Please use the following transaction to create/check the parameters & formulas,
OP17 - Create formula parameter
OP19 - Maintain standard value key. (The parameters created are entered in this standard value key & this std value key is used in the work center (CR03) basic data tab page)
OP21 - Create Formulas
These formulas are assigned in the capacity, scheduling & costing tab page in the workcenter.
This workcenter is assigned to an operation in the routing (CA03).

Standard IDOC for WORK CENTER Master

Hi,
Please suggest the standard IDOC for work center master.
I have tried PWKC.Got DUMP when executed.
Tried on SAP-Market place for help.Suggested not to use PWLC.
Please suggest alternative.

Regarding Work center

Hi gurus,
Presently I am working for a Engineering and Construction Project, I am new to Project systems. In this project client have one Fabrication unit and 20 Projects across the India. In project site also they are doing some production activities. How to create a work center in this aspect( There is no planned activities as of my knowledge)

you are saying workcenter needed for Fabrication unit,
As per my experiance in Fabrication unit it mainly consist of all types of welding(manuval, MIG, TIG etc) , and also bending and ctting of rods with (power saw, band saw etc).
find out one suitable Activity unit for welding with time, Power consumption etc

One can maintain any no of Capacity Categories in the work center, provided that you have actually defined/maintained
that no of Capacity categories in customizing.
So while creating work center you can have capacity categories like machine, person, processing unit, lab etc. as per requirements.

Regarding work center hierarchy

Hi all,
I have 2 work centers liked to a superior work center in a hirarchy.
Is it possible to do capacity planning at the superior work center level.
The scenario is like this - I will get planned order at a superior work center level. I will convert the planned order into 2 production orders with child work centers in respective order.
Now I want that, when I see the capacity overview for the superior work center, it should be full. That means I want to link the capacities of the child work centers to the parent work center.
Please let me know if it is possible ?

Hi,
Work center hierarchies are used in capacity planning to cumulate available capacity and capacity requirements. You can cumulate available capacities from subordinate work centers to a superior work center level in order to determine the total available capacity for the superior work center.
In your situation, I think you need to create two planned orders with the two work centers and after this you will be able to see the capacity requirements cumulated at the superior WC.

Regarding work center configuration.

Hi PP Gurus,
We need to take an account to Rated Line Speed (Bottles per minute) (i.e. It should be the current capacity of the bottling line operating at the full rated speed, irrespective of the bottling format).
We're using Discrete Manufacturing scenario and work center (CR01). How could it be taken into account.
Is there any alternte way to put an additional fiueld in work center create (CR01)/work center change (CR02) transaction code?

hi,
What I mentioned is , create a reference operation set of one operation with that particular work center and maintain operation times as the speed of that line ( 100 bottles for minute should be entered as base qty as 100 and time as 1 min). Call this reference operation set in any routings that uses this line.
If you do this, you don't need additional field in work center and so don't get confused with it.

There are two options:
1. Change the workcentre in Routing and do Read PP master data which will pick up the current Workcentre (Provided no Goods Movements are carried out on order). The status of the order will be changed from REL to CRTD.
2. Manually change the Workcentre in Order.

PM Order - Change operations Work Center to Main Work Center

Hi Experts,
We have prepared a tool for client, which create Maintenance Plan and order in the background.
The order created is having "Main Work Center" defined at header and "Work Center" at the operations level. In the current scenario the "Main Work Center" and "Work Center" are different say 'ABC' & u2018XYZu2019.
Client has the requirement that work center maintained at operations should be same as the main work center.
We need to implement the solution to take care of work center to be same as main work center while creation of the order in the background.
Has anyone worked on the similar requirement before?
I checked for existing USER EXITS for IW31/32/33 and found only one IWO10012. This doesnu2019t seem to be much useful.
Please suggest any possible solution.

Hi,
The work Center entered by default comes in operation work center, u can do validations while saving the Order :-using user exit : IWO10009 PM Order: Customer Check for 'Save' Event.

Mandatory field in cost center master

Hi,
In a particular cost center master data(which was created earlier), business area is a mandatory field. It is critical to remove this mandatory option which has defaulted automatically. Entering a business area in the cost center master data is ruled out now. Also, deletion of the cost center is not possible as transaction data already exists.
Please advise how to remove this mandatory indicator in the cost center master data as the system is not allowing to post any actual posting.

Hi,
Check if the global parameters for your company has "Indicator: Business area financial statements required" on. This will affect also cost center master creation. Transaction Code: OBY6.
Please discuss with financial members before you change it.

LSMW for Work center text

Hi Experts,
Im developing LSMW to upload the Work center text(TCode CA10).
I did tried on Direct input -> program /SAPDMC/SAP_LSMW_IMPORT_TEXTS in LSMW. The uploading process was done successfully but it can not be used in Master Recipe assignment(TCode C202). Reason due to the direct input program doesn't has Work center short text. FYI, the Work center short text is entered during the Work center text creation via CA10 first screen.
And i did tried on CA10 manually, work center text only can be used in TCode C202 when it is created with short text key in at CA10 first screen. While for the Work center text that created without short text key in, system will prompt error when i try to assign the Work center text into C202.
Thus, i may need you advice. In LSMW other that direct input,is there any BAPI or IDOC available for the Work center text upload?

It is being trigger online, whereby i need to key in the text manually.
Since my requirement is mass upload, hence that is impossible for me to execute the FM to key in the text manually.
Do you know there is any other FM/BAPI/IDOC that can perform the Work center Short and Long text in background mode?
