Hiding the blank cells in Webi report - BO 4.0

Hi,
I have created a webi report in which i have used different types of blocks
1) Form table
2) Verticle table
3) Horizontal table.
so now in real time there chances that some of the blocks will not have any data.(i.e it displays blank cell) in the report.
so now i have to hide only the blank cells and not the table headers.that means though the cells are blank i have to display headers.
what formatting changes i need to achieve this in Webi Report.
If anybody does this please let me know the step by step logic in detail.

Hi,
We cannot hide specifc cells in WebI, however we can choose to whether to display or not empty measure values and empty dimension value.
So you need to select the desired block-> Right Click and Select Format Table-> Uncheck Show rows with empty dimension values or Show rows with empty measure values whichever is required to be hidden.

How to remove blank pages from WebI Report in view page layout option

Hi,
I am working in Business Objects XIR2 environment. I have a WebI report with several sections. I need to show the report as a book with 69 sections (each section on new page). there are 69 sections on cost center and each cost center section has almost 10 sections embedded in it. When i see in regular view - I only see 69 pages but when I try to see in "View Page Lay out" option, there is one blank page added after each results page.
Please let me know how to remove this blank page. I need to give users the option to download the book as PDF on to their machine. Now, when I download to my machine, I see one blank page after each results page.

Jus convert your report in Page Layout mode and see if your first pafe is getting expand in the second page.
Now check if there are any cell going into second page.
- if there are any blank cell which is there after table.
you have to check formating very carefull.

How to allow multiple values in a single blank cell in WebI report

I am working in BO XIR2. I have a scenario as follows.
In a single cell (blank cell from template) i need to display multiple contact persons. When I drag the contact person name into the blank cell, I am getting an error: MULTIVALUE). Please let me know how to use a function so that I can show two or three contact person names in a single blank cell.
I tried to use Replace and Char function as follows to bring Carriage Return functionality to the cell.
Replace([Contact Person]; ";" ; Char(13)) but this did not work.

I know this thread has been answered. I recently came across a scenario where I happen to populate multiple values in a single blank cell(from templates). But the only catch being that if user enters multiple values for a prompt you can show them in a single cell eg: =UserResponse("Enter value(s) for Branch:"). would be the formula for the blank cell. Afetr the user selects three values say A, B,C, webi puts it in the format of A;B;C. in a single cell.
In your case try giving that as a prompt to the user or answer that multi prompt some how and when u use the above formula it should suffice your requirement.

Removing Scroll Bars in WEBI Report

Hi All,
I want to remove scroll bars from my WEBI reports. I have observed that even if you have only one column in the WEBI report, scroll bar still appears. Is this anything to do with page layout properties of WEBI where you can set minimum limit for horizontal records per page as 20? Can anybody please help me with this?

We also wanted to have the same thing,we tried to reduce the size of the report and tried to change the page size.
We did everything to remove that scroll bar and did not achieve it, hence we loged a case with SAP BO and they said " this is how the tool is".
But they took it as the enhancement request dont know what is the status on that.

How to deactivate the context menu for data cells in web reports

Hello,
we would like to have the data cells (for example: values in euro) without context menu. I mean, right now, when users navigate in web reports and stop with a mouse over the data cell, text like "Context menu for 5.000 Highlighted" appears. Especially users don't want to see the exception cells with this information like
"Context menu for 6.000 critical 4".
Is it possible to deactivate this context info?

Hello Nuran,
I guess you want to disable the Tooltip and not the ContextMenu. Anyway, use the table interface for it.
Have a look at paramter C_CELL_CONTENT
In Method DATA_CELL.
This one contains strings like:
30,0
Rebuild this String to:
30,0

Hyperlink on Blank Cells in WebI

Hi,
I want to enable the hyperlink on the particular column content. There are few cells that remain blank
Whenever, I enable a hyperlink on that particular column, it gets enable for the cell and however in blank cell it displays the url of the hyperlink.
I would be really grateful if someone could throw some light on this.

Remove blank cells in a table?

I have a Pages 5.0.1 document that's one three-column, multi-row table set up to print address labels for our annual holiday card mailing.
As people come and go from the mailing list, we have a number of blank cells I would like to delete from the table.
After reviewing all the menu and Help options, I've still not found the process.
Can someone help me to discover how I do this? (And where I overlooked the directions to do so? It's got to be possible to do, right?)
In case it matters, this document was originally created in Word years ago on a previous iMac and converted to Pages when I got rid of the MS for Mac suite.

Assuming you want to update columns containing only blanks to null:

Remove Blank Space from Crystal report

i am new in crystal report work.
recently, i have created one crystal report which display item and remaining other detail like tax detail,item grand total, Some extra remark,etc.
But my scenario is that if i take three or more item then it take two page that's ok. on that case i have no problem,
but if i take only single item it will take two pages.
how can i remove unnecessary area.

It seems like your tax detail section is another sub report please compact the subreport if attached.
Right click on the object and select Format Object > checkbox "Supress Embedded Field Blank Lines"
Right Click on the section and click "Fit Section"

Document icon/link in charracteristic cell url /web reporting

Im trying to use the modify class to build custom urls on
characteristic cells of a table in a template
the query has 'display document links' checked
when i run my template through RSRT2 & break before my characteristics cell c_cell_content is modifiedin the characteristi_cell method,
i dont find the document link a href

it is obviously added later..
i would like to know where the document icon & link is added to the c_cell_content. is there a condition /flag in a dictionary table i can check before calling the routine to add the icon

I don't understand your problem. I can see the call in c_cell_content.
Are you sure, that there's a document link for this characteristic value?

You can call SAP portal from WebI Report...
insert blank cell in the report / or select the cell whaere do you want to in the report
and then Right click and select hyper link.
Enter the portal address
It will be opened in the same or new window based on your settings.
Target Window : New Window ..then it will open new window.

Please help: User cannot see webi report data

I've got a wired problem here in my webi report. Basically I am located in Singapore and produced a webi report for our user in UK. The report looks totally fine with all the data shown correctly. But when our report user logged into the dashboard from UK, she could only see partial data and some of the information are missing(blank cells in the report).
To verify the cause I've done the following test:
1. I remote control her computer and log into dashboard using my account, the result is I get same problem and I cannot see some of the data.
2. I let her remote control my pc and log into dashboard using her account, she no longer has this problem and can see complete data.
We use same version of IE, same JAVA version. And the report data is not time sensitive, so different time zone might not the possible cause.
This problem is killing me. Can anyone please help and let me know any possible solution? Thanks so much.

Hi Sinsin, what version of BusinessObjects are you using? Is it XI 3.1?
I don't know if it is the same problem or not, but I have seen that before when a user cannot view the data, change the font and/or background color and the data becomes visible. Reinstalling the client fixed that problem. If you couldn't figure out the root cause, you might want to consider this option.

LOGO ATTACHMENT IN WEBI REPORT

how can you attach the logo in webi report?

Place your logo in the location: <BO Installation dir>\BusinessObjects Enterprise 12.0\images folder. (If you are using XIR2, it will be BusinessObjects Enterprise 11.5 instead of BusinessObjects Enterprise 12.0)
Drag a blank cell in the report and enter the formula boimg://image_name for that cell. Make sure that in the display property of the free standing cell, the option read cell content as is set to Image URL.
You have to adjust the size of the cell to fit the logo.

Cannot move free standing cell in Webi 4?

Hello all,
Have you encountered or heard an issue of not able to move the blank cell in Web Intelligence 4.0? this happened both in webi rich client and at web interface.
Suppose we can add a free standing cell/blank cell freely at any empty area of a report. But it is always aligned to the left. No way to move it around!! This problem is at blank cell, pre-defined cell (e.g. document name, page number, .. , etc).
this seems a simple function but cannot make it to work! any suggesiton is appreciated. Thanks.

this was a problem that we tracked and fixed in patch 2.5, you should please install SP2 and Patch 2.11 which is the latest available.
