Remote connections in SAP support portal time out

Hello, we are having a problem opening connections to our systems in the support portal and would appreciate any help and direction.  This is probably a problem with our SAPRouter or firewall configuration but have been unable to identify where that problem is, and we are working closely with our network folks to try to correct.  We are able to download OSS notes through SNOTE and all of the RFC's work correctly but we can't seem to keep a connection open to allow SAP support to login to our systems.  The connection appears to open for about three minutes but then gives the error "Host did not respond 1-9 times" then the connection shows cancelled after about 18min.  We have had a high priority incident open with SAP for the last couple of weeks but haven't got much response from them.  SAP has the IP addresses of our SAPRouter and VPN correct and the routestring is correct.
SAPRouter = 216.253.195.169
VPN = 216.253.195.170
Routestring = /H/colo-sap-router.insummit.com/S/3299
We are able to ping SAP(194.117.106.129) from the saprouter server successfully.  A few things I have read indicate that a simple test is that you should be able to telnet to SAP(ip above) on the configured port, 3299 but this we are not able to do and we've told this to SAP, we can telnet to port 21 but not 3299.
SAPRouter is on a Windows 2008 server OS using VPN.  Attached is our saprouttab file.
Also attached is a trace.out file, and dev_rout file.

  • SAP PORTAL Time-Out Settings / BO iView Reports..?

We have created BO object-specific iView requests in SAP PORTAL based on Ingo's posting....
SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise & SAP Enterprise Portal - Part 3 of 4
Currently, just posting some small CR4E and Analysis for Office (*Design Studio will be added in a few months) report objects that are based on BW queries - and response time is a few seconds.
However, long-term as our BW grows - and the volume of data/periods expands we may see some reduction in the performance of these reports, and they make take a few-minutes to return data.
The SAP Portal team already have an issue with an ECC / T-Code report (*no Business Objects involved) which runs over 100 seconds - and hits a Portal time-out....and are wondering if we would hit the same issue if a CR4E within the Portal ran longer than 100 seconds...?
I think the answer is "NO", the Portal time-out would not apply in that scenario. My assumption is that in our solution-path, the Portal's 100 second time-out rule would ONLY apply to the process of the Portal invoking the iView request - and opening the frame for the CR4E content.
Once the frame is open - and the RPT / Prompt-Screen is loaded the Portal time-out is "happy".
After that iView -> BO frame is established....so, even if the CR4E & BW Query took more than 100 Seconds to return/display the data - the SAP Portal would not time-out - as all of that activity is actually taking place at the BOE Platform layer within the frame (and using the time-out settings at the BOE level).
Can anyone confirm that my assumptions are correct, or explain where the assumption is wrong..?
    Thanks in advance...!

In our scenario, the SAP PORTAL has a 100 second time-out, but the Business Objects platform where the CR4E content is hosted has a 600 second time-out for "View on Demand" reporting.
When the SAP PORTAL opens the iView connection, it is opening the CR4E content in a frame on the Portal. Prompts are entered - and the RPT execution begins on the BOE platform.
There is a "spinning-wheel" displayed from the BOE platform, and if run in BO LaunchPad it could run for up to 600 seconds before a time-out occured.
When it is presented in SAP PORTAL via iView connection - does that "spinning-wheel" from BOE Platform provide enough of a "heartbeat" to let the PORTAL know not to drop the connection at 100 seconds....?
My reasoning is that SAP PORTAL should be opening the BOE content with the same rules that apply when the report is opening in the BO LaunchPad.
We are going to create a "SLOW" report in CR4E (*Lots of charts & sub-reports) to test/compare LaunchPad and Portal display of the same report.

  • Your user has no SAP Support Portal user assigned

    Hi all,
in transaction SM37 I found a job that almost everytime ends with error. Name of the job is "SM:SYNC SAP SESSIONS" and it's executed daily. The error message is :
    Job started
Step 001 started (program RDSWPCISERVICEPLAN, variant &0000000000452, user ID SYS_JOBYSAP)
Your user has no SAP Support Portal user assigned
Job cancelled after system exception ERROR_MESSAGE
Everyday the job is scheduled automatically by another job "SM:SCHEDULER". I suppose that is same on your systems.
I know the error message say that I should try to assign S-user to user SYS_JOBYSAP but I think it should not be the problem because some days the job ends with no errors. Also when I duplicate some old job (with status Cancelled) and execute it immediately the job ends in green.
Do you have any idea what could be wrong? Is it possible that there is some problem with connection to SAP almost regularly everyday in same time?
    Best regards,
    Zbynek

I would like to check whether the SAP service that is used by job SM:SYNC SAP SESSIONS is running in given time. I need to re-schedule job SM:SYNC SAP SESSIONS to other time. How is it possible? I think the job SM:SCHEDULER uses some table that contains detail informations about scheduled jobs. Is it right? Do you know name of the table?

  • Netviewer crashes my dell pc when trying to connect to sap support

Hi all, if this is in the wrong place, please move it.
I have had a problem that my pc crashes (blue screen) after i initiate netviewer online to connect to sap support. it is a pain because we have to use an older product and the response time is slow. i contacted netviewer directly and they sent me this fix, which has worked perfectly.
    Dear customer,
Thank your for contacting Netviewer Support.
This is a known issue. When Netviewer starts on a Dell computer, the application produces a blue screen. What is causing this?
This phenomenon occurs only on Dell PCs with a preinstalled Windows operating system.
The file that causes a blue screen is no longer installed. The integrated sound card is from IDT (www.idt.com) but the file "ctAudDrv.sys" belongs to Creative Labs Advanced Audio FX Engine.
    Remove the problem as follows:
Rename the file "ctAudDrv.sys" to "ctAudDrv.sys.bak" under "C:WindowsSystem32Drivers".
    Restart the PC.
Download and install the appropriate audio driver from the Dell website at www.dell.com, for example: ftp://ftp.us.dell.com/audio/IDT_92HDxxx-HD-Audio_A06_R213367.exe
Für weitere technische Fragen stehe ich Ihnen gerne zur Verfügung./

    Hi Erik,
This is the .NET SDK forum for software development using the Crystal Reports programming runtime and nothing to do with Netviewer. No idea who looks after it...
Best to create a case in SMP and discuss with a Support Rep.
    Thanks
    Don
PS - not the first time the OEM Build of Windows for DELL has caused problems. I personally find it's better to update/upgrade to an off the shelf version of Windows.

  • Portal Time out

    Hi ,
I want to set the portal time out , such that if a user is not doing any activity , the portal should log him out(like banking websites)
Please let me know the steps to do the same
I found out that it can be set from System Administration --> System Configuration --> UM Configuration --> Security Settings, but i could not find Lifetime of the SAP Logon Ticket option there
    Please help

    hii.
The termination of the Portal and all Web Dynpro applications as a whole is defined by the Security Session timeout.
This is an absolute timeout value, e.g. the default is about 27h, that always terminates the whole security session after the defined period of time independtly from any user interaction.
The expiration of the HTTP sessions is handled automaticaly and does not need to be cared about.
When the HTTP sessions are created they get the maximum of the application session timeout and the default HTTP session timeout. After the corresponding application session has been destroyed, the HTTP session gets a very small value to expire as soon as possible.
Go through this SAP NOTE to make the suitable changes:-
    Note 842635
Also refer to NOTE 842878 for Session Management Information.
    Also use this Links.

  • SubscribeNet vs. SAP Support Portal

Okay, I purchased a new license from TechXtend. They were good about calling me until they got my credit card. Now they are radio silent.
Where would I see that new license? I logged into the SAP support portal but I can't figure out where to go or what to do. Awful.
I logged into Subscribenet and I still see my licenses there and it appears that I could check them out. But I don't see the new license
I think the SAP Support Portal should just be called the SAP Confusion Portal. Never have I seen so much crap that doesn't apply to me pushed into one page. Seriously, it sucks.
Can I still use SubscribeNet to manage my licenses? Is there a place to manage the licenses in the SAP Confusion Portal? I clicked on Licenses and then I have to search a installation. I only see my two licenses, not the new one. So is something bogged down somewhere? I tried to check in one of my existing licenses and then I was prompted for a user id and password again must have done something wrong because I got sent to jail and now I have to pay $200.00 to get out.
    Awful.

    Thanks Chris.
That is the way that I would have preferred to do it. I am now waiting a full three business days for the license. Funny, you can buy direct, but I cannot. I guess I must have pissed of Sue Dunnell with one of my previous posts because she was the one to tell me that said that only customers can go direct to SAP, but I would have to go elsewhere. Odd that most people here, including myself have been using the product since the early 90's. What does make a customer Sue?
And I still have no definitive answer on using SubscribeNet. It still shows my old company name and that one of my licenses is associated with a server that no longer exists while the other license is correctly associated with my workstation that did not exist previously.
I suspect they goofed up the migration.

  • Remote connection to SAP is failed due to router settings in SMP

    Dear Gurus,
We have configured saprouter for our landscape in solution manager server.
we want to open remote connection to SAP for our systems.
in service.sap.com I tried to maintain the saprouter details
but it is not allowing me to edit IP address
for ex: in the SAP-Router tab when i gave hostname of saprouter , it is automatically
selected as another IP address which is unique.
Could you please guide us , how can we proceed further and give remote connections to SAP
    Thanks and Regards

    hi,
If you want to change the IP address of your router than you have to open a OSS message to change the IP. Customer can not change the router IP address. After your message SAP will change the IP.
    Thanks & Regards

  • Number of developers that can be registered in SAP support portal

    Hi Peers,
I would  like to know how many Developers can be registered at SAP support portal for an Installation number is there any limit on this. Can we delete a developer registered at SAP who is no longer working in company.
    Thx

    Hi
The number of developer license depends on your license agreement with SAP . You can delete the Developers from SMP
Make sure that you delete the entry in DEVACCESS table too. After that  lock the user and if you created it as Developer in the SU01 -> License Data as developer , remove the developer tag and keep it blank.  If you don't remove the entry from DEVACCESS table, the user can be recreated and and can be used a developer.

I need to create a new message into SAP support portal. But I don't find my systems. Using the System Search window I find my customer and product into dropdown lists , but If I run a search with this criteria I don't have nobody as return system. Checking in data admnistration I find my systems with correct customer,  license and installation number.
Someone Known what can be happened?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hello there,
You could open a support message about the SAP Service Marketplace, and ask them to check the system information in the marketplace. The component would be XX-SER-SAPSMP-SYS.
If you don't manage to open support messages at all, you could call your Customer Interaction Center with the contact information you can see at note 560499.

  • SAP Support Portal - How to add my SAP xMII license in this enviromment?

    Hi All,
The correct way to get support from SAP is in the SAP Support Portal (http://service.sap.com/support). I can serch SAP Notes, tutorials, help guides, and a lot of things with my SAP Personal ID.
To leave Messanges (SAP Support Portal->Problem Solving->Customer Messanges), I need a System in my profile, but when I try to put him, there are no options, only for "tradicionals" SAP Systems.
I call the Suppor Call Center in Brazil, but none know how to help me.
What I have to do? What is the correct way to leave messages about our problems and problems from our customers?
    Thanks for any help...

    Konitech/Neoris - Brasil

    Hello Vinicius,
You need to get the guys in Exton to help you with this.  We developed a workaround for the Support System - since you don't actually register an xMII license it works a little differently. Give the guys in Exton a call and they should be able to help.

  • Remote Connection to SAP with SAP Web Dispatcher

    Dear Experts,
i have installed a SAP Router + SAP ECC 6.0 IDES + SAP Portal 7.0 + SAP Solution Manager 7.0. The remote connection works.
SAP Router is in a DMZ
SAP ECC 6.0 IDES + SAP Portal 7.0 + SAP Solution Manager 7.0 are in another network only for SAP Systems
Fo security reason, i would like to install a SAP Webdispatcher with the SAP Router's Server.
    I already:

have executed the sapwebdisp -bootstrap command
have started the web dispatcher with sapwebdisp pf=sapwebdisp.pfl
have activated /sap/public/icman and /sap/public/icf_info/* services inthe SAP Solution Manager
As the saprouttab file for the saprouter, i would like to establish the connection to SAP withe the SAP WebDispatcher.
    My questions are:
What are the parameters i have to put in the sapwebdisp.pfl file?
Do i have to create the PERMFILE and the AUTHFILE?

    Hello,
The two important paramters are covered in your profile.
    Accessibility of Message Servers
    rdisp/mshost = <Solution_Manager_hostanme>
    rdisp/msserv = sapms<Solution_Manager_SID>
    ms/http_port = 81<Solution_Manager_Instance_Number>
And the port on which your webdispatcher listens from outside world.
    icm/server_port_0 = PROT=HTTP,PORT=8050
For additional security you can use the https port also.
I dont think you need to maintain any other file manually.
I had configured web dispatcher but for 640 stack. It should be more or less the same.
    An example file sapwebdisp.pfl
    Profile generated by sapwebdisp bootstrap

  • Remote Connection from SAP to MS-SQL server

    Hello Experts,
We have been following 2 options so far and we have come across some issues
The first Option is to call a stored procedure (this is our preferred method) which does the data transfer for us
We have been able to test this scenario successfully from SQL Server side
However, while calling the stored proc via native SQL from ABAP we have come across an issue which is due to SQL 2005 changes (Schema implementation and difference in the security context)
While calling the stored procedure from the ABAP Code we have an error
The program short dumps with runtime error DBIF_DSQL2_SQL_ERROR, exception CX_SY_NATIVE_SQL_ERROR. The database error code is 15274, and the error text is
"Access to the remote server     is denied because the current security context is not trusted."
This issue is new after the SQL Server 2005.
We are trying to resolve that.
Secondly we have been trying the DBCON option as well as per OSS Note 323151
We have a few things thatu2019s impacting our scenario:
The remote servers are in a different domain
The remote servers are located  in DIZ
Remote server is a named instance
Remote server has been configured with a different port than standard (1565) u2013 All Connection strings will need port in there
The Database name starts with a numeric value
Due a combination of factors as mentioned above the standard approach does not work
Have any of you used this approach while connecting from SAP to MS-SQL server? Do you know of any successful methods to connect to SQL using ABAP (or not) from SAP.
    Thanks in advance,

    Yes,
    DBConnect & UDConnect.
    Works like a charm.
We write data into a MS-SQL database via DBConnect & an ABAP program (using open sql).
