Reports with wrong Server details (using ODBC name instead of server name)

When I save a report either in Crystal Reports 11 (File save as, Enterprise u2013 Central Management Server) or Central Manager Console, Objects New Object I get an error.
On looking at the database all reports I am adding or saving are automatically taking the wrong server details, and it is a greyed out field, so I cannot edit it. I presumed it is getting this information from my ODBC settings, but appears to be using the ODBC name/description as the server name (The Database and usernames are correct). This is happening on every report!
Any ideas what I am doing wrong? How I can save or add new reports with the correct details?
Not sure if this will help, but the error message is:- Failed to open the connection. D:\Program Files\Business Objects\BusinessObjects Enterprise 11.5\Data\procSched\wdcsql1.reportjobserver\~tmp117852b044ee296.rpt

No, Crystal Reports in not installed on the server, and the ODBC settings are not setup on the server. However I did add the correct ODBC settings on the server but this has made no difference.
So do I need to setup all the ODBC settings in advance of anyone saving a report (I will need to try and find obtain them all)?
Should the server also have a version of Crystal Reports on it?
One report is working but it was added by the guy that installed it, and this report is using the same database as all the reports that I have added, and should be the same ODBC settings.
The server (server username) does not have access to the original location of the reports, so it cannot run the reports - however when I save them to the server via enterprise or the import tool, does a version of the report get saved on the server? If so can you point me in the direction of them, so I can try and run them via the server?

Hi Sreedhar,
Did you find any option Scheduling for the report with in crystal designer.
We need Crystal Enterprise or Server to schedule the reports at regular intervals.
We can schedule the report for our required destination, we can view the reports with default viewers with in the Enterprise.
There is no need of using any third party tools.

You can find the name of the standalone reports server in $ORACLE_INSTANCE/config/ReportsServerComponent.
Or you can use Fusion Middleware Control Console, normally at http://<machine name>:7001/em

Report with sql server database

i m trying to create a report for sql server database
first time it was developed successfully but when i tried to run it next time it throws error
REP-4100 : Failed to execute data source
JDBCPDS -62008 : SQL Server Error:

now today when i tried to develop a new report it shows two new errors:

yes you can use report Buider with Sql Server through jdbc driver.
When you define the report datasource, you just have to set the JDBC conection infos.

Publishing with wrong server address

hi guyz
I am using Web application designer and going thru a silly problems while publishing my report in any browser.
whenever i publish my report in a browser,a wrong server address is generated and i have to manually change the address each and every time when i run the query. Can i change the server address somewhere in the settings or is it something to do with the server and basis guyz?
Another problem is refreshing a report never gives the updated query results as in Bex analyzer.

Abhilash,
this has to do with the Fully Qualified Domain Name (FQDN) setting done by basis and also the namethey have maintained in SMICM and in the profiles.
Make sure that all these are in line...

Sudden issue with InfoView reports with CR Server, they have disappeared

I am running CR Server (not the 2008) and everything was working perfectly. My problem is I have a simple jpeg that does not display for InfoView reports..
Well, it does display if I change the default view to Active X viewer, it does work, if I use the DHTML viewer (which worked perfectly until yesterday), the graphics don't show

Dynamic Crystal Report with Windows Server 2008

I am creating a report through code with Crystal report on Windows Server 2008 R2. When I am executing the following command:

CR XI R2 Service Pack 6 and Fix Pack 6.4 should work on Windows 2008. CR 2008 SP 2 and above also. Older version, no support for it.
CR is 32 bit, make sure the 32 bit client is installed and being used.

Salesforce issue- Accessing Objects and Reports with 2 master-details

I'm using Crystal Reports XI r2 with the Salesforce data connector installed, and I know the same issue exists in CR 2008 as well. With version of the Salesforce API that the Crystal - Salesforce connector is using, objects that have 2 master-detail relationships are not available to add to reports. Even if I create a stanard Salesforce report with an object with 2 master-details, that report isn't available in the "Stored Procedures" of Salesforce in Crystal. The API is about 3 years out of date, any word on when a new version will be available? This is a big limitation.

Try SP3 for CR 2008. Please re-post if this is still an issue or purchase a case and have a dedicated support engineer work with you directly:

How open a report with Viewer 2008 without using Visual Studio and Java

Hi,
There is a way to open a report (with parameters) save in a web server with Crystal Report Viewer 2008 without using Visual Studio or Java ?
I've an asp page and i want to open this report using some command (I know asp, vbscript and html)
In the past it was very easy because we use CR 9, but now it's already many days im looking for a solution but seem impossible.
I know the craxdrt.dll is not included with Crystal Reports 2008.
It seem me i can use OpenDocument, but i'm not sure. Someone has some easy example to help me ?
Remember i have only Crystal report viewer 2008 on the server and on the clients.

If you are looking to create a web application or view report through a web server using only Crystal Reports then you do have to either use Java, or .NET.
If you have Crystal Reports server or Business Objects Enterprise you can use OpenDocument to view managed reports but this does require one of our server products.

LDAP list of DB Services contains duplicate name, with wrong connect detail

Sqldeveloper 2.1.1.64 (running on Vista, or Linux)
Using LDAP to define a db connection, connection to the ldap server is successful and returns a list of ~360 database entries.
Within this list 2 database names appear twice with the next db name is missing. Of concern is the connection details supplied with the database
are for the next (omitted) db!
The work around is to use the basic connection type when defining the 4 databases.
Is this a known problem ? Is there a fix available ?

Sql server 2005 reports with sql server 2014

Can i upload SSRS 2005 reports as it is on SSRS 2014 and use it without doing anything extra or without changing anything ??
I can use SSRS 2005 reports as it is with SSRS 2012. But for SSRS 2014 not sure.

Report definition (.rdl) files are automatically upgraded in the following ways:
When you open a report in Report Designer in SQL Server Data Tools (SSDT), the report definition is upgraded to the currently supported RDL schema. When you specify a SQL Server 2008 or SQL Server 2008 R2 report server in the project properties, the report

Excel 2010 reporting with Project Server 2013

Our company purchased SharePoint Server 2013 and Project Server 2013, mainly for the reporting/BI attributes. I read that the report templates, etc. that can be used by Project Server web app can only be accessed with Excel 2013?? Does that mean that our
group/customers have to upgrade to Excel 2013 to take advantage of the Excel Services? This is a huge deal. Can you please let me know as soon as possible? Yikes!! :-O
