  • Keyboard fault on HP Mini 210 1004

The Managing Director of our company recently bought himself a Mini 210 1004 which has developed a strange keyboard fault (or at least I assume it's a hardware fault).  Two keys are playing up and give the following results when pressed.
p displays p but moves the insertion point in front of the letter
shift p (P) displays P but highlights the letter so the next letter typed overwrites it.
[ displays [ but moves the insertion point to the beginning of the line
    shift [ ({) displays { but highlights all characters from the start of the line up to {
    All other keys work fine.
Should he be taking it back under warranty?

  • Replacing keyboard on hp mini 210-4150nr

Trying to remove the keyboard on a hp mini 210-4150nr, but cant get the keyboard to pop out. I downloaded the pdf manual and took out the two screws with the keyboard picture, removed the hard drive, and pushed on the "keyboard relese area", but all it did was slightly bow out. It still feals like something is srewed into the keyboard. I even tried removing all of the screws on the bottom edge of the case but that didn't make any difference. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

  • Mini 210 touchpad consistently causes mouse to fly off to the side, disrupting typing on keyboard

I have had several generations of HP Minis.  In fact, I have a mini 210-2100.
However, I purchased a Mini 210-3000, and whenever I type on it, the touchpad always causes the mouse to fly off to the side disrupting typing.  I've already disabled, the extra sensitivity on the mouse settings in the control panel, and that seemed to mitigate the problem somewhat.
However, the problem persists.  I'm wondering if anyone else has figured out how to resolve this issue.  I'm really regretting having purchased this computer.

I have kmsconvt installed and running(i like it :-) ) instead getty and maybe that is proplem since all TTY's behave bad after x is running. whit bad I mean that input from one tty leaks to another, and image does also leak. I gota try if swithing back to  getty and see if it helps.
and as wiki tells kmscon uses kms(kernel mode set ) which doesn't have good reputation whit closed source Nvidia(or AMD) drivers
    https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/KMSCON
Starting X from getty seems to work just nice, so I asume it is KMSCON bug.
I reported bug on KMSCON git hub page: https://github.com/dvdhrm/kmscon/issues/105

  • Brightness doesn't work in Windows 7 on Mini 210 HD

    Hi,
I've bought a Mini 210 HD a month or two ago, and i promptly removed XP to put Windows 7 Ultimate (32-bit) on it. This has worked more or less OK, but ever since upgrading i have been unable to use the brightness functions of the lap-top in any way. Not only can i not adjust the brightness with the hot keys, Windows will not dim the screen when i remove it from the mains or leave it to idle, and although i can move the brightness slider in the Power Options control panel, it has no effect. (Currently it is on the lowest setting in Windows, but the hardware is still on maximum brightness.)
I have re-installed the Intel chip-set drivers and the HP keyboard drivers a half-dozen times, these don't seem to be the problem. There is also nothing relevant listed in Windows Update, and there are no problem devices listed in Device Manager.
Is there anything i can do about this?
    configuration:
    HP Mini 210 HD
    Windows 7 Ultimate (32-bit)
    Intel GMA 3150 driver 8.14.10.1972
    Microsoft x86 ACPI driver 6.1.7600.16385

Alrighty, Here ya go! I had this problem also. Got my HP mini 210HD and put Windows 7 on it right away. Brightness wouldn't change, function keys didn't work, brightness slider did nothing.
    Solution:
Make sure you download the graphics drivers from HP's website, not Intel's. The brightness setting won't work with the Intel graphics drivers.
Get "Intel Mobile Graphics Driver for Microsoft Windows 7" from HP's website.
    I have Windows 7 32bit, so I downloaded this: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=ob-78614-1&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&...
This should work for you Ohkine.

Hi ariesdapogi, and welcome to the HP Support Forums!
I understand that you need to replace you keyboard on your HP Mini 110-3500 CTO PC. I will try my best to guide you with this. In the HP Mini 110 Compaq Mini CQ10 Maintenance and Service Guide are the replacement spare part numbers on page 28. These parts have been tested by HP and are the only compatible ones that they support.
I hope this information helps. Let me know how it goes.

  • Hp mini 210 in raspberry plaid

I recently came across this netbook and love the color of it. I have been looking for a netbook for school to type on, browse the Internet and listen to music. When I found this one I tried to buy it but no place has them online. Your main site has a review of one and a button saying buy now, I clicked on it and it just takes me back to the main screen. I didn't know if this was a limited time netbook or if they are in high demand. I would really like to buy this one, I hope you can help.

    I'll share a few thoughts...
have you tried out a netbook?  I recommend you visit the store and try one out before putting your money down.
is the screen big enough?  pop up advertisements just fill up the screen to make it nearly impossible to use.
is the keyboard big enough?  How useable is the trackpad?
is it fast enough?  5 to 10 minutes to boot up?
my netbook quickly became a door stop until I installed Ubuntu (Linix) on it
have you considered a tablet with a bluetooth keyboard?  I think you'll be happier with this combination

  • Missing keys from Mini 210-1155DX

I just bought a Mini 210-1155DX. So where are the Home, End, Pg Up and Pg Dn keys? The specs say it has a 102 key standard keyboard.

Folks, Mini 210-1000 Series supports Home, End, PgUp and PgDn, it is just not been labeled...If it not working I would suggest Updating the BIOS to F.11 from here and check...

  • New mac mini and wireless keyboard

how do I set up a new mac mini and wireless keyboard at the same time?

Since the Mac Mini does not come with a Monitor, Keyboard or Mouse those are needed when setting up a Mac Mini. I don't know what brand wireless KB you have or if that even matters.
I have an Apple wireless keyboard (bluetooth), Apple magic trackpad (bluetooth), and Dell DVI monitor. When I initially booted my new Mac Mini, the screen showed it searching for bluetooth devices. It found the keyboard first and then a few seconds later, the mouse. So, I had all devices to finish setup of the Mini.

  • HP Mini 210-4000 Blue Screen of Death PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA error

I've been up and down the Forums here with no specific luck, unfortunately, so I'm going to ask even if this has been queried and solved in another part of the site which I may have missed.
I am trying to sort out a friend's HP Mini Notebook, model HP Mini 210-4125sa. The machine started up well enough until a week ago, when it suddenly decided to blue screen.
The specific error message text displayed within the BSOD reads as follows:
    PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA
    TECHNICAL INFORMATION:
    *** STOP: 0x00000050 (0x87E40000, 0x00000000, 0x92442B13, 0x00000000)
I can not boot past the Windows 7 loading screen - the load bar makes it two fifths up and that's it.
I had thought to try and recover the operating system, if at all possible, from what is apparently a recovery partition that is created on the HD ( i haven't worked with these machines before unfortunately), although i cannot figure how to get at this partition before the error hits.
Also, having attempted to download a piece of software from the HP USB Recovery Flash Disk Utility, i realise that it seems necessary to actually use this from the notebook itself, which is not possible.
Having started running the various onboard tests from the BIOS menu, the Hard Disk Test has just apparently failed (specifically the Hard Disk Optimized DST portion of the test), with failure ID GGBXXV-66A75U-MFPX0J-61VV03 (i'm not certain if this information is of value but am including it nonetheless).HP have not unfortunately been an awful lot of help as they wil only offer a one-off technician support call for forty quid, or to take the notebook away for repair, the cost of which is practically as much as the original cost of the hardware. I would of course prefer to try and sort this out myself but have hit a bit of a wall at the moment. Any suggestions would be fantastic, at this point.
    This question was solved.

That hardware test for the hard disk is a dead giveaway of a failed item. A failed hard disk  is a show stopper.
Hard Disk Optimized DST portion of the test), with failure ID GGBXXV-66A75U-MFPX0J-61VV03 (i'm not certain if this information is of value but am including it nonetheless) It is important information.
A corrupted NTFS volume (the hard disk) can also generate the " PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA error"  stop message.

  • Is damaged Mini 210 battery usable?

My HP Mini 210-1032CL slid from the case and fell two feet onto a padded carpet -- which was too much.
The battery popped half out and was locked in on one side. I had to force it back in to unlock it.
In the process it scraped the plastic off two of the plastic covered brass fittings/prongs on the battery that mesh between their uncoated/bare brass counterparts in the netbook.
My question is: is it possible to still use it? Obviously the electricity flowed through the battery's plastic covered prongs and into the bare-brass ones in the netbook. But would a bare-brass-to-bare-brass connection damage the netbook?
Right now, the $167 for a new one from HP is not do-able. Not for a good while.

The risk is your decision.  The replacement battery is only $99.99 USD when bought from HP.

  • WIN 7 Home Premium and a HP mini 210-1000!

Have mini 210-1000, refurb, came with a WIN 7 Starter, never did check and record the product key that came with...ERROR!
    1.  Went on line 12 days ago and purchased WIN 7 Home premium.  Have spend HOURS on line with MS techs trying to get it to install.  Came here before I waste any more time.
This machine has 1G RAM - CAN it install WIN 7 Home premium?
    2.  Since the last attempted install (MS using PowerISO Virtual Drive Manager (free download ver.), and which was UNsuccessful, my HP and MS now tell me that my WIN 7 Starter is 'not genuine' and they give me several options to obtain the product key.
The product key in control panel/status is not EVEN in the correct format and starts with 2 (unacceptable) zeros...
IF this machine was refurbed by HP or Contractor, does HP have a usable product key to return me to normal operation?  Am having trouble re-reaching the MS tech, I believe HE's out of ideas...
ANYone know a guru ?  Am not quite ready to invest  $$$ to fix a mess that MS started - and it's a long, long story...which takes me back to the original question:  am I asking my Notebook to install WIN 7 Home Premium when it's not able??
Thank you for any help you can provide!

    Hi Darkfirepr,
Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome. I have read your thread on your HP Mini 210-1010NR and start up issues. Here is a link to troubleshoot the HP Mini. Before starting please disconnect all connected devices and cables such as Personal Media Drives, USB drives, printers, and faxes. Remove media from internal drives, and remove any recently added internal hardware.
