Request for Video Features

Hello,
Here's what I'd like to see added to the video support:
Keyboard shortcuts: most particularly j/k/l support (reverse/play/fast-forward) and Mark-in/out
Support for XML output from a collection of video clips (such as Final Cut XML, or the Premiere equivalent)
Recognition of .dv files- these are just .mov files, and renaming my .dv files as .mov makes them usable; but renaming is a pain
Ability to clip a trimmed selection to a virtual copy
Support for multiple marker types, not just in/out
Ability to play clips before/past the marked in/out points- right now we have to move the trim points to view the exluded portion
And at some point- noise reduction capability

I'd really echo ability to create a virtual copy from the clipped section, or at least some way to "apply" the mark in/out like when you crop an image, once you close the crop tool you just see the cropped image, not the whole thing. Working with a few minutes / seconds of video in the middle of an hour long clip is difficult as it is.
Also be able to expand he timeline in the clip editor to use more of the horizontal screen space available. Even make it multi-line. Trying to find a short (few minutes / seconds) section to clip out of a long (~ hour or more) movie file is very difficult. Add a pulldown to set how many video seconds each frame in the timeline represents.
Is there a way to chain together several diferent clips from different video files into one when you export it as a movie? If not, there should be. Basic workflow - trim and adjust each clip, then stick them together in order.

Request for new feature: Login to Flickr account

I have a request for a new feature for ATV2 in the next sw update. I am hoping Apple will read this.. Please enable ATV2 to login to our Flickr accounts. The way it is, we can't see certain contacts' pictures as their profiles are set to public.
And please find a solution to never ending "Loading XXXX's Library" screen. Loading a library on the same wifi network (both for files on Mac or Airport's USB Harddrive) takes forever.

I have an ATV2 and it was logged in fine--I had to restore a few minutes ago because it lost it's connection with iTunes Match, and now I can't log in any more. This is TERRIBLE as I HAVE to keep my photos on Flickr private, but want to have them playing on the AppleTV at home for me, friends, and parties.
Why did this go away?!?!

How can I submit a request for a feature in a future iPod update.

I use my iPod via a 3.5mm patch cable to my car stereo which is charged by a Belkin car charger connected to a power socket with is only live when the ignition is on.
I would like to request an option within the iPod settings that I could enable to make the iPod always have the backlight on when it is connected to an external power source.
Even better would be for Apple to introduce an option for a "Car Mode" in which, when it detects an external power source with no data line, it would automatically turn the backlight on & begin playing, and revert to normal backlight settings & pause when the power source discontinues

Request for New Features in Adobe Application Manager

Creative Cloud has been around for a year now and Adobe Application Manager has been the tool to update and download new apps. AAM works fine but, it's so minimal, ever since then I've been waiting for Adobe to release a more useful version.
Here are some essential features that would make Adobe Application Manager more useful...
- Make the AAM window resizeable. If a window contains a long list of items why would it be locked at a short height? Just let the user expand the window as large as they like to view all items.
- Show the version numbers next to the application titles. User should be able to see the version of the available update as well as the version currently installed on user's computer.
- Show the available app's download size in MB. And, while downloading show the MB progress/totals not just a percentage.
- Allow user to pause downloads.
- Show a short description of the application under each title. Or, at least make a link to the application's webpage.
- Add an Uninstall option for user's existing apps.
I currently have Version 7.0.0.324 of Adobe Application Manager. Please let me know if there is some other more advanced version of AAM or if I'm overlooking some existing features.

How do you request for a feature

I would like to ask sun for an enhancement asking for a StatusBar Class similar to a JSeparator Class. Where can I ask for it. I tried to look for this but I did not find it in site. Have any body asked for it. or is it already present.

Keep in mind that Adobe Reader for iOS is very new and not nearly as mature as PDF viewers for Mac and Windows.

So far, I couldnt find any method for retrieving selected Option from a list box.
Currently, in the properties for Listbox
i can ONLY bind 'selected' to a String[ ]
binding 'selected' to 'Option [ ]' fails to work
Scenario:
I have 2 listboxes, ListBoxA and ListBoxB
ListBoxA is filled with something Option objects
ListBoxB is empty
Now i want to pass some Option objects over to ListBoxB
Because 'selected' can only be bind to String[ ],
i've to manully check the String [ ] of Option's value
with those that are in ListBoxA, to get the respective Option's Label,
in order to display them in ListBoxB
I hope i'm not too confusing
If anyone know an easier method in achieving the same goal,
please reply

AUDIO:
Ability to save track or clip based audio effect user presets.
Option-drag to copy an audio effect from one insert location to another (to different tracks)
Drag audio effects up or down in the effect stack order, or to another track
Temporary Snap on or off (Reverse Snap Behavior) keyboard modifier.
KEYBOARD / SHORTCUTS:
Ability to map multiple Keyboard Shortcuts to the same function (like Avid: E & R keys, same as I and O)
Ability to print the Keyboard Shortcuts, or save all of them as a text file.
TIMELINE:
More obvious indicator that Timeline Snap is on.
Indicator on Clips in the Timeline that indicate Frame Blend is enabled.
Ripple Sequence and Chapter Markers.
Ripple Audio Track Keyframes.
Solo video layer button on the Timeline track panel.
Constrain clip time movement between tracks by holding shift key, just like all other applications.
FX button/switch, as in After Effects, to turn off all effects on a track (video and audio).
Option-double click a nest to reveal contents of nest in the same master timeline.
SOURCE AND PROGRAM PANES:
Keyboard shortcuts to scale image zoom in Source and Program tabs.
Keyboard shortcuts to increase or decrease playback resolution.
Have the Program monitor remember the Zoom and Resolution level for each Sequence; don't have Zoom scale set universally by the project.
VIDEO EFFECTS:
Make ALL effects Accelerated, YUV, 32-bit. Allow Third Party effects to be accelerated!
Ability to save user/custom transition presets.
In Effects tab, press Tab button to jump to next effect parameter (as in After Effects)
Feathering and invert on Garbage Mattes
A Track Matte function that allows us to pan and scale the clip being matted without affecting the matte size or position. You could do this with a Stencil / Silhouette Alpha / Luma Blend mode as in Ae.
MISC:
When using Clip > Scale to Sequence, DO NOT have the new Scale factor in the Motion tab change the clip's scale to 100%.
Consistent Mouse Wheel behavior across all apps in CS
Scopes update while playing.
Make Export and Title windows return to the previously adjusted size and placement.
Add a command buffer, so that we can execute several commands in a row, and not wait for the app to "release", or for the first event to complete before I can proceed to the next event.

If you want to do this correctly you need to file a request for each feature.
Ripple Sequence and Chapter Markers is already implemented. Sequence markers are the same as chapter markers, yes? (Ripple Sequence Markers, select Marker > Ripple Sequence Markers.)

Some feature you posted are great. How about a eyedropper tool for the Color Matte?
I find the Magnet for Snap quite visible. There is also this feature in the Pref to make the playhead snap.

Say you have 10 takes to choose from. Are you able to almost like SLIDESHOW view the 10 clips full screen so you can decide, like a playlist? Or rate them as they play? It would also be great, like SLIDESHOW to be able to export a MP4 with a title, the 10 clips you are working with, and maybe add an end title and a song, just like SLIDESHOW.
I have found editing stills like this in slideshow far faster than in any other editing program.
Basically, I just need a fast means to view or export an MP4 of a set of video clips to review. You are almost there.

I was also disappointed that video is not supported in the slideshow module -I currently have to use another solution when I want stills mixed with videos, would be great to be ablo to keep it all in LR!

Nokia 808 Pureview feature request for Phone and C...

Hi,
Where would be the best venue to make feature requests for the 808 functions? These are some nice-to-have ideas that I would like to propose, which would increase its awesomeness:
- in video mode, add a "lock exposure" setting so that the 808 doesn't continuously adjust exposure after recording starts. this would be equivalent to setting the exposure to manual on a regular videocam.
- in photo creative mode, add a voice-activated self-timer, where it would take a shot when sound reaches a certain threshold. this is similar to what the Shout 'n Snap app does for the android.
- in phone calls, add an option to use proximity sensing, so that when you take the phone away from your ear, the handset automatically switches to speaker phone, or vice versa. this would be equivalent to the Phone Speakers Switcher on the N900.

i'd like to make an addendum to my request and change it to "lock exposure and white balance".
i just found that while shooting, it does not keep the white balance setting throughout. for example, select "tungsten" and the video will start with this, but later it adjusts as if it was under "auto" white balance setting for the rest of the video.

I REALLY need an on/off toggle for the delete video feature. Any Ideas?

My son has Autism and uses an ipod touch and proloquo2go (AAC communication software) to communicate since he is functionally non-verbal.
He also has music and videos for entertainment on the ipod. I've been fighting for a year now that he keeps deleting all of his movies and then get's mad that they aren't there. I don't always have the option to resync so this can be very stressful at times. Life in general is stressful on a daily basis with his disorder :-(
A simple on/off toggle in the settings box for the feature similar to the app deletion toggle would relieve sooooo much stress here but alas, it does not exist.
For a year now I have been searching for a solution with no luck. I have seen quite a few people with the same problem come up empty as well.
So, is there any way to make this happen?
Even an alternative video app with a toggle to disable this feature would work. I've tried quite a few but they all work the same as the stock video player with no video protection.
I would NOT AT ALL mind paying for such an app or feature if it is, or will be available. I believe there is a market for it as i know of many disabled kids in our global special needs community that use a ipod/ipad as a communication device.
Any help would be greatly appreciated,

Requesting Music Videos for Download

Hi All!
Does anyone know if there is a way to request for iTunes to get a particular music video? I am looking for a particular video by an artist and iTunes already has all of his other videos, just not this one.

You can submit suggestions for the iTunes Store through the feedback page. Whether or not your suggestion will ever be acted upon will depend on a number of factors, some out of Apple's control (to start with, the artists and record companies have to be willing to license the video to Apple), so don't expect instant action.

Top 10 feature requests for reliability

My top 10 list:
1) Require enough extra safe guards that users can't accidentally rename their Home folder.
2) Don't let the Finder become unresponsive and beach-balled when dot-mac mounting is occurring.
3) Faster Finder list view updating when sorted by last modified.
4) OS update scripts should perform a hard disk verify before installation. If hard disk does not verify, the user should be told of the risk of proceeding and given directions on how to fix before proceeding.
5) The filesystem should should be able to fix itself with fsck (ala AppleJack) without being booted from install CD/DVD.
6) iPhoto Library folder should have an extra layer of protection to keep users from messing with it via the Finder.
7) Forced shutdown via power key should give OS and filesystem more of a chance for recovery. (Not sure how this would work, but if users are doing this, it should not be so often fatal.)
8) System maintenance scripts should have a method for running (other than cron) for those who don't leave their computer on 24/7.

David Pogue explains why this can't be done in his Mac OS X: The Missing Manual He basically says that running fsck without an operating system disc is much akin to "a doctor performing an appendectomy on himself." While a method of doing this is provided, naturally fsck itself is not analyzed because it can't do that. To run fsck without an operating system disc, boot into single user mode, holding command-S at startup. Type /sbin/fsck -fy
followed by return key,
when done type:
/sbin/mount -uw /
followed by return key and when done with that type

Thankfully single user mode provides more safeguards. But they aren't perfect. Fixing the directory is something that should only be done if your data is backed up, and it is obvious you may have a damaged directory. A damaged directory may have the symptoms of a dying hard drive, and it is impossible to tell the difference.
Apple is readying a really good backup system in Time Machine in Leopard. You can read more about it here:

Great tutorial. When I build a timelapse I start by importing the image sequence and then make the proper frame size on export. Is there a benefit to creating a project at the proper frame size and rate first?

Ooh, InPage! I'm so glad that I don't have to work in InPage anymore.
However, that feature that you're looking for was actually a good one. It won't do you any good to ask for it here, though; you want to go straight to WinSoft. They make the ME edition, not Adobe.
However: World Tools suite from in-tools.com has the feature "Apply Latin Character Style" which does what you want, more or less. The main paragraph style would be an Urdu RTL style, unlike your InPage example. Unfortunately, going in "the other direction" World Tools only has "apply Hebrew character style." It's still worth a look for you, I think.
