Report Painter - Display two characteristics on one line in lead column

I have a requirement to produce a Report Painter report to display values by Cost Centre and Cost Element.
The requesting user wants to see the Cost Centre AND Cost Element keys displayed on each row of the report, to allow for manipulation in Excel.
I have no problem grouping Cost Element within Cost Centre or vice-versa, but am not aware of any way of displaying both key values on each row in the lead column (or anywhere else).
Has anybody done this?

Hi Robin,
the request is not unusual. However, report painter does not allow for two key columns or a key column combining two characteristics. You might consider using SAP Query (with table COEP or COSS/COSP for aggregates) if you do not want to resort to developing the report in ABAP.

may be my poor english make u guys misunderstand my question.
actually i am talking the first Top row (which is lead column/ descrption column)
and first Left column in a report painter.

currently i am using "change text" to type in description(english) by manual(), and the problem comes out when i login with other lang, say chinese lang for example, the column and row didn't display any text on it(all blank) after different lang login.
so just wonder is there any way to have a auto translation when different lang login.

Report to display (actuals data from one cube and plan from another)

Hi Gurus,
         I have a requirement in reporting to display actual data from one cube and plan data from a different one.
        The example below might give a clear picture of the requirement.
rows has key figures and columns = months
Jan | Feb | Mar | Apr | May | Jun ...   ....
GrossSales
Net Sales
Now if I run the report for Current month (Apr), then for the months of (Jan, Feb and Mar) i need to get the data from CUBE1   and for the remaining months (Apr thru Dec) from CUBE2.
Similarly when i run the report next month(may),
then (data for Jan, Feb, Mar, Apr from CUBE1)
and ( May thru Dec from CUBE2)
Any suggestions.

     We alreadey have a multi provider which includes
FinDat Cube(CUBE1) for actuals and Comm.Goals cube (CUBE2) for plan.
So you suggest that we have two versions of key figure for actual and plan.
ie. each KF will have two versions.
actuals = (version 10, FiscPer<curr.mnth, key figure, acutals cube)
Plan = (version 20, FiscPer>=curr.mnth, key figure, comm.goals cube)
eg:
Jan | Feb | Mar | Apr | May | Jun ...
GrossSales(Act)
GrossSlaes(Plan)
Net Sales(Acutal)
Net Sales(Plan)
Correct me if I am wrong.
the report has a lot of key figures, having two versions for each kf will be confusing.
the user would like to see
Jan.....| ...Feb |..Mar |..Apr.....| May |

Net Sales
where Act.Value is from CUBE1
         Plan Value is from CUBE2

Report Painter: Rearranging of Characteristics

Hello Everyone,
Could anyone help me out in rearranging characteristic in Report Painter.
As per clients requirement the report should split values of Cost Center into Activity Type and then Cost Components. However, I am getting report in Reverse way itu2019s splitting the Values from Activity Type into Cost Components then Cost Center. I Would like to know functionality of Report Painter for rearranging Characteristics.
EG: Cost Center----- Activity Type--
Cost Component.

Screen painter space between two element in one line

Hi Experts,
i am developing a RF program with screens of size 16linesX20columns. limited space should be used . But when i create more than one element in one line , one space is always present between two elements,and the space can not be deleted or overlaped. because of this, elements can not get enought columns.
i am sure that elements can be adjacent without space in the past time. i am not sure space appear after what changes was done by me...
can you please give some suggestion if you also have the same issue.

You can place screen elements one after another in a single line without any spaces.

Report Painter Display Error

When executing a Cost Centre Z developed Report painter report, The values appearing blank on the face of the report but when drilling down to line item level i can see the value exists. This is not a access/security/authorization error as no crosses on the face of the report.

but the total lines are not adding to zero. in a another report painter report one of the lines value is not equal to line item total! it is quite a strange behaviour that i have never come accross! any clues?

Display two characteristics in the same column

Hi everyone,
I have two cubes that store key figures in two different ways.
In the first cube I have several key figures like "Amount in Local Currency", "Amount in Document Currency" etc. these have the currency characteristics "Local currency"(0LOC_CURRCY) and "Document Currency"(0DOC_CURRCY) associated with them.
In the second cube I have one key figure "Amount" and a characteristic "Currency Type" that has the values "Local Currency" and "Document Currency". The key figure is associated with the characteristic "Currency"(0CURRENCY).
I have a report demand that requires me to collect values (Document Currency) from both reports and the report should also be drilled down on the characteristic "Currency". Now the demand is for one characteristic for Currencies and I would like to know what my options are.
The only two ideas that I have is
1. Add a new custom characteristic "Document Currency" in both cubes and populate it with the Document Currency.
2. Create a virtual characteristic that combines both characteristics into one.
None of these options are very appealing to me and I was wondering if there is a third option which I have missed?
I could also mention that I am doing this query in Bex Analyzer.

I want there to be two text fields on one line. Just as you would type and tab in a regular document? Or, does every field have to be below the previous?

if you had powerline adapters then plug one beside the hub and connect with ethernet cable then plug the other where daughter works and then connect laptop with ethernet cable to powerline and then pair the powerline adapters. laptop now has cable connection - no need for wifi security changes and faster connection for daughter as now cable

Report painter:display of G/L with zero amount

Hi,
I have created a report in report painter for expenses by profit center. however the system is not showing the G/L for which no posting has been made although i have maintained those G/Ls in the report. Is there any way to display G/L with zero values also?
I am running the report at fiscal year level.

Hi, you can try to go the report painter (GRR2)
Formatting - section layout - Columns make sure the suppress zero columns is unchecked
and also you can go to Formatting - section layout - Columns - Treatment of zero rows - Print Zero Rows

Remove the TAB Spacing ',,'. Instead u give the Space.
Reduce the length of fonts.
These are the ways to display the text in a line.

Report Painter: Display only own Libraries in GRR2

I'm working with Report Painter and Key Users find it troublesome to explore all the library tree until they get their own library...
Does anyone knows if it is possible in transactions GRR2 or GRR3 to hide the standard libraries???

I have configured that one but it seems that in transaction GRR2 or GRR3 is checking other Authorization Group (G_803J_GJB = Report Writer: Report Group)

Question regarding having two keyfigures in one line

I have a requirement. I need values of two keyfigures from one cube in one row in the BEX Report. Basically depending on the month i want 6 months of history keyfigure value and 12 months of forecast keyfigure value in BEX reporting in one row. Can i do that? if yes, how....?? The calendar month already has a variable to drive the report.

My understanding was that you meant, the history is for a month X -6 to X and forecast for X+1 to X +12?
So, is the current variable evaluating range of 18 months as X-6 to X+12?
If yes, then this should be possible.
As suggested earlier offset may not work as the cal month variable is a range and not a single value.
I assumed cal month is a single value and hence was the proposal.
Now try capturing the low or high value of the current cal month using a customer exit code. This should be evaluated at I_STEP = 2 and then offset the result.
We are not expecting mulitple user inputs. This whole excercise is going to work with only one input by the user and using that, we are going to evaluate the hsitory and forecast.
Also, there is no such limitation that we have only one restricted key figure with a particular selection.
Moreover our restriction also is different, in terms of offset.

I want to write some fields from bkpf and bseg in one line...
My report should like something like this:

An easy way to tell how to make multi-plot charts and graphs is to hold your mouse over the chart/graph terminal on the block diagram and make sure Context Help (Help >> Show Context Help) is enabled. This screen will tell you how to connect the indicator for a multiple-plot display.
You might want to take a look at my attached screenshots of a working multi-plot chart.
