Rendering video issue, NEED HELP BAD
I downloaded after effects CS4 and my composition settings is 600x400, square pixels, 29.97fps.
I rendered the video with these settings:
Photo JPEG
Million Colors
29.97 FPS
BEST quality
well the rendered video keeps on skipping as soon as it hits the first keyframe, it starts to skip throughout the whole video. I tried testing that in cs3 using the exact settings and it played smoothly.
Is it the FPS causing it to skip?

What are you saying by "skipping"? During playback in QT or when re-importing? In both cases you would only see discrete frames which should not flicker/ jump/ skip. Only RAM previews occasionally would, due to the timebase correction and possible mixing of framerates in combination with your screen refresh. If you are within AE, you may wish to check your OpenGL settings. For QT player the results should be identical. The only thing I can think of otherwise, is the frames not being stored correctly in the first place, which usually is a matter of your system choking when using multiprocessing, so turn it off or adjust the settings...

K8T Master1-FAR issues, need help badly!!
Hey guys been searching through the posts but cant find anything that specifically relates to my problem so though I would see if anyone has any suggestions before i take my mobo back.
Basically i just went out and bought an entire new system because i had cash to spare and for once wanted a somewhat decent comp so i bought:
athlon fx
msi k8t master1-far mobo
1gig of eff ddr 400 ram
gf fx5900 ultra
sb audigy 2 zs
2 x 120gig sata h/ds (running on raid0)
400w psu
So i put everything together, posted fine, looked like everything was going smoothly, however i noticed the onboard lan con didnt light up, my router didnt register a new connection and the network controller didnt come up in the list of hardware on the dos screen right after the bios/post screen.
So once I installed windows xp (have since installed 32 and 64 bit version no difference) found that it just cannot find any lan device at all, so i assumed the onboard lan was just faulty, no biggie i can just buy a new card for 20 bux, and everytime i tried to install any driver for my sb card it would get a page fault error and blue screen, which i didnt take much notice of since i saw so many posts with issues with sb cards and msi boards, so was just going to whack it into a new pci slot.
If you are still with me sorry about the long ended post but i will try and get to the problem now.
So i went out got a new nic, whacked it in, once again didnt see it AT ALL yet my router saw a new con and the green led lit up so it has power, i also put in my tv capture card which was detected by hardware but when installing the drivers just kept coming up with errors and would not start the device. At this point i thought it was xp32 issues so i installed xp64, exact same probs, but this time when i try to install sb drivers it says cannot detect any sb card installed. This leads me to believe that my board has a faulty pci bus or controller since everything on it seems to be gone to regardless of which pci slot.
So being rather frustrated i played with a lot of bios settings and even put the bus speed to 220mhz which ran the chip @ 4ghz according to winxp and it did detect the 3rd party nic but was so unstable i couldnt use windows at all. Also the entire time i have been running in 64 bit mode with the ram using banks 1 & 3 when i tried doing dual chan, banks 1 & 2, comp would not post at all unless i took out my 3rd party nic and the tv capture card, leaving only the sb audigy card in. yet i still could not get the sb card to run nor the onboard lan.
So as it stands im at a total loss to what exactly is the problem, if i am totally forgetting something or if my board is just bung i have no idea but if anyone has any suggestions i would be most appreciative, thanks.

the camera firmware is bad, so the image quality is truely terrible.. play with mirror to see.. it may be fixed in a future firmware release (it *IS* better than it was.. the firmware last year had a line through the picture!) -

I need help badly with my ibook and palm pilot

I also have a Palm handheld. I use iCal and Address Book more than Entourage. This is what I did:
At first, I tried to adapt to Palm Desktop. I didn't like it, so I looked for the *iSync Conduit*. I found it and installed it. Then, I ignored the Palm desktop software (except the HotSync utility) and have used iSync with iCal and Address Book since.
I know that doesn't answer the question about switching from Entourage, but Desktop isn't that great either. iSync is what I recommend.

Portege M900 cannot detect/read from DVD drive - Need help badly!
I have this problem with Portege M900. My laptop cannot read from the DVD drive.

have you tried quiting the app, ie removing it from the multitasking bar also, and then retrying it? Failing that, flick the ipad into airplane mode for a minute, then flick it back, wait for your wifi to connect then try again.

Spry Menu Bar issue, NEED HELP...???
Here is the coding for a menu bar that i created with CS3, for some reason i am having an issue when i open the web page in IE, on firefox and safari it looks fine, the menu drops down to sub menu's fine, but for some reason when i open it in IE, the submenu's show on the very top of the page rather than right below the menu itself, please check my coding and see if there is an issue???

Stuttering flv playback issue- need help asap
We need help asap. Have a project is due to deliver today (5/14).
We have a video to go on a dvd-rom, live action with Motion Graphics behind.
When output is done thru Projector the Motion Graphics stutter as they scroll.
Here is more technical info:
Stuttering flv playback issue:
Prores 422 timeline 29.97fps 1280x720 output from fcp using current settings.
Mov file is approx 7gb, plays relatively smooth on a mac pro with no raid.
Frame by frame analysis shows all frames are present with no jumps tears or skips.
Tried several output paths, programs and settings to create a smooth flv file to no avail.
We adjusted data rates from 2k, 3.5k, 4k and 8k, no luck
We adjusted keyframe rates from low to all frames, no luck.
We tried cs3 flash encoder, cs5 media encoder, squeeze ect, same results.
Playback in the flash projector seems to choke slightly no matter what we do.
Have also posted in the Director Forum.
Any help much appreciated!Here are a few ideas off the top of my head:
Try playing the file using a different xtra, sometimes different ones will work better. If you have Director 11.5, there is a native flv playback xtra.
You can build a player easily in Flash using the flvPlayback component, then bring that into Director as a swf.
Once you have the video in Director, try making the member Direct To Stage (DTS). If it is already DTS, try making it not DTS.
Make sure the video is not transparent, and nothing in Director overlaps the video... in fact, when the video is playing, nothing should be moving at all, and try to keep the amount of code that is running to a minimum.
Try lowering your video's data rate further or try using a different codec.
Using VBR (Variable Bit Rate) compression often makes the video appear to play smoother.
Try compressing the flv with different software. FFMpeg, for example, is free and does a very good job, often better than the Flash Video Encoder that comes with Flash/Creative Suite. -
Concurrent crystal license timeout Issue, need help.

My company is using crystal enterprise 10 with 18 concurrent user license.
However, we often hit out of crystal license issues.
Does time to wait for exporting crystal reports to excel/pdf takes up licenses?
Does time to wait for crystal report to be printed or viewed on the web browser takes up licenses?
We all know that user sessions take up user licenses. 1 user login take up 1 license.
Does crystal pruning job takes up user licenses too?

Support on Cystal Enterprise 10 has expired. Make sure that your users are actually logging off and not just closing their browser.
One user can take up multiple licenses by not logging off or opening multiple browsers to view multiple reports. Scheduled jobs that are running do not take up license, but a user veiwing a historical instance does take up a license.
In your metrics tab in the Cyrsatl Management Console -> Servers-> cms you should be able to see the active number of sessions- system connections are backend connections between the servers and these do not take up any licenses.

T400 LCD dim issue - Need help!!
I'm having a LCD dim issue with a T400. Have changed the LCD panel, LCD cable and systemboard but still having same issue. If i removed the lcd card, then the display is working fine. I've tested the lcd card in another working unit and it's working as well (means the lcd card is working). I use a working lcd card and plug into this T400 but LCD still dim.
I've try to switch the problematic lcd cable and lcd panel to a working systemboard and it kills the systemboard. Have try to switch a few things but still unable to find the root cause. Urgently need help on this. Any advice will be appreciated.

i suggest uninstalling your current graphic card driver, let windows install its own generic drivers and see if that makes any difference
