REM with Co-Product scenario.

Dear Friends,
Can we use REM with Co-product scenario? In CO-PRODUCT scenario, while creating the production order I am getting 2 line items in the settlement rule (one for the main item and another for the co-product). During GR w.r.t. order, system is proposing 2 materials with 101 movement. But in case of REM, system is creating single line item in the settlement rule. System is posting the co product also as by-product using the 531 movement only not as 131 movement. Hence clarify me... whether can we use co-product scenario along with REM or not??? Please note that I have used the same source structure.

CO Product scenario won't work in REM SCENARIo, Because Setllement is not an order based, Its a period based.
SAP WON"T recommended the coproduct scenario in REM. So please change the scenario to discrete or PP-PI for that material.

SNP Capacity plaaning scenario with planning products

Hello APO Experts,
I have come across a capacity planning scenario in metal industry.
Suppose the machine is producing sheets of thickness ranging 2mm thickness to 8mm thickness. There are three groups as shown below P, Q, R,
These individual product orders are loaded on Resource: W100
Groups                                                          Limited Capacity In Tons          Individual products   Planning product
Group P: Less than 2 mm                                      75                          a1, a2, a3, a4, a5                       P
Group Q: From 2mm to 4 mm                               100                           b1, b2, b3, b4, b5                     Q

The total sheets produced in one day 500.tons All the groups should be producced on daily basis in the sequence of P,Q,R. Limiting the capacity given above. In SNP planning , I would to limit the capacity based on the basis of planning products.
The planned orders will be coming for Individual products that are a1, a2, a3, a4.
In SNP planning run, the quantity of Individual orders should be sum up at the group level.
For Group P : a1, a2, a3 u2026. Sum up and the quantity should be checked for Capacity of 75 tons order quantity.
For Group Q : b1, b2, b3u2026. Sum up and the quantity should be checked for capacity of 100 tons order quantity.
Like wise for Group R : c1, c2, c3u2026. Sum up and the quantity should be checked for capacity of 300 tons order quantity.
I want to use the planning product concept to model this scenario. P will be the planning product for a1,a2,a3....
Q will be the planning product for b1,b2,b3....
Following master data created : Material master , BOM , routing for individual products. Material master for planning product. Planning product updated in the material master of individual products in MRP view.
Please let me know , your suggestions for use of planning product scenario with capacity check on product group level.

So, you are saying you are unconcerned about consumption of independent demand, and unconcerned about performing ATP against a forecast, which are the main feature of a planning product? You are only interested in how your supply elements and capacity consumption is aggregated/disaggregated? If this is the case, I don't understand why you would wish to use Planning materials. Based on what little you have told us of your requirements, I would think that Product Hierarchies would be more suitable......

Reservation with Extended classic scenario

Hi ;o)
I'm working at a costumer were we have extended classic scenario. We want to be able to make reservations in the backend if the item is on stock, and we have seen in a solution matrix from SAP that this should be possible.
The configuration for reservations should be done according to the guides - but no reservations is created when ordering a stock material.
I was searching on the developer network, and came across a topic, where it was stated that reservations could only be made with classic scenario (or using a BAdI where you switch the extended on and off depending on product category). Do any of you know if this is really a fact?

Read this first.
You can use BBP_CREATE_RES_BACK BADI using Se18 Transaction.
This BADI You can find in SPRO -> Supplier Rel. Mngmt. -> SRM Server -> Business Add-Ins -> Follow-on document generation -> Reservation in Backend System
If you want to create reservation, you have first to switch from ECS to classic scenario through BBP_EXTLOCALPO_BADI then you have to implement BBP_TARGET_OBJTYPE badi to determine the criteria to create a reservation in your backend.
We need to maintian the customising setings in SPRO Transaction.
Define objects in Back end systems. Maintain the document type EC or ECPO for Purchase Orders and not for creating reservations. Maintain number ranges (RS) and align the same to R/3 or backend systems. In setting up the org plan in the PPOMA_BBP Transaction, the attribute for resevation - Attribute BWA should be maintained too, if reservations are to be created in the backend system.
Movement Type Accounting Object
201 Cost Center
221 WBS-Element
231 Sales Order
241 Asset
Example :
logicalsystemname\201
Maintain the following Settings in the IMG using SPRO Transaction.
1.For internal Procurement > 1.Always Reservation for Material types Subjected to inv Mgmt
2.For External Procurement >1.Always purchase Requisition.
Note -> The plant that you use to create the shopping cart might not be extended to handle inventory management. Select a right plant which is extended to inventory management and you will see a reservation being created.
Be aware that:
- with the classic scenario you can create PR, PO and/or Reservations in R/3, but there is no local purchasing document (except the SC), so all functions around the local PO will not be possible.
- with the extended classic scenario, you can only create PO in the backend, but a local PO exists in SRM.
Concerning GR, it is possible to make it in SRM for both scenario

Marketing Organization
The marketing organization is an attribute of marketing plans and campaigns. It is part of the SAP organizational model that enables you to define how your company structures responsibilities in its marketing activities. You use the marketing organization to map the marketing logical enterprise structure to the organizational units in your company.
The marketing organization has the following attributes:
Product category
Country
Reference currency
You use these attributes to describe the marketing organization. For example, if you base your organizational units on brands, you can use the product category for the brand.
The marketing organization can be completely different from the sales organization or the service organization in CRM.
Marketing organizations are relevant for campaigns and marketing plans only. They are not relevant for trade promotions or deals. Consequently, the Marketing Org. field is available for campaigns and marketing plans only.
You can use the marketing organization attribute for:
Authorization checks
You can use the marketing organization in authorization checks, for example, to determine whether a user is authorized to change a particular campaign.
There are no marketing-specific authorization objects for the marketing organization. You can add authorization checks on the level of the marketing organization by using standard Organizational Management structural authorizations, or authority object PLOG. You can go down to the level of user name to build the authorization environment. To make settings for the structural authorizations, see Customizing for SAP Web Application Server, under Application Server Business Management SAP Business Workflow Authorization Management Structural Authorizations .
Automatic entry and checking of marketing attributes
The system can use the marketing organization for providing default entries to certain fields in Marketing.
Partner determination
For example, you can use the marketing organization to determine the appropriate marketing manager for the assigned marketing organization, and assign it to the campaign (on the Partner assignment block).
Workflow routing
You can assign a marketing organization to a campaign, and then start a workflow based on the attributes of the campaign. For example, you change the status of a campaign with a particular product category to For Approval. The system routs a workflow item to all users who are assigned to a marketing organization with this particular product category.
Cost planning
Cost planning enables you to split key figures across multiple dimensions. For example, you can use the marketing organization to distribute the costs of a campaign across several marketing organizational units.
Reporting
You can use the marketing organization in reporting. For example, you can measure the success of a particular organizational unit.

Backflusing in REM with reporting points

Hello everybody,
I am making some tests with Backflushing in REM with optional reporting points and I have a doubt. This is the situation:
- Activities: In MFBF, I select "activity backflush" and the reporting point and everything is ok, the backflushing is done correctly.
- Components: In MFBF, I select" component backflush" or "assembly backflush" and the reporting point. If the operation in the routing has any component allocated, as the backflushing flag is marked, the goods issue is done automatically. No problem.
- Goods receipt: In MFBF, I select "assembly backflush" and the reporting point. The operation of the reporting point has defined in its control key that a goods receipt for the confirmation is automatically posted for the order. Although this, the goods receipt is not done automatically. If instead of this I do not indicate any reporting point, the goods receipt is done automatically.
I want to be able to make the goods receipt with reporting points, the same as the activities and the goods issues. Does anybody know if it is possible?

Hi Laura,
One question to you is when do we use this Reporting Point concept?
It is used where Production time is considerably long time and we need to monitor the inventory at certain stages.
In the routing, you have define with milestone confirmation, where ever you want to do the reporting point confirmation.
Say in a routing, you have defined 4 operations with RP. Say 0040, 0080, 0110 and final operation 0180.
You want to produce 40 quantiy.
First when you do the backflushing using MFBF, sysstem will take you to operation 0040 - first reporting point - you can confirm 40 or less than 40 quantities.
In second reporting point , you can confirm only quantity less than or equal to that confirmed in first reporting point.
You can see the stock at reporting point using same trasaction MFBF or MF25.

If I understand you currently you want to charge an additional component price for certain products.
Is the added price varies with different products or is it the same for all, are you also shipping an additional product or component with those products?
Without knowing the answers to above question a simple approach you might want to try is create a scenario to add a sku when certain products are added to cart.
Define a price for the hidden SKU, In you page hide the hidden sku from being displayed.

Is there a way to create videos 'fast' with adobe products?

I am an affiliate marketer. I have produced a video Inspro Program: personal development planned and achieved - YouTube and I would like to know if there are ways to create videos within maybe 10 minutes with Adobe products. Please suggest a quick method.

Turnaround times ultimately depend on the skill of the person doing the work just as much as the programs' capabilities. And 10 minutes for editing a video? That's just ridiculous. Importing/ exporting footage or tweaking voice-over audio alone could take longer as could replacing/ re-typing text.

When I tried to type this in for registration, it does register as this numbers also contain letters in it. Apparently the registration boxes accept numbers only. What do I do with a useless product for which I have paid good money for it?????

This is the simple solution which was offered to me when I tried to get the serial code on line.
The box and disc sleeve do not contain a series with 24 numbers which I presume is the product code to install.
I tried to redeem the registration code by following what they recommended, but inevitably it gets to the page that showed the registration boxes that need 24 serial numbers and I got stuck again.
This product is so different what my previous experiences of other software products where I just enter the serial number straight from the disc sleeve and then I got registered and go on to use the software.
I is really frustrating, spending the last two hours trying to get my product going....

A bone to pick with SONY products

First off, I have been looking for a place to voice my opinion, this is the only official SONY place I can find. Being a Sony product buyer I feel the need to ask questions and ponder what Sony does wrong and how they can correct things across the board with many of the principal products on the market such as the Play Station 3, Vaio, and Vita, and the soon to be released S1 and S2 tablets.
I own many Sony products from stereo equipment, the play station, cameras, even had a Vaio at one point. All good products and all decent performance wise. What is getting me upset at this moment is how Sony decides what games are available for specific devices.
Example 1: Sony has many PS3 exclusives that could easily be even better graphically on a PC such as Kill Zone 3. Since they don't even attempt to make PC games, that would help raise the awareness of the Sony Vaio laptop, it makes me wonder why? Can't they release certain titles from the PS3 maybe a year later or more once they are no longer the hot gaming item they once were? I would love to play Kill Zone in glorious graphical detail, I have even read as much from the creators of the game which was created on PC, that the game is leaps and bounds BETTER on a PC.
Example 2: Sony is releasing the VITA hand held gaming device almost at the same time as the S1 and S2 tablets. This is the true area I wish to focus on, product marketing, decisions etc. First off, the excitement of the exclusive titles the VITA will have will certainly make gamers flock to get one, but, the catch is that for a portable device it only has close to 3 hours of battery life? Terrible. So the S1 and S2 tablets are coming out, with the stamp of approval of Play Station games, but so far what I have seen are games from PS1 which is a major leap backwards for gaming from Sony. So the VITA is going to be a marvel of graphical wonder while a device, which in theory should be even more powerful, like the S1 tablet is going to be offering content a decade back in terms of technology?
This part of the equation I can't seem to wrap my head around. What the S1 should have been was a major competitor to the Apple iPad and from what I have read in terms of specs and offerings, it is not much better than a Samsung Galaxy tab. Very disappointed that Sony has put out such an underwhelming product. It is still almost too early to be talking about the S1 and S2 as failures, but in terms of marketing, and telling its customers what it actually is and has available I am very very disappointed. If any company on this planet could have made Apple look bad it was Sony and they failed. The Sony S1 tablet should have been rivaling the graphic power of the VITA, it also should have wireless PS3 controller technology, it should already have exclusive games being offered JUST LIKE THE VITA. Instead we are seeing what looks like a product pushed out the gate too early, with specs that do not beat any other tablet on the market, it is simply... there.
As a result of these examples I have given, I will not be buying any Sony Vaio's and I also will be passing on the S1 and S2 tablets in order to buy an Apple iPad 2. As for the VITA, I will also be passing on it for the short battery life, because long airplane rides are going to burn out battery life quickly on this device. It appears I will stick with my PS3 as it is the best gaming CONSOLE out, but not the best gaming platform, which is still being held by the PC which SONY refuses to improve upon.
The over all direction of SONY seems far too uncoordinated, all over the place, and not stream line. This is one of the things APPLE does so well, they make specific product with top notch quality, and they do it well. Sony is usually late to the game in certain areas of technology, but usually they offer something new and improved upon, so far the latest SONY gadgets seem like they are just good enough for a passing grade, but nothing to really be excited about.

When you buy an iPhone in the U.S. it's locked to that country with the carrier you bought it for.
If you bought the device unlocked in the U.S. it's unlocked, you can use it on any carrier. Even one's outside the country.
If you want to do a repair on a device you bought in the U.S. and your using it in another country, you must send it back to the U.S. Why? That's where you bought it from.
AppleCare Protection Plans and AppleCare Limited Warranties are registered to your hardware.
Your hardware is your iPhone.
Wherever hardware that was bought then that's the country it was designed to be used in and that's where it was manufactured.
Apple is very localized - if you call U.S. tech support, you'll speak to somone in your country.
So, what does all this mean?
In order to do a repair, you need to send it back to the country you got it from.
And we're all customers like you. We understand that you're upset, but Apple isn't gonna bend the rules to one individual.
Policy is policy. Get over it.

Problem with the product activation adobe acrobat 9 standard.

I have a problem with the product activation adobe acrobat 9 standard.
It is a failed hard disk to the pc and was not able to deactivate the license adobe.
Now I replaced the hard drive and reinstalled the software but it tells me that all licenses are used.
Is it possible to unlock the licenses in use?

Adobe can unlock licenses, this is a normal thing for them to do. You must contact them directly, there is no trick or other way.

Valuated Sales order stock with CO Production Order

Dear All,
Our clinet is manifatcuring cables and having 2 plants, for one plant we have configured PP module so we are arriving valuated sales order stock, for another plant we didnt configured PP module so we planned CO production order, but where as we are not meeting our ultimate goal i.e; valuated sales order stock.
So please guide me how to arrive valuated sales order stock with CO Production Order.

Valuated sales order stock is not dependent on PP, so you should be able to still to use it. The requirements class associated with the sales order item determines whether the item is valuated sales order stock and it also determines the valuation method. If you do not have Boms and routings in this plant you can still value the line item based on the material valuation in the material master. You can also value it based on a unit cost estimate that can be created seperately for the sales order item. Justt make the desired settings in the requirement class.
