Reminders app location problem

I have two addresses setup in my "ME" contact (both on my mac and phone). One is home and one is work. But there is a THIRD address (with a red pin next to it) on my iphone that shows up when I activate "Location" based reminders. So there are FOUR options in my list:
current location
home
work
"Roberts Home" ....at a random address that I have never heard of and that is NOT in my address book. (With the RED PIN) <== I WANT TO DELETE THIS ADDRESS & PIN
So I neither know HOW this address got here (the lesser problem) or how to GET RID OF IT (the greater problem).
I thought that all location-based reminders had to be either at a "current location" or in an address in your address book?
Can anybody help other than suggesting that I reinstall the OS and then rebuilding my phone (instead of restoring from backup to avoid re-adding the offending PIN)? I can't see where this "PIN" might be saved...it doesn't show up on any maps, or bookmarks, or in my address book that I can find.
Thanks!

I was having a similar issue. There was a pin at a strange location that it thought was my address (in addition to Home and Work). It turned out that it was due to the Facebook app, which only has my city and state info for my address, and thus it put a pin near the middle of my city and called it my address. I went into Settings -> Facebook and disallowed Contacts to use my FB account. This made the pin disappear in Reminders. It also made the phone not know who I was in the contacts. Fix that by going to Settings -> Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> My Info and re-select yourself.
I hope this helps! If not Facebook, maybe you have another app linked to your contacts that's causing the erroneous pin.

• Reminders.app locations

I can't seem to get reminders.app to update the list of location-based reminders. When I type "home" in a location based reminder, it pulls up two old "home" addresses I had listed...I tried changing my contact card to another one then changing back, but it didn't seem to refresh. I couldn't find a pref file or anything else that I could delete...any help?
It seems like it is caching addresses somewhere.

Well it turns out it can't be done. This strikes me as odd as the buildup of unwanted locations makes the app cumbersome to use. If you have the same problem may I suggest you file a complaint with Apple here.

• I have been using the Reminders app without problems until 3 days ago when all of a sudden, all of my customized lists that I created within the Reminders app, disappeared. Any one having the same problem?

Is there anyone noticing a sync problem in iOS5 across their devices?

ok it took me a few days to get to the bottom of this one. basically what you have to do is wipe your phone then restore it from icloud. before doing so you need to back up entire phone to icloud. Below I have pasted the instructions given to me by apple rep. I went through all the steps and I now have reminders back and working. ACtually I only needed to go through the steps on the first link. Not sure why I was given the second link. Previously stored reminders are gone but i do remember seeing another post somewhere that said how to get those back once the application is no longer frozen. I am going to try that next. anyway here are the instructions to wipe and re-install.
One final note, the rep said when i updated the os I should have done it through the usb via itunes rather then through wifi which I did. She said when updating via wifi you sometimes get anomolies such as this.

• Reminders App - Location Based Reminder Questions

So you can only setup a locaiton based reminder based on an already entered address in a contact?
You can't just bring up a Google Map, and select a locaiton? It has to be an already entered into the phone address?
I don't have all the address I want, but if I could pick a spot on a map, that would be big time.
Not an option?

• I cannot open "Show in Mail" link in Reminders app

Hello Everyone,
I can drag emails over to my reminders app no problem but when I click the "Show in Mail" link. It makes an error sound and doesn't do anything at all.
My default email reader is set to Mail 6.0 in the Mail preferences.
Anyone know what the problem is?

Use Mail to access your emails and not a web browser.
If you have not done this before you can probably get instructions about setting up Apple Mail from your email provider's web site.

• Problem with Reminders App

I have a locational reminder that won't go away. Every time I come home the reminder banner pops up, but when I open the reminders app the task is not there for me to complete or delete - any ideas?

So is this the way Apple works now? Not solving customers problems? I'm sure so many users have had this problem. I've had, and I reinstalled Mavericks 3 times. Works fine for some days and then several Apple Apps stop working. Is that a way to force us ti update to Yosemite? (I don't want to) and then pay to update some third party programs (i.e. Pro Tools). Also, there are so many 15" MacBooks Pro with graphic problems and of course the guys at the Apple Service Centers always say: "It's the logic board, you can have it replaced, but it's so expensive I would recommend a new Mac". I really, really miss Steve Jobs!

• How do I delete locations in Reminders app iOS 8

In the Reminders app on iOS 8 when I turn on "remind me at a location" I see a growing list of locations most of which I'd like to delete. I am unable to figure out how to do this. Anyone know?

• How can i save multiple locations to my reminders app on the iphone 4?

I want to be reminded to do a task when I arrive home. Is it possible to save my home location (and other useful locations) to the reminders app? This is more useful than guessing when I will arrive at a location and setting a reminder for then.
If not possible at the moment, Apple please include this in the next iOS update. Thank you.

Yes, this is possible. Go into your contacts list and choose yourself (hopefully you're in there and set up as the user on the phone.) Then enter in your addresses (home, work, school, etc.) and next time you set up a location based reminder those address will be in there.

• Problems with the reminders app

I've been trying to set reminders on my iphone 5S to remind me on certain days about events and its saves what the event is but not the date or time or to remind me! Does anyone know how to fix this problem I have tried all the troubleshooting ideas listedon apples site?

Have you ever tried doing a hard reset on your phone? holding down the home button at the same time holding down the sleep/wake button for a few seconds and then once the phone is restarted try to edit your reminder once again? have you made sure your notifications in settings for the reminder app is turned on as well and edited to your prefences such as sound and notification view? you might not be receiving notifications if these options are turned off . try the reset and check the settings, notification center, include and make sure reminders app is included with sound and visual prefrences. good luck

My reminders app will not want to create reminders for me. What could be the problem, how to fix it? Thanks in advance

Lol idk I updated this iPhone right when I got it because it said there is a new update so I installed it as soon as possible and there is no plus sign over there. I don't know how that happened maybe its something in the setting do you think you know? And when I ask Siri to create me a new reminder and I tell her the time and everything she says are you sure you want to create this reminder I press confirm and then she says I'm sorry but the reminder you are trying to create can not be crated.

• Reminders.app would like to use your current location.

When I set a location-based Reminder on my iPhone 5S, a window pops up on my Mavericks-iMac asking permission, "'Reminders.app' would like to use your current location," along with radio buttons offering OK or Don't Allow. I have scoured settings on my phone and on my Mavericks iMac--I should not be getting this message.
Your thoughts appreciated.

I'd suggest everyone else uses that page too. Apple probably don't read these posts so if you have something to say direct it at the iOS or OS X feedback forms.

• Reminders App problem - not seeing Today's outstanding reminders ?

Hi! I'm having problems viewing my 'today' outstanding reminders in the 'Reminders App' on both my iPhone & iPad ? I've been experiencing various problems with this App since the latest iOS 7.1 update ? I did reboot but no luck. Help !! I've asked myself if it's due to the fact that I only have 2.2 GB of free on my IPhone but then why would I have the same problem via my iPad when I have 11.6 Free GB ? I love this App and would not want to loose the history nor cease using it's function. Is anyone else experiencing this problem but most importantly does anyone have a solution to this problem !!! N.M.

Thank you Pheny !
I think you are right ! It's unfortunate that a Good product such as REMINDERS is OFFERED to their clients and then not up-kept (such as the Palm Pilot in my earlier days) . In the meantime, I think I solved my problem (a Band Aid solution) by going into each of my category boards to find the outstanding notes and change the due date to have them re-appear ! It's a ***** and a waist of time for an App that is suppose to work on efficiency !!
Let's just HOPE APPLE considers solving their problems in products they offer and respect their CUSTOMER CARE preaching !?!?

• Location based alerts form Reminders app on IOS to mac

• Reminders app in iOS7 (Notes section in Reminders)

Hi
Some of my Reminders have a lot information in the notes section of each reminder.
When I have gone into Reminders and then into the notes section of a reminder I can modify the text, add more in or delete words or lines. No Problem.
If hit 'return' to create a new line, a new line is inserted however no matter where the new line has been entered the screen automatically scrolls down to the bottom of the section, so the new line has now dissapeared up the screen and cant be seen. If I type, the text is put in but I cant see what I am doing as the text being entered is out of sight.
If I scroll back up the screen to the new line, the keyboard dissapears, I tap on the new line to get the keyboard back and the screen scrolls back down to the bottom.
Very frustraiting and it makes the Reminders app un-usable for me.
Thoughts?
Thanks
Geozyg

Hello Geozyg,
It sounds like you are experiencing some unexpected behaviour from the Reminders app. I recommend startign by closing all the running apps on the device:
iOS: Force an app to close
http://support.apple.com/kb/ht5137
Double-click the Home button.
Swipe left or right until you have located the app you wish to close.
Swipe the app up to close it.
When you have done that and restart the phone and test the app again:
iOS: Turning off and on (restarting) and resetting
http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
Take care,
Sterling
