Relative positions of repeating frames

Hi,
I have two repeating frames in a report with the page direction of the first set to 'Down/Across'. I want the second repeating frame to print following the first frame(if the first frame ends halfway thro the second column in the page, i want the second frame to start right there). Your ideas are appreciated.

How about anchoring the repeating frames together?

  • How to control the position of b_text - to be under repeating frame

    Hi. Any Guru:
I have a designed paper report layout:
repeating frame (vertical elasticity is variable)
    b_label f_field
    b_text
after report .rdf runs, b_label is not always under repeating frame. I tried anchor and frame and properties but could not solve the problem.
    Thank you for any suggestion!

    Oracle Reports Help said:
"Objects below an object with Page Break Before set to Yes may not move to the next page. If an object is set to print on a page but is moved to the next page because of Page Break Before, other objects may be placed in the space where the object was originally set to print, if there is sufficient room."
My objects of b_label and b_field, which are designed to be UNDER the repeating frame R_G_xxxxxxxx, are randomly displayed either UNDER or INSIDE the repeating frame.
    My repeating frame has properties:
    R_G_xxxxxxxx
    page break before      No
    page break after     No
    page protect      Yes
I was advised that "It can be a trial-and-error to get this to work properly.
What often works is to put the repeating frame and b_label and b_field inside one group frame.
Or put a group frame (whole page width) around b_label and b_field."
I have tried very hard only to fail to get the expected results.
    Anybody has any suggestion?
Just curious - I am using Reports Builder 10.1.2.0.2 and we are going to 11G. Reports Builder 11G will fix this bug or so-called "feature"?
Millions of thank for any help!!!

  • Repeating frame position problem!

    HI!
This is bothering me two days and i can't figure it out.
I have 4 repeaitng frame hierarchly:
    R_frame_1
    R_frame_2
    R_frame_3
    R_frame_4
4 th repeating frame is a problem because on the first page is everything ok
    data1 data2 data3 data4
but on second page where data is continued it goes left out of the paper
    data 3 data4
When on second page repeating frame goes from the begining then is again ok.
    Example
    Page1
    SOME TITLE
    data1 data2 data3 data4
    data1 data2 data3 data4
    Page 2
    data 3 data4 <---- WHY?
    SOME TITLE
    data1 data2 data3 data4
    data1 data2 data3 data4

    Thank a lot dear :)
By the way I have Frame B which is inside Frame A, when I add a new column on B it goes to A. What trick should I do here please.
Maybe I adding is not the proper way? How do I associate a column to which frame does it belong? I can not see it on property pallette.
    Thanks again

  • Repeated Frames at the end of clips

I have a MacBook Pro with the adobe premiere pro cc 14, but I noticed this problem is CS6 also. The problem is this: Say I have two clips in the timeline that are connected (Clip A, Clip B).
If I alter Clip B in anyway (change scale or position, or simply remove it from the timeline) the first frame of Clip B will remain at the end of Clip A. So, when I execute the playback function I can see a quick flash of Clip B at the end of Clip A.
    Here's what I've tried:
I tried rendering the files--didn't work.
I tried simply trimming the repeated frame off--didn't work.
    Here's what did work.
There's a straight line that goes through every clip, I don't know what its called but I think it has something to do with the speed, I would drag that from say 100 to 96.55. The video would have the red render bar above it, and the repeated frame would disappear.
HOWEVER, in my current project  I have serval repeated frames in a blank space where there are video clips, so the previous method can not work.
    What the heck!?!?!
    Thanks

    What are these clip exactly
Please post a screendump in treeview.

  • Repeating Frames

In my report, my query is a 184 column table. Select query is also a 184 column table.
There are Repeating frames in my layout editor, each contains 10 columns. From the 2nd repeating frame onwards, the page break before property is "Yes". Now if, for the 1st repeating frame there is data (10 columns only) Then the rest of the page is blank. All the page break before property is "Yes" How do I avoid these blank pages
    null

If you want a page break between records in the change of group mentioned, set the number of records per page property to 1 (it should currently be zero).
Remember that the page break after property is related to the anchoring object and is not immediately obvious what it is doing. Try setting it back to no.

  • Footer for a report with 2 repeating frames with down/across print directio

I have a report with a frame for title shown in first page. the content of the report is shown on two columns in a repeating frame(R2) which enclose an other repeating frame (R1). In R2, just after R1, I have a frame for totals. Both repeating frame have down/across print direction. All repeating frames and title frame are enclosed by a regular frame(let say frame A) that have vertical elasticity fixed. at the end of the report i must display an other frame(frame B) with signatures. I put frame B in frame A, just after R2. If I set vertical elasticity to fixed or contract for R2, when the title frame is missing i get an empty space in the bottom of the page(except the first page, where the title appear)(R2 is anchored to title frame). if I set vertical elasticity to variable for R2, the frame B is not shown on last page with records, but in next page. I need a solution to keep the frame B in last page of the report which have records. the problem appear only when I have records in second column.
    Can somebody help me, please?

    Hi,
I think without using Across/Down instead of Down/Across this is not possible. But then the output is
    1 2 3 4
    5 6 7 8
    If you need to have
    1 3 5 7
    2 4 6 8
then you had to add some logic in an additional column for sorting the output. (sounds easy, but the logic need some work depending the count of records and their position.

  • Multiple child tables and repeating frames

I have three tables(A,B,and C) where A is the parent of both B, and C. There is no relation between B and C.In the data model, There are three queries, one to each table and I have set up the parent/child relationship in the data diagram.
In the layout Window I have a master repeating frame which breaks on each record for A. And within that master frame I have two constrained repeating frames for both B and C in that order designed to print all on the same page.
The problem is that when there is more data for B, the extra records are not displayed .For overflow conditions, I would want A and C information to be reprinted along the top and bottom of each successive page while the middle section would contine on with the extra B records. (I realize this is similar to having header (A) and footer (B) information in the margin, but it is not quite the same thing since B and C depend on A's repeating frame.)

I'm assuming that all the rows of (C) can always fit onto the page and don't overflow to the next. If so then you'll need the following:
A Group frame "M_A" that completely surrounds (A) fields
A Group frame "M_B" that surrounds (B) and defines the space available for (B) to print
    A Group frame "M_C" that surrounds (C)
Set the properties against each frame:
    M_A:
    Vertical Elasticity: "Variable"
    Print Object On: "All Pages"
    Base Printing On: "Enclosing Object"
    M_B:
    Vertical Elasticty: "Fixed"
(Re-size this frame in the layout to define the space available for (B))
    M_C:
    Vertical Elasticity: "Variable"
    Print Object On: "All Pages"
    Base Printing On: "Enclosing Object"
    You should end up with:
    A.....
    B1....
    B2....
    B3....
    C1....
    C2....
    A.....

  • Repeating frame spacing Problem in Reports 6i

I have a Matrix with Group report. Now I have two sections (one is matrix section, second is Grand totals section).
After I run the report layout ,Matrix section data (repeating frame) is appearing at one spacing but the other repeating frame in Grand Totals - appears in the same page (below the Matrix data section) with different spacing and aligning.
I’ve attached the output of the sample report. You can find the aligning/spacing problem between Matrix data (one repeating frame) and Grand Total data (another repeating frame)
This is the problem, I have tried changing all the properties, but all in vain. I feel that the repeating frame in Grand Totals appears exactly at the same position as the first one.
    Please help...

    Hi,
There are no such limitations with Reports. If I understand properly, you run the Report twice, in each run, you are trying to execute different query, and you generate two dilimited Reports output files? This should work fine. Try out the latest Reports 6i patch-10 for this. You can even approach Oracle Support with your testcase. FYI, with Reports 6i patch-11, a new feature "dlimited data" is introduced which will give delimited output with a data dump i.e it would not be dependent upon the Reports layout. You can probably try out this new feature also.
    Thanks,
    Rohit Hi Rohit,
    Thanks for the information.
well I am generating single output file on each run .
    the problem is somewhat funny.
I have build query2 in data model after query1.
query 1 is giving me correct output both in .PDF and delimiter version.
But query2 is giving me 0 byte file for delimiter version although in .PDF it is running fine.
When I took out query2 to another module it is running fine for both.
    I hope this make sense.
Moreover if u still not clear about the problem and thinks that u can help me out please send me ur mail id so that I can send you the RDF copy.
    Thanks

  • Report, Make a linkage group for two pages each page has a Repeating frame

I Have two pages. And each page have a repeating frame inside a main frame.
And two pages have a relational data. So, I should to make a linkage group for this two page.
    In my case,
    PAGE 1.
    *M_1 Main frame start
    R_1 Repeating Frame start
    Personal Data Part 1.
    R_1 Repeating Frame end
    *M_1 Main Frame end
    PAGE 2.
    *M_2
    R_2
    Personal Data Part 2.
    R_2
    *M_2
If there are 3 peoples information, Repeating frame will display continuously.
    In my case,
    page 1
    page 1
    page 1
    page 2
    page 2
    page 2
But I want to do the following.
    Page 1. -- 1st person's data
    Page 2.
    Page 1. -- 2nd person's
    Page 2.
    Page 1. -- 3rd.
    Page 2. so on...
    I need your help.
please let me know how to solve this problem.

    Hi,
i have a question related to this.
i am making a report in a similar pattern:
    *M_1 Main frame start
    R_1 Repeating Frame start
    Data Part 1.
    R_2 Repeating Frame start
    Data Part 2.
    R_2 Repeating Frame end
    R_1 Repeating Frame end
    *M_1 Main Frame end
Now the problem is that whenever there are multiple occurences of data in R_2, the data Part 1 is also printed that many times, whereas i want to show this just once.
Is there any way to do this?

  • Page Break Before & Repeating Frame (Reports 10G - Windows)

    Hi to all,
I have to give page break when a condition met in a tabular report.Like it s advised I tried some layout objects with page break before property true and wrote their return code true if this criteria occurs. But whatever I tried, I couldnt get my desired output. It gives page break but repeats a blank repeating frame in the next page but only with that object I added later with page break property. Anybody have an idea ?
    Thanks...

    Hi,
sounds like there's no child object for your object with page break before. This property has only impact of the object itself and all it's child objects. An object is a child object of another object, if the position of this objects has impact of the own position. This is only the case, if the parent object is vertical expandable and the child object is horizontally overlapping the virtual expand-region, or the child-object is anchored to the parent object.
So if you have this layout:
    blue box fixed size
    red box fixed size
    yellow box fixed size
and you set page break before to the red box, you will get:
    blue box
    yellow box
    -- page break
    red box
If the red box is verical expandable you will get:
    blue box
    --page break*
    red box
    yellow box
So in your tabluar report your field of the report should be in a frame and this frame should be child object of your new object which must be vertical expandable or anchor them together.

  • Report Repeating Frame

    Hi
I have a report with three query and three frames
1st and 3rd frame are display only in first page and fix location.
Middle one(2nd) is display in all pages included 1 page
Problem is 2nd frame i used vertical elasity ='FIXED'
when record goes to 2nd page its display record only the same size of repeating frame. if i change the vertically elasity to Variable its overlapped or change the position
of my 3rd frame. can i set any way to 2nd frame to vertically with out disturbing my last frame. last frame has the same as 1st frame . i am working on Statement .
    Last Section Contain Payment slip.
    Please Help Me

    Hi Syed,
If I understand your requirements correctly, here is what you want to do...
    Page 1:
Frame 1 - fixed no of records
Frame 2 - as many records as can fit in after accounting for Frames 1 and 3
Frame 3 - fixed no of records
    Page 2 onwards:
Frame 2 - all remaining records
It is not possible to design a layout where any one frame's (your 3rd frame) records can be placed "in between" the records of another frame (your 2nd frame).
A workaround would be to break up the data of 2nd frame into 2 frames (might be possible if it is sorted), and then design like this:
    Frame 1
Frame 2 - fixed width, only as many records as can fit in on a page after accommodating Frames 1 and 3
    Frame 3
    Page Break
Frame 4 - variable width, all remaining records
Pl let me know if my understanding of your requirememnts is not correct.
    Navneet.

  • Problems with relative positioning divs

    Hi all,
I'm still new to this css layouts thing, but am stumped by this problem. I have numerous parent divs with multiple child divs within them on my page design, and for some reason these child divs are not taking up the correct spacing that I enter in the CSS. They are all relative positioned, mostly using floats and clears (and I don't think I've missed any of those). Help! Hoping that it's something simple I've missed.
To pinpoint one example of this recurring problem, the #sidenav_one div will float: left with a spacing of top 8px and left 8px, but then #sidenav_two refuses to float: left, clear: both with a spacing of top 8px (I've had to put in 16px to actually get 8px, in both Firefox, Safari and Opera). (relevant parts of code highlighted).
I am happy to change how I've structured the page, if people think there is a better or cleaner way to do it. Thanks in advance.

This is much simpler than you would think. You're making it hard work for yourself because you believe css is much more comlex than it really is or need be.
You rarely need to use relative positioning at all. You are using too many <divs> and redundant css attributes to reach your goals.
Think of the web as a simple structure of boxes and ino those boxes you place html tags or 'when' needed other <divs> ('when' is the choice word here. In time you will know when and when not to)
Copy the css and page code below and paste into a new Dreamweaver document. See how much leaner and cleaner the css and html code is.

  • Frame overlaps repeating frame when I run the report

    Hi
I created a report manually. On my designer, I have a frame, on top of which I have a repeting frame with all the fields and labels etc. However when I try to run the report, I get the frame on the top as a result the information on the repeating frame is hidden and report comes out to be blank. What am I doing wrong here?
    Any help?
    Thx!

If you have frames positioning like this, the bottom frame could take place of the top one:
        |             |
        |             |
    |             |
    |             |
    --------------<br>
    <p>
Solution is, move both to the left. If its not feasible, other solution is create another outer frame for the first one and maximize that to the left and don't show borders for that frame.
    </p>
    <br>
    Hope this helps.
