Region position 2 with 2 parts.

My pages are made like this :
Menu region in region position 01
Body pages in region position 02
Now, in the body pages : there is some pages in witch the content ca be organized in two parts (in each part I can have a report).
I know that I can not have a region within another region...
How can I manage this type of pages/regions.

Use 2 or more regions in Display Point Region Position 02, with different region templates as necessary to display titles, buttons etc.
e.g. Region with items at sequence 10; region with report at sequence 20, using region template Region without Title or No Region so it appears seamless with the first region.

How to popup a page from a button not in a region position

Hello.
I am using Apex 2.2.1. I have a form (not a report) on which I've placed a button that is positioned "among the items" as opposed to being placed in a specific region position.
When the button is clicked I would like to have another page popup. The problem is that I can get this to work only if the button is placed in a region position. With the button in a region position, I define the target to be a URL and then place a call to the popUp2 function, as in:
javascript:popUp2('f?p=&APP_ID.:32:&SESSION.::NO:::', 900, 700);
This works fine.
However, I need to position my button on the immediate right hand side of a form item. But when I create a button in such a position, I have no field in which to place the call to the popUp2() function. Instead, I have to create a "Branch to Page or URL" and then place my javascript call in the Branch field. Unfortunately, when I click the button, Apex wants to branch to page zero instead of the desired page. I saw that when I move the mouse over the button, Apex shows:
javascript: doSubmit('MY_BUTTON_REQUEST');
And, as mentioned, Apex tries to branch to page zero.
How does one call the popUp2() function from a button that is not placed in a region position?

Hi Elie,
I had the same problem ... I only got it solved with creating a hidden item and adding the input-tag into the "Post Element Text" field.
Just have a look in the source code of your page, how a button is build and copy the necesaary code to the mentioned field. So you get a button with ApEx layout and can add your javascript call.

Need some help with region position

I need som help with regions position....
Background:
I have 2 regions, I will call them reg1, reg2 and reg3.
reg1 = Page Template Body (2. items below region content), column 1, search region.
reg2 = Page Template Body (2. items below region content), column 2, import file region.
reg3 = Page Template Body (3. items above region content), column 1, search result, grid region, very wide.
Issue with the position, the setup explained makes my layout like this
reg1--------------------------------reg2
------------------reg3--------------------
What I want:
reg1-reg2
------------------reg3--------------------
What am I doing wrong?

Replacing Macbook Pro parts with Macbook parts...........???

I have a MacBook pro that has recently bit the dust and is out of warranty. I'm 99% positive it is a combination of the hard drive and the logic board failing. I have a new MacBook that I hardly ever use and I am wondering if I can replace the faulty parts in my MacBook pro with the parts from my working MacBook.
I know replacing the hard drive on my mbp with the hard drive
from my mb will work just fine... But here's my longshot question.. Can I replace the logic board in my mbp with the logic board from my mb? Are they interchangable?
If not, will my mb accept the ram from my mbp? I may just throw my 2 GB RAM from my mbp into my mb to tide me over until the new mbp comes out/I can afford it.

Well i'm not too sure about the logic board, but i do know that the ram in your macbook pro will work in your macbook.

Region Position 3

Hi,
I have a report in the region position 3 of the page, the problem when I use this position is some columns of the report become smaller like employee name become
Employee
Name
and most of the names become in 2 different rows (first name, last name).
Hope if any one know how to fix this.

This problem appear only with region position 3, the report in the other positions display fine. I have already tried other templates but the result is always the same.
My page contain the following
in position (Page Template Body 1) I have:
1- A navigation list in the column (1). This appear on the left side of the page. LOOKS FINE
2- HTML region and report region BOTH in the column 2. They appear to the right of navigation list. They LOOK FINE.
The problem in the last report region, I wanna it to appear on the right side of the page, so I put it in region position 3. I can put it in the same position with the other regions and use column3 for it BUT it appear so close to middle regions.
I hope this can explain the problem

Positive experiences with command validate

I killed a load process on Unix and got the error A write to file [data/essbase/app/PPU_FK/Ppu_Fk/ess00001.pag], from address [0x403bf4a8] with handle [19] to offset [1130184704] for [16384] bytes, failed with error [1130614] and system error [nnnnnnnnn] after [27] bytes.I tried to save something and issued the command validate in ESSCMD.Did you make any positive experiences with it? What controls breadcrumb region position?

I took Theme 16 (Dark Blue) and did some small customizations to modify templates and remove those I never use and update some of the CSS classes used. Since doing that, anytime I create a new page using this theme that includes a breadcrumb region, it does not correctly put it in Region 1. If I look at the builder, it actually says Region Postion (with a blank where it should have the value like 1). I have to then open the breadcrumb region and manually change it to Region Position 1.
Where is the setting to default the region? Its not a huge deal to change it every time to the correct region but was curious how this is set? I can throw up a screenshot if necessary to show what I mean.

Thanks - I took a look and found a Display Points Box and it has Page Template Region Position 1 as the Breadcrumb display point and this in the body of the template:

Whats strange is that if I create a new page and choose to create a breadcrumb through the wizard it can't find the correct region position to put it in. If I choose No breadcrumb and then manually create a breadcrumb region, it not only defaults to the correct region but actually appears in the breadcrumb region.

Delete data from DSO only with a part of the key

Hi experts,
I have a DSO with 9 key fields and i want to delete some entrys. Our source system only provides 2 fields of the key. My problem is, that the BI is not able to delete from DSO unless I have the full key.
Now I want to get the rest of the key fields from the active table of the DSO. Can sombody help me please with the ABAP Code? Or is there another possibility?

Ralf,
the thread pointed out by you is for passing deletion entries to the DSO / target using the deletion entries .. namely recordmode = D.
Are you looking at deleting data from the DSO as a one time activity or you want to handle the same using a start / end routine ...? and pass deletion entries to other data targets which get the data from this DSO ?

Hi Suri - Thanks for your response. I tried both with blank(individual and collective) and 2 (collective req. only) but I still get the same result. I found one other setting that can solve this issue and that is checking the activate full confirmation logic at the the MRP group level in OPPR. I will test more and let you know if that works but we dont use MRP groups here at our client and that is why I was little hesistant to set up collective availability check parameters at the MRP group level. But looks like this is the only option that we can use to get this resolved.

My positive experience with FCPX.

In an effort to present the other side of the coin on this forum, that FCPX can work very well, here is my story.
For the last 8 years I've been using Final Cut Express on an older Macs. It worked fine for my various projects, although the incessant rendering would be very frustrating. (I never did find the proper format to prevent it.) When Final Cut Pro X was released, I read about it's shortcomings, so I passed.
Five months ago I was planning to video my nephew's wedding so I looked closely at Final Cut Pro X, but was very daunted by how completely different it was from FCE. A few days later I was in my local Apple Store asking their video expert about the rendering in FCE, basically he said to get FCPX, which not only handles many formats, but renders in the background when needed, and has a lot more features than FCE.
I went home and looked at my first FCPX tutorial online and thought, OK, it looks like I'm going to have to start from scratch to learn it. My MacBook Pro was going on 6 years old, so I also decided to buy a new one that could handle FCPX. I had to stay on Snow Leopard OS 10.6.8 for one vitally important application that was not being upgraded, so I went to the Apple refurb site and found a 17" 2.2Ghz i7 late 2011 that fit the bill (I wanted the ExpressCard slot), marked down from $2600 to $1900, I grabbed it.
I immediately installed 16 GB of RAM, and replaced the internal drive with the one in my old laptop, a fairly new Seagate XT Hybrid 750 GB/16 GB HD/SSD. I then bought FCPX. (After completing one small project, I actually replaced the 750 hybrid with an OWC 960 GB dual platter RAID 0 internal SSD, wow, is it fast. I work my current project there, then when complete, move it to the 750 hybrid or a 3 TB I put in a Seagate GoFlex Thunderbolt adapter .)
I have to admit that it took me a couple of days to let go of FCE and get used to the FCPX Events/Projects system, but I got through it. I did look at tutorials, but actually learned far more by exploring the menus, panes and icons, experimenting, trial and error, and reading this forum.
I finished the wedding video (32 minutes long) in about a week (learning as I went). It was shot with one camera, which forced me to do some creative editing by lifting, moving and zooming various pieces (and cutting around a very oblivious professional photographer), which gave me a multi-camera look. I added a title, transitions, adjusted dark scenes, leveled the audio in many places, diminished airplane and wind noise, and dropped in a sound effect of my nephew breaking a glass under foot (which did not actually break at the time).
I shared the wedding video to my AppleTV2, and to DVD (3 copies), and to YouTube, without any overt problems. Yes, each operation had it's learning curve, but I accomplished them all in a rather short time. The first time I uploaded it to YouTube, it took about 8 hours for a 1080 2.8 GB version, but when it was done, the YouTube site had a message that it was too long, I had to register to have longer than 15 minute videos. I then used FCPX to upload a 720 version (the actual original format), 985MB, which took about 2 hours (even with a 1 mbps upload internet service). It looks great via the YouTube app on my AppleTV2.
The only overt problem I have is a crash once in awhile either at launch or very shortly after, but I delete the prefs and continue on. I also installed some free plugins that seemed to cause some crashing, so I removed them, but the next time I opened the wedding project, I had all kinds of warning triangles. Turned out I used some of the plugins and FCPX warned that they were missing. It took a few minutes of searching this forum to learn how to get rid of those effects, I didn't even have to ask anyone.
I just bought two new 1080p AVCHD video cameras and really look forward to using them for a festival on Sunday where I'm playing with a ukulele orchestra (which I also took up a few months ago). I'm going to tackle the multicam operations with that project (something I did in my own way with FCE, even though it did not actually have that function).
My view of many of the posts on this forum is that either they have a system/hardware problem outside of FCPX, or they do not make enough of an effort to learn and understand FCPX. It takes diligence and patience, which in my experience, really does pay off. I used to dread doing tweaks in FCE, now I look forward to it in FCPX.

I'd just like to add my positive-ness with FCPX! I've used it from 10.0.1 and, since 0.3, I have loved it and raved about it when anyone asks. The multicam feature is amazing! I used to use Vegas MS for some casual editing and the biggest annoyance with FCPX at the start was the magnetic timeline but after a day or so I got used to it and now can't imagine using anything else. I've had the odd crash but they are few and far between. I won't say I haven't sworn at it a few times but the fault is usually mine in the end!
I use an upgraded 2012 MacBook Pro with 16GB memory and a Seagate Hybrid XT disc for my more "beefy" projects but I've found my 2011 MacBook Air works great with smaller projects (4GB RAM and 256GB SSD). Interesting article on fcp.co about MBAs and FCPX if anyone is considering purchasing one.
I tend to learn things as I go along; I know what I want to achieve and then work out how to get there, often with the help of the nice people in this forum . With FCPX, once you understand the basic structure it's not too difficult.
It seems one of the common themes is problems with importing AVCHD / MTS files. Since 0.3 I've never had any problems as long as I follow my basic rules -
Format the SD card in the camera just before use (use "low level" if offered for the first format) and shoot your footage. Use the same quality format on that card throughout the shoot.
Remove the card and plug it into the computer's card reader. Do NOT interfere with or modify the files in Finder in any way!
In FCPX create an archive from the card on a separate external disc. (If the card doesn't show up then try another card reader - there can be differences in USB chipset implementations).
Import to the events from the archive. Once done, repeat from 1.

If you are having issues deleting a specific message from an iMessage conversation (not seeing the Trash icon), you may want to double-check that you are following the steps outlined in the following article:
How do I delete a message?
To delete a message, tap and hold the message bubble, then tap More.
Tap Delete All to delete all the messages. Or tap to select the messages you want to delete, then tap .
After you delete a message, you can recover it only by restoring from a backup.

InContext editing error: This region contains content with dynamic behavior added..

We just set up a web site with InContext editing following the procedures in Business Catalyst documentation to do that. But now when we go to the administration section of the site, and turn on InContext editing, it won't let us update the text. We receive an error message:
"This region contains content with dynamic behavior added..."
Does anyone know what causes this problem, and how to fix it?

InContext Editable (ICE) regions can only contains static areas like text and static assets, it cannot wrap around javascript – populated areas or dynamic content like slideshows. (most likely causing the error)
ICE can edit only static page content such as regular HTML content. It cannot edit any element that is dynamically updated for example a div (or another element) which is manipulated (created or its contents are modified) by JS– populated areas or dynamic content like slideshows. It cannot edit menus, content holders or content outputted by system modules or tags either.
By default, on a page that has no ICE editable regions defined the editor attempts to find any regions you might want to edit and if possible make them editable. If it does not find the correct regions you want to edit you will need to explicitly define some editable regions.

I have had the same problem in Oracle BPM and solved it using the following steps:
1- In your application navigator window, expand the project that contains the business rule.
2- In the SOA Content, double click on your wsdl file.
3- When the file opens, select the schema view from the bottom of the page.
4- In the schema view, expand all the schema nodes and check if you see any values in red. If you see one, that value has probably caused the error and you should correct it using the property inspector window.
In my case, the schema location value was set to a wrong path, so I changed it and the error resolved.
Also, some error that appear as warning in the rule editor will show as compile error later, such as input types not being used and such, so those must be resolved before compiling.

Subcontracting with discontinued parts

We use discontinuations all the time but now we are fully subcontracting some products and the discontinuation is not being planned for either the old part or the new part. SAP help clearly says that subreq discontinuation is not planned but with several parts at any one time on boms of over 200 parts, we just can't manually manage this.
I don't believe we are the only one with this problem but I am unable to find any solution - please help!

We have 12+ weeks lead times and constantly changing forecasts. The discontinuation worked very well in managing the old part down to zero stock with all the variables involved but safety stock is a fixed figure?

PDF with movable parts.

I'm trying to create a PDF file with movable parts. I'm doing a research project where participants will try to match wallpaper to a specific room. I would like to have a PDF file that has wallpaper squares that can move around a hallway in another layer. Is it possible to do?

Possibly with either OCG (Optional Content Groups) or via a 3D PDF file. Depends on what you mean by the term "movable parts". Do you mean make them invisible? Do you mean actually make them move via JavaScript animation? If it is the former then that is OCG. If it is the later then that is 3D PDF. OCG is not a simple thing to do even with Acrobat. 3D PDF is also in the same realm of difficulty and perhaps more difficult because it means you need to have other software that can create specific 3D files that then can be imported into Acrobat or a third party software company's software called tetra4D ( http://www.tetra4d.com/ )
