Removing "Browse in Bridge" from File menu?

I've accidentally clicked this countless times. I never use it and it takes forever to start up.
Thanks!

I have the same issue when trying to Browse in Bridge from Photoshop CC 2014. When I click "Browse in Bridge" in Photoshop CC 2014, the Creative Cloud desktop client window opens up and asks "Are you sure you want to install this version of Bridge"?
Like you, I also thought it was an update so I clicked' "Yes, install this version" option.
Bridge will launch from the dock icon I have set up, but not from within Photoshop CC 2014.
Any solutions to this bug anyone?

  • Browse in Bridge from Photoshop CC 2014 fails to open Bridge and wants to install new version

Hey community!  I found a few similar posts, but couldn't find much of a resolution.
Last night I was working in PS CC 2014 and all was well.  Used Browse from Bridge in PS.  Everything is working fine all night long.  Get up this morning, return to work, click browse in Bridge, and Creative Cloud desktop client pops up and says something about installing a new version of Bridge and will get rid of my old version.  The first time I just though it was an update, so I said sure, install the new version.  Then, CC wanted to update a few other apps (PS being one of them), so I closed down everything, and let it update everything while I got a cup of coffee.  Came back and it looked like everything was finished updating.  So I went back to work.  Same thing happens again when I click browse in Bridge.  I tried going directly to Bridge's launch icon and THAT at least opened the application.  It was still open to the same folder I had been using the night before.  I double-clicked on the PSD I was supposed to be working on, and then Illustrator pops up and is trying to open the PSD.
***Ok, so I fixed the association problem with Illustrator trying to open the PSD.  I uninstalled my older version of PS CC last night after I was done working, which apparently broke the "file associations" in Windows.  I just had to go tell Windows to open PSD files with PS CC 2014 (even though 2014 has been installed since it's release and that's all I've been using)***
Still can't get around the Browse in Bridge issue.  It is not a real big deal TO ME where I click to open Bridge, but it does seem like a bug that needs fixing.
    Thanks!

  • [SOLVED]XFCE 4.8 remove WINE generated apps from the menu

I want to remove the following entries from the menu.
MOD EDIT -- Follow image posting rules -- Inxsible
The only methods I found were to edit .desktop files (I couldn't find any) or to permanently remove "Others" category.

The desktop files should be located in ~/.local/share/applications
Thank You. Didn't think they were actually in my home folder.

My MacBook Air 13' (2013) will occasionally start the fan at full blast, not connect to any wifi or detect any wifi, and will remove the battery icon from my menu bad as well as tell me there is no battery connected. How do I fix this? I have restarted my computer multiple times, **** it down, and ran a diagnostic test to tell me nothing is wrong and my computer is not running any applications. There is no reason for the fan to be on full blast! when I try to set the option to show my battery icon in the menu bar, it will automatically uncheck. How do I fix all of this?

Have you tried SMC and PRAM resets?

  • Can't create archive from file menu

    Hello,
I can't create 'archive' (tar.gz) from file menu in Color (Save Archive As...).
I don't have authorization problem on my folder project; i can create myself a tar.gz archive in the folder Archive of my Color's project.
    The system.log file said:
Jul 16 09:45:51 fcp1 [0x0-0x1e01e].com.apple.color[215]: tar: Cowardly refusing to create an empty archive
    Jul 16 09:45:51 fcp1 [0x0-0x1e01e].com.apple.color[215]: Try `tar --help' or `tar --usage' for more information.

some other users report difficulties, crashes, freeze-ups and very long save times associated with the Operating System and Finder. There is apparently some background file compression utility that may be interfering with your save routine. There are a couple of threads related to this issue on this forum, so a bit of searching may yield a solution.
I haven't encountered it in nearly four years of day-to-day with three separate systems in either Tiger or Leopard. Suffice to say that if you have any third-party whiz-bang utilities running, COLOR is very vulnerable to OS corruption as it is a stripped-out race car that doesn't expect or tolerate much else when it comes to sharing the computer.

  • IPhoto 11 import to library from file menu

When using iPhoto 11, and attempt to import a photo to library from file menu, nothing happens. No error message, no action. I rebuilt the database, tried deleting the cache and plist. Everything seems fine except I cannot use this function. Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

    First try the following:
1 - delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your
         User/Home/Library/ Preferences folder.
2 - delete iPhoto's cache file, Cache.db, that is located in your
User/Home/Library/Caches/com.apple.iPhoto folder (Snow Leopard and Earlier).
or with Lion and Mt. Lion from the User/Library/Containers/com.apple.iPhoto/
    Data/Library/Caches/com.apple.iPhoto folder
3 - launch iPhoto and try again.
NOTE 1: If you're moved your library from its default location in your Home/Pictures folder you will have to point iPhoto to its new location when you next open iPhoto by holding down the Option key when launching iPhoto.  You'll also have to reset the iPhoto's various preferences.
NOTE 2:  In Lion and Mountain Lion the Library folder is now invisible. To make it permanently visible enter the following in the Terminal application window: chflags nohidden ~/Library and hit the Enter button - 10.7: Un-hide the User Library folder.

  • Remove "Browse in Bridge..."?

Is there any way to remove this menu option from the File
menu? Some registry hack or something? I've clicked it by mistake
three or four times this week already when I was trying to click
"Open...". It's a real PITA since Bridge takes about 30 minutes to
    start and generally just sucks.

It's simply a question of editing Menus.xml in the Menus
    subfolder of
    your Dreamweaver Configuration folder.
In Windows XP, it's in C:\Documents and
    Settings\<username>\Application
    Data\Adobe\Dreamweaver 9\Configuration\Menus
    In Vista, it's in
    C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Dreamweaver
    9\Configuration\Menus
Not sure of the exact location in a Mac, but you should be
    able to work
    it out from the above.
Browse in Bridge is on or about line 2030. Comment it out or
    delete it.

  • Can't bounce, save or select items from "file menu" HELP!!!!!!!!

Hi Hope there is someone experienced enough to help!!!!
    I am having a major problem with Logic Pro 7 ( 7.1.1) and I mean major.…
and to be truthful I have posed this question before on here without resolving the issue although I have tried absolutely every suggestion and idea but am afraid that it is absolutely no different, but thank you to all who have tried greatly appreciated.
    Here is the problem...
About six months ago a suddenly started to experience a weird problem.
    This is the issue,
After recording something into Logic with a software instrument, incidentally this happens with both Apple and external plug-ins, everything records and seems to be working just fine, that is until I decide to render / bounce / save the track / tracks or indeed try to do anything from the “FILE” menu when I immediately trigger the time wheel to spins for ever forcing me to click the apple icon and select “force quit” that always reads Logic Pro ( not responding )
I have ran Disk Utility and did not find any problems with both the internal HD and the external and both passed with no problems. Secondly I have removed Logic compliantly ( many times ) from my computer and reinstalled is once again, but yet again with no successes.
However I do have a niggling question and a curious message when I try to reinstall Logic that rather perplexes me that read something as follows.
You are choosing to install an earlier version of Logic the the one installed, which seems to be implying that I have not properly or filly removed the older Logic version before reinstalling the so called replacement. I am suspicious that the message my be compering my hard copy of Logic Pro 7 against the updated version that I download as an Apple download but no to sure, anyway I was under the impression that I was remove everything if a scoop Logic into the trash, or is something going on that I don’t know about?
Anyway can you suggest where the problem is and hopefully how I can resolve the issue.…
Thank you for you time in reading my problem and I truly hope you can assist me, THANK YOU.
    Dave
    My Computer specification is
    Power Mac G5
    OS X 10.4.8
    Dual 2.3 processor
    Hard drive 400GB
    Memory 2.5 GB
External sound card and Midi interface - Focusrite saffire- All driver up to date and incidentally the problem is sill their whether Focusrite is plugged in or not.
Power Mac G5 - Dual 2.3 - Memory 2.5 GB   Mac OS X (10.4.7)   Midi interface -focusrite saffire

If Jim's suggestion doesn't fix it, then read this
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=300659
and remove all the files shown there.
You are choosing to install an earlier version of Logic the the one installed, which seems to be implying that I have not properly or filly removed the older Logic version before reinstalling the so called replacement.
    That might be the key.
It might help if you delete all the Logic files from the receipts folder with a version number ≥ than the version number you're trying to install from disks.

  • Finder Keeps crashing when opening any folders from file menu

I believed this happened after installing Mavericks.
The finder keeps crashing when attemtping to open a file in any application from the file menu.
I can open the same files by directly going to finder and opening file directly format or 'open with' > choose program.
No other functions have been affected since install.
    Thanks
    PM.

Strangely enough Maverick crashed and sent report a cple of days after this post.
The system rebooted itself but quoted an unexpected operation had caused it to close down. I can't remember the exact blurb.
Since then it seems to have reset my browsing habits with the finder. So far it has been stable.
If I have any more problems I will get back to you.
    Thanks again

  • In recently installed version 3.6.16 I am unable to open a new tab either by clicking on tab or from file menu.

    OS Windows 7 Home Edition.
    Firefox Version 3,6,16
New tab does not open when clicking on tab on right of tab bar or New Tab in file menu.
Have other users experienced this and what is the solution to this problem?

Uninstall the Ask toolbar and it should work again. There is a compatibility issue with the Ask toolbar and Firefox that prevents new tabs from being opened.
There are a couple of places to check for the Ask toolbar:
    * Check the Windows Control panel for the Ask Toolbar - http://about.ask.com/apn/toolbar/docs/default/faq/en/ff/index.html#na4
    * Also check your list of extensions, you may be able to uninstall it from there - https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Uninstalling+add-ons

  • How do I remove the Box icon from the menu bar?

I have an account on Box, which is a sync program.
Before the last Box updated, I could hide its icon from the menu bar, but now it is not possible and I really don't want it there.
I have tried to drag it out of there, by pressing CMD and dragging, but nothing happens.
Is there any other way to remove it?
Thanks in advance for any help, and sorry for the bad English.

The problem is that I don't have the option to remove it anymore. And I don't want to uninstall it wither.
Anyway... Thanks for trying to help me. I'll have to get used to it.
    Thank you again.

  • Both "Save As..." and Duplicate are missing from file menu

Just upgraded and am running OS X 10.8.2 and Keynote 5.3...  The file menu has only Close, Save, Revert to Saved, Export in that section.  Pressing the option key doesn't change duplicate to Save As... since Duplicate is missing as well.  When I press shift-command-S i get an error sound and option-shift-command-S does nothing...  Every other mac app is working fine.  Obviously, I need some help.

Thanks for the response.  I got a fix for it.  Went to another account on the mac and keynote had the proper file menu options listed.  Under library/Preferences I trashed all the iWork related plist and the Cache file--Rebooted and all was back in order.  Wish I could say I figured this out all by myself, but Apple support walked me through it.  FYI if you run across anyone else with this type of issue.
