Remote proc execution

Is there any way to execute a stored proc (with DML on remote objects) of remote Oracle/TimesTen from TimesTen?
I know DB links not supported in TimesTen, but how do we access remote objects without Cache Grid ?

TimesTen does support distributed transactions through use of an external transaction manager that provides support for XA or JTA protocols (e.g. Tuxedo, WebLogic Server etc.). TimesTen does not implement its own distributed transation protocol.
The primary use case for TimesTen is to deliver extreme performance. Distributed transactions are by their very nature pretty slow. You should think carefulyl about using them if you are trying to build a high performance system.

  • Remote Query execution option

    Hello Experts,
    I have installed and configured Intercompany 2.0 for testing, during which I could not find remote query execution option which was there in earlier version.
    Is there any setting to be done to enable this feature in new version.
    Thanks
    Deepak

    Hi Deepak,
    To access the Remote query execution feature of Intercompany, you are required to enable the SAP B1 user for the same. Follow the steps below to enable Intercompany solution Remote Query Execution feature:
    Log in SAP B1, navigate to Administration--> Setup--> Users and search the user.
    On Users-Setup screen, select Can Use Remote Query Execution check box and choose Update button.
      3. Now, using this user, login SAP B1 and open Query Manager window.
    4. Now on Query Manager window; Select a query, choose either of following options and execute          the query:
         Local: To execute and pull data from the logged in company.
         ALL   : To execute and pull data from all intercompany configured companies.
         Selection: To execute and pull data from a selected set of intercompany configured companies.
    Refer to Intercompany Integration Solution User Guide for further information related to Remote query execution.

  • Remote script execution.

    Hello.
    I would like to know how to run a script on a remote Linux machine. Can I do this without caring where the local JVM is running?
    I haven't done this before, and have searched various places for a concise answer. I have not been successful. Will something like the following work: Runtime.exec("remote.machine\remote.script.sh");. I have also noticed that my searches seem to lead me to discussions of Java RMI, so in thinking RMI has something to say about what I'm doing, I have posted my question here.
    Background: I have a java application (a web service in fact) that needs to get information from a back-end system to do its job. It needs to invoke a script that's running on a remote host where the coveted business system resides.
    The Runtime.exec() method appears only to run processes on local machines. From the research I have done, the usual fudge here is to know the operating system of the local machine so you might be able to use its remote process execution facilities. However, I don't want to know anything about the local OS, because it could be different between development, testing, and production. I know that the remote OS is Linux.
    Is there any way I can get a process to run on a remote machine without having to know about the local machine's OS?
    Many thanks in reply,
    Owen.

    You need obviously the remote system to support this through some facility like remote shell (rsh) or secure shell (ssh). so it depends on how that remote Linux system is set up and what access (userid) you can get for it.
    Are you granted some access to that remote Linux machine?
    If yes, what kind of?

    You can't solve this problem yourself. You would need to wait for apple to release a "fix" or for McAfee to revise their judgement.
    If you're worried about the threats, don't do things that would expose yourself to the vulnerability that they describe.
    Since I can't see what you're looking at, I can't give you any other advice.

    Hi Experts,
    My IPS has been reporting "PHP-Remote Code Execution" attack on one of our webserver for a while now. Each time the attackers IP address keeps changing. I created an object-group and access-list to deny the object-group on my firewall and i keep adding the attacker's IPs to the group, however i keep recieving new "PHP-Remote Code Execution" attacks. My IPS is in promiscous mode and i have auto signature update enabled.
    IPS has reported "packet denied by global correlation in some case. Like i said, IPS is in promiscous mode. Signature: 2271/0 and CVE-2012-1823

  • Adobe Acrobat Reader Crafted PDF Document Remote Code Execution

    Hi all,
    I was wondering if Adobe can clarify when "CVE-2012-4363 Adobe Acrobat Reader Crafted PDF Document Remote Code Execution" will be fixed?
    It's been a pretty long time since this issue was reported.
    With kind regards,

    i was also given the Knowledge Base number 405461 from adobe, and they said that this would definitely fix the problem...AND IT DIDN'T :-(
    see kb405461
    http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/view...nalId=kb405461
    and just to let everyone know, i have already completely uninstalled adobe reader and reinstalled it several times thinking that fresh install would cure the problem, and it hasn't made a bit of difference. the version of reader doesn't matter either, as i've tried versions 7, 8 and 9... all with the same exact issue...which makes me think that it might be an issue with MS IE6.

  • Remote process execution

    I want to send a code snippet, over a Bluetooth connection, from one mobile device to execute it on another one.
    How can I do this? Can i send it as a file and execute there? or does it have to be in another format? and how does the execution occur?

    I have a query that runs on Host H1 (client host) connecting to a database A running on Host H2 (remote DB Server) and i get this. Its a kind of big query that touches several tables.
    ORA-04030: out of process memory when trying to allocate 64544 bytes (sort subheap,sort key)
    The same query runs fine if i execute it directly on the DB server (Host H2). I thought there are differences of ulimit between the H1 & H2 hosts that is causing it unable to utilize the local memory. But the same query goes on other DB hosts say Databases B on H3, C on H4, D on H5 etc., No issues with those at all.
    All these hosts are of different flavors of UNIX and have different capacities. But H1 is my cental location where the data is being collected and stored for reporting purposes.
    Verified all memory parameters such as pga_aggreaget_target , work_area_policy etc., and all look good on Host H2 (which is why the local execution was successful). So, what could go wrong with my remote execution of the same query? Any ideas?please check master note for these errors.

  • Authorize plugin notify, on connection timeout + remote function execution

    When a client application stops the stream I normally get an
    E_STOP notify. But if a client dies due to network outage or the
    client computer dies (or something other unforseen that doesnt give
    a FIN/RST on the TCP connection), then it seems there is no way to
    get a notification about this..
    Or have I missed something?
    If not, that is a big feature request for us, and probably
    other people developing pay-per-view-stuff..
    Also, is there some way to catch remote executions? Ie if my
    client calls a function on my SSAS, can I catch that invocation in
    my authorize module somehow? (Or in some other way get trigger some
    code in my plugin, when a client calls a function)
    Is there somewhere on the adobe site one can submit feature
    requests to FMIS?
    Thanks!

    Hi, thanks for your answer!
    Yes, that would be one solution that I've thought of.. But
    then the question is how to interconnect SSAS/remote events with
    the authorization plugin..
    The only thing i've found is the addNotifyAction on
    IFmsAuthEvent that allows me to call a a SSAS function from my
    plugin (when I process an actual event). But not the other way
    arround (dispatching an authorize/notify event in my plugin, from
    SSAS) as far as I've seen...
    I guess if I implement the server pinging feature, and do a
    disconnect, i should get a E_DISCONNECT that I can use, so that
    might be a (very ugly) solution.
    Okay so I tried that now, with the following code:
    application.onAppStart = function()
    setInterval(application.pingAll, 30000);
    Client.prototype.onStatus = function(info)
    trace("client "+this.id+ "/"+this.ip+" onStatus with
    "+info.code+", "+ info.level +": " +info.details);
    Client.prototype.onResult = function(info)
    trace("client "+this.id+ "/"+this.ip+" onResult with
    "+info);
    application.pingAll = function()
    trace("Pinging "+application.clients.length+" clients");
    for (i = 0; i < application.clients.length; i++)
    var c = application.clients[ i ];
    var r = c.call("ping", c);
    trace("Pinging " + c.id + "/"+c.ip+ ", result "+r);
    The result of this was, when pinging a client that was alive
    I got "NetConnection.Call.Failed" immediately, but that was
    expected since I haven't implement the ping function in my client.
    So far so good.. Then I started another connection/stream on a
    laptop, and pulled the plug.. A while later it tried to ping.. No
    call to onStatus nor onResult.. waited a bit, after 5 minutes still
    no call to onResult??.. return value from c.call was always true,
    but after around 6-7 minutes, it started to return false instead.
    But no call to onResult..
    To me this seems like a bug? Or do I have to enable timeouts
    or something?
    I do have <AutoCloseIdleClients enable="true"> (with
    60s check interval and 300 max idle) in my config, but still it
    seems that the client object is alive in application.clients way
    longer than 5 minutes..
    Seems Adobe got a few quirks to sort out?
    Thanks for any help or input!

    Hi,
    As mentioned 2 different needs (*) Small table, (*) Bigger table, I will recommenced to think on using 2 different solutions according. Basically for the small table we can just import the data to the local machine, as a new table, and use simple compare,
    But for the bigger table (or if there is very poor NET connection) it is better to use a solution which uses data traffic as little as possible and for this we needs your tables structure. There will be different solution if all you have is ID (INT) column
    or if you are need to compare 1000 NVARCHAR(MAX) columns. Moreover we need to know if you only need to compare (get a list of different records) or you need to fix the records which are not the same or missing, and in this case we need to know what is the
    rule for the fix (for example TabeleA have a record different from TableB so we fix TableB, T1 has missing records that is on T2 then do we delete it fro m T1 or copy from T2? etc')
    Please post DDL+DML and some missing information :-)

  • Remote Program Execution

    Dear Sir,
    I have following problem and very desperately looking for the solution .
    I have 9ias installed on window-2000 server and on this machine JSP/Servlet is also running .
    There is another Unix server also having Oracle 7.3.4 and Pro*C installed .
    My requirement is that on receiving a web client request , the invoked JSP must also execute a C program on the unix machine ( the execution of C program creates a text output file on the unix machine ) and after completion of C program execution the output text file must be available to JSP . As a final result of JSP execution this output text file must be returned to WEB Client .
    Please guide me how to go about this .
    Thanks and Regards
    B V Mittal

    Call your C program like this from your controller servlet
    Process p = Runtime.getRuntime().exec("c.exe");
    BufferedReader stdInput = new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader(p.getInputStream()));
    Then read from your generated file and populate whatever you need into a bean.

  • Using Statement rather than CallableStatement for stored proc execution

    Cleary, if you need to extract output parameters from a stored procedure, then you must use a CallableStatement to execute it. However, if your stored procedure just returns a basic ResultSet, or performs a database update, is there any penalty to using a regular Statement to execute the stored procedure?
    For example -
    String sql = "exec testprocedure 'param1' 'param2'";
    Statement stmt = conn.createStatement();
    ResultSet rs = stmt.executeQuery( sql );
    vs.
    CallableStatement cs = conn.prepareCall( "{call testprocedure(?,?)}" );
    cs.setString( 1, "param1" );
    cs.setString( 2, "param2" );
    ResultSet rs = cs.executeQuery();
    Any thoughts?

    Any thoughts?You would have to look at the actual driver code for a sure answer.
    But for any real database (which a stored proc suggests) I doubt there would be any difference at all. It would resolve to the same call.
