Report on Opportunity Close date forecast Quarters

Hi,
we have created a custom report with fields from the Forecast section in Reporting including the Opportunity close date, and under the 'Close Date' we have put the Fiscal Quarter. However it is coming out wrong in some cases, so i added the 'Date' under the Close date section and not the opportunity section and it is different to the Close date on the opportunity. Can someone tell me what this 'Date' refers to?

Updating product revenue close date based off opportunity close date

We do not use the product revenue close date, only the opportunity close date. We need to get the fiscal month of the opportunity close date but we have several reports the need to use the opportunity product history area and that does not contain the fiscal month for the opportunity. If we did a combined report, we cannot offer the user any prompts.
Does anyone know how to get the opportunity close date fiscal month from the opportunity products area? Is there a way to update the product revenue close date when the opportunity close date it updated?

Hi David,
In the universe you describe you have the opportunity 'Close Date'. Use a 'case-when' expression to create the 'Fiscal Month' you need.
Other than that you can use the JoinFieldValue function in the application to retrieve the opty close date, but that will require you to update product revenue for it to trigger which probably won't work for you.

Validating Opportunity close date

I was requested to create a validation for Opt. Close Date - Something like: If changed from the previous value it should be in the same quarter. Other than that it would be invalid.
I still trying but started using PRE(JulianQtr([<CloseDate>])) and do get syntax error about invalid name in expression... I suppose I should use PRE('<xxxxxx>') - so that means I cannot use PRE(JulianQtr.... ?
I'd appreciate any help.

I am trying to validate the Opt. Close Date using:
(JulianQtr[<CloseDate>] - JulianQtr(PRE('<CloseDate>'))) <> 0
(JulianQtr[<CloseDate>] - 1 < JulianQtr(PRE('<CloseDate>')))
Both expressions are ok in the syntax checker but during opt field validation there is an error message about CSSString does not support '-'
So it seeems that somehow JulianQtr is returning a string value that cannot be used in expressions.
Pls. I'd appreciate any help.

Opp Close Date - Quarters should be in Company Fiscal Year format

Hi,
I have to design report to calculate No of Opp Closed in Current Quarter and Last Quarter both according to Fiscal Year format.
Now, when I see Report 'Opportunity Analysis' for Data Source 'Opportunity Header and Item', Key Figure 'Close Date' has hierarchical date values (Quarter, Year Quarter etc) same as Calender Year.
For Example.
If Close Date = 15 Jan 2014, then system shows Quarter = Q1 and Year Quarter = Q1/2014. Meaning it is same as Calender Year.
Now, Company Fiscal Year starts from previous year Aug to July. So 15 Jan 2014 should be Quarter = Q2 and Year Quarter = Q2/2014.
Similarly, If Close Date = 10 Sept 2013, then system shows Quarter = Q3 and Year Quarter = Q3/2013. Meaning it is same as Calender Year.
Now, Company Fiscal Year starts from previous year Aug to July. So 10 Sept 2013 should be Quarter = Q1 and Year Quarter = Q1/2014.
To achieve Date hierarchical values in Fiscal Year format, Please let me know if I need to do any config OR if I am missing something OR I can achieve in fiscal format by creating new Key Figure.

As per my knowledge I did not find any setting where you can change the Calendar Fiscal Year in the system.
But what you are trying to achieve can be done in a different way.
If I understand your requirement right if you have 10 Opportunities in Jan 2014 you should see them as Q2/2014 instead of Q1/2014. What you can do is you can create 4 Restricted Key figures for 4 Fiscal quarters , i.e Aug to Oct -- Q1. Sept to Jan--Q2 , Feb to Apr --Q3 , May to July -- Q4 . Then Hide the original Key figure and make these 4 Key figures available in your report.
So if a user searches for Jan2014 the Key Figure Q2 will have some values not Q1. Try this.
This is a round about solution which might work. Quarterly search is not possible in this case as the system is still assuming Jan2014 as Q1 but not Q2 what you did above is just masking of Q1 as Q2 in your report.

Import Opportunity Partners data reporting non-primary contact relationship

I currently have three contacts related to each opportunity, but only the primary can be reported in OnDemand. It looks to me like I can use Opportunity Partners to accomplish the reporting of contacts related to the opportunities by linking the contacts in the opportunity partner area.
Anyone have experience with this problem and/or this solution?
My other problem is that Oracle says that Opportunity Partner data can not be imported, but I am guessing that someone knows how to do that in some way. maybe using web services??

The above code executes well with no problem at all!
As you can see the file to which i create and save and open my pdf report is
AssignedDialyzer.pdf.
The column headers of table in pdf report from c# windows forms using iTextSharp are
"Reprocessing Date","Patient Name","Dialyzer(Manufacturer,Size)","No.of Reuse","Verification" and
"DialyzerID".
However the problem i am facing is after execution and opening of document is my
column headers in table in pdf report from
c# and datas in it all appear in bold.
I have browsed through net regarding to solve this problem but with no success.

"Expected Close" date needs to be 30 days from opened on day

Hi all,
We are trying to auto-populate an opportunity field ("expected close") with a date that would be 30 days in the future from the opportunity field "opened on" date. We have the opened on date already set so that it auto-populates with the date that a new opportunity is created.
This is what we have tried so far in the opportunity field edit area:
[<CloseDate>]=Today()+30
Any ideas as to why this isn't working, and ideas on how to make it work are appreciated!!

Yes this works.
Go to the Admin Section, Application customization, pick the field that you want to update (in our case Opportunity),
Click Opportunity Field Set-up, pick the field that you will update (in our case Close Date) and click "edit".
In the Default Value add this: Today()+30 (or however many days you want (in our case "30"days from created date))
click "Save"
Log out and log back in to see if update has happened.

it gives report like

data came only in company code and business area and total open otems
issue is i would like to generate one report   i need some data in due in 8days or less /// due in 30 days or less
inorder to get this report what should i do   i need to do any i need to assign any dunning procedure in customer data

Hello,
If the standard report are not sufficing your requirement,
I would suggest you create a FORM in FDI4 - Refer FDI5 and FDI6 for standard forms.
Create a report in FDI1 and assign the form that you have created in FDI4.
Refer FDI2 and FDI3 for standard reports.
You can flexibly configure the forms according to your requirement and even add the formulas.

Creating report based on master data

Hi Guys,
I want to create a specific report based on master data in BI cube. for example... a report which takes cost center and period as variable and display expenses for that period and cost center. This report I want to create for all cost center in BI database separately. any idea how can we do this?
There are 2000 cost centers and I need to print/send 2000 reports one for every cost center.
If I store all cost center in excel file, can it be easier?

Create ONE Query with selection Cost Center and Period are inputs.
Create text variables for Cost Center and Period and add in Query Description.
After query execution you can see description based on selection in workbook or webtemplate.

Incorrect product in the transactional cube for opportunity planning data.

We're loading our Opportunity planning data of CRM in a transactional cube in BW side. Later this transactional cube data is then uploaded into a standard cube.
For an opportunity, user enter some planning data for a given product (A). which was duly stored in transactional and then later in the standard cube. Then user deleted the product (A) and entered a new product (B) on CRM side. However in the transactional cube, records for the previous product (A) also exist and the same flows to the standard cube as well.
Fyi, delta load mechanism is in place for loading of both types of cubes.
Could someone throw some light why the old item (product A) is still there in the cubes. coz this gives a wrong picture in the report, though the key figures for product A are 0.

A daily compression would remove the loading details of the cube that are visible to us for any back-tracking, Normally we do the compression for load requests older than 2 weeks.
But the suggestion is good, incase i do not come up with any other soln, will think of implementing this.

What happens, when we're using standard data sources (with delta load) for loading data from (say) CRM to BW and for a given header guid, a item guid record is later deleted in CRM. On BW side, whether this item_guid record will still be present in the cube or be deleted.

CRM Workflow notification upon close date approching

Hello,
I want to setup a workflow that looks at the close date in an Opportunity record and when there are 2 days until the Close date specificed in the Opportunity record the workflow will send an email out to the owner of the opportunity…and then repeat when there is 1 day left...
The email notification proves to work, but the notification is being sent upon the trigger event (which I have set to when a new record is created)...I have setup a Wait Action before the email notifiction of 'Until When' - Date Time Expression [<CloseDate>] - ("2D") .... (note: I tried [<CloseDate>] - period("2D") as well, but that didn't prove to be successful either.
Any direction would be very helpful.

syntax: Today() + Duration ("P1D")
I see a new requirement in your followup post. You are trying to change the date and you want one email per wait period. I have suggested solutions in other posts, so you have to modify the solution to your needs:
