REP-1814 when running delimited over web

Hi,
I have a report that runs fine over the web when:
Destination Format is HTML
Destination Format is PDF
Destination Format is delimited with headers turned on.
As soon as I use the flag delimited_hdr=no (which of course is what I want), I get error:
REP-1814: Report cannot be formatted. Object 'vertically' can never fit within 'F_Q1_TARIFF_AREA'.
Any thoughts as to why I only get this error when trying to run the report with delimited_hdr=no and suggestions to a resolution.
Thanks.
Darren.

I didn't precise that reports failed to be executed with desformat=delimited but succeded with desformat=pdf.
Why Reports server on linux is unable to generate a full text report but can generate a pdf report ?

  • REP-1814 when saving a report

I have a report, generated with Oracle Reports 6i, that when I generate it and view it in the previewer, it is generated without any problems and I am able to see the report.
When I tried to save it by going to File -> Generate to File -> PDF, I am getting the error message REP-1814: Report Cannot be formatted. Object 'vertically' can never fit within 'B_1'.
Does anyone have an idea of what's going on? Thanks.

    Hi Mihn,
    Thanks for your reply.
Actually, I was just able to solve this issue. All I did was to add a printer to the user's desktop. After doing that, the user can now save the report as any format she wants.

  • Failed to accept user input when run report on Web

I've testing a report with one input parameter. It's a date with default current date. It is done by using SQL 'select sysdate from dual;' has been added to before form trigger. User is allowed to input any date other than the default sysdate before submitting the report. The report works fine when run in report builder, but it's failed to accepted user input date when called through web browser. The report still uses the current date as SQL parameter rather than user input date.
Can anyone help me to fix this bug?
The report is develped by Oracle 9i and is saved and run in .rdf format.

I created a report with a user defined parameter p_date of DATE type. In the layout model, I created a field with p_date as data source. In the before form trigger, I put
    'select sysdate into :p_date from dual;
I run the report through rwservlet:
    http://host:port/reports/rwservlet?report=datetest.rdf&destype=cache&desformat=html&userid=scott/tiger@orcl&paramform=yes
In the html parameter form, I change the date from default current date to a future date and that date is shown in the final report.
So I can't reproduce the bug.
One thing you can try it to turn on reports server trace file, see what command line is sent to reports server when you submitting the parameter form.
    Thanks,
    -Shaun

  • ODBC error when running query on WEBI XI R2

    Hi all,
I have a newly installed XIR2 on Win 2003 (32-bit), I created a simple Universe pointing to MSSQL 2005. I encountered the error below when running a query from WEBI:
Database Error: [Microsoft] [ODBC Driver Manager] Data source name not found and no default driver specified. Error: WIS 10901
    Any ideas? Thanks!
    Cheers,
    Arms

    Hi Armstrong,
If you are using an ODBC connection, make sure the connection is defined exactly the same on the server as it defined on your computer... With SQL you can try to create an OLE DB connection, then when you export the universe, the connection will still work... ODBC connections need to be created on all machines if you plan to use the desktop tools.
    Hope this helps

  • REP-0108 when running report

I have the report runtime installed and working, but when I try to run a report I get the REP-0108, "File not found" error. No matter which report I try to run it complains about the same file. The file it can't find is "rwbdexpq.res". What are the .RES files and why can't the runtime find it? If we do a developer installation we don't get this problem. Even after this error, the report still runs.

The .res files are the resource files that you can change via Oracle Terminal to set key mappings.
If a user is not finding the file when running a report, then find where they are in the ORACLE_HOME for the install where you can run reports, and then copy those files to the same directory on the PC's that cannot run the reports. I think the directory is something like ORACLE_HOME/report60/admin/resource/US, but a file find will tell you for sure.

  • REP-1352 when running web reports in character mode on linux server

    Hi
After migration from 6i to 10g we have problems when we run reports in character mode on a linux (Red Hat Enterprise 4) application server (10.1.2.0.2).
The error REP-1352 occurs with any NLS_LANG or report's font setup. Original report's font is Courier New (Occidental) and NLS_LANG=FRENCH_FRANCE.WE8ISO8859P1.
I created a new simple report in character mode with font Courier New and it is generated successfully.
Witch migration step could I apply to avoid this error ?
    Thanks in advance.

  • REP-1247 when running Report

    Hi,
I am trying to run reports in Application Server 10.1.2.0.2. When I try to run any report using the 'rdf', I get the error " Terminated with error: <br>REP-771: There exist uncompiled program unit(s). REP-1247: Report contains uncompiled PL/SQL "
The problem occurs if I first try to run a report after rebooting the reports server. But the problem disappears if I run the report again. Running the same reports in Oracle 6i works always fine.
Could someone help me solve this issue.
    Regards,
    Xosu

    Hi,
I searched in internal knowledge database but could not find any problem like yours which is very generic.
There were some specific issues which occurred for specific type of reports, but in your case it happens for all rep files with PUs.
    1) Is it occurring for all reports or some specific types of report ?.
    2) Is there an attached library (.pll file) to your report ? If yes , then its location (.pll file's location) should be in REPORTS_PATH env variable (in registry for windows, env variable for unix)
    3) Silly suggestion, but to make sure, there should be an active DB connection
Other than this I suggest you to get in touch with oracle support to handle this issue (if you have a support contract)

  • Getting BEFOREREPORTTRIGGER error when running report on web

    Hi,
I have developed a report which uses lexicals in main query. In lexicals I apply filters (if any) which come as parameters from the GUI via a dbase table. When report is run locally using "Run Paper Layout" option it works as desired -- with or without filters.
When report is run via GUI it runs fine when no filters are applied. Problem comes when any of the filter is applied in any one of the cases selected from the GUI.
And I get the following errors.
REP-1419: Please contact the Systems Administrator.
    REP-1419: 'beforereport': PL/SQL program aborted.
when I go and check the beforereport trigger it does not show any errors when report is run within report builder.
    Any suggestions would be appreciated
    Thanks in advance

Problem comes when any of the filter is applied in any one of the cases selected from the GUI.Do you mean that the problems only shows when you run the report in your browser via 9iAS?
    Which version are you using?
Can you post the before report trigger?

    Hi,
Perhaps by changing your infoview Viewer preferences?
or check out 1575886 - No SAP Prompt Screen in InfoView when viewing a rport based off multiple SAP data source
    it says:
    Resolution
To display the SAP prompt screen in InfoView for reports that are based off different SAP data source, enable the option: SAP.style.prompt.enabled, in the web.xml file of the web application. To enable the option:
On your BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 3.1 server, go to the following folder:
    C:\Program Files\Business Objects\Tomcat55\webapps\PartnerPlatformService\WEB-INF
Note: The beginning of the path may be different if you have chosen to install the product on a different drive or folder.
Make a backup copy of the file: web.xml
Edit the file: web.xml and add the following code:
       <context-param>
            <param-name>SAP.style.prompt.enabled</param-name>
            <param-value>true</param-value>
        </context-param>
Note: You may already have the above code in the web.xml file. If it is present, it is by default commented out by being surrounded by the tags <!--  -->  If it's the case, then you simply have to remove the tags that comment out the code.
    Save the change.
Restart the web application server ( Tomcat by default )

  • Error when running SQL over DB2/400 database

    Folks,
I'm trying to execute an SQL statement which works well on DB2/400 but doesn't like it in Java embedded SQL.
    The statement looks like this...
    select rrn(a) from BLMINTF1 a where RDTUSC = 050106 or RDTADC = 050106 or RDTBPC = 050106 or RDTCDC = 050106 or RDTE1C = 050106

Any help will be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.

(Oops, ignore the above, a missing /code tag ate most of my post)
    So does this work:
    select 42 from BLMINTF1 a where RDTUSC = 050106 or RDTADC = 050106 or RDTBPC = 050106 or RDTCDC = 050106 or RDTE1C = 050106
There is a chance that the driver for some odd reason doesn't understand a particular SQL function. That's less likely than a simple typo though. Usually JDBC drivers don't care about the SQL they execute, they just pass it to the server. Command line SQL tools may have extra commands, but rarely functions like that.
I'd still print out the SQL string just before execution. I've seen things like this often enough:
        String s =
            "select x from foo" +
"where x = 1";Note the lack of space between "foo" and "where", resulting in "foowhere".
