Rendering a 3D scene in photoshop CC 2014
I must have changed something or my file has gone bad, because suddenly photoshop will render my 3D scene clear; when it had no problem rendering the image many times before.
I'm guessing it has something to do with certain layers being greyed out, I'm not sure how they became greyed out, and I cannot figure out how to bring them back other than clicking on the eye icon, which does not work.
My environment layer, scene layer and a bunch of new layers that say constrained are greyed out. I don't remember seeing the constrained layers in the past, so I'm guessing I did something wrong.
Is there a way to fix this? I spent too much time creating this 3D scene and I'd hate to do it over just so it can happen again.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. - Thanks.

Rendering 3D objects in Photoshop CC 2014
Hello,
I am trying to render some 3D rasterized text in photoshop. It rendered once before but it was all pixelated so I have been trying to figure out why. One tip I read online said to make quality under render settings it set to Ray Traced. I couldn't find the render settings panel. I even looked at a Lynda.com tutorial and that said that those setting options should come up when you click on scene in the 3D panel. This doesn't happen for me. Does photoshop cc 2014 not have this option? What am I missing? I've added pictures of the pixelated text i'm working on and my panels.I was hoping someone experienced this same problem and could help me out. Exact settings sounds a bit extreme, way too many options and objects. I will just figure it out myself.

I'm new to photoshop cc 2014. As I try to type in the text box my text won't show up and every time I click on the layer it alway progress rendering type? What does that mean and is there a way I can turn it off?
Check online with the web site of the maker of your video card for an updated driver (assuming you're running Windows).

Photoshop CC 2014 acts slugish
ever since the new updates and me installing windows 8.1 64bit version OS photoshop CC 2014 has been slugish !
when using mouse to nav" through menus and loading blank page of size 300px x 300 px or size 4320 px x 6480 px.
rendering slow and 70% of the time when using wacom cintiq 13HD pen display drawing with brush some times lags and not show the lines I am drawing right off.
I do have some custom shapes installed a lot really.
and styles and some brushes and Gradients of many different colors and shades.
the brushes I don't normal keep installed unless working on the same subject type design I was working on the day before.
but mostly uninstall them when starting a new project.
I also noticed for some time now since the new releases of the new product of photoshop there is no more PSD preview when opening up files window to view your saved files.
and I for one want that back in the the program.
if I am correct I read most of the forums on here in the past and 100% of the users of photoshop wants that back.
cause using their other means to search for files and open them with is a issue and can't view them as good.
and the icons for them are too small.
I know as a photoshop user I can't see that well to see tiny icons like that in their bridge program.
and I had that on the largest settings to view.
at least the old PSD previewer method we could see it a lot better by our own windows size of a icons.
their bridge preview does not go that large and the widow there is not that great either for viewing !
New issue update:
just tried to convert 2 files on photoshop and it took a long time to do.
and then I couldn't convert to raster image at all.
there was no warning or error messages at all !!
Personal Note:
I think adobe is messing up badly and their not doing their job right for programming their messing up more and more every time they add something new to the photoshop program and its updates.
and when they take something away that was wanted and needed mostly that all users want to keep they ended up messing up the code of their software with loads more errors and issues.
and you can't tell me photoshop any version of their software is not a memory hog !
when it does stress alot memory on your video card and needs to use it all up, or it becomes slow and some times freezes.
you can have a 4gb video card to a 1T + video card and it will still do the same thing.
theres a alot of issue there with that.
and I seen and read about loads of users on this forums board and others complain about.
and even most of them sent in emails to their support to complain about it and they still do nothing to fix that issue.!
and if photoshop is not a memory hog on the video cards ? how come Gimp and Sketchbook pro and manga studio all work flawlessly and smooth as hell without using as much video card memory as photoshop does ?
and their designed to use less and still work smoothly.
and manga studio 5 they have stability program for your brushes to help out with more straight lines and curves and circles and stuff and photoshop does not ?
and that can be adjust in the brushes software to have full 100% to 0%...
and my pc I custom built my self has more power then most brand name desktop pcs on the market for a cheaper price too, cause in most cases with brand name pcs your paying more for the brand name then whats in the product !!!
so my pc has AMD CPU 8 cores 5.19ghz open all 8 cores.
32 GB ram and 2gb Radeon R9 XFX 270X video card for now.
maine hard drive 512Gb SSD samsung and 2nd SSD 128GB samsung 3rd Western digital 2TB HDD.
Main monitor is ACER 10 point touch screen.

see the difference there tablet pc vs pen display.
all it is, is a 13" HD monitor display with wacoms tech, to draw on it.
its not a stand alone tablet pc / wacom pen device.
so the wacom cintiq 13HD pen display monitor will not slow down or effect the programs process speeds at all.
its the same as a regular HD lcd monitor just smaller.

but the reason I didnt get one right off, is cause it does not have the all the feature for a tablet I would like to have.
1. WiFi + 3G or 4G LTE.
2. need more USB ports at least 1 more.

5. more processor power then dual core if its dual core. not sure what type they got.
but most tablets is dual core.

I custom built desktop pcs for a long while now since 1995. ect.
and puting a desktop pc together cost less then having to buy a brand name one with less physical ram and video card ram and less SSD and HDD drive space.
and you get more out of it and cheaper then from retail brand name pc.
you be able to get and put in more physical ram and install a large SSD drive or HDD drive for cheaper money and even a better video card with more vram and also faster cpu processor speed then brand would have, for even lesser money.
to be honest I use photoshop for my business I do t-shirt and mousepad designs ect... for as a hobby on cafepress.com and zazzle.com and spreadhsirt.com and designsbyhumans.com ect.
and I also do themed and art designs for WB,inc.
and lot of the effects I do for my business and for WB are from and on photoshop for brushes and lighting effects and stuff.
and with photoshop cc 2014 working so crappy lately like it has been it's starting to piss me off.
and I am about to file a complaint with the attorney generals office cause of it.
cause I am paying for the product I need for work and stuff and their not doing anything to fix it.!!!
I complain to them about in live chat and they did nothing !
so next step was here the forums board and if nothing here for answers other then the basics.,
then I file my complaint and take court action.!
and I will be post about getting other customers to follow and sign up to join the court case.

Photoshop CC 2014 - error: javascript plug-ins was missing
hi, i have this problem: when i try to open different things, like photomerge or libraries, i see always this message: "photoshop don't open ... because was missing javascript plug-in".
Please tell me a solution, i reinstalled but nothing.

Photoshop CC 2014 Crashes When Opening or Saving PNG Files
I'm having an issue where opening or saving PNG files causes my copy of Photoshop CC 2014 to crash.
I've updated to the latest version, restarted my computer and have no plugins installed. I have also re-installed the program from the Creative Cloud application, although I haven't tried a full uninstall/reinstall sequence.
I'm running an x64 version of Windows and have tried both the 64 and 32 bit versions of Photoshop - neither works.
Other file formats don't appear to cause any issue - the problem is specific to PNG files (does Adobe Photoshop depend on any PNG library like LibPNG? Perhaps an older version has been installed by a different application?)
This issue seems to have occured in the past on the Adobe forums, but there is no clear resolution.Part of the information is missing but your running CC 14.1.2 not CC 2014, and14.1.2 needs to be updated to 14.2.1. I also can not see the date of you video drivers. Here is what my CC 2014 and my 14.2.1 looks like

Creative Cloud 1.8.0.447 update seems to kill Photoshop CC 2014
I been using Photoshop CC 2014 on a Macbook Pro 17" since it was released without incident (system was running 10.9.4, now 10.9.5; it has 16 gigs ram and a 500 mb SSD). In the last few days, I updated Creative Cloud to 1.8.0.447, and that seems to have killed Photoshop CC 2014 (the most recent version--I keep it up to date).
When starting Photoshop CC 2014, I receive an error that the program failed to initialize due to a program error. This happens the majority of the time (85%+). I tried uninstalling and reinstalling Photoshop CC 2014, but that made no difference. The only way around this seems to be pressing Command+Option+Shift while starting Photoshop, at which point I lose my settings (and it's not practical for me to keep reapplying my settings). This was occurring under OS X 10.9.4, and I figured I had nothing to lose by upgrading to 10.9.5 (which I did last night). However, I continue receiving the error and having to wipe out settings in order to start Photoshop.
I've checked the PSErrorLog.txt file for when the error occurs, and it reads:
2014:10:08 20:53:13 : /Volumes/workarea/PS_15_Mac_Daily_Retail/20140926.r.236/photoshop/main/photoshop/sources/ PSOWLListenerProxyBase.cpp : 54 : REQUIRE failed
I've further narrowed down the problem to the switching graphics cards. When the system is forced into the AMD Radeon HD 6750M graphic card, Photoshop starts. When it has to switch between the Intel HD Graphics 3000 adapter the AMD Radeon, Photoshop seems to choke on itself.
For whatever reason, Photoshop CC seems not to have been impacted by the Creative Cloud update, and it continues to work. I'm seriously considering downgrading back to Photoshop CC until such time as Photoshop CC 2014 is stable again.
Does anyone have any suggestions for correcting the failure to initialize error so that I don't have to reapply my settings repeatedly?I was able to resolve the issue by going into File>Project Settings>General and changing the Render from GPU Acceleration (OpenCL) to Software Only. It appears there is an issue with the AMD FirePro D500 graphics card. I was told by a call tech at Adobe that there are issues with the D300, D500, and D700 Graphics cards. However, I have an Intel Iris graphics card on my MacBook Pro and was having the same transparency issue. So, I'm skeptical that the issue is just with the graphics card. The transparency issue did not start on BOTH computers until the latest CC upgrade. For now, the Software Only renderer option fixes the issue. I hope to see a fix in the next CC update. FYI: The Renderer needs to be changed to Software Only in both Premiere Pro Project Settings and Media Encoder Preferences.

Photoshop CC 2014 3D positioning in video animation timeline
I'm a mac user and experimenting with the 3D and video timeline features. All I am trying to do is make a small custom shaped logo spin in place although it starts to spin around an axis that is off camera. My instructor at school did the exact same process that I've been doing on her computer, and it worked flawlessly which leads me to believe there is a snap, pin, or setting that my computer has turned on/off. I have found the 'Edit Pins' option in the View tab but I have not been able to select it as it is grayed out. Is that where the answer to my problem is? If not then where? The object that i am trying to rotate in this situation will move from the origin point whenever i try to apply a transformation of any kind, such as rotating, scaling, and moving.
There is a similar problem that i have found on this forum, Photoshop CC 2014: 3D Scene Position Missing - Video Animation Timeline is the title of it although it has not been answered. This question was posted about the same time of my problems started as well. After a good amount of hours I haven't found anything close to an answer.I don't do 3D animations, but Seb Zaremba said it worked in the former Photoshop CC. You can have both version installed on your computer. Go to the Creative Cloud app and Apps>Filter & version>previous versions. There you will find the installer for CC (2013). Give it a try.

Photoshop CC 2014 freezes when I render video
Hi,
I'm using Photoshop CC 2014 trial to do short frame animations. The problem is that when I try to export (export -> render video) Photoshop freezes completely and I have to force quit. My computer also restarted by itself one time. Someone is experiencing the same problem?

Angelica.I am using Photoshop CC 64 bit on a Windows 8.1 machine (I7-3820, 32 gig RAM) and am constantly getting problems rendering videos.
i) click on render video and just get spinning wheel
II)click on render video progress bar opens gets 90% of way then hangs.
III) click on render video and video render window opens, set parameters, click go and spinning wheel
iv)click on render video and video render window opens, set parameters, click go and success
All this with exactly the same original and edits.
I have looked at what is happening in Task Manager and consistently in cases i to iii Photoshop is using about 12% of CPU but importantly is using only one of the 8 processors (4 real, 4 hyper) available. When it is rendering properly (case iv) all 8 cores are in use. This indicates to me that the program is locked in an endless loop of some sort, the only way out is to kill the Photoshop process.
My work round is to do all my edits, save everything then keep attempting to render until I get success. -
Does rendering a 3D scene in PS CS6 use the GPU?
The title says it all.
When I render a 3D scene in Photoshop CS6, is the GPU of my system of any help?
Whenever I render any 3D scene in PS, I have noticed that the GPU stays idle, it does nothing, everything seems to be done by the CPU. Is it supposed to be this way?
OpenGL _is_ correctly enabled in PS and I have just one video card in my system (GTX660 Ti 3GB).
Thanks.I'm not totally sure on this, but I think the rendering uses CPU as it has to calculate all the raytrace elements, which may be beyond the ability of the GPU. Plus once you rendered, you can save the file and it will keep the rendered state until you make a change, so that sounds like the CPU saving file info to disk. The GPU is mainly for updating the display quickly and giving you a close representation of what you'll be getting, like light and shadow movement.

Error in compiling Photoshop CC 2014 sample project
Hi,
I am trying to compile SDK sample project "outbound". but it is showing errors, as "Parse Issue: Unknown type name 'DialogPtr' " in DialogUtilities.h .
DialogUtilities.h file is in "Adobe Photoshop CC 2014:photoshopsdk:pluginsdk:samplecode:common:includes".
even if I add this path in project settings it still shows the errors.
how can I make this work?
I am using Photoshop CC 2014 and Xcode version is 4.6.3 (4H1503)
If you have any idea regarding project settings then please let me know.

The DialogUtilities.h for mac do not work. They are the old Carbon API's. See the Dissolve example for an Objective-C UI.
I would comment out the DialogUtilities.h include and other associated headers for Carbon UI. Some Carbon calls still work that are unrelated to UI. -
I get the same error when trying the same thing with the default styles, so it's not the file.
So, if you click on one on of the layer style sets already on the list, such as Text Effects 2, you get the same message?
Which version of mac os x are you using?
Did you upgrade your mac os with photoshop cc 2014 already installed?
Do you have the lastest version of photoshop cc 2014, which should be 2014.2.1
(listed at the top of Help>System Info from within photoshop)
Do you see the same layer styles as shown above on your list?
Have you moved/copied any plugins from an earlier version of photoshop to the photoshop cc 2014 plugins folder?
The layer styles shown on the list above are the styles that ship with cc 2014 and should be in
/Applications/Adobe Photoshop CC 2014/Presets/Styles
(the mac applications folder where all the other mac applications are installed)
You might try resetting the preferences, but you might need to uninstall photoshop cc 2014 and then reinstall.
(don't drag the cc 2014 to the trash, but use the Uninstall Adobe Photoshop CC 2014 in the photoshop cc 2014 application folder)
To reset the preferences
Press and hold down the Shift+Command+Option keys while starting photoshop cc 2014
Keep holding the keys down until you get a dialog asking if you want to delete the adobe photoshop settings file
Press Yes -
File associations in bridge for photoshop cc (2014)
I have just installed Photoshop cc (2014), but Bridge still opens Photoshop cc.
Do I have to change the file associations in Bridge manually or is there a shortcut?Ha, you're lucky! Mine changed the default to Illustrator as the only choice unless you browse to the application exe for some reason!
