Report format issue  in obiee 11g  send  through Agent

Hi,
I have scheduled the agent to send the report to IBM Lotus notes. I need to send the report to users in text format and not an attachement.
The report not comming as it is,the column width is getting srinked.I noticed CSS not applying in Lotus notes.
How can i apply css to lotus notes. can anyone please suggest..

Try by setting view properties like Table or Pivot table if this is not working then attach the report to a page and set the section properties and see how it works.
If this is not working then Notes might have trimming it ;)

  • Report Links issue in obiee 11g

    hi all,
    we are using obiee 11.1.1.5 version. we are facing issue with report links. when there is no data in the dashboard, the dashboard is displaying only Refresh button, it is not displaying Export and Print(even though we customized the report links to display Refresh, Export, Print). when there is data in the dashboard it is displaying Refresh, Export and Print as expected. Is this product limitation or a bug in obiee.

  • XI R2 To 3.1 Sp2 migration and report format issues

    Hello,
    is there a way to fix or troubleshoot report format issues after migrating to 3.1?
    We have a heavy report that the format (the way the report looks) is very important. In crytal Reports 2008 sp2 the format is OK.
    But from BOE CMC or from url reporting the report format have problems.

    Hi Ruhver,
    Crystal Report documents are heavily dependant on the printer driver for formatting.  If you design the report using a specific default driver than it will be dependant on that printer driver for formatting.  When you publish it to Enterprise, the same printer driver may not exist so the report will be re-formated to fit the default driver on the server, or if no driver exists, it will use an internal method to format the report. 
    Try this as a test.
    1) Open your report in the CR 2008 designer.
    2) Click on the File/Page Setup. 
    3) Select the "No Printer" option.  This tells the report to use this internal method to format the report
    4) Save this document as "Title - No Printer"
    5) Export it to Enterprise
    6) Test this report again.  Formatting should be identical in BOE vs CR.
    Keep in mind that when you change the driver in step 3, the report in the designer will re-format.  You may need to tweak the report again in order for the formatting to be as desired.
    Test this out and if you require further assistance with this, I would suggest opening a message.  This is a common issue and a support engineer could likely help you with this pretty easily.

  • Drill through to another report with bins in OBIEE 11g

    Hi Everyone,
    We have a specific scenario that is as follows:
    Bar chart with 3 bars: '0-30', '31-60' and 'other'
    these bars repsent the number of people who are in that age bucket.
    This was accomplished by taking the peron's Age (a dimension with an age column) and using the 'bin' option in obiee 11g answers.
    When the user clicks on one of the bins in the bar chart (e.g. 0-30), it should navigate to another report which contains details (a table) of ONLY the people who are in that age bucket.
    In order do this I created the same 'age bucket' in the drilll through report and set the field as prompted.
    This works in OBIEE 10g but in OBIEE 11g when I click the 'bin' (e.g. 0-30) on the top report, it navigates to the other report via action link and displays ALL of the people, not just the people in the bucket 0-30.
    Can anyone advise?
    P.s. if I remove the bin for the age bucket, and display the actual age, the drill down works fine. I think the issue is specific to the bin feature. I am using OBIEE 11.1.1.6.4

  • Data level Security issue in obiee 11g

    We are trying to implement data level security, let me explain the issue
    The requirement is, we have 7 schools and each school has one principle , there will be a Superdintent who has 3 schools under him. so now when each principle logs in to dashboard we have a prompt for school i.e Name of school in that prompt he should see only his school and even the data of that school only which are assigned to him, now when Superdintent logs in he should see all 3 schools in the prompt and data. I have gone through this link (http://www.rittmanmead.com/2012/03/obiee-11g-security-week-row-level-security/) but could not achieve.
    We are able to achieve by writing SQL in BMM layer ( LTS Table) so where ever the table is used in dashboards the security is being applied and we are able to see what we want. We want to achieve this by application role, But when we are creating session variables and applying on Application Role its not working. We want to achieve this by using Application role because suppose in other dashboards when the table is not used or pulled in, it will not work.But if we do it using application role its applies to all dashboards and data is resticted. so that when principle or Superdintent logs in automatically its restricts the data.
    Below is the SQL which we used in BMM LTS, its working fine. But when the same SQL is applied in Application Role it's not working.
    SQL used in session variable -

  • Agent Issue In Obiee 11g

    In OBIEE 11G, how to send automatically one email for different level users for having a look different data by agent?
    For example:
    One report architeture:

    One Level can have a look at data:

    eg. today is 02-DEC-2011 if i schedule the report it should run for 30-NOV-2011.  iam trying in both BW qyuery and CUBE im not getting how to give date format in

  • Exporting Issue in OBIEE 11g

    Hi,
    I am having an issue in exporting a huge amount of data in OBIEE 11g, what happens is : I am able to export the Whole table data which is around 6000 Records, but when I open Excel Sheet the Alignment of the report is ruined after Record number 1890.
    I tried this from different browsers and the same result appeared.
    can anyone help me with that ?

  • Formatting Totals in OBIEE 11g

    Hi,
    we have a requirement to format the totals of a table in obiee 11g.
    When I format the totals, the formatting selections I made is not applied for all the entire totals section.
    If the table has more than one dimension values in it, the formatting changes on Totals section is applied only for the first cell in the section.
    However, the formatting changes of Totals section are fine for the measures added.

    In the screenshot, I expect the cell under Month dimension in the Totals row to have grey color as the back ground.

    I have installed OBIEE 11g and it was working fine but today when i have started the BI services its showed this error

    Because of the above error web login Page (http://masood:9704/analytics/saw.dll?bieehome&startPage=1) is not displayed and its showed an error below
    Error 500--Internal Server Error
    From RFC 2068 Hypertext Transfer Protocol -- HTTP/1.1:
    *10.5.1 500 Internal Server Error*
    The server encountered an unexpected condition which prevented it from fulfilling the request.
    But the Console admin Page (http://masood:7001/console/login/LoginForm.jsp) and Map viewer admin Page (http://masood.:9704/mapviewer) working fine.
    Only the sample reports and Dashboards Area are not displayed. I have tried to find out the solution of this issue but i am not getting the right solution.

    I experienced the same problem, the exact errors you got. After much digging, i discovered that my database was not registering with the listener, so i could not connect to it from SQLDeveloper and other tools. After spending much time on the internet trying to solve the error "*ora-12154 tns could not resolve the connect identifier specified*" which was what SQLDeveloper was returning, the problem still persisted.
    A colleague of mine then gave told me to try and force my database to register with the correct listener from command line with these commands:
    net start OracleServiceDB1
    C:\oracle\product\11.2.0\dbhome_1\BIN\oradim.exe -startup -SID DB1 -usrpwd password -pfile C:\oracle\admin\DB1\pfile\init.ora
    It turned out that my windows events were full, so i had to clear all events and increased the log size and made sure they are overwritten as needed. And alas, everything was fine again!!!
    What a nightmare it was - or may be it was Windows to blame!!! I hope this helps somebody out there sometime.
    Obviously, you need to change the paths and other parameters to suite your system. OracleServiceDB1 is the name of my service and DB1 is the name of my database. By the way , i ran it on a Windows XP machine.

  • Parent Child Hierarchy Issue in OBIEE 11g

    Hi All,
    I am in OBIEE 11G v6. I have a sales fact table where the grain is one sale. So I have one row for every sale done.
    Now I have a ragged employee hierarchy like this with David at the root node.
    David >>Richard>>Sean
    David >>James
    Also, I have a role dimension which gives me what role each employee has performed on a sale. Only one employee can be associated with one sale. This is the way Roles have been asssigned
    David = Manager
    Richard = Off1
    Sean = Off2
    James = Off2
    Both Sean and James can have same Roles. Now I have created a parent child hierarchy for my employee dimension and the closure table. Defined the member key, ancestor key relationship in the parent child setting etc.
    Now in the report when I pull the parent child hierarchy and the sales_amount in the report, it comes out perfect with all the ragged hierarchy resolved. But the issue comes when I try to limit the report on Role = Off2. It gives me an error saying " The layout of this view combined with the data, selection , drills resulted in no data. Undo drill and view prompt values". Basically what i want is to be able to select any role type and then my hierarchy should be adjusted to show me that data. Like when I select Off2, I want to see David at the Top level and Sean and James under him because they are both Off 2 and David is their manager.
    Is that possbile? Also, am I getting this error because when I select Off2 though it gets Sean and James but since David is not Off2, I don't get the data?
    I hope I was able to explain the issue, any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

    So basically this means that if I build a parent child hierarchy on table A having the stucture like
    --David (Manager)
    -----James (Off1)
    --------Bill (Off2)
    and in my sales fact table for let's say today, I have only rows for Bill (Off2) because he is the only officer who did the sales today. Now when I will join my fact table to parent child hierarchy table A I will NOT get any data ? because there is no James who is the parent of Bill. So obiee need to have parent pulled off in the data (ANCESTOR) to be able to roll up the child.(IS_LEAF = 1)
    I testes this and if my data only contains only rows for Bill (or I limit on ROLE = Off2) then it won't show the hierarchy. The query which OBIEE fires is to look for either ANCESTOR_KEY = NULL OR (DISTANCE = 1 AND ANCESTOR KEY IN (Bill). Therefore it doesn't I am wondering then what is the use of builiding the parent child hierarchy when we need to pull in all the ancestors (like in this case James for bill and David for james) because in real scenarios there can be cases wherein we would want to filter the data based on other dimensions to which the parent child hierarchy joins ?

  • Presentation Variable issue in OBIEE 11g

    I have 2 reports, report 1 and report 2
    When i drill down on report 1 column 'Number of id's' will open the details report of Id's report 2
    I am using a Presentation variable in report 2 filters (detail report) which is generated in Main report dasnbord prompt.
    They have separate star schema.
    Main report(reprot1) using Aggregated table.
    Sub report(report2) using detail table.
    Problem:
    After upgradation from OBIEE 10.1.3.4 to OBIEE 11.1.1.5,(Unix server) The presentation variable value is not getting passed to the detail report. This is working completely fine in OBIEE 10g.
    Is there any BUG in OBIEE 11g wrt presentation variable or do we want to change the configuration?

    Not sure about the behaviour in 11g, but we faced a similar issue in 10g while passing the presentation varaibles to detail report where main/detail report where coming from different subject areas. The behavior was a little unpredictable. To overcome this, we tried using request variable instead of presentation variable and it worked for us.
    You can give it a try by doing the same and see if it works for you.

    I found a problem in OBIEE 11g Presentation service, i.e., When i created an analysis with few columns in the criteria, it showed proper result, but when i deleted one column and then again add the same column in the criteria, result did not show the added column.
    Anyone else find this issue?

    On the left hand corner you will see list of views in the report, on a basic analysis you will see title and table view. Select the table view and click on edit ( pencil symbol ). A new page opens up, scroll down a little and you will see the columns included and columns excluded sections. Make sure the column that you are trying to add to the report is not present in the excluded list. If it is, drag and drop it above.
