Relationship between logical system and a client

Hi,
Our internal notes say that, in order to create a new client, I must do the following:
1. Create a logical system using BD54. The client name must be SID + "CLNT" + number. In my case, this would be NSPCLNT100.
2. Create a client using SCC4.
Questions:
1. What is the relationship between the client and the logical system?
2. How does SAP know that client number 100 must be related to NSPCLNT100? I am not specifying this relationship anywhere.
Thank you in advance for your help.
Regards,
Peter

  • Logical system and rfc destination

    hello all,
what is the difference between logical system and RFC destination?
thanks for ur help in advance.
    regards,
    vikas

    Hi,
In any ALE scenario u need one sender and one receiver system.
Logical systems are just logical representation of these systems but in case of RFC destination u specify technical parameters for those systems like IP address and username and password to connect to that system.
Thus when u create port i.e.we21 u specify actual RFC destination for the system to which u want to connect and when u create partner profile for that logical system u specify this port so when u want to send data to this logical system i.e receiver system port will be used which in turn has RFC destination which will be used to connect to that system.
In simple terms logical systems are logical representation of any system and RFC destinations are physical/techinical systems.

  • Logical system and business system

Hi experts, please help me with the below questions---
    1) What is the diff between logical system and business system?
2)what is the difference between logical system(defined in R/3) and business system (defined in SLD) in idoc to file scenario.
    3) Is it require to give the logical system name of the xi server(Which we define in idx1 port) to the 3rd party system(Application system at the FTP side) to carry out file to idoc scerario?

    Hi,
    Business System :
    1. Business systems are logical systems, which function as senders or receivers within XI. Business systems can be SAP systems or third-party systems. Depending on the associated technical system.
    2. Business Systems should be mandatory used when dealing with Idoc's and Proxies .
    Business Service:
    1. Business Service requires manual adding on Inbound and Outbound Interfaces, Business Systems do not.
    2. Business Services are maintained across environments and so, their names cannot be changed. Business Systems names can be changed across environments by providing SLD level transport targets.
3.In the Business Services we cannot maintain the Group and Targets in SLD. For Ease in transporting your ID/Configuration objects Groups and Targets are used in SLD for Business Systems.
4.Business Service has no SLD Entries and No Assigned Products and SWCV's

  • PS-Relationship between the system status in wbs elements and activities.

Relationship between the system status in wbs elements and activities.
We have the following requeriment with the system status in PS. We have a project with complete technically status and we want to undo the complete technically status in one activity without changing the complete technically status in the WBS element or the project.
The reason is that after putting the complete technically status, users have to change the values in the P.O. We don´t want "open" all the project and we only need to "open" the activity where the P.O. are in.
Is that possible? How is connected the system status between activities, wbs elements and the project son I can change the status in the below step without changing the higher steps?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Bala
Yes, you have put it rather correctly.
We use WBS elements for booking and posting time (client requirement). So what I am looking for is WBS Elements with the system status TERL (Time and Expense Released).
I talked of the deletion flag also, because a WBS element flagged for deletion can't be used. It's one of the criteria to screen the WBS elements.
    I hope it's clearer now.
    Vinitha.

  • What's different between busniess system and technical system in SLD?

I can enter product(ect.ERP r/3) , components(ect.FI-CO module) to technical system , then enter technical system to busniess system  but ,who can explain  what's different between busniess system and technical system in SLD, exactly?
    THANKS!

Technical Systems are of following types:
Technical systems are application systems that are installed in your system landscape. An example of an application system is a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) server. In the SLD, there are five types of technical systems:
    1.)WEBas java,
    2.)Standalone JAVA
    3.)Third party
    4.)Web as ABAP
    1) Web AS Java
Web AS Java systems consist of one or more instances and each instance is installed on a separate host. An instance itself consists of cluster nodes that can communicate with each other.
    2.)Standalone Java
Standalone Java technical systems are standalone Java applications that are installed in a computer system from an administration perspective. They can also be installed as an operating system service or as a daemon
Web AS java belongs to the NetWeaver Comes with both ABAP and Java, Standalone instread comes separate from the netWeaver.
    3) Third party technical sytem
It can be any of the technical sytem. let us say if you want to send a file to R/3, here the file reside in your local system. for that you can define your local system as a third party technical system.
All those machines that comes under non sap, belongs to the third party.
4.) Web AS ABAP technical systems, ranging from any SAP system to an APO server or CRM server, are based on the same Basis Component (BC), which includes the ABAP interpreter, ABAP Dictionary, ABAP Workbench, and so on. A dedicated database, which stores most of the data of the BC and the application components, is associated with the system.

Business systems are logical systems, which function as senders or receivers within XI. Business systems can be SAP systems or third-party systems.
Depending on the associated technical system, the following types of business systems are defined in the SLD:
    · Web AS ABAP
A business system, which is associated with a Web AS ABAP.
A business system, which is associated with a Web AS ABAP, can play the role either of an application system or an integration server. An integration server is the central component of XI, which provides a framework for the exchange of information among various internal and external entities of a company. The integration server facilitates the interaction between the different operating systems and applications across internal and external networks.
    · Web AS Java
A business system, which is associated with a Web AS Java.
    · Standalone
A business system, which is associated with a standalone Java application.
    · Third-party
A business system, which is associated with a third-party technical system.

  • Logical system and rfc destination related Query?

    Hi Dudes
Do we need to define logical system and RFC destination if they are in different clients in same server
    Regards
    Raj Kumar

    Hi
Both are client independent setting, so even if you define in one client, it would be available in other clients also.

  • How to create the relationship between ESSBASE 11 and DM in OBIEE11

    Hi Experts,
I have one requirement that there is one property table named 'Store Master' in DW,and it contains a lot of attribute, such as Open Date, Close Date, IS 24 Hour etc.
But another data source is essbase and based on this source, I create all reports.
In ESSBASE, it has one dimension and hierarchy Location, and it has four level, Country(L1),Region (L2),Province(L3),Store(L4)
So I want to know how to create the relationship between Location (ESSBASE) and Store Master (DM).
I try to create one relationship in physical layer between Gen4,Location and Store, then drag the open date and close date into Location Dimension in BMM,then Presentation Layer.
When I drag column 'Open Date' ,'Gen4,Location ' and 'Sales' into reports, it will generate the following error message:
State: HY000. Code: 10058. [NQODBC] [SQL_STATE: HY000] [nQSError: 10058] A general error has occurred. [nQSError: 43113] Message returned from OBIS. [nQSError: 43119] Query Failed: [nQSError: 14020] None of the fact tables are compatible with the query request Dim Region.Store Open Date. (HY000)
However, when I remove the column 'Open Date'. it will be ok.
So what I missing the steps? Please help me. Thanks.

    >
'2. Now, pull the 'Store' column from relational DB onto the Gen5, Location column from Essbase. This action now creates, two logical sources for your 'Store' column.'
If the length from different data source is not same, such as 1001(DM),L_1001(ESSBASE), can I drag the 'Store' column from relational DB onto the Gen5, Location column from Essbase?
I think it does not work.Right?Hi,
I am not sure if you are talking about the length(as in varchar(128)) of the member value being different in different sources, or the member itself is different in both the sources.
I am still assuming, that you are referring to the members not same in both the sources. If it is, the whole concept of federation is based on conforming dimensions. So, it needs that the same dimension information is present in both the sources and then only, you know we can analyze the numbers based on this dimension. So, either the dimension being different in both sources, or the members not present in both the dimensions might lead to incorrect numbers.
So I select Store Attributes in relation DB and Location in ESSBASE in physical layer, then create the physical join, such as right("Hour Sales"."H_Sales".""."H_Sales"."Gen6,Location",4) = "Authorization".""."EDW"."T_EDW_MDM_STORE"."US_CODE", then drag the OPEN_DATE and CLOSE_DATE in relation DB to Location in ESSBASE in BMM,finially drag them into presentation layer. We create physical layer relationships, to send over the same relation to the underlying database during querying. So, creating a physical relationship between essbase cube and relation database would not help here.
When you set up this federation, BI Server sends individual queries to each source and maps the conforming dimension members internally.
Hope I was clear, and this helps.
    Thank you,
    Dhar

  • Difference between Business system and Business service.

    Hi All,
Can any one explain in detail difference between Business system and Business service.
As we commonly say, Business service is for those system which are not in our landscape.
Can any one explain in which particular scenarios we will go for Business Service.
    Reg
    Bapuraj

    Hi Bapuraj,
    Business System
Business system is a logical system, and there is an importance on physical existence of the system. Also SLD entry is required.
It is generally used for SAP applications, this is just a general prinicple followed but not mandatory.
    Business Component(formerly Service)
You use a Business Component, when you do not have the System details of the the partner system to which you want to communicate. i.e. you have not configured the partner system in SLD.
Business Service is an Absract Unit with Sender and Receiver Interfaces,In this case you need to explicitly add the message interfaces while doing configuration in ID.
It is generally used for NON-SAP applications, this is just a general prinicple followed but not mandatory.

  • Question the relationship between AR invoice and Outgoing payment

    Dear All,
Does anyone the know the the relationship between AR invoice and Outgoing payment? because I would like to print the report in specific date range. For example, today is 02 July 2009. I want to print "AR invoice as at 31 Mar 2009", by using SQL. It seems like date back.
    From Samson

    Hi Samson,
Even i haven't done much r n d  bout this but what i came to know is that, there might be a scenario where you may want to make a payment to your customer. In this case we can use the Outgoing payment for the same. The system doesnt stop you from doin so. I have seen this in SAP B1 2005B, PL34.

  • The relationship between production order and purchase requistion After running MPS

    Dear Experts:
I met a issue . My users want to know the relationship between production order and purchase requistion . In my company we create production order and  purchase req. by  running MRP. our operations are:
    1. T-CODE: MD41  create planned order .
    2. T-CODE: CO41 convert planned order to production order .
    3. T-CODE: MD15 convert planned order to purchase Requisition.
but I can't  find the  relation of them. would you like to give me some advices? thank you very much.

    Hello
On the standard MTS process there is no link between the requirement (STO) and the replenishment element (production order).
See the below extraction from note 12955:
There is no index that the system could use to determine which issue element (sales order, planning, reservation, dependent requirement, ...) is covered by a certain receipt element (purchase order, production order, purchase requisition, planned order, stock level ...).
A production order, for example, can be created to cover several different requirements, even when you are using lot sizing procedure EX.
You can use transaction MD09 or MD04to determine the pegged requirements, but they are calculated dynamically and there is not fixed link between requirement and receipt.

  • How to Assign Logical System to a Client in SALE Transaction

    Hi ABAP/EDI Specialists,
1How to Assign Logical System to a Client. In the SALE transaction window.
I didn't see any Receiving and Sending Systems(Tree). But I can see Logical Systems. In the Definition and Assign Subtree are there. I created two Logical Systems STUD_S and STUD_R. When I executed Assign Logical Systems. I got a window, Where I can see a list of Clients. I got confused, how to Assign those Two Logical Systems to Client 800 and 810. Finally I double Clicked on each client and in the next window. I changed the Logical System to STUD_S for Client 800 and Logical System STUD_R for client 810. and saved them.
    Is this procedure correct???
Why I need this is, While generating partner profiles in ALE Model (BD64), I am getting no list at all. When I executed I got no list.
"No messages have been defined for the selection conditions in the Model"
I got struck at this point.
Please help me to come out of it.
    Thanks,
    Chinna

    Hi Chinna,
Thanks for such a valuable information. I am able to move further. But i got struck while generating parntner profiles from ALE distribution model.
    Log For Partner Profile Generation:
    Partner:
Partner ZVK_SS_800 as partner has been Created ( Sending System)
Partner ZVK_SS_820 as partner has been Created (Receiving System)
    Port:
    Port Cloud not be Created
RFC destination ZVK_SS_820 not specified for system ZVK_SS_820
Enter the RFC destination and Restart the generation
It is not recognizing the RFC port, even though i followed all the steps correctly.
While creating RFC destination, can someone tell me How to fix the above error and what is the Client No, Username and Pasword i have to give.
    Thanks

  • Assigning logical system to a client in CUA

    Hi All,
I have got a doubt in the basic configuration in the setup of CUA.
I have performed all the steps that is given in the CUA cook book.
In, assiging the logical system to a client, whether this step shoud be done only in the central system alone.
Or the assignment should be done in the child system also.
When i created the all the steps in central system, logical system is created automatically in child system. but in the client assignment i didn't find information. in cookbook also they have do it in all the SAP system.
    kindly advice.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Subhashini.

    >
    > So creating clients in Central system is enough for the child system.
The term you used "Creating Client" is technically wrong in this regard. You already have a client which is in use as Central system - right? You need to maintain the details of Logical system names of all the Child system in Central system to keep the central system updated with the knowledge of type and name of the Child systems it has. This definition can be done by using TCode BD54 which is table maintenance view ( V_TBDLS ) of the table TBDLS.
There is nothing to do or even can be done like Creating Client within a client (here your central system).
    > Since there is noe transfer of user master from child to central system no need to create a client for the logical system.
    >
Its true that there will no transfer of user master from child to central system. But of course the similarly here you are not creating any client within the child system. You are just creating the logical system name (tcode BD54) for this client (child system) and mapping it with the client in tcode SCC4.
Let us know your question. Also as suggested by Barnherd, please go through the SAP Help documentation on CUA. Also try to get an overview of Client in SAP (from SAP Help or SAP course ADM100) and Logical Systems.

    Dipanjan
